Chionophile — a person who loves cold weather, snow.
"Zuko, have you ever made a snow angel?"
Zuko furrowed his brow and looked at Katara curiously. "A what?"
Katara giggled. "A snow angel," she repeated.
"Considering I was raised in the Fire Nation, I wouldn't know how to make one," Zuko replied with slight sarcasm but mostly just true honesty. It wasn't unusual for his visits to the South Pole to consist of hours of being out in the snow. Katara never seemed to tire of it and it made sense, considering it was her element and something she grew up around. She had shown him how to make snowmen, how to catch snowflakes with his tongue, and how to make snowballs before throwing them at Sokka.
"Then I'll show you!" Suddenly she fell into the snow backwards and it surprised Zuko so much that he extended his arms out to her as a reaction.
"Katara?"
The waterbender looked up at him from the snow and smiled. "I'm showing you how to make a snow angel. Lay down beside me," she patted an area of snow next to her.
Zuko hesitated before doing as he was told. Cold snow embraced his back as he laid there. The snowflakes were still falling and he felt them as they collected on his face. He looked over to Katara only to see her with her tongue out and mouth wide open. He smiled. "Are you going to show me how to make a snow angel or are you just going to continue to eat snowflakes?"
Katara closed her mouth, swallowed the few snowflakes she collected, and turned to face him with a grin. "Of course!" She widened her arms and legs. "Okay, so spread your arms and legs."
Zuko looked at her quizzically, but did as she said, spreading out his limbs. "Now what?"
"Do this," Katara's arms went up and down while her legs worked in and out. Zuko followed suit awkwardly.
Katara stopped and sat up to look at Zuko's snow angel, but found no angel. Instead, she found a cold firebender whose limbs were then covered under snow. She laughed.
Zuko sat up as well. "So, how does it look?" Katara laughed some more, making Zuko curious. "Is it that bad?" He looked at hers and saw a picture of an angel in the snow, then looked at his and saw nothing but mounds of snow. He frowned.
Katara scooted closer to him, pecking him on his cheek. "Try again?"
Zuko never liked the snow, and he still wasn't that fond of it, but he was going to stay there until he made the perfect snow angel.
Plus, he loved to watch Katara as she played in her element. He came to the conclusion that even if he couldn't make an angel in the snow, then it would be alright. He had her. And she was the prettiest snow angel of all.
