hey guys , got back home recently and seeing my old bed made me feel like i haven't slept in ages . i`m surprised that i stayed up long enough to write this chapter . anyway, here it is and i hope you enjoy it :)

It was the end of another school day. Maura sighed and began heading to the door. She hated the crowds, the seemingly never ending chatter floating around her as she walked in the sea of students.

Just another sixteen year old girl, nothing significant to her existence. She keeps her eye on the light filled door, as if somehow looking at it will help her reach it faster. The clear image was suddenly disturbed and turned into a mixture of colors and light that her mind could not process.

When the colors festival ended and her brain and sight started to focus once more, it wasn't the door anymore but two fury filled brown orbits staring into her own. She was suddenly aware of long fingers wrapping around her throat and closing her airway. She didn't fight, she didn't want to not really.

It was becoming more and more difficult to stay still, to fight against her own body's natural reflexes. She saw a hint of confusion, surprise in the brown orbs and grip loosened slightly around her neck, just for a second though. With a blink the surprise was wiped away and the anger won again and the fingers returned to her neck, squeezing tighter.

Jane paced around the school yard, how could she have so stupid, how could she have let this happen! idiot idiot and all this time, she thought that she was toying with Maura`s feelings, all those times she felt bad for shutting her out . Jane had on hand on her head trying to think straight. shit shit shit

She looked at her phone again. Nothing! It was gone, but it was right there, right fucking there . She knows what she saw and she doesn't have to see it again to know. what was s going to tell Korsak? Shit shit shit. Jane slammed the phone into the ground, her breath coming out ragged and her chest was heaving, the image of Maura and Hoyt never leaving her thoughts. She played me! She fucking played me!

Jane stood in the empty class room waiting. She was coming, she knows she would. Waiting however did nothing to calm her down. The plan was never to choke her but then again she didn't have a plan. She didn't know what came over her the second she laid eyes on Maura. Something just snapped inside her. How dare Maura play with my feelings like this! That's if she`s even Maura! She was going to kill me! Or worse, take me to Hoyt so he can kill me!

Jane found herself slamming Maura into the wall before her fingers found their way around her neck. She deserves this. That bitch! Did she really think she can just mess with people like this!

Jane had expected fear, panic, but what she saw shook her to the core. Maura had a look of contentment. She didn't fight back, but instead placed a hand on her forearm. It wasn't to pull her hands away, just placed there and Jane could swear that she saw the corners of her lips turning up ever so slightly. That only served as fuel to Jane's anger. She knew what Jane was attempting to do and her actions showed that she thought she deserved it. That's why she was not fighting back.

Maura's vision was turning blurry and she knew it wouldn't be long now.

She saw a fuzzy dark cloud moving into the classroom, felt fingers being snatched away and then the floor came up to meet her. Consumed by a coughing fit, her body desperate to compensate for the lack of oxygen, her throat screaming in agony. She registered the commotion next to her. Growling, grunting, shouting and the squeaking sound of sneakers.

"Get off me, damn it!"

"Jane, what do you think you`re doing!" the voice belong to Barry Frost. It ended the same way it started, sudden, fuzzy and in a mixture of colours; golden strands, dark raven mine and chocolate brown eyes.

"Maura, is there something you want to tell me?" Hoyt said crossing his arms in front of his chest as he leaned on the table. Maura looked up from the microscope with a hesitant look before she shook her head trying to brush off her burdening smile.

"Maura" Hoyt sing songed her name once more, using the tip of his pointer finger to move the golden locks away from Maura`s neck where the angry purple bruise had formed . Maura looked up at him with pleading eyes. Once. Just once she needed someone to understand without having to say anything.

Hoyt sighed, straightened his posture to fully face Maura. "Maura, what I'm about to say to you took me years to understand. All this science we try to hide behind, all the facts that we bury our lives trying to comprehend and understand. In the end, it all comes down to this : people are weak. They don't have fangs or claws, and all they can do is cry. So why is it that there are people in this world? That's because we are the cruelest of all the living creatures." Hoyt whispered the last part into Maura`s ear before pulling away and looking into her eyes.

"Am I wrong? People desire better positions than other creatures, and thrived by grouping together, craved power and that power definitely wasn't something as trivial as love. People like us, you and I we don't want to hear it, refuse to accept that. Though the world has not been kind to us, we still try fool ourselves that there is a light at the end of the tunnel. Why? Why let other people walk all over us like that?" Maura nodded slowly. What he said was right. Screw others. What did they ever do to you! Maura`s mind began traveling to all those times people did her wrong, all the things they made her go through, she felt anger starting to bubble up inside her.

"You have a good look in your eyes Maura." Hoyts voice brought her back to reality "Don't forget your hatred." Hoyt leaned closer to Maura holding her chin "and never forgive."

"Now, why don't you go home and rest. We can pick this up tomorrow." Maura nodded, her throat was still sore and she didn't trust her voice to come out as confident and composed as it always has.

This is what Hoyt loved the most about Maura, her sponge like brain, her want, no better yet, her need for a mentor made her a blank sheet, and if you found just the right colors, you can make a masterpiece.

