THE POWER OF SEVEN! – OR –LORD FLAMER'S DEFEAT

"RATHER THEY BE NORMAL PONY OR PHOENIX-IDE!" Lord Flamer shouted. "THAT ALSO GOES OUT TO YOU, PRINCESSES!" Opening his beak, a large ball of flames shot out of his mouth. It was mere inches away from hitting Burning Sunrise as he galloped toward The Mane 6 and the Princesses.

"Princess, I believe that there is a minor setback in my plan," Burning Sunrise exclaimed, teary sweats pouring from his forehead. The Princesses, their subordinate, and her friends gave him a glare. Behind him, a cloud of smoke had taken place of the large ball of fire.

"'A minor setback in your plan'?" repeated Princess Luna. "This is no 'minor setback', dear child. A pretentious incident has happened and you are not taking this seriously? My little ponies, do you think you six can defeat him?"

"No worries, Princesses Celestia and Luna, my friends and I got this!" Princess Twilight said, before facing Burning Sunrise and at Lord Flamer's figure behind the dark cloud of smoke. Even if she did look at him for mere seconds, he could see a straight look on her face. "We've got the friendship of magic, girls! Let's hit him with everything we've got!" Twilight's friends cheered at her speech and zoomed toward the Lord of Phoenixes, Fluttershy galloping to keep up with them.

The dark cloud of smoke had completely dissipated into the surrounding air. Lord Flamer was looking at them with steady eyes, his figure strong and proud; the ponies didn't slow down, their figures stronger and prouder.

"WHAT IS THIS?" Lord Flamer asked towards no-pony in particular. His voice shook the whole castle, yet none of the ponies charging at him took notice of the shattering castle. Only Princess Celestia, Princess Luna, and Burning Sunrise shook as the ground also shook.

"This is your fate, Lord Flamer!" Princess Twilight exclaimed as she and Rarity shot on-going beams of magic at the Lord of Phoenixes. Though Lord Flamer was as tall as the Crystal Castle and his power was as devastating as a dozen meteors, the power of the beams from the two unicorns' horns kept holding him back from hitting his target. The magic wasn't powerful; they just kept on hitting him since the beams were on-going – annoying, if you would.

"Fluttershy, follow me!" Rainbow Dash exclaimed as she flew towards Lord Flamer with quick movements. Then, she poured on punch after punch as she started going around him, faster and faster. She never stopped, even when her hoofs were aching from the hot air surrounding him; even when she was getting tired from moving around and punching some beast many times bigger than she was. Fluttershy, soon-after, joined in with Rainbow Dash in trying to take down Lord Flamer, though she was way slower and way weaker.

"We've got this, ya'll!" Applejack exclaimed. Grabbing her long rope wrapped around her flank using her mouth, she quickly circled the rope around Lord Flamer's bird-like legs. Though it wasn't much of an attack, and Lord Flamer wouldn't face-plant himself into the ground with the rope tied around his legs like an idiot unless he was going to walk away, this was a pretty-much useless move.

"Party Cannon!" yelled Pinkie Pie as she had mysteriously pulled out cannon painted with bright colors. Lighting the end of it, confetti and strings shot out of the giant hole. This would've been as dangerous as a cannonball is being shot out of a cannon – one being hit back by a cannonball until they hit some obstacle, while the other is being choked to death if they breathe in the strings through their mouths or blinded if the confetti gets into their eyes.

"ENOUGH!" Lord Flamer yelled as he had, again, opened his beak, a large ball of flames about to shoot out of his mouth.

"Yes, Lord Flamer that is enough!" a voice yelled. Every-pony and the Lord of Phoenixes turned to find a serious Burning Sunset.

"What are you doing, Sugar-Cube?" Applejack asked in a whisper-y like voice. Yes, every-pony in the room was mystified as the filly who had taken the princesses hostage (the same filly who had a funny demeanor whenever in trouble; the same filly who had summoned an angry Lord of Phoenixes; the same filly that tried to escape the conflict many times but was stopped by many glares) was taking firm steps forward toward Lord Flamer. Princess Celestia and Luna shook their heads in the background, indicating that they had nothing to do with this.

"BURNING SUNRISE?" Lord Flamer asked confused, before noticing his firm footsteps getting closer. "I ORDER YOU TO STOP WHERE YOU ARE!" Burning Sunrise didn't even pause as he kept walking. "STOP OR I WILL HARM YOU!" This made Burning Sunrise stop in his tracks.

"Do so, Lord Flamer; I dare you!" he yelled, though it was if he wasn't taking to the Lord of Phoenixes exactly. Lord Flamer opened his beak to summon the large ball of flames, when there was the sound of yawning. Every-pony and Lord Flamer perked up when they heard the sound and wondered what it was. The mane of Burning Sunrise suddenly moved. Every-pony and Lord Flamer gasped as they saw that his burning mane wasn't a mane; it was a sleeping 'baby' Phoenix! Lord Flamer flew closer towards Burning Sunrise, until he raised a hoof for him to pause where he was. "Yes, Lord Flamer, this Phoenix is your youngest ancestor!" he exclaimed. "Plus he's my friend! If I didn't show you 'Golden Light' in time, you would've killed both a filly and the youngest member of the Phoenix-ide and your own kind! Now, you wouldn't want to do that, would you?"

"My kin, how are you?" Lord Flamer asked, ignoring Burning Sunrise's question. "Is he taking care of you correctly?" 'Golden Light', the Phoenix that Burning Sunrise named, nodded his head. Turning back to Burning Sunrise, he continued: "If he says that you are taking care of him, then I will allow you to live… for now. Good night, Burning Sunrise! I do hope we could cross paths, again!" Lord Flamer looked straight up at the hole that he had created and flew through it. The ponies looked at the disappearing Lord of Phoenixes, forgetting about Burning Sunrise and his Phoenix.

"I'm sorry, Princesses and 'company'," he murmured. Every-pony noticed the voice and looked from the hole in the Castle of the Two Sisters to Burning Sunrise. "I should have asked Princess Celestia about what she did to her Phoenix before actually bringing some large Phoenix into the scene. Heh, I learned my lesson now, so I'm going to see if I can change my fate – a better fate!" He turned around and walked towards the entrance of the Castle of the Two Sisters.

"Wait, Burning Sunrise!" exclaimed Princess Celestia. "How did you know about my Phoenix, or that day with the feast? There were guards everywhere where I was feasting!"

By this time, Burning Sunrise had his hoof at the door's knob. Even though he didn't turn around or pause his walking before the Sun Princess asked her question, she still knew that she had his attention.

"I should start with what happened at the beginning of the day, shouldn't I?" Burning Sunrise asked to no-pony in particular. "That day was the day I just became three. My family and I had just arrived from an outside… town… and we were new here back then. My father and mother took me all over the town. It was barely noon when they looked at the new house. Across that house was that poster that said that Princess Celestia's Phoenix was missing, and the lot of you crowding the actual Phoenix near that note. My father and mother didn't notice, since they didn't want to intrude."

"That means that you're–!" Rainbow Dash exclaimed, though Burning Sunrise interrupted her.

"I'm four years old today, yes," he continued, looking at the sun coming down in the horizon. "Like I said before, 'I'm sorry for the trouble today'! I hope you and I will meet each other again someday!" Turning around, he galloped towards the sun.
