"How do you know Willow and the girls?" Betty asked as she took a large bite of spaghetti, not even bothering to heat it up. Donnie smiled at her as she wiped marinara off her face.
"I've known Willow for five years now, Felicia for about two and your sister and Riley for maybe, one..." He mused trying to remember the exact date.
"Wow..." She grumbled with a full mouth, nodding her head. "They never mentioned me?" She asked, leaning back against the refrigerator as Donnie sat at the table.
"No, not really. I mean, I've known of the girls for two years... We just became friends a couple months ago." Donnie shrugged as Betty hummed, scarping the bowl with her fork.
"Why'd it take you guys so long to like, get to know one another?" She asked, going into Willow's fridge again and grabbing a bottle of water. She drank it down quickly. Donnie noticed that her sobriety was becoming more and more apparent. The pound of pasta she ate must have soaked up the copious amounts of alcohol she had just consumed in a five hour period.
"Um, no reason really. I personally have been busy with a tech business. I do troubleshooting and tech support for a computer company." He shrugged and she nodded with a smile.
"You seem like a tech geek."
"Yeah... I kinda get carried away." He sighed, embarrassed. She chuckled, taking a seat next to him at the kitchen table.
"No, no it's cute. You don't exactly find a whole lot of guys who are smart and attractive." Donnie's face heated up to the world 'attractive' and Betty chuckled once more. "You don't get called that often huh?" She asked to his expression and he shook his head. "Well, that's ridiculous." She got up from the table and held out her hand to him.
Just as he was going to reach for it, the timer on his Shell Cell went off telling him and his brother's that if they were to stay human they needed another dose. He sighed, turning off the alarm.
"Excuse me for just one moment." He said, as Betty nodded, watching him go into the bathroom. He locked the door and opened up Willow's medicine cabinet. Inside, underneath one of the glass shelves he stored an extra syringe with two vials of the de-mutagen. Taking one he placed the glass vial in the syringe and put it on the bathroom cabinet. He grabbed a cotton ball from Willow's basket of make-up and some rubbing alcohol from the medicine cabinet, washing a spot on his arm where his elbow bends. Before he could tie the rubber band around his bicep he heard a small commotion outside the bathroom door.
"Hey, Don." Mikey whispered through the wooden door. "Can I come in?" Donnie sighed and opened the door for his little brother. Raphael followed in after him making the small bathroom very close quarters.
"I only have one more vial..." Donnie said to Raph. He had given Mikey an extra one early in the evening wanting to make sure he's younger brother didn't get caught out in New York in plain sight. Raph snorted and lifted up a small glass tube filled with the bright green liquid from his pants pocket.
"I always keep one on me." He shrugged as Mikey nodded.
"That's a good idea dude." Mikey said through the rubber band between his teeth as he tugged it tighter against his bicep. Donnie sighed and assisted his brother, pressing the tip of the needle into his vein. He helped Raphael next and then himself.
The brother's all exited the bathroom, seeing Leonardo coming from Willow's bedroom, rolling down the sleeve of his button up shirt.
"This isn't inconspicuous..." Donnie sighed shaking his head as Leo shrugged.
"Either this or Betty finds out." He said, clapping a hand on his brother's shoulder. "How's that going?" He asked his brother, climbing out of the large bay window and onto the fire escape. Raphael and Michelangelo both went into the kitchen to grab themselves and their significant other's something to drink. Donnie shrugged, shifting in place on the fire escape platform as Leo gave his brother a knowing smile. "You obviously like her."
"Yeah, but everything went so well before with Izzy." He sighed sarcastically, leaning back against the metal railing.
"She's not Izzy." Leo shrugged. "They're very different. Felicia and Riley are ok with it. It may have taken them awhile but, they're happy with those two." He said, pointing over his shoulder to Raph and Mikey in the kitchen, Mikey balancing a beer bottle upside down on his index finger. Donnie snorted a laugh nodding his head. "If those two can find someone, if I can, there has to be someone for you too Don. You're too good." He smiled at his little brother and best man, squeezing his shoulder and giving it a pat before walking up the stairs to the roof top.
