Day Ten: with animal ears
Timeline: dating (within the scope of the original story)
It was the first time in a long time that he had been home on a Halloween. He figured - the last time he'd stayed in, Levi had been barely a year old, and neither he nor Kelly had deemed it appropriate to take him out. They'd of course taken him out the next few years - and before that, Gibbs had stopped personally escorting Kelly when she was twelve, and she'd stopped going out when she was thirteen - but essentially, this year was the first year that he had a trick-or-treating age kid around and had stayed behind.
McGee had offered his suburban apartment area as a trick-or-treating venue, claiming the houses had the best candy - and he had an excellent selection of Halloween costumes for Levi that meant Kelly spending no money. Kelly had taken him up on it cautiously, and Gibbs had grudgingly agreed to it. He grumbled and made a show of being annoyed, but somewhere in the back of his mind he could see the relationship between his daughter and McGee was really going to go somewhere - he could feel it in his gut - and since the man was so good about including Levi, Gibbs decided to try and let it happen.
So he was home alone, eyeing the door warily in case a stray trick-or-treater came by - his street was full of parents who'd long since seen their kids leave, and he rarely got costumes at his door anymore.
He spent his time hanging out with Pterodactyl - keeping the candy bowl away from him - and considering starting the caramel apples Kelly had promised Levi they'd make when they got home.
He had gotten up to go into the kitchen and start melting caramel when the front door opened.
"Trick or treat!" trilled a wicked voice - and Gibbs paused warily - he knew the voice.
Pterodactyl went charging towards the door, and Gibbs heard Jenny cooing as she greeted him - the dog was barking madly, and bounded into the kitchen, Jenny waltzing behind him.
Gibbs did a double take as he looked up. He opened his mouth a little, staring at her as she slipped off the overcoat she'd been wearing - the costume underneath it was something tiny and revealing and mystifying and he sort of stared at her and then said -
"Tr...ick?"
She shook her head.
"I think that's slang for whore, Jethro," she drawled.
"Treat," he tried.
"In a way, as you don't have to pay me," she answered, and grinned.
As she approached, his eyes fell on the headband on her head and he -
"What the hell are you?"
She pointed to her head.
"Elephant," she retorted, rolling her eyes. "Obviously."
"Sexy elephant?" he asked, arching a brow. "Who dresses as a sexy elephant?"
"Not many people, I had to track this down," she answered, and pushed him back towards the sink. "I really can't be around kids on Halloween anymore; I needed to be very adult and very naughty," she purred.
He was still a little confused about what was going on, but he accepted it, and tweaked one of the floppy little ears on her head. She puckered her lips.
"I picked an elephant because it's unique - and elephants love penis."
Gibbs gave her a look.
"Peanuts, Jen," he corrected.
"Oh, I mean, if you'd rather me put some peanuts in my mouth, then okay..." she started to sidle away, and Gibbs took her arm and spun her back, grinning.
She bit her tongue between her teeth and leaned closer.
"This looks three times too small for you and eight years old," Gibbs growled, tugging at the barely-there grey felt skirt. "Where'd you find it?"
The next words out of her mouth ruined his evening - and he was particularly bothered that she seemed to think it shouldn't put him off at all -
"Kelly let me borrow it."
