Donatello sat in the spare bedroom he made his own in April and Casey's apartment. The bed he sat up in was covered with computer screens hooked up to his lap top, old note pads and papers with different formulas on them. He typed furiously on the large keyboard over his green lap, trying to figure out a what's been bugging him for months now, a formula that lets him and his brother's stay human longer than a couple hours.
The serum was wearing off in shorter time spans having the boys inject themselves at least five different times a day. Willow was beginning to become mortified watching them pump their bodies with the serum for appeasing people. Leonardo wanted to do this for Willow and Donatello wanted to improve it before the wedding as a sort of wedding present but, it was getting more and more distracting and nearly impossible to work on with his now girlfriend snooping around.
Elizabeth was reluctant to ask Donnie questions about anything and everything. His childhood, where he grew up with his brother's, all normal questions that any girlfriend would ask their new boyfriend. He of course had to lie to an extent but, he hated even that. He was able to avoid some questions but others she was instant on such as, why didn't he go to college, where did a lot of his scars come from, why were some things in their family so secretive. He didn't want to seem as though he was becoming annoyed at her, it was more an annoyance towards himself and not being completely honest with her as she deserved.
Willow keeps telling him to just tell her already, she'll understand. But, Donnie has never felt this way towards a woman before. Of course he had a crush on April and then Willow, but this was different. She liked him back as more than just a friend and she opened up to him which he knew wasn't easy for her. He appreciated it and loved the fact that she trusted him, but would she still after what he has to show her?
He sighed, rubbing his large hand over his face and closing the computer screens around him. The serum was not compatible with any of the chemicals he tried in a way to increase the length of time. If he used anything more than what he created the first time around it would make them all turn, permanently. He hated the thought of that, and so didn't his brother's.
There was a slight knock on the door and he looked up quickly to Splinter with a steaming up of tea.
"How comes the testing my son?"
"Not very good Master, I cannot seem to get the chemicals to coexist correctly with our DNA. It's too strong or too weak, there's no happy medium." Donnie sighed, flipping through an overused notebook.
"Maybe you are thinking too much? You need a break from this." Splinter said waving his arm towards the stacks of mangled papers and computer screens.
"I want to get it right before the wedding."
"Perhaps that is not what fate is willing to transpire?"
"Fate or no, I am the creator of this and I want to make it right." Donnie said with a shake of his head, not looking up from his notebook.
"Being the creator or not of this my son, you are no God." Splinter said with a shrug and closed Donnie's door softly behind him. Donnie sighed, laying back against the headboard and putting an arm over his face.
Maybe he was trying to force something that wasn't able to transpire? Maybe he was getting a little bit of a God complex with this new ability to turn from human to turtle at a whim. He was doing this for Leonardo and his brother's beyond the wedding though, so was it so bad that be wanted to improve it? It was a new lively hood to have their own Dojo to teach kids ninjutsu and keep them off the streets. It would be an amazing thing to not have to keep pumping themselves with the vials of serum. It would be an amazing thing, if he could figure it out.
Rubbing his face hard in his calloused hands he got from his bed, picked up his shell cell. Turning it on he realized that he had about five text messages and two missed calls.
Betty: What are you up too Donnie-Boy?
Betty: I'm gonna to head to Willow's 2nites 4 the festivities around 5 or so. Izzy told me to be there earlier I guess, 4 whateva reason bcuz we're all getting dressed there, again 4 whateva reason. Girl time I guess? Anyways... When are u and the guys having ur male powwow bcuz I wanna see ur handsome face b4 I go out and get drooled on by disgusting men who are not my Donnie-Boy!
Betty: Are you ignoring me Mister?
Betty: OK, u obviously have ur phone off bcuz I called u and heard ur adorably geeky message twice... Sooo... I'll just have u call me later. :)
Betty: I swear I'm usually not this needy. OK bye.
Donnie smiled to himself as he read the message and pressed her number to call. It rang all of two times before she picked up.
"Hello my busy man." She cooed over the line and he felt his face completely heat up.
"Hey."
"Whacha doing?" She asked with a little bit of a breath, sitting back against her bed.
"Calling you." He chuckled as she did the same.
"Whatever smarty pants. When are you heading to Will's?"
"Probably around the same time. Raph and Licia will already be there since they went to go show Usgai the Dojo."
"Yeah... So, what's the deal with this Usagi?" She asked, laying back against her leopard print comforter. "How do you know him? He's Japanese isn't he?"
"Uh, yeah. Kinda..."
"How can someone kinda be Japanese?"
"It's actually a long story... I wanted to ask you if we could talk later on tonight whenever you girls get back from where ever it is you're going."
"OK..." She dragged out slowly, confused and slightly concerned. Usually when men ask to have 'a talk' it never seems to end well.
"It's about me, well... My family and I want to tell you, I've actually wanted to tell you for some time and I just think that I can't hold off any longer. I want to be completely truthful with you..." He sighed to himself, rubbing the back of his green head. "That makes it sound like something bad..."
"Yeah... It does." Betty said, her voice dropping.
"It's not really, though. Well, that's dependent on how you... Um, take it I guess?"
"How I take it?"
"It'll be easier when I tell you..." Donnie sighed again. "I'm sorry Betty I didn't want to ruin your night with this."
"You're not ruining anything. I just hope we're OK."
"I hope so to."
"OK, well now I have a question for you..." She said softly and he hummed on the other line letting her go on with her question. "You're not breaking up with me are you?" She asked, clearing her throat as her foot bouncing up and down against the purple shag carpet beside her dorm bed. She was laying down, getting comfortable before she had to get dressed up and girled out for the night ahead but now, she was sitting up and very alert to whatever Donnie was trying to tell her.
He was the best boyfriend she ever had. He was considerate and nice, beautiful of course but, he was much more than just looks. He was funny, he made her laugh a lot at his geeky talk and their debates on nonsensical things. She could feel herself falling for him day by day and if this was a pre-break up conversation she really didn't want to go out tonight.
"No, God no! Of course not!" Donnie argued, standing up from his bed and covering his face with his hand. "I-I actually think I might be..." He sighed again, shaking his head. "I just want this to supervene before things start to get serious between us. I want them to get serious. I want that so much, but I just can't..."
"Donnie. It's OK." Betty said and he could hear the smile in her voice. "Whatever you want to tell me you can tell me. I have no plans to go anywhere." She chuckled trying to lighten both their moods.