"Where'd you guys all go?" Betty, asked, playing with Willow's iPod trying to find a song.
"We just had to talk about something." Leo shrugged as she nodded her head, looking back down at the device in her hand. Donnie went back over to the fire wood they had kept since last summer and stoked the fire.
"Family meeting." Riley chimed in, her voice slurring slightly as Felicia snorted loudly, leaning heavily on her blonde best friend. Willow sat content in her chair and a blanket over her legs, sipping her margarita slowly. She didn't want to get too drunk reminding herself of the head aches that follow the morning after. Even though Leo was doing enough reminding for her as it was. He placed a bottle of water next to her, taking a seat in the neighboring chair. She smiled over at him as he took her free hand and kissed it softly.
Raphael and Michelangelo came up the stairs holding an armful of boos each. Riley walked over, taking a beer from her new boyfriend's arms, giving him a soft kiss. Felicia was occupied with Betty over near the stereo and iPod, both of them searching for a song and murmuring to each other. Soft laughs came out, but Felicia quickly covered her mouth as Betty nudged her with her shoulder to shut her up.
"What are you two up to?" Hayden said as he sat in Dan's chair who had left not too long after Izzy and Zachary.
"Nothing!" They both said, their faces still glowing in the light of the device they hunched over.
"Well, that obviously means something." Riley chuckled, dropping heavily down into a seat next to Willow.
"They said they wanna dance." Willow shrugged.
"Oh! I wanna dance!" Riley said, jumping from the chair and going over to the other two girls. All the girls chatted excitedly before Betty placed the iPod down, loudening the volume on a pair to speakers that Donnie had given Willow years ago.
A beat started over the silence and everyone looked towards the girls as Betty started moving her hips, grabbing Felicia's hand and moving towards a more open space on the roof, away from the fire pit.
"Oh..." Willow smirked, leaning her head back as her shoulders started to move. "I love this song." Riley walked over to her, whipping the blanket from her legs and put her hand out towards Willow. "No, no I will fall into the fire." She laughed as Riley rolled her eyes, pulling her friend to her feet. She complied to her pushy friend, looking over at Leo with a grimace. "Don't hold this against me." She said as he nodded with a laugh.
The brother's sat in the free chairs and watched as all the girls gathered together in a little circle. Hayden moved his chair over to the other side of the fire pit, sitting next to Mikey. He chuckled watching all the brother's not even flinch to the fact that he had moved positions, their eyes all glued to the girls in the corner of the roof.
Willow grabbed Riley's hands, moving them up over their heads. She turned, her back against Riley's front as they moved with each other to the beat. Willow rolled her body, moving down to the ground as Riley followed and brought Willow back up switching positions.
"They do this a lot?" Mikey asked, not taking his eyes from the girls but addressing the question to Hayden.
"When they've been drinking... Yeah." Hayden chuckled. "Get ready, they'll pull you in if you're not careful."
"Awesome..." Mikey sighed watching Riley's body move in the tight jeans he had been admiring all night. The top of her body covered by a thick pink hoodie but, he could still make out the movement of her waist and the curve of her hips through it. He sipped his beer, keeping his eyes on her as she turned from Willow, her back now against Willow's front and met Mikey's eyes. She smiled and let go of Willow's hand and made her way over to him.
"You dance?" She asked, cautiously putting her hand out for him as he scoffed.
"Please." He said lifting himself from the chair in a fluid motion and spinning Riley walking her back over to the group. Betty clapped and giggled to the new comer. Mikey moved with Riley, placing his hands on her hips as she moved against him.
Willow laughed and started walking back to her chair next to Leo since her dancing partner was taken from her by a much more handsome partner. Betty grabbed her hand, pulling her back into the group. Felicia danced by herself, her hands in the air over her head as her body moved to the beat. Her hips rolled and popped back and fourth.
Raphael watched her carefully like he was stalking prey. Her eyes were closed but, he knew she could feel him looking at her. Her hands moved down to her loose hair and neck before sliding down over her stomach. Her eyes opened slowly looking at him and he could feel the pull of her gaze. She smirked and walked over to him slowly, holding out her hand to him.
