Well, it's...thursday? Lol enjoy anyways!
chapter 11: happy
There was something about that petite frame that couldn't possibly be bad. And her touch. So gentle, caring and kind as she'd tested and stretched my knee. Incredible.
I shook my head, freeing it from thoughts of Bella. Although, it seemed to be a recurring pattern. Bella was always filling my mind these days. I wasn't sure why, but if couldn't get her long brown hair and her soft brown eyes out of my head. It was becoming slightly annoying.
I swiped my meal card and grabbed a tray. Emmet was in front of me as we made our way through the cafeteria which was called the Dog Bowl. I wasn't sure why it was named that but I was suspicious it had something to do with the quality of the food. Some of it I swore was actually dog food it looked so dried and bland from sitting under the heating laps all day.
"How's your knee been doing?" Emmett turned to me as we skipped all the other food options for some pizza.
"Not too bad. The painkillers help a lot." Who ever invented painkillers was a saint.
"That's good to hear. I was getting worried, man. You looked like you hadn't slept a wink before Izzy sent you back to the doctor last week. She's a God send isn't she?" Emmett elbowed me in the ribs. I swatted at his arm.
"I suppose she is." I sighed. She had helped me get better at pretty rapid pace. I was completely off crutches and the swelling had gone down tremendously. I only had to wear a small black brace and I could return to practice in few more weeks.
"You suppose? Man, she's a natural with the team. It's been what? Two weeks and she's a part of the pack. The whole team loves her, the coaches lover her, Billy loves her." Emmett ticked them off on his fingers.
Emmett grabbed half the pizza that was sitting on display and deposited it on his plate. I shot him a look a disbelief. "What? I'm starved." He shrugged.
I rolled my eyes and grabbed an appropriate portion of three slices before following Em to a table.
"Anyways, like I was saying. Izzy's amazing. So please tell me bro, that you've come around and that you can see how great she Is?"
Emmett shoved a slice of pizza into his mouth practically inhaling it. The pizza didn't stand a chance.
"Yeah, I have actually." I was glad that the turn of events allowed me to not have to lie because I had been nicer to Bella. For one, I felt an immense amount of gratitude for her being able to forgive me. Even if my apology hadn't been that great. I hadn't really intended on even being nice to her, but you know that moment where you don't have the energy to fight with someone? You don't have the physical strength or willpower to put in the effort? Yep, that had been me.
I just wanted the pain to go away, so I listened to her. And surprisingly everything she said made sense. And she'd sounded like she actually cared, which was surprising since I'd been extremely rude. And part of the whole water thing was that I wanted her to leave. I didn't want her around me or around the team. Because she'd be a bad influence and the faster I got rid if her the less emotional attachment. It would make it easier for the team. And ultimately I was always concerned with the well being of the team. It was my job after all as team captain.
But I had been wrong. Well, at least so far.
"Really?" Emmett was slightly shocked.
I nodded. "Yeah, I took your advice."
"Well, of course you did. I'm always right." Emmett nodded. I rolled my eyes and stole a slice of pizza from his plate.
"Hey! If you wanted more than just three slices you should've gotten more. Give it back man! And I'm always right and you know it."
Em crossed his arms and pouted dislike a child at his stolen piece of pizza.
I laughed.
"This is the one time when you happen to be right. Emphasis on the one." I admitted pushing my plate towards him. ""
Em took the slice and shoved it in his mouth quickly. "Yes. And I'm glad to hear that you're warming up to her, bro. Im proud of you."
Em pretended to wipe a tear away. "So proud." He pretended to sob.
"Oh for goodness sakes." I growled. It wasn't that big of a deal. "Can we move on to a different topic?"
"Whatever."
I ate a slice off my own plate and sat in quiet peace with my brother. Occasionally he would ask me about plays he should run as my second in command. Or about school or just stuff in general. All in all it was a peaceful lunch.
This was the first time in a long while that I felt happy.
hey guys! Sorry it has been awhile! I hadn't really been in the mood to write and that combined with some of the negative criticism that I received made me want to stop all together, but I've decided to resume. So hopefully, I'm back for a good long while!
Sooo tell me what you guys think. Did you like Edward's POV? Do you still hate Edward? Next chapter will be back in Bella's POV! See ya next wednesday!