"OK," He sighed, still not feeling any better about the upcoming conversation transpiring this evening. "I'll see you at five o'clock then?"
"Sounds good babe." She said, smiling to herself at the fact that she gets to see him in the matter of hours regardless of what might be said later tonight. Maybe he was in a gang? Maybe him and his brother's were in foster care? Maybe they were on the street for some time which is why he never talked about his childhood home? Maybe it would all turn out alright..."I miss you." She said softly, almost shyly as Donnie couldn't help but smile.
"You can't understand how much I miss you." He sighed, laying back against his bed, crushing notebooks and papers under his shell.
"I think I have an idea." She chuckled as he did back. "I'll see you later Donnie-Boy."
"Bye." Donnie sighed, placing his large forearm over his eyes and sighing to himself. It was going to be a very long night ahead of him and he wasn't ready for it. He needed to be. He wanted to tell her and he needed to tell her if they were going to keep up their relationship.
"So, you're really gonna tell her tonight?" April asked from the doorway. Donnie jumped a little, looking over at her as she sipped on a cup of tea.
"How long have you been there?" He asked as she walked over, sitting on the edge of his bed next to him.
"Long enough. I think it is time Don. She's getting attached as much as you are."
"I hope as much as I am." He sighed. "What happens if she can't handle it?"
"Then she isn't for you?"
"Then who is?"
"Someone out there is Don, and I have a very strong feeling it's her. She's not one to seem as though she cares much about looks and she's gotten to know you for you... Maybe not you persay but, close enough."
"That's what Willow thinks too but, the history I've had with her sibling doesn't seem to be in my favor."
"Izzy is a very... Different woman. She's not anything like Betty, aside from the fact that they're sisters." April shrugged. "If you think the time is right, then it's right. You should do it tonight and see what happens." She paused for a moment, looking down at her sock covered foot then back at Donnie. "Um, have you two... Like..."
"No, no... Not... Yet." He said clearing his throat. "This is awkward. Are you gonna have the talk with me?" April laughed a little with a shrug.
"Has anyone ever?"
"Leo when he started dating Willow and they first... It wasn't really a talk, it was more him explaining what happened and I kind of got the gist of it."
"Yeah, but... You know to be careful."
"I honestly don't think that's a problem April. And, I don't even know if I ever will with Betty. I might die alone and a virgin." He groaned, laying back over the crumpled notebooks.
"You'll see, Betty is a different person and you never know what might happen between you two."
"Thanks April." Donnie sighed, getting from the bed and going into one of his bags to take out a couple vials of serum. "That was kind of good advice." He chuckled lightly as she rolled her eyes, getting from the bed and slapping his large green arm.
"Whatever Donnie-Boy!" She laughed as she left the room.
"Hey Will, do you have any spanx can borrow?" Felicia asked hobbling into Willow's room. Leonardo arched a perfect golden brown brow at the smaller woman trying to shimmy her way into a little black dress while he threw on a white basketball shirt Casey had given him with the arms cut off. Felicia held the dress up to cover herself by her straps, holding her arm tightly around her chest.
Willow laughed at Leo's confused face, taking another pair of spanx aside from the ones she was already wearing from her top dresser.
"Here." Willow chuckled trying to tie the back of her halter top. It was a deep plum color with ruching under the breasts and down the front. She wore a pair of tight black skinny jeans and a pair of black stiletto heels with silver studs down the back with a metallic six inch heel. "You look amazing in that dress." Willow called out with a smile at Felicia who went into Willow's bathroom to dress. She came back out with her back to Willow for her zip it up.
Felicia turned towards the mirror next to Willow, looking at her small frame wrapped in the tight black dress. It was skin tight and had sheer, black fabric down her sides from under her arms to her waist where it came to a point. The back was open to her backside where it curved out over her perfectly shaped behind.
"You sure Raph is gonna let you leave in this?" Willow chuckled as Felicia sat on the bed beside Leo strapping on her leopard print platform stilettos with a thick leather black strap around her ankle.
"Please, let me?" Felicia chuckled. "You should see what he looks like tonight." Felicia hissed rolling her eyes.
"This ones not any better." Willow said thumbing behind herself at Leo who rolled his eyes, sitting on the side of the bed lacing up a pair of white sneakers. Felicia watched him with a shrug, taking in his lean frame. His tone arms and calves exposed underneath the shinny navy blue fabric as Willow tsked, spraying perfume over her wrists and rubbed them against her neck. "They all look like sex walking, its completely unfair."
"You look beautiful too." Leo correct getting up from the bed, kissing Willow's bare shoulder. "And Raph isn't going to let you leave in that." Leo chuckled as Willow turned to him with her arms crossed and eye brow raised. "What?"
"She looks better than me?" Willow asked as Leo rolled his eyes.
"Really?"
"C'mon Willow..." Felicia chuckled. "I do look pretty good!" She said flipping her short, curled hair and walked down the hall into the kitchen.
"You look amazing." Leo said closing the door and locking it. "I don't know if I want to let you leave." He said leaning down and kissing her neck, breathing in the sweet aroma of her perfume. "You're going to a gay bar right?" He asked as she giggled to the feeling of his five o'clock shadow scratching down her neck.
"Y-yes." She stammered as he started walking her backwards towards the bed.
"What kind do you want?" Izzy asked, as Betty took her bag off her shoulder and placed it on the back of one of Willow's kitchen chairs.
"A shot of tequila is good." Betty smiled, looking around the room.
"He's in the bathroom." April smiled sipping her beer with Casey wrapped around her side.
"Oh good." Betty sighed, taking the shot of tequila quickly with her sister. "I'm kinda nervous."
"Why?" Izzy asked pouring another shot for herself and Riley who sat on Michelangelo's lap. All the girls were dressed nicely for Willow's night out.
April wore a pair of black shorts with wedged black heels and a flowy green blouse. Izzy wore a short red skirt, bronze colored heels with a shinny bottom, and a black and white houndstooth patterned tank top with a deep v-neck and open back and a white leather jacket over her shoulders. Riley wore a pair of skinny jeans with rips down the front, opened toed teal colored booties, and a black tank top that is sheer over the breasts and tight down the sides til her waist where it flares out. Mikey's hand touched the open skin at her back where her top cross crossed.
