This next scene was inspired by events that happened on Monday Night Raw on 9/8/14. Seth was helping Randy Orton in his match against Roman Reigns, as he was making his way back in the ring. He was almost impaled by the steel cage coming down on the ring, however due to his awareness of his environment and quick reflexes, he moved himself out of harms way. What you are about to read is my little twist on it. I hope you enjoy. Thanks! :ppp
It had been a couple of weeks since Summer Slam and the tension between him and The Raven only seem to get worse. It had gotten to the point that even though they were together all the time it was as if they were alone. The easy going nature of their relationship was strained. They really didn't say much to each other, there were many gaps of silence between them, which before was never the case. They hadn't made love in weeks and when she would try to touch him, he would pull away. He didn't mean to hurt her feels. Seth tried to be understanding but he couldn't help but feel rejected by The Raven's inability to tell him she loves him. Her fear was stronger than their love.
He turned and looked at the clock on the night stand, the red numbers read 12:30. They had gone to bed at 10pm after watching a movie but he couldn't sleep and he knew by her breathing pattern that The Raven was not asleep either. They had Monday Night Raw tomorrow well actually later on today and they needed to get some rest because they were both going to be part of the main event.
He turned his head to his other side and looked at The Raven. She was resting on her back with her eyes close and not one part of her body was touching his. It was only a couple of weeks ago that the only way either could sleep was having their bodies mingling together and the heat of their bodies providing them comfort.
That was it, he had, had enough it was as if he was sleeping with a stranger beside him instead of the woman he loved. He sat up and turned on the lights. He looked over at The Raven, she was sitting up rubbing her eyes.
"Seth are you ok? Is something wrong?", she asked with concern.
"Yes something is wrong. What the hell is going on with us? Why are you sleeping far away from me? Are we breaking up?", he asked with frustration and uncertainty.
She had been wondering the same thing lying there next him. They hadn't really talked and Seth hadn't been very approachable. "I don't want to break up but you have been making it very clear that you don't want me touching you. Your the one that has been angry with me and I don't know what to do.", her voice was filled with sadness.
Seth could see the pain and misery in her eyes and the unleashed tears. "I am not mad at you Raven, I am hurt because you are afraid of me doing something to you that will hurt you. You don't trust me enough to say or give me your love.", he said gloomily.
The Raven gasp, she was shocked by what Seth had said. She scooted her body closer to his and reached out to hold his face between her hands. "I am not afraid of you Seth, I am afraid for you."
Seth looked at her confused, "What do you mean?"
"I don't want another gravesite to visit.", she said with a lump in her throat.
The realization finally dawned on Seth, she was not afraid of him hurting her, it was him dying on her that scared her. "Raven I am not going anywhere?", he said reassuringly.
"That's what Apollo said and he came back in a wooden box.", The Raven said as she started to cry. Seth crushed her to his chest as she cried harder. He just held her and rubbed her back offering comfort. When she finally stopped, he said, "Raven, we are both in the same business. The only thing you have to worry about is me getting injured and one that could possibly end my career." Seth paused for a moment, happy to be holding her and feeling her in his arms. "Look we are both tired and need to get some rest for tomorrow, let's call a truce until we have time to sort this out. Ok?"
It felt good to be held by him to feel his closeness. "Yes", she agreed, looking up at him. He leaned down and kissed her gently and then passionately. When the kiss ended he leaned over to turn off the lights. He re-positioned their bodies, so they were in a spoon position both were content and quickly fell asleep.

Kane, Seth, The Raven and crew members were waiting in the guerilla area for the signal from Randy for them to come out and help with his match. It was part of the script for tonight's main event, the crew members were there to help lock the steel cage in place so Roman could not escape the apparent beat down that Seth, Kane and Randy were going to give him. Seth and The Raven stood side by side holding hands, their fingers intertwined with the other, as they watched the screen waiting for the signal. Kane stood behind them shaking his head with a smirk on his face, watching as they held hands. He was glad they made-up. He didn't like seeing the conflict between them. He could not believe how attached these two were, neither could stand to be more than a couple of feet from other without making contact, when in the same room.