"I don't dance." He said softly and she shook her head.
"I'm done dancing." She grabbed his hand and tried to tug him to his feet and he complied, getting up as they left the roof top.
"Good-night you two." Leo called out with a chuckled, watching his soon to be wife dance with her friends in amusement.
Felicia barely said a word to him as they made their way to her apartment. She was stumbling a bit at first as they walked down the dark streets but either the cold or the realization of what was going to happen, at least what she wanted to happen sobered her up. She could feel his eyes on her the whole time as he walked behind her making her feel hot in her jacket even through the wind chill. She wanted to just grab his hand and run all the way home and rip all their clothes off and just... She didn't know what.
She hadn't been with a man in years. She wasn't a virgin but, she had only ever been with one other guy. She wasn't a prude either, it's not as if she didn't try to 'hook up' over the years. It was just other things in her life got in her way of a relationship or the real reason, all men in this city are disgusting pigs that want one thing and she wasn't just going to give it up after knowing a completely stranger for one night. She hated that she couldn't do it, the one night stand thing but really, why would you want to? She wanted sex sure but, the after effects of feeling ashamed and dirty just didn't seem all that appealing.
Her hands shook as she tried to unlock the apartment complex doors after they climbed the cement stoop. Raphael took the keys from Felicia's hands sliding the key in its hole easily, looking down at her flushed face. He opened the door for her and she walked through into the warm entry way, climbing up the one flight of stairs to her apartment.
Opening her door was easier than outside. Her hands were steadier as she took a deep breath, looking over at Raphael who leaned against the wall next to her. He smirked down at her and she felt her face rush with heat to his beautiful human face. The slight stubble and perfect dimples on his cheeks. The almost chapped from the cold red of his full lips. His physic she could go on about for days, and the fact that someone like his even noticed someone like her was astonishing to her. But, she got caught up too much in that and scolded herself. Raphael's body, regardless of a serum was amazingly beautiful. With a sigh she entered her apartment flicking on the lights. Binx played around at her feet, meowing at her. Raphael walked in behind her and shut the door, sliding the deadbolt in place.
"I need to feed him." She said softly as Raph nodded, watching the once confident girl on Willow's roof top who was dancing for him move nervously around her own apartment. Either it was the boos that made her confident or, it was a whole new side of Felicia that Raph hadn't noticed before. It was most likely the 'liquid courage' as Willow had put it before but, he wanted to see more of this side of her. He wanted her to be comfortable around him. She was always so nervous around him and really, all of his brother's and he needed for her to come out of her... Shell. She struggled to get the can of cat food open and Raph walked over to her, pulling it off easily for her. "Thanks." She smirked tapping the food into Binx's blue dish.
Felicia turned to Raphael, who leaned against her little kitchen counter top with a deep breath. Their eyes locked on to one another and she sucked her bottom lip into her teeth, looking his human body up and down slowly. He did the same, his hands twitching under his biceps that he had crossed over his large chest. He needed to touch her.
He moved forward, putting his hand against her hot face. From her excitement or lingering from the boos he really didn't care, he just enjoyed in that moment the feeling of her warm, soft face against his large palm. He thought of another woman who he would go to see, late at night after having a few drinks and closed his eyes. He felt Felicia reach for his hand against her cheek and he stopped her, placing her hand in his and intertwining their fingers. She felt a strike of heat course through her stomach at the action, the fact that their fingers felt perfect together.
He noticed it too and pressed his head down against her shoulder. She was too nervous to move to scare him away. He was fighting with something and she had an idea of what.
"I'm not Meredith..." Felicia breathed out softly. Raphael clenched his eyes shut tighter, she was right. Felicia is a completely different woman than the one he knew years ago. The woman that would have been a huge mistake months ago. Felicia was everything Meredith wasn't. She was kind and sweet and this wasn't going to go any further than she wanted it to tonight. In the moment, on Willow's roof top he knew she was trying to be sexy and brave, and she was incredibly sexy but, he didn't want this to happen to them like this. With the lingering taste of alcohol on her breath. With him in this form. None of it seemed right.