"He apparently has something very important to tell me tonight and I'm just worried about what that might entail." She said, pouring herself another shot.
"It's nothing to be worried about." Riley shrugged, looking over her shoulder at Mikey with a smile. "Trust me, it gets easier when you know how good of a person they are." Mikey smiled back, kissing Riley's cheek.
"So, he's going to tell you the big one?" Izzy asked as Betty looked at her confused. April pushed her with her hip.
"I guess... What's the big one?"
"It's honestly not a big deal Betty." Mikey said, picking Riley easily from his lap and getting up wrapping his arm around Betty's shoulders. "He's still Don, that's all you have to remember." He shrugged, going back over to Riley and kissing the top of her head.
Donnie walked into the kitchen from the bathroom, tucking his Shell Cell into his back pocket and looking up at Betty for a moment, before doing a double take and ranking his eyes slowly up and down her body.
She had on a black dress, short skirt in the front and long in the back. It had little red birds all over the it with a thick leather band under her bust. She wore lace stockings, black with high healed, double strapped Mary-Janes that were blood red. She had a cropped leather jacket with lace sleeves and a red fashion scarf around her neck.
Donnie knew it was going to be a hell of a lot harder trying to tell her the truth while she looked that amazing.
"Hi." Betty said softly, her bright green eyes boring into Donnie's as he walked towards her slowly trying to remind himself that she was real.
"Hey..." He breathed out. She reached her hand out for him and he took it, interlocking their fingers together. He leaned down towards her red stained lips and kissed them softly once.
"Should I be worried?" She whispered softly, before he could lean back from her. He shook his head, kissing the side of her neck and taking in her beautiful scent. It was like lilies and rain mixed together. He wanted to remember it forever encase she decided to walk away from him forever tonight.
"Damn Fee..." Riley whistled, breaking Donnie and Betty from their moment together and handing Felicia a shot of clear liquid for the pre-game drinking all the girls decided to start before heading out to the expensive drinks at the club.
"Whoa!" Izzy said slapping Felicia's backside and retracting it like she got burnt. "Hot momma!"
"Wowzer." Mikey said as Riley closed his dropped jaw with a chuckle. "You look good too babe." He said quickly to Riley, "...But wow."
"No no." Riley said holding up her hands. "I totally agree. Wowzer is a completely appropriate response." She chuckled.
Felicia blushed to all the compliments, waiting for one person in particular to say something but he never did. Raphael just stared at her, hands clenched at his sides never letting his eyes off of Felicia's body. She cleared her throat, going up beside him as slowly as she could and grabbed her beer she left before changing. When she reached for it Raph grabbed her wrist pulling it tightly to his side. She looked up at him, biting her bottom lip as he tugged her body towards him.
"We'll be right back." He breathed before taking her with him quickly out Willow's fire escape window, practically picking her up to pull her up the metal stairs.
He pressed her body against the nearest wall, pushing his face into the side of her neck. Grabbing the back of her thighs he pulled the skirt up and out of the way, lifting her against the side of the building. He pressed his body tightly between her legs holding her tight to the bricks. Her hands gripping tightly onto his taunt, exposed muscle as she held her body up by her legs wrapped around his waist and her back tight against the brick wall. He too was wearing a jersey shirt with the sleeves cut off like his other brother's. It was black with a hockey team logo on the front from Casey and a pair of basketball shorts.
"What the fuck are you wearing?" He growled into her neck. His words muffled against her already moist skin from his mouth licking and sucking against it.
"A-a dress." She struggled to breath out, grinding against him as he pressed her harder to the wall with his hips.
"You're going out in this? I don't think so." He said his voice husky and dark. He bite down softly against her shoulder and her breathing hitched as his lips left her tender muscle.
"Yes?" She asked as he chuckled against her neck. "We're going to a gay bar."
"When they see ya in this they won't be gay for very long." He groaned letting her back down on the roof. Her legs shook a little but, he helped her regain her bearings. She adjusted her skirt and he watched her, shaking his head as she bent down in front of him to fix her heal in her shoe.
"You're killin' me." He groaned and she leaned up quickly, her face turning a slight pink.
"So you like it?" She chuckled as Raph just stared at her again. His chest raising and falling heavily under his tight black shirt.
"You need to leave soon before I throw you over my shoulder and run to your apartment." He growled, pointing a finger at her. She chuckled, walking backwards with her hands up in defense towards the fire escape.
"Alright boys..." Zack said, spinning a basketball on his finger and bouncing it once. All the boys decided to meet up at an old basketball court that Zack used to go to in college. It was in the 'nicer' part of town as Izzy put it. Raphael just scoffed to the comment, it of course going completely over Zack's head. "...What's the game?"
"We can do four against four?" Mikey suggested as Donnie sighed shaking his head.
"There's nine of us. We're an odd number." Donnie said as Mikey shrugged.
"Someone can sit out and play winners?"
"I'll sit out first." Don shrugged as Leo shook his head.
"No, we'll play four against five." Leo shrugged.
"Yeah that's fair." Casey said, rolling his eyes.
"Calm down princess, you can be on our team." Tyler smiled, tossing him a basketball.
"Fine... What are the teams?" Casey asked, looking around at the brother's, Usgai and Zack.
"Rock, paper, scissors?" Mikey shrugged as Raph shook his head.
"No, we'll just pick teams." He scoffed pushing his little brother by the shoulder.
"OK, so pick." Hayden said, twirling one of the balls on his finger.
"You, Mikey, me, Tyler, Casey on one team and Zack, Leo, Usagi, and Donnie on another." Raph said as everyone nodded.
"That sounds good." Leo shrugged. "I do think that Raph and I will do better on the same team though." He shrugged as Raph rolled his eyes, punching his brother in the arm.
"Whatever fearless, you're just scared I might embarrass you before Willow makes a man out of you." Raph chuckled as Leo smirked shaking his head.
"Oh..." Mikey sang, getting louder at the end. "That was cold man."
"So, you were saving yourself for marriage?" Zack asked, almost shocked as Leo snorted a laugh.
"Uh, no. We've uh... No, not saving myself."
"So, what about some other ladies? Want to relive those horrible crazy ex-girlfriends so, you know Willow is the one?" Zack laughed as Leo joined in hesitantly.
"Only one...Um, ex." He said clearing his throat before looking up at his brother's quickly. "She uh, wasn't exactly my type." He said smiling slowly at the end.