The signal was finally given, Seth gave The Raven a peck on the cheek before they both released their hold on the other, taking their spots before going out to the arena to help Randy. Kane and Seth made their way into the ring to aid Randy. Randy gave the signal to lower the cage over the ring.
The Raven stood outside the ring watching the fight ensue. Roman realized he was about to be trapped with all three men and began to fight back, following the script. He grabbed Kane and threw him out of the ring. Kane landed near The Raven's feet. She bent down to help him get up off the ground, she looked over to her right as she saw Seth flying out of the ring a few feet in front of her. He landed on his side and immediately jumped up and lifted up the ring's skirt to pull a steel chair out from under the ring. He looked up at The Raven and gave her his most flirtation grin and winked at her. She couldn't help shaking her head and smiling back at him, in the middle of all this chaos, he still took the time to clown around.
She turned back to Kane, he was finally standing up and ready to go back into the ring. The Raven looked up and saw as the cage was coming down at a rather steady pace, the guys needed to get back in before the cage came completely down. The Raven looked over at Seth and saw him having trouble trying to lift his body and the steel chair at the same time, so he tossed the chair in front of him and then hoisted his body up onto the apron, he was about to start crawling toward the bottom rope, making his way back in the ring.
She looked up again and her heart stopped as she realized Seth was directly under one the spikes used to lock the cage in place. Seth was about to be impaled. The Raven didn't think, she just reacted, she screamed his name and ran toward him. By the time she reached him, the spike was a couple of inches from penetrating his back. She grabbed him by his sides and pulled him to the right.
Seth heard someone scream his name and then felt someone pulling him, he turned to see who it was, no one had told him about a sneak attack. Suddenly everything seemed to go in slow motion. His eyes widen as he saw the spike, his body had just barely cleared it, he was pushing off the apron so the cage would not land on him, at the same time watching in horror as the spike ripped through The Raven's suit and tearing into her left triceps. As Seth landed on all fours, his body facing the opposite direction of The Raven, he heard her shriek in pain behind him.
The Raven had never felt such pain, it was like hot rod iron burning through her arm, the pain was so intense her vision was blurred and she was having a hard time breathing. Seth turned his head toward her direction and saw as she stumbled back from the ring with her right hand covering her wound with blood seeping through her fingers. Seth froze for a moment in fear as he saw her hit the barrier with her back and slide to the floor.
He immediately and as fast as he could crawled toward her, with panic in his voice he called to her "Raven?" She looked up at him with bewilderment, confusion and then pain in her eyes, her face was pale and blood was profusely coming out of the wound now. "Seth ", she whimpered weakly, her breathing was erratic. Seth didn't know what to do or how to help her, he was afraid to touch her, that he might hurt her more.
Suddenly Kane was beside her, he had saw what had happened. He stood shocked for a couple of seconds at what he had just witnessed, his mind trying to wrap around what had just happened was real and not part of the show. Once he heard Seth call her name, he snapped out of it and went to her side. He could not see how badly she was hurt because the material of the jacket and her blood were covering the wound. "Where the hell are the medics?" Seth asked with impatience, as he looked around for them. "Seth! SETH!" Kane yelled at the younger man, once he had his attention. "You have to pick her up and take her to the back. The medics will be waiting for you." Someone had obviously not given the signal that they needed help, they must not realize how serious the situation was, but Kane knew there was always medical personnel on stand by in the back in case of an emergency.
"But Kane what if I hurt her." Seth anguishly said as he looked at The Raven. She was pale except for her black hair, red lips and hazel eyes, she wincing and groaning in pain.
"We don't have time to wait, take HER NOW!", Kane barked. Without hesitation Seth as gently as he could, gathered The Raven in his arms. She whimpered and moaned a bit as he lifted her up. Kane put her good arm around Seth's neck, he watched for a moment as Seth made his way to the back, before returning his attention to the events in the ring.
She cling to him and he felt her body trembling in his arms. Her face was buried in the contours of his neck, as he walked and then began to run up the ramp. "Seth it hurts, it really hurts." she whispered against his neck. He was almost there. "I know sweetheart. Everything is going to be ok, I am going to get you help." he tried to soothe her, not wanting her to hear the fear and panic in his heart. The Raven took deep breaths trying to clear her mind, but it was near to impossible with the severe throbbing pain coming from her arm.
