Chapter 15: Training

Ceri growled at her son. "Why mum?" Bryn asked, tilting his head into the direction of where his mother was looking. He saw it, and raced inside. Ceri stood still, her eyes turning to a bright yellow, and veins growing inky black as it walked closer.

Inside, Maddy began to sniff, and looking around. "Rhydian!" Bryn barked, racing into the living room, and stood in front of his brother. Rhydian's head jerked up, and began to sniff. Maddy stood up, her eyes flashing yellow. "Oh, no." Maddy whined, looking down to her mate. Rhydian growled, and told Maddy to stay there. He stood up, and walked outside, to find Jana standing in front of his mother. Maddy walked out beside her mate, and growled. "Of course not." Rhydian muttered his under breath.

His eyes turning a bright yellow, and veins turning into a ink black, with Maddy doing the same. "What are you doing here?" Maddy growled, staring at the crimson haired girl, her teeth bearing. "It's called a proposition. If Rhydian comes back to the wild, we can end this. I really don't want to hurt you, Maddy." Jana said, keeping herself calm. Maddy looked at Rhydian, who began to growl at Jana. "Get it through your head Jana! No! Not now, not ever!" Rhydian growled, his teeth beginning to rot, and he held Maddy closer to him. "Fine, but just know, this isn't over." Jana said, with a slight growl, and she began to walk off.

Maddy growled, lightly, a tear escaping from her one of her eyes, she hugged Rhydian lightly, and buried her face in his chest. "It's okay Mads." He said, kissing her on the head. Maddy looked at him with a light smile, and they walked back inside hand in hand.

"What's wrong?" Emma asked, walking down the stairs. "Nothing, Every things fine mam." Maddy said, as she walked in and sat down the sofa, pulling down Rhydian with her. "Maddy, you'll be fine. I won't let anything hurt you." He said, putting his arm around her shoulders pulling her closer toward him. She nuzzled him lightly, and began to think of how they were going to win the fight. "Oi, you guys, go get some sleep." Emma said, point to the bedroom. "I'll keep watch." Ceri said, and walked into the forest with Bryn. "Mam, its only eight." Maddy complained. "Maddy, we start all of your training tomorrow." Emma said, lightly. "Fine. Okay cubs, go to the spare room." Maddy said, pointing down the hall. "Okay Mom." Sicilia said, gathering her younger siblings, and headed down the hall way. "Okay, you to pet." Emma said, and sat down beside Daniel, who was watching a football match.

"Come on, gotta listen to the Alpha." Maddy smiled, and conjoined her hand with Rhydian's, her fingers tangled with his. They each got off of the couch, walked up the stairs, and into Rhydian's room. Maddy quickly undressed and slid on one of her sweatshirts and a pair of pajama shorts, and clambered into bed. Rhydian took off his shirt, and threw on his casual pajama pants, and the clambered into bed beside Maddy. She turned to Rhydian's warm body, she snuggled against his bare chest, and she looked up at him. "Mads, why are you looking at me with those puppy dog eyes?" Rhydian asked with a slight chuckle, looking down at her. Maddy shook her head, and quietly plopped her head on her hand, looking at him. "Hey Rhydian?" She giggled. "What?" He said, looking down at her. "You have the bluest eyes, and it's so cute when you laugh." Maddy smiled, sitting up, and kissing him lightly. "I know." Rhydian grinned through the kiss. Maddy giggled and pulled from the kiss, and snuggled back down onto his chest. Each of them fell asleep in a matter of minutes.

The sunlight burst through Rhydian's curtains, each of them still asleep. "Maddy! Rhydian! Breakfast!" Emma called for the younger wolfbloods. They each sluggishly woke up, groaned, and whipped the sleep from their eyes, walking out the door. The aroma of bacon sandwiches rose down the hall, which made Maddy and Rhydian suddenly wake up, and began racing down the stairs. They each controlled themselves as they reached the arch into the kitchen. "Here ya go." Emma said, handing them each a sandwich. The whole wolfblood family ate together, having chit chat every now and then. "Okay. Be ready by noon." Emma said, placing her plate in the dishwasher. "Okay, Mam." Maddy said, waiting for everyone to finish before taking their plates and loading the dishes.

A few minutes later, Maddy was walking up stairs, into Rhydian's room, and began to strip off her pajamas. She threw on a t-shirt, and some knee length shorts, just as Rhydian walked in. "Hi." Maddy said, slipping on her tennis shoes. "Hi." He said, walking over putting his arm around her shoulders. She looked up at him, pecked him on the lips, and walked out. "Oi!" Rhydian barked. "Come down stairs when you're done!" Maddy yelled shutting the door. Rhydian shook his head, and began to cloth himself.

