Well, first things first, I'm finally back from my hiatus, not just from this story, but from writing in general. I've been so stressed the past week that it really messed me up mentally... But anyways, I'm back with a new chapter, short but sweet. Or is it sweet? You'll just have to read it...
Secondly, I know some things aren't accurate, but you can't blame me since I haven't watched the show in so long, along with me being caught up in my other fics. So I do want to apologize about that, and I hope you'll enjoy.
Miles and Stella looked over.
"Arnold! It's so good to see you back home again!" Stella smiled. "I see you also brought home a friend?"
Arnold smiled. "Not just ANY friend, Mom." Arnold gave a side hug to Rhonda. "Mom, Dad, I'd like for you to meet my girlfriend, Rhonda." Arnold proceeded to kiss her cheek.
Miles and Stella looked at each other and blinked several times before turning back to them.
"Uh…"
"Why uh… Hi, Mrs…?"
"A pleasant surprise to meet you, Rhonda…" Stella gave a skeptical smile. "Arnold, you just now thought about introducing us to your girlfriend?"
Arnold's smile slowly dropped. "Wh- What do you mean? I was planning to surprise you guys and introduce her to you. A- Are you guys not… not keen about my little surprise o- or what's wrong?" Arnold now had a confused look.
"Arnold, sweetheart, it's not that we don't approve, we really do! But…" Stella sighed. Miles took over. "Look, son, we do approve of your relationship, but it just comes to us as a surprise since you never mentioned that you had a girlfriend."
Rhonda yelped. "Wait, you never told them about us?!"
"Can you blame me? I was just reunited with them!" Arnold answered. He then turned back to his parents. "Mom, Dad, I really wanted to tell you guys about my girlfriend, but I was mainly bonding with you guys and well, it kind of slipped from my mind up until now." Arnold hung his head.
Stella crouched and caressed his cheek. "Oh, sweetie, we know your heart is in the right place." Stella smiled and then kissed his cheek. She got back up.
Arnold smiled, but then had a question. "So, uh, do we go or do you guys have any questions for us?"
"Well, actually, how long have you guys been dating? And do Rhonda's parents know about your relationship?" Miles asked.
"We've recently started dating, we had a little mishap right before we confessed to one another. But if anything, I'm glad we got over it and managed to find it in each other's hearts to forgive each other and become boyfriend and girlfriend." Arnold replied. He smiled at Rhonda and kissed her cheek.
Rhonda briefly giggled before she took over. "And yes, my parents do know of this relationship and they definitely approve of it." Rhonda chirpily replied with a pearly white smile.
"Alright, well, I think we know what we need until we decide to question you before your next date with our son, because that's common knowledge, no?" Miles looked at Stella, who only nodded in agreement.
Arnold smiled. "Thanks, Mom. Thanks, Dad."
"Just promise us one thing." Stella then said.
"What's that?"
"Don't lock the door, and don't even think about funny business." She replied, rather sternly.
Arnold and Rhonda blinked blankly "before reacting. "Uh, ok, Mom?" Arnold replied. "So uh, now do we go?" He asked.
"Yes. Yes, you may." Miles answered.
Arnold and Rhonda soon held each other's hands and walked away together to his upstairs room.
Stella then whispered, "Do you think we'll still have time with Arnold despite him being… being rather obsessive with that girl?" Miles then got to thinking.
He realized Stella may be right. "Come to think of it, you may be right… I mean, I have seen the way he looks at her. He looks like a freaking puppy!"
Stella started to get worried. "Do you think we would've been in the wrong if we DIDN'T approve their… their little relationship?"
Miles shrugged. "Well, we can't shoot 'em down like that either, but if anything, something's telling me over the shoulder that girl will be problematic for not only us, but to our Arnold."
Stella nodded. "Yeah. She looks like those girls who are all snobby and spoiled, those girls who are more possessive, and mainly wants problems for their boyfriend and his parents. We can't allow that to happen! I mean, what are the chances that Rhonda girl tries controlling him into separating himself from us?"
