Let me dance, among the stars~ 2.1

Journal

"Day 18."

"I'd love to tell you that I've been just as active as I was in Limgrave. Kickin' ass, taking runes. Yadda yadda yadda. Liurnia is largely just a whole bunch of nothing stacked upon nothing. With a fuck ton of water. I think the only exciting things that happened so far was that fight with a Bloodhound Knight and even then I killed him by using Rock Sling a fuck ton of times, and meeting this guy who got kicked out from Rays Lucaria after it got locked up like Fort Nox. Thinking of going to the Roundtable Hold today at some point. Been avoiding that place as if it were theplague."

"Side note: I can store shit in a Site of Grace and return to it later. Fucking useful as hell."

"Day 19"

"The people in the Roundtable Hold are surprisingly chill, met D who warned me against screwing with this world's equivalent of a Litch, convinced Hewg to 'train' Rodericka in the art of Spirit Ashes, chatted with Gideon and Rogier, who for some reason smells heavily of sulfur, and talked to Nepheli. Met a weird finger translator who gave me Godrick's axe, and I'm now going to wander Liurnia for a bit."

"Met Patches again, as well as Rya, got her necklace back and befriended someone who likes crawfish. Neato. Gonna head to the nearby Minor Erdtree to murk it's Avatar."

Bones POV…

Splish-splash! Splish-splash!

Torrent galloped across the incredibly shallow lake of Liurnia at a fast pace. My eyes wandered around, looking for something of note.'let's see…'I thought to myself,'rocks, water, rocks, dead tree, living tree, land octopus, minor Erdtree that I'm rapidly approaching, Irina getting water, another tree-'wait a minute. I slowed Torrent and looked towards Irina.

Her clothes look different, the blue coloring makes me think her dad took it from a Carian camp. But nothing that makes me think that she was being controlled by a spirit that serves the Frenzied Flame. She must have heard me because her head is darting left to right.

"Heya Irina!" I shouted to her, "It's me, Ossa!"

It took her a second to process that little nugget of information, before she smiled a wide smile. "Ossa!" She turned around, "Father! Ossa is here!"

Out from behind the rocks came Edgar. He had pieces of his armor on, namely the boots and gauntlets, but wore simple Traveler's garbs. Like Irina's dress, they too had a blue tint to them. "Hello there!" I called out as I had Torrent trot over to them. Once out of the water and close enough to the shore, I dismounted.

"Ah, Sir Regis." Edgar had a calm smile upon his face, "We were wondering when you'd show up. Then again, it was mostly Irina, I can't tell you how many times I caught her-"

Said daughter began weakly slamming her fists on his chest while rapidly speaking in the language of a machine gun in her embarrassment. Much to both of our amusement. Probably caught her writing poetry or talking to an animal about me.

"In all honesty, I had no idea where y'all were, me coming here was a complete accident."

Irina turned around to look at me, a frown on her face, "really?" She said softly, with a touch of sadness.

"Well…" I rolled my shoulders and looked pointedly at Edgar, "a shack in Liurnia isn't exactly the best description. Considering this place feels a lot bigger than Limgrave is."

She lightly punched Edgar in the arm, "Father!"

He chuckled, "In speaking of Limgrave," he looked at me, his expression serious, "How'd you get here? Did you go through the hidden route?"

I raised a brow, "I had no idea there was a hidden route, so I did the next best thing." I rolled my shoulders, "I'd prove to you that I have it, but it branded itself onto the middle of my chest, so that means the removal of my chest piece." I then gestured to my hip, where Godrick's crown was hanging, "If you don't believe me, look no further than my hip."

"So that means…" Irina said as, presumably, her eyes widened.

"Godrick has fallen." Her Father confirmed.

"Indeed. I'd tell the tale, if you'd like?"

Irina spun on her heel, and just before she could plead with her father, "Sure. But not here, come, let's head to our shack, it's a lot safer and-" he points to the clouds, "it's gonna storm soon, and those get particularly bad in this region."

The sound of thunder only hastened the need for shelter as we swiftly walked to the shack. The shack wasn't that large, and it looked like it was recently patched up with planks of wood. There was a huge pillar of stone that leaned over the shack. There was also a small fire in the front of the shack.

It was incredibly humble for a couple of people who once lived in a large castle. I idly touch a Site Of Grace that's nearby before Edgar opens the door. It's practically barren, with only a small chimney, some chairs, a couple bedrolls, and Edgar's gear hanging on the wall. But despite all that, it's somewhere I can see myself chilling at.

I took a chair and sat down, the wood creaked from old age as I settled down. The other two quietly sat down on their respective chairs as they waited for me to begin.

I took a deep breath, and then told them the battle Nepheli and I had with Godrick. Edgar seemed impressed, while Irina was at the edge of her seat. "But something was amiss," I said as I began looking back to what happened just a few days ago, "for the rune was inert and lifeless, it branded itself to my chest yes, but it was grey, dead, inert. But I felt a tug pulling me to the Divine tower to the west. And thus, I went there."

Flashback…

It was an incredibly difficult time trying to navigate my way to the bridge that connects Stormveil to the Divine Tower. But I'm finally here, the firsttruestep into becoming Elden Lord. I squinted, counting three Golems total. Thank god all I need to do is run like hell.

I closed my eyes, and took a deep breath. "Here we go." I exhaled, and put one foot behind me, and the other in front of me, I leaned forwards, and thensprinted. Almost immediately, the Golems began awakening, causing me to speed up. I could feel my legs burn from the strain as I ran.

