Chapter 9: Ideas

None of the brothers had made a sound as they were continuously shoved from behind, the guards marching them to a destination that they all too remembered. They weren't sure what was going to happen, they hadn't done anything that warranted another beating, or did they?

Not wanting to enrage the guards they just moved where they were being lead, almost wishing they could beat down on them. But as long as their hands were cuffed and at least one of the Triceratons could reach a key card, there was nothing they could do.

Walking side by side the four of them walked down the halls for a couple of minutes, dread filling them. The feeling only increased as the large doors that lead out to the yard appeared before them. The memory of their brutal beating flashing before them, not sure if it was going to happen again. They were then stopped right in front of them as one of the guards slid the keycard through the reader and then the doors opened to the large yard.

A bit of relief hit the four as they saw the yard filled with other prisoners, all of them walking around freely. This was a good sign or not, either the guards weren't going to beat them at all or are going to do it in front of them as an example of what disobedience would get them.

Just like that they were roughly shoved across the threshold into the yard, stumbling a bit. Once they regain their footing they turned to face the guards, flinching some as one held up the keycard. But luckily once the button was pressed their wrists were freed.

"You have one hour," one of the guards said as the doors closed, leaving the four in the yard with the other prisoners.

Turning around they all looked at the other prisoners loose in the yard, glad that they didn't draw any attention at all. "Well…that was unexpected," Leo was the first to speak.

"I know, I thought we were going to get another beating," Don responded with a nod. That's what his brothers thought also, because this is the first time that they knew that they were allowed to have time outside with the others. This is new to them but yet that means they can't let their guard down.

"Don't attract any attention to yourselves," Leo warned his brothers as he continued to survey the yard, hopefully finding something that could help them. "This may be a good time as any."

"What do you mean?" Raph asked, his brother responding without looking back.

"When we were being escorted out here I noticed some grate in the hall, maybe it's something that leads to the drainage system here…chances are it might lead out here," the blue clad turtle responded as he tried to look for a grate of some kind.

"That sounds good, but where?" Mikey asked.

"We just have to look but don't look suspicious," Leo responded. "We're already what they call fresh fish, so that'll draw much unwanted attention from the others."

"We should stay together, it's not good if we separate, especially when the others out here could do anything," Don added in.

"Yeah, for once I'm not in the mood to pick a fight," Raph responded, which caused his brothers to look at him in surprise. "What, I'm really not."

"Ok…it's just new to hear that from you," Leo responded.

The brothers then spent the next half hour keeping to themselves as they slowly wandered around the exercise yard, keeping their eyes out for anything helpful. Still they kept all their eyes open and took in their surroundings just so they have a good idea of the layout. There were about thirty prisoners out, including them, all spread out and keeping away from one another. Chances are they didn't want to mingle with the others and kept to whatever friends they were able to make. Many Triceraton guards were up in towers keeping their eyes on everyone below.

"You know if we're going to do something it's best we do it while we're concealed, there's too many watchful eyes around," Don commented as the four of them walked along the walls of the yard.

"We know Don, but there's not much we can-wait a sec," Leo said as he looked down as his foot touched something metal. Looking down they all saw a metal grate. He looked over and saw that his brothers noticed this and Mikey attempted to kneel down to inspect it. "Stop!"

The orange clad turtle stopped his actions before he made them as they looked at their eldest in confusion. "What's wrong?" Mikey asked.

"Don't look obvious, we have no idea what they will do if they see us acting suspicious," Leo instructed as he turned his shell to his brothers. "Help me out to see if it's loose, use your feet, and don't look too conspicuous."

The other three understood what they were being told and circled around the grate, acting as if they were having a discussion with one another they used their feet to grab the grate through the holes. Slowly they gripped it and tried to move it. It shook a little, indicating that it is loose, and a good sign for them.

"Ok this is good, this is maybe where the other grate leads to," Leo told them. "Well now we have one possible way out here, that's good."

"Alright, now what?" Mikey asked, which only got looks from the others. "What?"