Once Seth rounded the corner that led backstage the medics were there, they looked up in surprise. "Where the hell were you guys?", he roared. "Can't you see she needs your help?"
They immediately, snapped to attention. They did not know there was a problem, they hadn't received a signal that they were needed. Seth placed The Raven softly on the gurney in a sitting position. The two medics approached her, "What happened?"
"A spike from the cage cut the inside of her arm as it was coming down", Seth explained, all the while holding her other hand. One of the medics was gently laying her down on the gurney, while the other started to move the gurney to their station.
"No", The Raven said and sat up instantly, but they did not listen to her. "NO! STOP!", She shouted as loud as she could, everyone stopped all eyes were on her. The Raven looked at Seth, she could see the worry in his big brown eyes. "You have to go back out there and finish" she said quietly. "No I am not leaving you.", he replied forcefully. She pulled her hand out of his grasp and placed it on his bare chest. "Seth, there is nothing you can do for me, you will only be in the way of the medics as they help me." , she plead with him as she gave him a slight nudge in the chest.
Seth grasp her face between his hands "Your hurt, I am not going any where."
The Raven tried to make Seth see reason, "We wait our entire careers to be part of the main events, you have to go back out there and finish."
"She's right." Both turned in the direction of the voice and saw it was John Cena as he made his way out of the crowd that had formed around them and stood by The Raven.
"But I can- " Seth began only to be interrupted by John.
"Look we're entertainers first and you have a show to finish." , John said.
Seth looked from one to the other, unsure as to what to do. He did not want to leave her but he knew it was important to finish.
"Seth, for me, do it for me", she pleaded with him. She did not want to be the reason his career was cut short or opportunities taken from him. She wanted him to reach his full potential .
"I will take care of her and make sure she gets the help she needs.", John added.
Seth closed his eyes and took a deep breath "OK, ok, I will be right back."
The Raven gave him a weak smile, "I'll be here waiting." He leaned forward and gently kissed her on the lips. He released her and started to walk backwards toward the arena, he looked at John. "Take care of her. Do you hear me? Take care of her!" he demanded.
"I will don't worry." John said reassuringly.
Someone had thrown a towel at his chest, he looked down and could see her blood on his torso, he used the towel to wipe it off. He looked one more time in her direction, he could see the medics lowering her down on the gurney and her shaking her head yes to whatever question they were asking her. Seth closed his eyes and took a deep breath and ran back out to the arena to help Kane and Randy.
"He is gone now, so tell us how you actually feel?", the medic could see she was holding herself together for Seth's benefit. "I feel really light headed and I am having a hard time trying to stay awake.", The Raven said feebly. "And of course the pain." Cena could see the look of concern that flashed on the faces of the medics, it was not a good sign. They finally got her to their workstation. They used scissors to cut the material of her suit to get a better look at her wound. They worked on her for a couple of seconds before deciding it was in her best interest to get her to the local hospital as soon as possible.
Hunter and Stephanie had made their way to the back to find out what was going on. There was no signal given that there was an emergency but they all saw as Seth lifted The Raven up and run up the ramp to the back. "What's going on?", Hunter demanded as he entered the makeshift workstation the medics were using. He could see The Raven laying on a gurney her arm bloody and her face and skin were pale with John Cena standing beside her. One of medics turned to Hunter and explained how she was hurt. "Mr. Helmsley we need to get her to the hospital. Her wound will not stop bleeding, plus she has lost a lot of blood. She may need a blood transfusion.", he said with urgency.
Hunter walked over to The Raven, she was staring up at the ceiling. She had a blank look on her face, she appeared to be in shock.
The events of what had happened a few moments ago kept running through her mind but with a different scenario. She kept seeing Seth being impaled and screaming in pain as he was dying. The Raven closed her eyes tightly trying to make the sounds and images go away.
"Raven are in pain? Are you ok?", John asked anxiously, she was far to quiet he thought. She was in pain but not the kind he was referring to.
Hunter kneeled next to her and gently spoke to her, "Everything is going to be alright. We are sending you to the hospital where they can better help you."
The Raven was now looking at Hunter with a vacant stare. "Can I wait for Seth?", she asked in a small voice.