Thwoom!

I dashed behind a pillar, just as a massive stone arrow penetrated where I was just moments before. I could hear the Golem grab another arrow as I watched the other two lumber towards me.

Thwoom!Crunch!

I heard its next arrow sink deep into the pillar I'm standing behind and thus began running. I could hear my heart beating in my head as I ran forwards. My eyes lock onto something behind the golem, it's a small, weird looking portal thingy. The golem notches yet another arrow, but it's too late as I run between its legs and dove into the portal.

I felt like I was being stretched like a noodle, before quickly and abruptly getting squashed back into shape. In front of me was a large entrance, big enough to fit one of those golems in there with relative ease. In the middle of the tower was a large platform, with a pressure plate in the center. I walked forwards, and pressed my foot on top of the pressure plate. It sank with a satisfyingthunkand the elevator began to rise. Within less than a minute the elevator stopped at a landing.

To the front and left, nothing but the sea, but to the right, a short flight of stairs leading to the top of the tower. I quickly walked up the stairs and came to yet another landing, this one with an entryway, with bright and golden light shining from within. A Site of Grace sat on the landing, in which I immediately touched. Melina appeared shortly after, a small, proud smile on her face.

"Ossa Regis, Bones, first of his name. You are only a few steps away from claiming the first of the Great Runes belonging to the Elden Ring." She did a grand gesture towards the light, "Go forth, and take what you earned."

Gone was the Melina who was concerned about my mental well-being, the Melina who thought me insane. This was Melina determined to see me get to my goal and hers. "And I shall," I said, turning towards the entrance, "This will be the first step, the first step of an amazing journey." I then began walking forwards with my hand outstretched.

Within moments, I gripped the Great Rune. I could feel the imprint activate on my chest, and I could feel the Rune's strength course through my body, creating golden lines that spiraled up and down throughout my body. I closed my eyes, and sighed in absolute bliss. Eventually, the power faded to a dull hum, and a tickling sensation was present in my chest. I walked back out onto the landing, and looked up at the moon, and began humming a tune as I planned on what to do next.

Present…

"And now… here I am!" I said with a grin. "My next destination is to the academy of Raya Lucaria, where Rennala resides." I gestured towards the academy's general direction.

"So you truly do plan on becoming Elden Lord?" Edgar said, leaning back against his seat.

I nodded, "I truly do plan on doing that."

Edgar nodded, and took a deep breath, "I truly hope you do. There has only ever been one man who's gotten as far as you," he opens his eyes, "Vyke."

I nodded, "So I've heard. I've also heard he abandoned his quest for some reason or another." I rolled my shoulders, "I plan onnotdoing the same. The Lands Between need someone to repair the damage that's been done, and I plan on doing it."

"I hope so." Irina says softly, "I'd rather not what happened with those who served Godrick and what occurred at Morne," she barely hides a shiver, "to happen again. Too many good people are gone now because of it."

Edgar nods in agreement, "Indeed." He stands up and kneels, his head bowed towards me, "I pray to the stars that you become Elden Lord. I would be honored to serve a proper Lord such as you."

Irina bows as well, "I too would be honored to serve you as you wish, you saved me, and my father's life. It's only fair."

I raised a brow, "The sword is enough and so is the necklace you gave me Irina," I nervously began to chuckle, "I'm not even a Lord yet."

Edgar chuckled as he and Irina stood up, "alas it is true." He says shaking his head, "but still, it's the thought that counts."

The shriek of a giant bag interrupts our conversation, "almost night time already?" I questioned, "it only felt like a few hours." I shrugged, "I guess that's my que." I said standing up.

"Wait!" Irina grabbed my gauntlet and turned to her father, "Could he perhaps… stay the night?" There was a twinge of something hopeful in her voice. That just confirms I got myself a fangirl at least.Worth it.

"Depends if he wants to, and if you keep your hands off-" she began beating her fists on his chest again.

Needless to say, I slept well that night.

In the morning…

I woke up and ate breakfast as per usual, just with a few extra steps. I noticed Irina casting a few jealous looks at Melina when she briefly appeared to eat with us, I explained that she is acting as my maiden, so I can get stronger to beat Rennala. She stopped giving looks of jealousy at Melina. I'm hoping it's because she has a single working eye and not something else.

I hopped on Torrent as Edgar began working on cutting firewood. I trotted away from their home, intent on having Torrent gallop towards the Village of Albinaurics that I passed a day or so ago when Irina stopped me once I was far enough away.

"Ossa… if you do visit again, could you show me your Great Rune?" She asked, a hopeful tone in her voice. "I just want to know what it looks like, none of the books show it's design."

That was a fairly odd thing to ask, but then again it's pretty much the equivalent of asking someone to see their tattoos, so I answered her, "Sure, nothing wrong with seeing the proof of my labors." I smiled and galloped off. Leaving a happy girl behind.

Unaware of something terrible watching us from an outcropping of a rock.

AN: Holy Golden Order did this chapter NOT wanna be written. Sorry if it's poor quality, I'm praying the next chapter will be easy to write. Because it'll be in Nephili's POV.

Melina: At this rate, you'll end up becoming the Elden Lord of concubines. You really need to stop sweeping seemingly helpless maiden's off their feet, minus me of course.

Ossa: *dies in EMOTIONAL DAMAGE*
