And now begins a lovely saga that accounts for two years of fillers! Yaaaaaay! I'm going to try and throw in some random Outrealm fights, as well as the two bandit fights with Anna. And it's going to be during the next... Um... Unknown number of chapters that Sane finally snags her man and settles down. And boy, is it going to be a shocker. I'm also going to be kind of liberal with the next few chapters. Sane's going to do some experimenting (Take that how you will.) And there will be some very heavy same sex coupling. (You're welcome LeonPianta) This chapter picks up roughly one day after the last one, there was a huge party, Sane ate Kellam's weight in food, there was dancing... And Sane wakes up with the biggest hangover you could possibly have for not drinking any alcohol xD

"Sane? Hey... Sane? Waaaaaake up!" Lissa's sugar sweet voice called to me.

I lay comfortably in a bed made from the richest down. Zeus himself reached into the clouds, plucked the youngest cirrus from their cradles and wove them into an elegant pillow. The blanket covering me felt like a thin sheet made of warm silk. I was surrounded by the smell of honeysuckle and the faintest whisper of exotic lavender.

And some idiot was trying to wake me up.

"Murr... G'way..."

"Saaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaane... It's time for you to wake up silly."

Tiny hands began tugging away my heavenly blanket and prodding me.

"Come on, it's way past morning."

"Hnnng..."

Beside me I heard my belongings being shuffled aside.

"You should really organize your stuff better Sane. Especially these books... Dear Gods, why would you even read them?"

My eyes snapped open and I reached out groggily to where I thought I heard Lissa.

"Dewn't touch..."

"You have quite the accent when you're groggy you know. It's even more than amusing than your normal one."

I sat up and glared at Lissa.

"Book. Drop."

Lissa smiled mischieviously.

"What exactly is in this book anyway?"

"Lissa!"

She opened the book and began to read.

"The ship was constructed from finely sanded mahogany wood glazed in a fine coat of melted shells of... Booring!"

She flipped to another random page.

"Bringing his sword swiftly across the weakened iron bars, Ezekiel shattered the cage holding Rital captive. 'We really need to stop meeting like this.' He told her with a smirk. Rital grinned and motioned to the bow and quiver slung over his shoulder. 'I do believe you have something of mine.'"

Lissa grinned.

"Oh, now that sounds better. We should keep reading."

I groaned.

"No, this is really not the kind of book you read with someone else."

"Why? Is it naughty Sane?"

I rolled my eyes.

"Yes. It does briefly describe a sex scene or two."

"And you're reading it? My, my Sane, who knew you had such a palette?"

"It was brief. And it actually has a very complex plot."

"Oh?"

"Yeah. I have the first four books if you'd like to read them."

Lissa's eyes widened.

"There's more than four books?"

"I think there's six?"

"Holy cow Sane, you're a deviant!"

I put on my glasses and took the book from her.

"Sex in literature can add some nice flavour if done tastefully."

"I've never read anything like that..."

I raised my eyebrows.

"Really? I hadn't realized you were so sheltered. Would you..."

I hesitated.

"Like to read the series? It doesn't get graphic. Nothing more than part A goes in part B and both parties had a good time."

Lissa looked at the book.

"Um... Would that be okay?"

I chuckled.

"I won't tell Chrom."

She thought for a moment.

"Deal."

I walked over to my stash of books and began looking for the first of the series.

"So, why are you waking me up so early anyway? I figured you of all people would still be sleeping after all the chaos that's been happening lately."

"Yeah... Well, Chrom wanted me to get you actually. He wanted to talk to you."

'Oh Gods, what now?'

"Really, about what?"

"He didn't say, but he was really fidgety when he asked me. It must be something important."

"I guess."

'Bugger, where is it? I could've sworn it was right here.'

"Oh, you know what Lissa, I think Tharja has it."

"Why would Tharja have it?"

"She recommended the series."

"That explains a lot."

"It's not a perverse series. It's actually very deep."

'Ba dum tss...'

"Okay. So, are you gonna go see Chrom?"

I shrugged my shoulders.

"I suppose I can. Right now?"