"You are so beautiful." He sighed, breathing softly against her neck. His head rose and looked into her beautiful eyes before moving closer to her face and pressing his lips to hers. Her hands quickly moved to his arms, clenching onto them as her knees buckled to the kiss. Her body was hyper aware of every move he made against her skin and she whimpered as his fingertips moved slowly down the side of her neck, pushing her short hair back from it. His face moved across her cheek, down to her neck and kissed her pulse point. He could feel it throb beneath his lips and smiled at how excited she was to just him being close to her. Meredith never reacted in this way to him, just the mere thought of him touching her flesh as lightly as he was. It made him excited and furious with the fact that he had to stop. "Felicia." He said softly, his lips dragging up her neck and kissing the side of her head.
"Yes." She breathed out, her hands loosing the ability to hold on tight to him any longer. Her whole body felt as though at any moment it will collapse into a pile of goo.
"We're not doing this tonight." He sighed, with a shake of his head immediately regretting the words as soon as they left his mouth. She furrowed her brow, confused and pulled back from him.
"Wh-what do you mean? You don't want..."
"I want to." He chuckled, tucking her chocolate brown hair behind her ear. She shuttered to his fingers linger against her neck for a moment. "Just not tonight. Not like this." He sighed as she nodded her head, wrapping her arms around her own torso, suddenly feeling very naked in her small t-shirt. "I want to." He said again, tugging her arms from her body and rubbing them in calming circles. This is exactly how he didn't want her to react, like he was rejecting her. It was the last thing in the world he wanted was to tell this woman no. But, nothing felt right about it. He wanted their being together to be perfect. To be something she deserved. She deserved everything.
"No, I get it." She said, shaking her head. "I just... The music, and the alcohol, and you looking like that..." She rolled her eyes and shook her head. "Not that that makes a difference because I would have done that same thing with you looking like you, because either way you're fuckin' hot." Raph chuckled, leaning down and kissing her soft lips. She hummed approvingly to him, leaning up and kissing him back. "Stay with me?" She asked against his lips. He nodded his head, pressing his lips to hers. "We won't..." She sighed sadly, but knowing that it was the best decision. "But, just you being here with me, in bed will be enough."
"Thanks for walking me home." Betty smiled, tucking her long ebony hair behind her pierced ear. Her hood from her sweatshirt had fallen back in the motion, letting the wind take her hair from her face. Donnie smiled to the smell, trying to forever embed it into his memory.
"No problem." He shrugged, his hands tucked in his pants pockets. His shoulders hunched against the cold as he pulled his jacket in a little tighter. "It gets pretty weird in this area at night." He mused, looking up and down the street before looking back at the girl before him.
She really was beautiful, in her own way. Her feet that were covered in heavy combat boots shifted nervously against the broken up cement sidewalk. Her outfit was something Donnie wasn't used to seeing a lot of woman in New York wear, especially the woman he was used to being around but, he didn't mind it. Her long, shapely legs were shown off by the lacey stockings and her frame was wrapped up tight in all black, aside from a dark green scarf she wore that was covered in skulls. She wasn't exactly a small girl, she was about the same height as her older sister and possibly a little bigger. She wasn't fat by any means but, she looked healthy. Donnie liked that. He hated the fact that young girls out there might be starving themselves to feel as though they need to fit into society. Actually, all of this brother's had the same thought. He was glad she seemed perfectly comfortable in her own skin.
But, it was her face that had struck him the moment he saw her. Her eyes were a green he had never seen before. They tore into him as their eyes met while she was on stage, positioning her mic into the right where she wanted it. He was about to follow Mikey up the steps when she looked down at him with a smile. His whole body stopped and tensed up. He never felt like that before, even when he first saw April. This was so different, he couldn't understand it.
She introduced herself, reaching out and shaking his hand and he did little to make himself look anything but an imbecile in front of her. He wanted to be confident and funny like Mikey had been but, he was struck. He hated that he would just fall in love so quickly. He hated that every woman that showed him the slightest bit of attention he swooned over but, he couldn't help it. He felt as though this was different. She had to be different.
