Day Nineteen: In battle, side by side.
Timeline: dating
Crouched in a corner, a line of frustration knitting her brows together, Jenny, adjusted her arm, trying to shake out the pins and needles. She felt like she'd been waiting for the signal for hours, even though it had only been minutes.
She felt on edge, even though this was second nature to her - well, maybe not this; she was a little rusty at this particular kind of warfare, though she did the more serious kind every single day at work - regardless, she liked accuracy and she liked winning, even if the opponent was -
"Target approaching," hissed a voice across the room.
Jenny caught his eye and nodded, moving her arm again.
Gibbs tilted his head, and moved his hands, giving her a signal - they could ambush in a moment, as long as they weren't too aggressive - they didn't want Kelly throwing a fit at them or anything -
A few more seconds, and nothing happened. Jenny grit her teeth.
"You sure you're hearing is okay?" Jenny hissed, glaring.
"I'm a Marine."
"Yeah, an old one - aRRRGHHH!"
Jenny shrieked, suddenly breaking off - she'd just been struck in the back of the head with something rubbery that actually hit pretty hard. She whipped around, ducking just in time for one of Gibbs' nerf arrows to fly over her head and smack Levi in the shoulder as he tried to bolt away.
"Not so fast, soldier!" shouted Gibbs.
"I got her!" cackled Levi.
Jenny leapt up and got her own gun, whacking Gibbs in the shoulder with it as he caught up to her and they both darted after Levi, drawn out of their hiding places by his fire.
"So much for having my back, asshole," she hissed, trying not to laugh.
He put his hand on her back, and held up his gun.
"Yeah, well, it's two against one on his tail now."