Miles exhaled through his nose and crossed his arms. "I think we're gonna have to keep a close eye on those two, and something about that girl spells disaster for us. And I'm afraid Arnold has become more attached to her than to us. And we're his parents! His freaking blood!"
Stella took a deep breath to calm down before saying anything.
She exhaled. "Ok. You're right. All we can do is keep an eye on them, because we have zero clue who or what Rhonda is, and we can't throw fake evidence or anything to Arnold's face. I just hope he won't be harmed by her." Stella lightly whimpered.
Miles only pulled her into a side hug before it transitioned upstairs to Arnold's room.
"Arnold, stop! Stop it, sweetie!" Rhonda continuously giggled while Arnold continuously kissed her cheeks.
While the two lovebirds were busy having their little fun, on the roof…
"Look at these two disgusting people, who the heck does football head think he is?!" Helga grumbled while looking at the two through the roof.
"All googoo gaga for each other, how pathetic! That should be me in Princess's place! Arnoldo is making a big mistake going with that snobby princess! I know he'll regret it soon enough!" She grumbled and decided to sit down while facing away.
Back down in the kitchen, Miles and Stella weren't as concerned about a job for now, but more concerned for their son and the girl he was with.
"Are we really SURE about this? Because personally, I don't have ANY trust in that girl! She looks extremely snobby and full of ego!" Stella crossed her arms and leaned on the countertop.
"Sweetheart, I know you're worried, I am too! But we can't just act out toward them when she hasn't done anything-"
Stella interrupted. "Yet." She scoffed.
"Ok, maybe not yet? But the point here is we have to be on the lookout for Arnold and his attitude. How his attitude is, his body language, you know?" Miles suggested with a shrug.
Stella only took a deep breath. "Fine. But if anything, I don't want to know anything about that girl, I know she spells trouble. Next thing you know is that he'll want HER instead of US whenever he feels down! And trust me when I tell you this but I feel like yelling at the top of my lungs about how I feel about this! He'll always go running off to her simply because we weren't here for him! Ok? We both know and understand we weren't here but that doesn't change THAT WE'RE HIS PARENTS!" Stella started to rant, but Miles got up and walked behind her, and started to slowly massage her shoulders.
"I know you're extremely stressed about this, but please, don't stress about it UNTIL we have to. Ok?" Stella only took a deep breath and sighed.
"Miles I jus- Ugh… I just want to hold my little boy. I miss our sweet little Arnold. Like I'm seriously worried we came back too late and now he's… he's practically gone! He's not the Arnold we expected to come home to." Stella hung her head.
"It'll take time, but I know our Arnold is still there…" Miles exhaled through his nose.
"So what do we do now? Do we let them be? Check on them? I have no idea what to even think!" Stella had her hands on her head.
"I guess check on them soon, who the heck knows what those two are even up to? I mean, as long as they aren't stupid enough to lock the freakin' door." Miles shrugged and put his hands in his pockets.
Stella face palmed. "You're not helping." She decided to walk away and to her son's upstairs room.
Upstairs, she walked in, finding not only the door open, but Arnold lying on his bed with his girlfriend and looking up at the sky.
"Hey, Mom! Do you need anything?" Arnold asked, but it was probably the wrong thing to ask.
"He's not even bothering to get up…" Stella thought.
Stella only gave a frustrated look and soon turned around to leave his room. Arnold gave a confused look and immediately sat up.
Rhonda also sat up. "Are you alright? If you want, you can go see her." She suggested.
Arnold looked at his door for a few seconds. He sighed. "I think I'll be fine…" Rhonda would only shrug, but Arnold sat there for a minute before lying back down.
"This girl is actually unbelievable by this point…" Stella felt enraged yet saddened at how her son is barely caring about them.
Before you even say anything... No, I'm not gonna have Stella and/or Miles as the antagonists since that'd be rather... rather odd? Anyhow, I hope you have enjoyed this chapter, and I'll see you in the next chapter!