Her face was pixy like. A turned up nose and rounded, soft cheeks. Her pale pink lips were shaped perfectly, the bottom lip slightly bigger than her top. Her neck was long and graceful and Donnie watched her as much as he could without making it seem overly noticeable as she helped everyone set up the stage.
"Did you wanna come in for a bit?" Betty asked, snapping him out of his daze as he looked up at her smiling face. "It's late and all, but I have tea." She shrugged and he shook his head. Everything in him was telling him to go into that apartment with her, spend just a little bit more time with her but, he knew the serum only had so much longer. He really didn't want to pump himself with it all night just for the sake of some girl that may or may not like him, as him.
"No. Thank you though. I should really be getting back. I need to check on our Father and make sure everything down at the..." He stopped himself shaking his head. "Apartment is alright."
"You live down town?" She asked as he grimaced.
"Kinda... I'll see you later?" He asked, hopeful and she nodded.
"I hope so." She said, stepping closer to him. He could still smell the trace of beer on her breath, but he didn't want to be too much of prude. She had been drinking. Leaning up on her toes she pressed her lips to his. He froze for a moment, his eyes still open as he looked down at her, her beautiful green eyes closed off from him. She turned her head, trying to get him to kiss her back and he finally gave in. His hands slowly moved from their clenched position at his sides to her lower back, gripping the fabric of her thick hoodie. She pulled back slowly, opening her beautiful eyes to his and he felt his heart skip. "I don't usually do that..." She sighed, her brows furrowing in confusion as she stepped back from him. "I-I'm sorry. I don't want you to think I'm..." She shrugged and rolled her eyes.
"I'm not sorry and I don't think of you as anything more than wonderful." Donnie said before he could stop himself. He mentally slapped himself in the face. You sound like a douche. She smiled and laughed a little.
"I would ask you if that was a line, but... Something tells me it wasn't." She said, titling her head at him. "I'm trying to figure you out... All of you and I can't." She shrugged again and took a step up the stoop to her dorm building. "It was a pleasure meeting you Donnie." She said nodding her head once as Donnie let out a breath of laughter doing the same.
"You too Betty."
"Goodnight. Be safe walking back. I hear it's weird around this area this time of night." She said with a grimace as Don laughed again.
"I'll be fine." He said, lifting his hand in a wave.
"I know you will." She called back, as she reached the dorm entryway, watching the handsome man walk into a neighboring alleyway. She sighed to herself entering the building, having her ID at the ready before the Nazis at the front desk berated her with questions.
Donnie whistled to himself as he strolled down the familiar alleyways, making a shortcut from NYU to a sewer that was close to the lair. He could feel the night take toll on him and he was getting tired. He couldn't wait to crawl into his bed and sleep the day away. Leo being with Willow surely wouldn't be home till the afternoon, along with his other brothers.
He liked having the lair mostly to himself. He could watch whatever he wanted without Mikey getting on his case about educational television or Raphael making snide comments about something he was trying to fix in his lab. Splinter was no problem. He kept to himself in his room most of the day and slept for the reminder. He was getting older and Donnie and Leo were both worried about his health but, the old Rat told them not to fret over him so much. He knew his time was coming but, it wasn't yet. It wasn't until he knew all his sons would be taken care of.
A loud thud and rattle of the fire escape over head broke him out of his lazy muse about sleep and relaxation.
He quickly moved to the side of the alleyway, pressing his back tightly to the shadows. He could just make out the shadows above him, talking in hushed voices.
"I don't get why she's making us scan the city for these freaks. We haven't heard or seen them in months." One said to the other. He could hear the clean New York accent to the young woman's voice.
"Well either way we're getting paid so shut the fuck up and do your job." Another hissed. His voice was lower in tone, sounding years ahead of the young girl.
"It was a hellva lot easier with Hun around." Another said, finally stepping into the moon light. Donnie strained his neck to noticed the young man's face. A black hood that covered their faces was hanging loosely behind his neck as he lit up a smoke.