"Oh so, you just knew with Willow huh?"
"Yeah, I've known Willow was the one from pretty much the first moment." Leo shrugged.
"Aw..." Casey cooed, putting his head on Mikey's shoulder who joined in. "Can we stop this tea party and play now?"
"Woot woot!" Riley yelled, tossing her hands up and pumping them as all the girls laughed in the back of a luxurious limo that was driving them around all night.
"I can't believe you got a limo." Willow said, shaking her head and looking to the mini bar at her left. The crystal glasses clanked under the beat of the radio that blasted over the girl's chatter.
"Anything for my bestie!" Izzy smiled, nudging Willow's shoulder.
"Uh, do you not remember my sweet sixteen?" Betty said rolling her eyes. "I thought you and dad were gonna rent out all of New York City! It was ridiculous." She laughed as Izzy slapped her sister's knee blowing out air in disapproval.
"Oh please! You loved every minuet of it! You and your pretty pink dress! Oh my God do you remember her dress?" Izzy laughed as the rest of the girls joined in. "She hated that thing!"
"I looked like Princess Peach." Betty laughed out, leaning over onto Riley.
"It was pretty hideous." Felicia chuckled.
The limo stopped in front of a large building with a bright pink neon sign on the busy streets of New York.
"Here we are ladies." Izzy smiled as the driver opened the door for Willow. She stepped out and looked up at the large sign tilting her head in confusion before turning back to her friends.
"The Box?" She asked as all the other girls started laughing. "Why?"
"It's fun!" Felicia shrugged, going to Willow and linking their arms together. "And we won't get drooled on by some disgusting men."
"Well, that's true."
"You know how pissed the guys would be?" Riley asked, taking Betty's hand as all the girls walked into the large building entryway. It was dark and the bass music from the club thudded through the walls. "Mikey told me he was gonna text me every five seconds to make sure no guy was 'all up on my business' as he put it." She said with a roll of her eyes and a giggle.
"Aw, Mikey is overprotective. He gets that from Raph." Felicia chuckled as Willow joined in.
"I think they all are." Willow said with a laugh. "They never used to leave me alone when we first met."
"Donnie isn't that bad." Betty shrugged as they all walked into the large club. It was filled with men and woman, a lot of them dressed in big hair and colorful outfits. Marilyn Monroe was walking around with a tray of drinks in her hand and stopped when she noticed the girls standing in the foray.
"Hello ladies." She smiled a large bright pink lipstick stained smile, putting the tray down on the side of the bar. "Take a seat anywhere I'll be right over."
"Thanks so much." Willow smiled, taking Felicia's hand and walking with her and the other girls down to a large booth near the stage. All the girls slid in, taking their seats for the night observing the dance floor. The place wasn't as busy as they all suspected it would be. A couple of men and woman sat at the bar, but only about two tables were full with people in groups like theirs.
"He isn't?" Felicia asked, adjusting her glasses as she untwisted her dark purple scarf from around her neck and looking at Betty. She looked back at Felicia confused for a moment before smiling.
"Oh...Donnie overprotective? No. Not really..." She shrugged.
"Huh." Willow said, with a shrug, looking towards April who eyed each other carefully. "What do you think April?"
"I think Donnie is a unique individual who needs a lot of love, respect and compassion. He's been through a lot." She said as Willow smirked a little.
"Why?" Betty asked, curiously. "I try and talk to him about that stuff but he kinda ends up changing the subject."
"He's very touchy when it comes to things like that. His past, his family...Earning the respect he deserves from different... People." April shrugged as Betty furrowed her brow.
"Do you think what he has to tell me tonight has something to do with that?" Betty asked, turning her cellphone over and over in her hand almost waiting for him to text her like he knew they were talking about him.
"Yes." Willow and April, along with the other girls all said at once. Betty smiled at all of them, shaking her head.
"So I shouldn't be worried?"
"No." They all said again, laughing after.
"Well, that's good." Betty sighed, taking off her jacket and placing it beside her on the booth. "Oh, look at this! A karaoke book." She said with a smile, sliding the book towards Willow who looked at it with a grimace.
"I'm good." Willow said, sliding it back at Betty.
"Oh whatever, you need practice. Let's see if the song is in here." She shrugged, looking through the book. Willow sighed, shaking her head as the other girls rolled their eyes at her.
"You need to decided whether or not you want to do this song for Leo." Riley said with a shrug, looking around the large club floor for their waitress.
"I know... I just, I'm not going to sing well, I haven't been practicing or..."
"Yes you have and yes you will." Betty sang not looking up from the large binder. "One of your songs is in here by the way."
"Well, I'm not nearly drunk enough for that yet." Willow sighed.
"I'm not drunk enough period." Riley sighed, looking around the room as April chuckled.
"Calm down drunky, she's coming now." April said, waving towards the waitress walking towards their booth.
"Hello ladies." The Marilyn look alike said leaning her hand against the faux marble table. "What are we having?"
"I'll have a grateful dead." Willow said as Betty chuckled.
"I'll have a gin and tonic and a round of tequila shots." Izzy said as Riley wooed.
"That's my girl!" She said, slapping Izzy on the arm. "I'll have a grateful dead too." Riley said with a nod as Betty pointed at her.
"Me too." Betty said as Riley put her hand out for a high five.
"I think I want beer..." Felicia said, squinting towards the bar at what's on tap. "Oh! Red's Apple sounds delightful." She said with a smile turning to April.
"I'll have a coors light, or whatever is on tap." April said with a shrug.
"That's it?" Izzy asked as April chuckled.
"Well that and apparently tequila." She said with a sigh as Izzy nodded.
"Damn right." Marilyn laughed and nodded.
"So, what's the special occasion?" She asked, putting her notepad into her sparkly silver belt around her waist. The woman was beautifully dressed and her makeup was a little over done but, she was the spitting image of Marilyn Monroe, if she was six foot and about two hundred pounds.
"This little lady is getting married." Betty said, putting her arm around Willow who laughed and nodded, putting out her ring hand. Marilyn awed, grasping Willow's hand and holding it up to the purple florescent light.
"We've got a live one ladies!" She called out towards the other 'woman' dressed in various singers costumes around the club, pulling Willow to her feet. Willow's face instantly turned bright red and her shoulders slunk down. "Do we have a picture of the husband to be?"
