Chapter 9 - It's Not Over

It's been a year and a half since Pan has been in the Other World. She's spent everyday training with the Kais in effort to get stronger. King Kai was more than happy to have her as a pupil and so was Old Kai. Funny, as each day passed she grew more like Goku. Her hair was short now, she cut it. It reminded King Kai of when Gohan was around her age when he defeated Cell. Although she looked like a boy, you can still see some of her feminine aspects.

Pan also wore the family Gi. Kibito Kai was able to find her backpack and teleport it to her. It was the same one she had since she was five. It was rather small but it still fit her. She still had the orange bandana so it matched her uniform. She had grown half a foot.

However, Pan emotionally changed.

Sugoro pointed out Pan's demeanor whenever she visited the Sacred World of the Kais to train. King Kai knew about Pan's behavior. He couldn't blame her for feeling so…troubled. She had lost everyone she knew to the Tuffle Lord. Sure every now and then Pan would laugh or smile but most of the time it's a different story.

"Okay Pan, don't overdue it." King Kai ordered as Pan passed her daily 10,000 push ups.

But Pan didn't comply.

"I swear her and Goku are alike in many ways. Their stubbornness and determination are their strongest qualities." King Kai sighed. "I just wished she was more...enthusiastic as he was." It wasn't her fault.

"King Kai! I'm hungry!" Pan cried.

King Kai fell over anime-style. "I swear, things never change."

Pan laughed nervously. It felt good to laugh.

The four had lunch; Pan, King Kai, Bobo, and Greggory.

"Have they found him yet?" Pan asked the Kai hopefully.

King Kai frowned. "No, I'm sorry."

Pan hung her head. No one could find Goku. He's not in Heaven, but he's not in Hell either. That's what King Yemma said. Pan didn't know how this could be. The Kais didn't know either, which made the situation all the more strange.

Pan's eyes snapped open, "Do you think that..."

"PAN!" Old Kai's voice yelled.

Everyone covered their ears.

"What is it?" Pan groaned.

"Pan, we did it! We found a way to defeat Baby!"

Everyone gasped.

"W-what?"

Old Kai continued. "Yes, Pan, are you ready for this mission?"