He finished, and walked down stairs, to see the entire pack ready for the day. "Okay, come on." Emma said, walking out the door. Ceri and Bryn were waiting for them at the forest line, and they all began walking to an open field. "Okay, all of you cubs, you each have special talent, each of them can do multiple things." Emma said, walking in front of all of them. "Okay, the less dangerous talents first." The older female looked at Maddy and then scanned the others. "James, you first." Maddy squinted her eyes at her mother, and looked to her son. "Okay… Focus, try to think of what your instinct is telling you what to do." Emma said, standing still. James huffed, and began to look at his grandmother relaxed but extremely focused. Suddenly, James eyes turning pure blue, he began was hearing voices in his head that was sounding like his relatives.

This isn't gonna work…. Come on Bubba! You can do it!... Come on, you can do this James… Come on twerp!... James heard, his eyes faded back to brown, and he turned to Sicilia. "Gee, thanks for the support Sicilia and Bryn. Thank you Mum, Dad, Fallon, Nana, and Pa." He smiled ear to ear, growling at Sicilia and Bryn. Bryn growled at him, his eyes flashing his eyes to a dark yellow, veins growing ink black, claws growing, and his teeth beginning to rot. "Oh, attitude, aye? Then let's go wild boy." James growled, he mimicked his uncles actions, controlling his wolf. "James, stop it." Maddy barked at the boys, walking in between them. "No Mum. He started this!" James growled at his mother, bearing his teeth. "Stop it now." Ceri yelled, pulling her son back. Bryn calmed down, eyes, veins, teeth, and claws turning to normal. "Sorry." He retorted, glaring at the younger wolfblood.

Emma smiled, "Okay, so, I'm guessing you could read our minds." James nodded, turning to his parents, who were smiling lightly. "Good, now do it again, but calm yourself even more. It will let you use your talents expanded version." Emma said, standing still. James nodded, and turned around. He began glaring at Bryn, his eyes changing to yellow then to a dark blue. "God I hate him!" Bryn yelled out, and then threw his hands over his mouth. James grinned his eyes turning chocolate brown again. "Good job, James. Who's next?" Emma smiled lightly as James turned and walked back to his mother's side.

"Fallon, your turn." Maddy said with a smile. Maddy turned to Rhydian, how looked down at her with a god-this-is-so-damn-boring look on his face. Maddy giggled. "Hey, Mam, I gotta go to the bathroom." Maddy said, turning. "Hurry up, Maddy." Emma said, focusing back onto Fallon. Maddy untangled her hands from Rhydian's and walked into the forest line.

Fallon had relaxed, she bowed her head a bit, eventually looking to her grandmother with green and blue eyes. A blurry force surrounded them, each the family looking around. Her eyes turned back to a light amber, the blurry force disappeared. Emma smiled, nodded to her again. Fallon relaxed even more, her eyes becoming green and blue, a blurry force surrounded Emma. Fallon smiled lightly, her amber eyes returning. The force still stood around Emma, who was smiling lightly. Fallon flashed her eyes to yellow, the force vanished. "Good job." Emma said, smiling.

Maddy came from the forest line, walking back to Rhydian's side. They intertwined their hands, looking at each other, then back to the children who were practicing. This was going to be a LONG day.

Many hours passed, and the waxing crescent moon was rising in the pink and purple sky. The wolfblood family was walking back to the house, Maddy and Rhydian had conjoined hands, the two youngest children holding hands with their grandparents hands, Sicilia and Bryn walking ahead of all of them chatting away, Ceri lagging behind everyone.

The wolfbloods walked into the house, all of them had bags under their eyes. Maddy yawned, and walked upstairs. Emma and Dan walked into the spare bedroom up the stairs, Ceri and Bryn going back outside to sleep, all of the kids when to the spare room down the corridor, and Rhydian slugging up the stairs. He walked into his room seeing Maddy already asleep on his bed in one of his shirts and her normal pajama shorts. He shook his head lightly, he stripped and put on his usual pajama pants. He slipped into bed, Maddy automatically turned and began snuggling on his warm chest. Rhydian smiled, kissing her on the top of her head. He shut his eyes, and fell asleep.

Meanwhile, Ceri and Bryn were sound asleep curled up in balls inside the forest close to Rhydian's house.

Rhydian's house was unlocked, and suddenly the door opened. Someone walked into the house, it sniffed, and walked up the stairs, into and into a Rhydian's room. The door opened silently, and it walked out with something in its arms. And due to everyone being pure sleep deprived from the training, no one even sensed the person.

The sunlight burst through everyone's windows and curtains. Rhydian woke up, looking over at where Maddy was sleeping, he sniffed, smelling something. He saw a wolfblood scent trail, that wasn't anyone's he'd known, and his door was open. He stood up, following the scent down the stairs. His house door was open. He growled, pain growing in his chest.