"Oh yes!" Riley said, taking out her phone. Marilyn leaned over towards Riley as she thumbed through a couple of pictures.
"Who is this blonde Greek God?" She asked as Riley got to a picture of Mikey without a shirt on, flexing his muscles. Riley chuckled, slightly embarrassed that she even had that picture on her phone. It was suppose to be a joke photo, but now looking at it she is rather happy that she has it.
"Oh, hands off! He belongs to me."
"Well, that is a beautiful piece of man." She said, nudging Riley with her large hip.
"This is Leo, her husband to be." Riley said, showing the photo of Leo and Willow smiling together months ago at her mother's house.
"Oh my... It's a good thing you got your claws in that one love." Marilyn said to Willow who smiled.
"He is gorgeous." Willow agreed as April chuckled along with Betty.
"I wanna show off my man!" Betty said taking out her phone as Marilyn rolled her eyes.
"Of course I had to get the man table! You all have a man?" They all laughed and nodded their heads as Marilyn rolled her eyes again. Betty leaned over and showed her a selfie of her and Donnie smiling big on the top of the Empire State Building. They went there days ago because neither of them had ever went and both always wanted to. Donnie of course wanting to go in the day light.
"Where did you all find these men? The fine ass man store?" She asked as Betty chuckled, looking at the picture.
"He is beautiful." Willow nodded, looking at Betty who blushed.
"You have to sing tonight." Marilyn said pointing towards the karaoke book that was still opened in front of Willow. Willow shook her head, looking nervously over at April, hoping at least she would have it in her heart to help her in this situation. Crossing her arms over her large, fake chest Marilyn started tapping her foot, waiting for an explanation. Willow looked down at her friends for help.
"Oh, she's singing." Betty said flipping to the page with Willow's song on it. Marilyn looked, noticing another table motioning her over.
"Sounds good! I'll be back ladies."
"He was nice, pretty too." Izzy said, pulling the karaoke book in front of her and started to flip through it.
"What's wrong with you?" Betty hissed out as Willow shook her head and Riley just chuckled beside Izzy putting her face in her hands.
"What do you mean?" Izzy asked, clearly confused.
"You can't say 'he' is nice." Willow said, leaning into the table with a whisper.
"Why not?"
"Because, she is obviously dressed up as a woman and is doing her job." Betty said, shaking her head in disgust.
"Oh please, they know the difference." Izzy said waving her hand at the girls. April sighed, quickly smiling and nudging her elbow into Izzy's side as Marilyn brought over a large tray of drinks, followed by Tina Tuner who was holding the tray of shots.
"Here we are ladies." Marilyn cooed, placing the drinks down in front of the girls. Tina then placed the tray of shots in the middle, placing her hand on her hip.
"Thank you." Izzy said, taking a sip of her gin and tonic, smiling to the taste. "Perfect."
"Oh please girl, I can make a gin and tonic in my sleep." Tina said, holding out her hand for Izzy to slap. Izzy did with a giggle. "So, we're having a bachelorette party tonight?" Tina asked, looking towards the stage as Izzy passed out all the shots. Tina lifted up her hand and cued the DJ, "Well..." She said, as a spot light hit her and Marilyn handed her a microphone. "Does he know about... R.E.S.P.E.C.T. Find out what it means to me. R.E.S.P.E.C.T take care of T.C.B..." All the girls got to their feet, Betty sliding behind Willow to get in front of her with Tina. Tina smiled, taking her hand and bringing her onto the small pink stage.
"You guys lost, accept it as a part of life. We're better than you!" Mikey laughed as all the guys returned to Willow and Leo's apartment.
"Yeah, yeah. Take it easy Mikey." Leo chuckled, rubbing his brother's blonde head. "We were out numbered."
"Yeah, and you had Donnie." Raph chuckled as Donnie sighed, walking into the apartment last.
"I made more baskets than you did Raph, if I remember correctly?" Donnie defended as Raph turned, crossing his large arms.
"You really wanna start with me brainiac?" He asked as Donnie rolled his eyes, walking past Raph to the bathroom.
"Excuse me."
"You know he has a lot on his mind man." Mikey said softly to Raph as they watched Donnie slip into the bathroom.
"I know, I thought..." Raph sighed and shrugged. "I don't know, lightin' the mood?" He almost asked as Mikey chuckled.
"That worked out well. You're about as light as a hippo."
"So, what do you guys say? We change and head to a club?" Zack asked as Tyler and Hayden both nodded in agreement.
"Sounds good man."
"We should go to that club Riley told us about." Mikey said as Hayden snorted.
"You having withdrawals already?"
"No... Just a suggestion." He said, going in the fridge and grabbing a beer.
"I wouldn't mind checking up on Willow." Leo nodded, looking over at Usagi who nodded as well.
"It would be interesting to observe in this City's night life." Usagi said with a smirk.
"Izzy was telling me to take you there when we were done." Zack sighed, shaking his head with a smile. "I guess she'll get her away once again."
"She's a very persuasive woman." Donnie chuckled, coming out of the bathroom with a dark gray button up dress shirt and dark wash jeans.
"Is it in the bathroom?" Raph whispered over to Donnie who nodded discreetly to him.
All the guys changed one at a time, needing a certain aspect of privacy from Zack. They all eventually made their way to The Box club after a couple more of beers. Leo even broke down and had one after Mikey threatened to spill it on his head.
"We should sit in the back so they don't see us." Mikey said to Leo over the pounding bass as the guys all made their way down the long corridor to the dance floor. Leo nodded, looking over his shoulder at all the guys that were with them shaking his head. It was still a sight to see his brother's as humans. He always looked behind him and expected to see his brother's familiar green faces and then is met with their human forms. It always leaves him taken a back.
They all entered the club to Betty and Izzy on stage singing a new song that Izzy has been singing around the house lately. Zack smiled to the familiarity of it, sliding into a booth in the back of the club with the other men. Donnie watched Betty carefully. Her voice was still clear and precise indicating that she hadn't drank as much as he expected she would. She was worried about tonight, and when she's worried her intake of alcohol is usually high. He was glad she took it easy tonight and wouldn't be drunk for what he had to tell her. If he still was going it, he really hadn't decided yet.
"Do whacha want, whacha want with my body. Do whacha want, don't stop let's party..." The girls sang in unison, swinging their hips to the lyrics.