Lissa shook her head.

"We have to get breakfast first silly."

After a large breakfast with Lissa, leftovers from last nights party mostly, I started hunting down Chrom. I found him in the library talking with Emerynn. Once he saw me, he excused himself and walked over to me with a smile.

"Sane, good morning. Sleep well after last night?"

I nodded.

"A bit groggy still, but I'm sure I'll manage alright."

"Good, good. Care to walk with me? There's much I'd like to talk to you about."

He led me out of the library and upstairs. The castle was large, and most of it I hadn't explored yet, but to the best of my knowledge we were heading up to a balcony type thing with a nice view overlooking the town.

"Is something wrong?" I asked.

He shook his head.

"No, nothing's wrong. Quite the opposite actually. I'd like to thank you for everything you've done for the Shepherds."

We stepped into the bright sunlight.

"I owe you. After all, lord knows what would've happened if you hadn't found me in that field."

Chrom shook his head with a smile.

"As much as you know, I'm sure you would've been fine."

"Are you kidding? My first bandit I would've crapped my pants to death."

"That's... A lovely image."

"I'm sure it's happened to at least one person."

"Is there diphtheria where you come from?"

"Yeah, but we have a whole bunch of medicine for it."

"Really?"

"Yeah. The disease has been practically eradicated. On my continent anyway."

"I see."

He was quiet for a time.

"There are just so many questions I want to ask you Sane, so much I want to learn. I hope I don't bother you with asking so much."

I shook my head.

"No... It's kind of cool to talk about where I'm from I guess."

He smiled.

"Sane, I'd like you to continue to be one of the Shepherds."

"Of course, I had planned on being one."

"And... Feel welcome to live at the palace."

I raised an eyebrow.

"Are you sure? I mean... I could live in the village, or with another Shepherd."

"No, I think I even know the perfect room for you. Would you like to see it?"

"I... guess? Yeah."

He led me back inside the castle and down a long hallway that was filled with regal decorations. Eventually we came to a door with fancy, ornate carvings.

"It's... A tad regal, but I could have it changed if you want."

He opened the door and motioned for me to step inside. When I did, I couldn't believe my eyes. A large, regal bed was in the center of the room. It was big enough for at least three people, and carved tables were around it. There were large dressers, decorative tapestries and even a blush carpet. The room was royal blue and gold with faint accents of silver. The most notable feature was a large window that led out to a balcony. The window showed a perfect view of a clear lake and colourful flowers.

"Oh my... It's... Beautiful..."

I honestly couldn't believe what I was seeing. Never in all my life had I seen something so fancy, it was like I had stepped onto the scene of a movie.

"I... Couldn't... I mean... I love it..."

Chrom smiled.

"Do you want it?"

I nodded my head, still not believing that I was being offered such an elegant room.

'I mean, the guest rooms are pretty spiffy yeah, but nothing like this...'

"There is one catch though."

Chrom looked at me with a serious look in his eyes.

"You'll have to do something first."

I cocked my head to the side.

"What?"

Chrom took a deep breath and pulled something small out of his pocket.

"You'll have to wear this."

I felt my heart stop when I saw what Chrom was holding. It was a ring.

"You..."

I stared dumbfoundedly at the ring Chrom was holding out to me.

"You're proposing to me..?"

He nodded.

"That's right... I know... I know that we've... Well..."

He looked away briefly.

"Mostly I've... Been difficult... But, you're like no one I've ever met before Sane. I know we've only known each other for a short time, but I've fallen in love with you."

Chrom took ahold of my hand and gently placed the ring on my open palm.

"Sane, you crazy bugger, will you marry me?"

Oh my lord Jesus, the suspense is going to freaking kill me! Oh wait, no it's not because I daydream this while I'm supposed to be working on some damn project for school... Well, I know this probably isn't all that unexpected, Chrom and the female Avatar are totally cannon so I was extremely wary to have Chrom propose, but in a way... Who wouldn't propose to Sane? She has her flaws, yeah, but she's such a character. Sorry this chapter was so short, but I started Christmas break today so hopefully I'll get at least another chapter or two up.