"You're the movie expert, you must have seen prison movies right?" Raph asked as he crossed his arms. "What did they do to escape?"

"Hmm…let me think," Mikey folded his arms.

"Wow, that might hurt your head," Raph quirked.

"Hey!" Mikey commented back.

"Come on Raph, we need to get serious now," Leo told them all, needing to get serious.

"Well…there was this one movie where the main dude started a riot, and through the confusion is able to escape since the guards were too focused on the other prisoners," Mikey finally said.

"Sounds like a good plan," Raph smirked.

Don ended up axing the plan, "I don't think so guys. First off we have no idea what the guards do with riots, plus how do we know that everyone else will suffer in case of detaining the others."

"We won't know until we actually try it out," Leo turned to his brothers, a look of undesired on his face. "We need to use all of our options and this may be a good one, but in order to see if it'll work is to see how it's done."

Everyone gave their brother a surprised look, taking a while for at least one of them to speak again. "So you're saying that we should start a riot?" Don asked.

"Only to see what happens," he nodded.

"Good enough for me," Raph responded as he walked past his brothers a few feet, then kneeled down. They watched as the red clad turtle picked up a rock and scanned the area.

Raph smirked as he saw a few bulky looking grey prisoners walking by a few burly looking ones. Timing it right and being as stealthy as possible he chucked it over and clonked one of them on the head, "Gotcha," he smirked.

The four stood back as they watched as the two then shoved the others. They could tell words were being traded but being far away they couldn't hear anything.

"Well that worked," Mikey said.

"Yup, now we wait to see what's happening," Raph responded. And just like that punches were thrown. Soon the friends of the fighting prisoners got in it as a brawl started. They all looked around and saw a few of the guards shouting things, it looked like they were trying to get things under control.

Just then all their tattoos lite up, everyone in the yard as combined cries of pain shouted as they were all shocked. The whole yard looked almost like an electrified area as the visible shocks could be seen. The brothers were all caught off guard as they all screamed out in pain, clutching their arms as the electricity flowed through them.

In no time all the prisoners were brought to the ground as their tattoos stayed active for an undetermined amount of time. During this time all their cuffs were active, as their hands were bound. After a minute the tattoos were finally turned off as all the prisoners were now on the ground, numb, in pain, and panting for air.

"B-B-Bad…idea…" Mikey stuttered as his body shook.

"I…agree…" Raph seconded through quicken breathes.

Don trembled as he looked around and both eyes widen as the main doors to the yard opened and a few dozen guards came in, armed. "Guys…stay down they're coming.

"Don't move!" One of the guards shouted. "Unless you want more, stay down!"

The brothers watched as the guards walked over to the ones that started the fight, wincing a bit as they kicked them around, literally.

"So you think it's fun to start a fight?" the guard snarled.

"This filth hit me!" one of them said.

"No I didn't!"

"Silence!" the guard shouted as he was obeyed. "Now you're going to pay dearly for-"

"Sir!" another guard ran into the yard and up to the group. The four brothers didn't know but they could tell that something wasn't right.

"What is it!" he snarled at the newcomer.

"It wasn't them, it was him," he then pointed in Raph's direction, making the brothers breath hitch.

"Really?"

"Yes, I saw them," he said as the guards then moved in their direction.

"Ok, really bad idea," Mikey said as just like that the guards were now in front of them.

"I knew you four were nothing but trouble," The head guard said as he waved his club around.

"Don't know what you're talking about," Raph spoke up, being defiant once more.

"I saw you, don't try to lie," the other guard said.

The head guard smirked as his arms folded, "You're going to pay for that one, the next couple of days are going to be gruesome." He then made a motion and the last thing Raph and his brothers saw were a fist to their faces before nothing but darkness.

A/N: Hope you like. Once again i'm sorry if it's short. Now I wanted to get this chapter over with so it was confusing and rushed. I have some ideas of what to do but still i'm open to suggestions of what you would like to see. I thank you all for waiting. Till next time.