The song ended and everyone in the club started clapping with some 'woos' thrown in. Tina got back on stage, clapping and giving Betty a hug as she stayed on stage.
"That was the Sister O'Hare singing like true Divas the Diva version of that song. I can think of a lot of things to do to ya'lls body!" Tina said as Betty chuckled on the side of the stage. "I was told that Miss Betty has another song for us." She said, holding her hand out for Betty to come center stage. "I'ma tell you something right now girl, you're the only bitch I let sing this many songs and cut into my performance." Tina laughed as Betty followed.
"It's for my friends wedding!" Betty yelled, leaning towards the mic as the girls from the table all hooted and hollered.
"That's why I am allowing it!" Tina laughed, giving Betty the mic. Betty placed it in the stand and looked at the DJ.
"This song is for my friend Willow and her soon to be husband." Betty chuckled. "Your love is bright as ever. Even in the shadows. Baby kiss me, before they turn the lights out..." The beat started to get heavier and Betty swayed her hips to the music.
Donnie watched her on the stage in her outfit she insisted on wearing. He did ask her to change as a joke but, really meant it. Especially now watching her on stage with the lights, moving her hips the way she was. He couldn't help but listen hard to the lyrics and he swore at least twice they made eye contact and she smiled, knowing he was there. Like, she could feel him watching her.
The song ended and this time he knew she was making eye contact with him because she smiled, largely at him. He smiled back and she walked off stage. Sliding into the booth she pulled out her phone. A few moments went by before his phone vibrated in his pocket.
Betty: Well hello there handsome. He smiled at the text quickly responding.
Donnie-Boy: You sounded amazing as usual.
Betty: I try. Should I tell them u're here? I'm assuming u sat in the back 4 a reason? He looked up at her and noticed her giggling at her own text before looking up towards Donnie's table. Their eyes met and her face broke into an even wider smile.
Donnie-Boy: Please don't. I think it would ruin Izzy's evil doings.
Betty: Will do. ;) Ttyl. Hopefully all good things.
Donnie-Boy: Always good things when it comes to you.
"Who are you texting?" Izzy said, sipping on her drink. Betty rolled her eyes.
"Who do you think?" Riley chuckled.
"Did he tell you yet?" Izzy asked as Willow tsked.
"Really? Through a text?" Willow asked, rolling her eyes as Izzy shrugged.
"I don't know."
"No, he didn't tell me yet." Betty sighed. "You sing one." She said after a moment, taking a long pull of her drink and turning to Willow with a smile.
"I'm going to." Willow shrugged, looking through the karaoke book.
"Which one?" Betty asked, moving her shoulders to the song Tina was belting out on stage.
"I'm thinking... Do you wanna touch by Joan Jett?" Willow shrugged, pointing out the song in the book as Betty nodded with a smile.
"That's amazing! You need to do that song! Riley, what are you singing?"
"I don't know yet." Riley shrugged, sipping on the ice at her now empty drink. "I'm not really a singer..." She chuckled as Willow grimaced and nodded. "I can rap something?" She added.
"What if we do Acapella by Karmin together?" Willow asked as Riley laughed.
"That sounds excellent!"
"I can't believe you guys were there the whole time!" Felicia said, slapping Raphael's arm for the third time as everyone walked together back to Willow and Leo's apartment building.
Raphael laughed, dodging out of the way of her hit before wrapping his arm around her small shoulders.
"It was cute babe." He shrugged, leaning down to her so only she could hear. "You don't have a bad voice." He chuckled as she clicked her tongue and slapped him again.
Everyone else was in their own conversations as they walked ahead. Usagi, Leo and Willow all walked in the front, talking about Usagi's home land. He was careful to make it sound like a different country instead of a different dimension. Riley had her arm tight around Mikey's waist as she, Tyler and Hayden all stumbled down the side walk, singing a Justin Timberlake song that Hayden had sang after a few shots Tyler, Casey and Zack had taken. Izzy and Zack walked together, their heads huddled in personal conversation. Casey and April walked behind Leo, Usagi and Willow to give them some space from Willow's rapid fire questions and Donnie and Betty walked in the back of the group.
They was no conversation between them. They both walked in silence, neither one touching the other. Donnie was beginning to worry that she had already given up on him and Betty as preparing herself for a break up. He hadn't texted her since she noticed him and his brother's come into the club. She wanted to keep texting him, but she had no idea what she wanted to say. She wanted to ask him a million questions about what he wanted to talk to her about but, she knew he wasn't going to say anything til he was ready. Her songs throughout the night kept becoming less and less upbeat. The mixture of her alcohol and her cellphone not going off with a notification of a text message made her mood somber. She look up and over at Donnie ever so often as they walked. Occasionally their eyes would meet and they'd both dart the glaces away quickly. It was awkward and uncomfortable and Betty hated it and Donnie wasn't too keen on it either. This wasn't them.
They're relationship had been so simple. Conversations between them were so easy it would just flow out for hours. Donnie never had that kind of connection with anyone before, especially not a woman. Especially not a beautiful woman. Betty had many relationships but, none like Donnie. He was wonderful and different. He was kindhearted and so thoughtful. He'd always know the right thing to say and never once doubted her or put her down, even if she was wrong. He'd correct her but, it never made her feel stupid. She had been with many other men, boys that would make her feel less than she was worth. She told herself that she would never again be with a boy like that. Donnie definitely wasn't that type of man.
Before they knew it everyone was climbing up the stairs to Willow and Leo's apartment. They looked at each other shyly before Donnie opened his arm, welcoming her to go first. She nodded at him with a small smile before climbing the stairs after the group.
The group broke up into two to take the elevator up. Betty and Donnie got in with Felicia and Raphael. Felicia looked over at Betty, who's head was down and she chewed nervously on her bottom lip. The silence in the elevator was thick with discomfort. Donnie and Raph both shared silent conversation that Felicia tried for the life of her to decipher and failed miserably. Raphael's head would shake and Donteallo's eyes would squint and glare before his face relaxed and his eyes would roll at whatever Raphael had told him.
Adjusting her glasses and clearing her throat Felicia opened her mouth to ask Betty a question as the bell to Willow's floor dinged. She sighed, looking up at Raph who glared at Donnie, watching him walk out of the elevator with Betty following closely behind him.