"No."
"But he will be worried. I told him I would be here waiting.", she insisted.
"He will be more upset if he knew we kept you from getting the help you needed.", Hunter replied worriedly, she was way too calm for what just happened to her. The medics told him they had not given her any pain medication yet and she didn't seem to be experiencing pain. Her mind seemed somewhere else, they had to get her to the hospital as soon as possible.
She thought about what Hunter had said and realized he was right. It would only anger Seth. She nodded her head in agreement and the medics immediately headed to the ambulance.
"I am going with her." John Cena said daring anyone to stop him. "I promised Seth, I would watch over her."
When the match was finally over, Seth didn't wait for the cage to rise or for the door to be unlocked. He scaled the cage and hopped over the top and slid to the ground and ran up the ramp to check on The Raven.
Kane, Randy and Roman watched Seth frantically leave the ring to go backstage.
"What the hell is his problem?", Randy asked Kane.
"The Raven was hurt."
"What?! When?!", Randy asked with surprise and then worry.
"When the cage was coming down it almost got Seth but The Raven moved him out of the way and she ended up getting hurt."
"How bad?", Roman asked, both men stared at him, the last time Roman was near The Raven he was choking the crap out of her. Roman had over heard their conversation and saw how frantic with concerned Seth was. He had not spoken to Seth since his betrayal. Part of Roman knew it was an opportunity you just couldn't walk away from but it still hurt like hell that Seth did not at least warn them. He missed Seth and their friendship.
"There was too much blood, I couldn't see." Both men noticed how visibly shaken Kane was. Once the cage was lifted all three men made their way to the back to check on The Raven.
Seth's heart was pounding hard in his chest as he made his way to the medical workstation, he could not believe what she had done for him. How she risked herself to save him. When he finally made it to the room, it was empty except for Hunter standing in the middle.
"Where is she?", he demanded wildly.
Hunter could see the worry in Seth's eyes. "She had to be taken to the local hospital.", he replied. Before Seth could leave, Hunter grabbed him by his bicep. "I already have one wrestler in the hospital, I don't want another. You have to calm down, Seth.", Hunter said sternly.
"Calm down!", he yelled. "She is hurt because of me. She needs me." He jerked his arm out of Hunter's grasp and headed to the door to leave but was blocked by Kane, Randy and Roman. "Stop him!", Hunter commanded. "Don't let him leave!"
Randy grabbed Seth but Seth rammed him into the wall in the hallway. Kane tried to grab Seth but he pushed him away. Roman finally got a hold of Seth by the back of his neck and slammed him into the wall, face first and used his body to pin him. Seth tried to break the hold Roman had on him but the more he resisted the more pressure Roman applied to his hold. "God damn it Roman! Let me go!" Seth was beyond pissed now, how dare they try to keep him from her. But Roman ignored him. Randy stood back watching in case he was needed, while Kane tried to reason with Seth. "Seth you need to calm yourself down before you hurt yourself. Her injury is not life threatening, she will be alright.", he said soothingly.
"Kane is right. Seth there is nothing you can do for her. She is being checked into hospital. The doctors are probably examining her, it will be a couple of hours before you can see her.", Hunter tried to reason with Seth, he was afraid to let Seth go that he might get into a car accident with the emotional state he was currently in. "Besides, the fans are leaving the arena and you will be stuck in the traffic jam. Why don't you take a shower, change and we will go with you." His words seemed to have calmed him down. Seth was not struggling against Roman anymore.
"Why? Why did she fucken do it?", Seth said in a broken voice. He was glad his back was to them, so they could not see the tears that fell freely from his eyes.
"Because she loves you, she did what any woman in love would have done to protect her man." Hunter said softly, unbeknownst to him that they had been fighting over those three little words the past couple of weeks.
That did it for Seth, he could no longer hold back the sobs that came from his throat. His body sagged to the floor but Roman held him tight not letting him fall to the ground. "Its ok man she is going to be alright.", he said, trying to offer his former brother comfort.
Here he had been fighting with The Raven for the past couple of weeks insisting that she tell him, she loves him. It was important for him to hear those words from her, but it didn't matter anymore. She may never say she loves him but that was ok, he knew that she did by her actions and that was good enough.