Korsak, I need to see you" Jane spoke into the phone "Yeah sure. Half an hour. I'll see you then."

"Jaaaane" Angela's voice traveled through the house just a Jane closed the door, cursing under her breath Jane untied her shoes "Jaaaaane." Angela called again, louder this time.

"What!" Jane snapped in reply.

"Where were you? I was worried sick" Jane raised her head to see her mother standing in the hall with a wooden spoon in hand/

"Frost wanted to talk." Jane muttered.

"Oh? How is Barry? I haven't seen him around much." Angela's body relaxed.

"Fine I guess .Tell me when Korsak gets here ok?" Jane made her way past her mom heading for the stairs.

"Vince? Why? What's going on?" Angela began to worry again.

"Just tell me when he gets here." Jane replied over her shoulder.

"So let me get this straight," Korsak began, rubbing his eyes "This girl 'Maura' just showed up one day at school and tells you that she`s someone you met six years ago and you just believed that?" Jane nodded, she was pacing around in the room. "She was talking to Hoyt that day at school and you just what? Thought that it was random?" Jane nodded again, wincing at her own stupidity. "And you didn't think that you should have told me this earlier !?" Korsak`s voice raised angrily.

"I didn't think it was a big deal" Jane shrugged

"You didn't think it`s a big deal! You should have known better than this Rizzoli! You know better than this! Not only that, you actually tried to kill that girl when you found out! Ruined the only chance we had of finding Hoyt!" Vince was shouting at this point.

"I know where she lives." Jane offered.

"Oh yeah, sure! We`ll just walk up her house and enjoy a chat. Do you really think she`s that dumb to stay after what happened?! She knows that her cover is blown." he huffed in frustration.

"Let me at least try." Jane pleaded.

"No. You`ve done enough already. Just give me her name and we`ll see what we can find."

"Fine." Jane growled.

Maura stopped walking when she saw the figure sitting on the front steps.

"Oh please don't tell me you're here to end what you started." Maura said with an amused tone.

"We`ll see what happens." Jane growled. Maura let out an amused chuckle and shook her head.

"Wow! You must be dumber than I thought." Jane felt her anger growing but pushed it down, she needed this.

"Look. I just want to talk to you." Jane offered rising her hands.

"Well. I have nothing to say to you." Maura replied flatly, shifting her weight from one foot to the other.

"No! You don't get to do that. You don't get to act all high and mighty when you're the one at fault here." hissed Jane, pointing an accusing finger at Maura.

"You`re right. I'm the one who suddenly lost it and decided to choke you to death." Maura said calmly.

"Oh please." Jane mocked crossing her arms in front of her. "Don't act like you don't know what this is all about."

"I don't know what this is all about." Maura said throwing her hands in the air frustrated.

"This is about Hoyt! Wanna tell me why I got a picture of the two of you acting all chummy over a dead frog?" Jane said taking a step forward.

"Why do you care? What I do and who I do it with is none of your business. Talk about acting all high and mighty when you`re no better! YOU, who acted like I didn't even exist all this time, suddenly trying to kill me and then showing up at my door step demanding to know my life's details . You have some nerve you know that?" Maura took another step, challenging Jane.

"Just tell me why you are doing this!" Jane gritted her teeth, clinching her hands, her nails digging into her palms.

"Not everything I choose to do has to be related to you. The universe does not evolve around you and my relationship with doctor Hoyt, is certainly not about you." Maura walked past Jane, not wanting to talk anymore. Jane reached out and grabbed her wrist. Maura turned around using her left hand to twist Jane's wrist.

"Don't you ever think you can man handle me." Maura whispered harshly before letting go of Jane's wrist and walking to the front door.

"What did Hoyt tell you, to make you want to follow in his footsteps huh? Are you really that naïve or are you just as twisted as him?" Jane shot after Maura. Maura stood holding the door handle in one hand, the other resting on the door frame. How could she be such an idiot!

"Doctor Hoyt was right." Maura whispered, catching Jane off guard "You ungrateful brat. After everything he did for you , all he did to help you and do I need to mention your hands and you still," Jane flinched, Maura was walking down the steps again, getting into Jane's personal space, venom lacing every word she said, her teeth greeting hard as to not do something she will regret. Maura clenched her hands into fists forcing herself to back down and took a deep breath before continuing.

"Don't show your face here again or I'm calling the cops and telling them how I got this hand shaped bruise around my neck." Maura pointed her finger at Jane warningly before walking away.

"Hey! We`re not done here!" Jane shouted when she recovered, she had no doubt in her mind anymore, even though she didn't want to believe it. It was the truth but she wasn't going to back down, not without a fight.

"Says who?" Maura said slyly, crossing her arms and leaning on the door.

"Me! I say we`re not done here and I'm not walking from here without answers." Jane shot back.

"And who are you?" Maura`s tone didn't waiver. Jane stood there struck, by the time she recovered Maura had walked in and closed the door.

is anyone there? tell me what you think . oh and it might get worst before it gets better ;)