"What was that about?" Felicia asked in a whisper as Raph shrugged.
"Nothin'." He looked down at Felicia and her glaring response, not buying it. Raph sighed, rolling his eyes. "It's a brother, slash ninja thing." He shrugged again, walking into Willow and Leo's apartment.
"So..." Betty slowly said as she and Donnie stood on Willow's roof top by themselves. The others had stayed down in Willow's apartment by orders of Leo to leave Donnie and Betty alone.
"Yeah..." Donnie said, snatching the back of his neck nervously. "I guess I have something to tell you."
"I'd think so." Betty said, both of them standing a few feet away from each other, Betty bracing her hands behind her back against the brick ledge.
"It's nothing bad... Well, I hope you don't think it's bad? It's complicated. I don't want you to leave, or... Be afraid OK? It's still me, I'm just..."
"What? What do you need to tell me? Why would I be afraid?" Betty interrupted as Donnie started to feel a tug on his back. He sighed, stepping away from Betty.
"It's more of me showing you than, telling you." He said, leaning forward a little as he felt the transformation start. "Just promise me, you won't scream." He said, looking into her eyes. She was noticing that he seemed as though he was in pain and started towards him. He held a hand up keeping her where she was. "Promise me." He said, through clenched teeth.
"I promise. Donnie, what's going on?"
"I-I'll be right back." He said, going behind a large brick chimney. Betty furrowed her brow, starting towards it slowly as she heard Donnie sigh. A large shape moved in the shadows next to the chimney and Betty tilted her head, trying to get a better look through the darkness.
"D-Don, are you sure you're OK?" She said, nervously. She didn't know what was happening and now a whole new slue of questions flooded into her mind.
"Better..." He chuckled lightly, his breathing still labored. "Just, don't... Scream."
"Why would I scream?" She asked, stepping closer to the shadow as he started to slowly step out.
"I am not exactly who I said, or I guess showed you I am..." He said, as the moon light started to expose his larger, green body.
Betty stepped back, her eyes widened as she watched a large turtle emerge from where Donnie had went. She looked him over, his arms bending forming into large biceps as he tied a purple colored piece of cloth around his eyes. They finally looked up into hers and her heart leaped nervously into her throat. They were Donnie's eyes. His beautiful hazel, gray stormy eyes. She was so confused. How could this have even happened? Her mouth opened to ask the question out loud but, nothing came out other than a soft squeak.
"Hey..." He said softly, lifting up a large three fingered hand. "I know this seems... Weird, but this is me." He said, clearing his throat as Betty still stood, her mouth open and closing like a fish out of water and eyes wide. "I wanted to tell you... I just, I mean how could I have done that? I mean... Looket me. I'm not exactly... Normal and..."
"You're all like this?" She finally spoke, her voice cracking as Donnie furrowed his brow.
"My brother's and I?" He ask as she nodded. "Yes."
"Willow... She..."
"Knows, yes. Everyone does aside from you and Zack. Well, I suppose Zack now. And Willow's family."
"H-How did..."
"I created a serum..."
"Y-y-you created a..."
"Yes."
"It turns you into..."
"A human, yes. All of us. For only a certain number of hours then it wears off and we're back to our normal form."
"H-h-how did you... I-I mean, you're a turtle... Y-you're all... And Willow, the girls, they all know and accept this... I don't...I mean, I can't... Wh-what does this mean exactly?"
"It means whatever you want it to?" Donnie said, his voice catching as he felt tears start to prickle in his eyes. She was already rejecting him. He could feel it. She was freaked out and at least she didn't scream but, he would have taken that over this feeling of complete self loathing.
"I-I don't..." She turned her head to Felicia coming up the fire escape with Raphael. He also was in his normal form. He stood behind Felicia, arms crossed and looking at his brother. Donnie shrugged a little and Raph nodded, his dark eyes glaring back at Betty.
"How's it going?" Felicia asked softly as Donnie cleared his throat with a shrug. "Zack and Izzy left and I just wanted to check on Betty... If you wanna go home I can take you?"
"N-no I don't want to go anywhere." Betty said shaking her head. "I think we need a little more time."
"OK. If you need anything, just come get me." She said softly as Betty nodded, looking back towards Donnie.
"So, this whole time?" Betty said, her voice a little clearer and her hands a little less shaky. Her mind was still a little fuzzy on the whole process of it, but she could learn to accept this. It was still Donnie. His voice and kind eyes were still Donnie's... He was Donnie, her Donnie-Boy.
"Yes."
"How?"
"Which part?" He asked, with a soft chuckle, trying to break the ice. Betty didn't crack a smile.
"You're a turtle. How?"
"Our Master, Splinter was a human once... Hamato Yoshi. He was turned into a rat by a mutagen created by a company called T.C.R.I. He found us, the four of us in the mutagen as turtles and we turned into this..." He said motioning towards his body. "He taught us ninjutsu and how to speak, read, write. We created a life for ourselves under New York for all these years and helped fight crime for the city." He shrugged.
"So, you live in the sewers?"
"It's actually an old subway station that leads to our lair which is a large open space that we've made our own. Which is why it's going to be easy to create Leo's Dojo. We've done it time and time again. Our lair has been found many times by... Well, that's a story for another time I suppose." Donnie sighed, rubbing the back of his head and leaning his shell back against the brick apartment complex wall, crossing his legs at the ankle.
"By who?" Betty asked, her mind over flowing with questions. He was a vigilantly? Him and his brothers? Raph she could understand but, Donnie? Leo? Even Mikey? It didn't make sense. He was a fighter and as soft spoken and smart as he was? Her heart started to pound in her chest as she thought about him fighting someone. She was worried and excited at the same time. It was overwhelming and confusing and kind of wonderful.
"Well, have you ever heard of Oroku Saki?" Donnie asked, looking up at her from under his eye ridges. She smiled at the gesture. He'd done this so many times it was hard now not to believe he really was her Donnie-Boy.
"Yeah, he was that Japanese millionaire guy that died a couple years back wasn't he?"
"Yeah, well he was. He was also our enemy and creator of the Foot Ninja clan that has been trying to kill us since we were teenagers."
"...Wow." Betty sighed, her arms that were bracing herself giving out as her body fell back against the ledge. She kicked her feet out in front of her and crossed them, then her arms before looking up at Donnie. Her Donnie. She couldn't think, it was too much. She was glad she didn't have a lot to drink. "So... This is you?"