"Well, he's dead so we have to adhere to her and if I was you, I'd listen." The older man said. Donnie heard the groan of the fire escape stairs as he began to climb up them to the roof top. The other two followed.
"I don't get why she's so great?" The girl whispered as the younger man flicked his cigarette down to the alleyway, right in front of Donatello's feet.
"She was like Shredder's daughter or some shit. Whatever, like it matters? We're getting paid right? Let's just find these freaks and head home." The younger man sighed as they followed the older man to the roof top.
"Damnit..." He sighed, reaching into his pocket and dialing Leo.
"Leonardo." He said, groggy and irritated.
"Leo, it's Don." Donnie, looked over his shoulder, making his way down the alleyway to the lair, quicker than he was before.
"What happened?" Leo ask, sitting up in Willow's bed. She groaned next to him, looking over at his bare back.
"What's going on?" She yawned as Leo, reached behind him placing his hand against her cheek.
"They're still looking for us. Karai is sending out young recruits." Don looked over his shoulder once more before leaning down and a manhole cover. Slipping inside as quickly and quietly as he could, he slid the large metal plate back in place. He slid down the metal, grim covered ladder and splashed into the familiar sewage he had known all his life.
"How do you know?" Leo ask, starting to put on some clothing as Willow watched him nervously, getting up to do the same. Leo shook his head, placing a hand on her shoulder and softly pushing her back to the mattress. "I don't know what's going on yet." He whispered to her as she nodded.
"I walked Betty home and was taking the alleyway shortcut back to the lair and heard a fire escape platform ahead of me. I moved to the shadows and listened to three people, I don't know if they're Foot or what but, they're working for someone and they kept saying how they needed to find these freaks for her." He breathed softly, walking through the familiar maze back to his home.
"Were you seen?" Leo asked in a sigh, sitting back down on the edge of Willow's bed.
"No, I made sure of that." Donnie said, pulling the lever that opened the brick doors to the lair. It was quiet with a few lights on that Splinter liked to keep on in case someone made it home before he woke. He smiled at his Father's thoughtfulness and made his way over to his bedroom.
"Good. Are you alright, do you need me..."
"No, no of course not." Donnie laughed softly. "It's nearly daylight. I'm home now and everything is normal. Splinter is asleep and I plan to be soon myself." He yawned as Leo smiled at his little brother.
"We'll figure this all out Don. It'll all come to fruition soon enough." Donnie nodded his head.
"I know it will. We'll have this taken care of." He said as he kicked off his shoes and laid back against his mattress. "Good night Leo." He yawned again as Leo chuckled.
"Good night Don." He said clapping his Shell Cell shut and placing it on the night side table next to Willow's bed. He laid back down beside her as she watched him, her hand holding her head up as she laid on her side.
"So?" She asked as Leo smiled, leaning over to her and kissing her softly on the lips. "What's going on?"
"They're still following us, but with us as humans they have no idea. Karai is having kids and new comers out there looking for us. She's getting sloppy in her age." He sighed, shaking his head and laying back down against his pillow, his arm bend behind his head.
"So, what happens when you're not human?" Willow asked as Leo opened an eye and looked up at her, still hovering over him holding her head up with her hand.
"We won't be while they're looking for us. At least until the wedding is done and over with."
"She doesn't know about me?" Willow asked as Leo sighed and turned towards his soon to be wife.
"No, she doesn't. She's been away for a long time and came back to finish her father's biding. She knows nothing about you or the girls. The only reason she would be suspicions is your connection with April, but for all she knows April is out of the picture too now, after all these years. We have nothing to worry about. Nothing of significance happened." He reassured her, tucking a strand of wild, curly hair behind her ear. He kissed her lips softly again as she relaxed into the mattress. "I love you." He said, tucking his arms around her as she pushed up against his front.
"I love you too Tiger." She said, snuggling against his hard body.
I miss the action. I want to make this story about the boys and their love life but, there has to be some substance to it. I felt as though this chapter was turning into a filler and I hated that thought so I needed to add something at the end. The wedding is coming and I cannot wait to write that but, the in-between will be the hardest so please bare with me. Comments keep my writing! Just a reminder.