"This is me." He shrugged.
"I..." She sighed and looked him up and down more carefully. He was very fit, as his body was before and the height was the same. His voice and mannerisms were all the same. Should she really be this thrown off just because he's a giant mutant turtle? "My boyfriend is a mutant ninja turtle?" She asked as he smirked a little and nodded.
"I suppose so." He sighed, walking a little closer to her. He noticed that she didn't move, so he moved closer leaning next to her on the ledge of the roof top. "What are you thinking? You have to tell me." He asked after a few moments of silence as she stared at her shoes. She jumped a little out of her daze and looked over at him.
"It's going to take some getting used to." She shrugged, turning her body towards his. She reached out before she could let herself think it through and touched his skin. It felt tight under her soft palm. It was similar to his human skin, just a little more rough. She noticed the light pink, familiar scars over his forearms and biceps, tracing them with her finger tip. "You fought a lot?" She asked softly, her eyes looking up to his. They were tearing into hers with so many questions behind them.
"A lot. Yes." He said with a nod. "We've been fighting since we were teenagers."
"You use weapons?" She asked, her eyes going back to her finger as it touched his plastron. She traced along the edges, up to his chest plate finally touching the skin underneath his neck noticing scars there as well.
"A bo staff." He said softly. He was amazed she was touching him. She wasn't scared or freaking out. He was feeling almost giddy at the prospect of her not ending their relationship. She might actually want to try and work it out. That was amazing to him. This could possibly be the greatest night of his life.
She smirked a little, moving her finger down to his other arm, letting her hand open along it to feel his tight muscle. She felt herself getting a little excited at the idea of this. He was a secret. He was dangerous. Her dorky, geeky Donnie was dangerous. He could fight and used weapons and was smart enough to create a serum that was able to change his brother's and himself into humans? He wasn't just smart, he was a genius. That in itself was sexy.
She could still see him as sexy. She smiled at the idea of it, letting it roll around in her head as she took in his dark green skin. He was still sexy.
"I am starting to get used to it." She breathed, turning to him and pressing her chest against his plastron. Her heart started to pound faster in her chest as her eyes climbed up his chest and neck to his hazel eyes. Her Donnie's eyes.
"Y-you are?" He asked, opening his arms to her as she smirked, moving both of her hands up his arms and around to the back of his neck.
"I am." She nodded with a smile letting the fabric of his bandana slid between her fingers. "I just need some clarifying evidence that you are my Donnie-Boy." She smiled as he did back. "I mean, my Donnie isn't exactly a fighter." She shrugged.
"What exactly would this clarifying evidence entail?" He asked as she leaned up on her toes, pressing her lips against his mouth. He clenched the fabric of her dress at the small of her back, pulling her body closer to his. He lifting her up easily off her feet, kissing her deeper as her feet dangled from the ground. She pulled back with a smile.
"You're strong." She chuckled as he did back.
"You're beautiful." She blushed and he set her back down on her feet. "So... Are we?"
"Still dating?"
"Yeah..." He said, rubbing the side of his neck nervously. She smiled at the familiar gesture.
"Yes." She said, kissing his mouth once more. "I can't see a reason why we still wouldn't be. I am attracted to you Donnie, not just your looks... Or I suppose your human looks. Not that this is..." She sighed, letting her hands wonder down his strong arms again, watching the muscles twitch under her palms. "This is new and... Interesting, not in a bad way at all. We get along, I've never met someone I get along with better. You know me better than a lot of people and now I feel like I know you... I do know you right?"
"Yeah, better than Raph and Mikey do."
"Not Leo?"
"No, Leo knows everything. He can't not know. He has this very unnerving way of getting anything out of me. It's really unsettling."
"That's like my mom." She laughed. "I'm calling him mother hen from now on." Donnie laughed too.
"I'm pretty sure Willow already does."
"How long have you known Willow? Did she know right away?" She asked, leaning her body against his. It was strong and warm as he wrapped his large green arms around her waist. She felt so comfortable and safe. It was amazing.
"Still the five years, I didn't lie about everything." He sighed as she chuckled, looking up into his familiar eyes. "She knew right away. We actually saved her from some thugs one night when she was taking Boba for a walk."
"Wow, and you guys just kept coming around?"
"Yeah, pretty much. She got along with all of us very well... Well, not Leo at first." He chuckled as Betty furrowed her brow and stepped back from him.
"Really?"
"Yeah, it took them both forever to finally figure out that they liked each other."
"I really hate you right now." Willow groaned as she tried to look up the stairs of the fire escape from the large bay window of her living room. Leonardo chuckled lightly from the couch where he, Raphael and Michelangelo sat watching Willow and Felicia pace in front of the them.
"They need their space." Leo said with a shrug. Riley nodded, sitting beside Mikey, her feet perched on his green, strong thighs.
"He's right guys. Betty isn't like that, she'll be able to figure it out." Riley shrugged.
"Yeah, but..." Felicia started as Raph sighed, getting to his feet and pulling Felicia with him to sit down on his lap.
"Maybe we should go check on them again." Willow asked, going to open the window as Leo grabbed her hand to stop her. She glared up at him, taking her hand back from his. "Hate you." She hissed, crossing her arms and looking back up the stairs.
"I love you too babe." He chuckled kissing her forehead. Leo took her hand and sat in a chair bringing her down with him. "They're coming down."
"How do you..." Before Felicia could finish Donnie knocked lightly on the window. Betty was across his arms, her head perched on his shoulder fast asleep. Mikey and Riley got up and helped Donnie open the window.
"Whacha do Don? Scare her so much she passed out?" Riley asked with a chuckle as he rolled his eyes.
"Hardy har. No, she feel asleep." He said, lifting Betty higher in his arms.
"She can take my room." Riley said, nodding towards her room as Donnie followed her. "How'd she take it?" She whispered as Donnie placed Betty against Riley's mattress. She hummed and turned over in the bed.
"Very well." He smiled, looking down at her sleep. "We're still going out." He shrugged as Riley let out a scream of excitement clapping her hands over her mouth from waking up Betty. Donnie looked back at her in shock before she started laughed.
"Sorry." She whispered. "That's amazing though! Aren't you happy?" She excitedly whispered, grabbing onto Donnie's shoulders and shaking them as Donnie smiled big.
"Very."
