[NOTE: HI, I'M NOT DEAD, IM JUST BUSY LIVING AS AN ADULT :(
I know in the last few chapters, it was leading up to the "The White Garden Project Arc" but I decided to make that into a seperate book on its own. I guess you can say its my own OC movie arc? Haaaa...
Anyway, starting with this chapter, it will now go back to the original canon story line. I'm not sure how often I will post, but it will be every once in a while.
I hope you like it, enjoy~}
In light of the newfound information he had been given, Kurapika stared at the woman with the skull tattoo and his eyes narrowed down toward her as he approached her.
"What did you say?" He asked, not comprehending the words that were said.
"I said," she repeated with full emphasis, "You remind me of a woman I met not long ago."
In order to deliver these words, she would lean forward on her desk as she said them. Having placed her arms on the table, she tilted her head to the side with a look of curiosity on her face. "The more I think about it, the more I realize that you and that woman look a lot alike. Besides your gender and age, there is no difference between you two."
Her expression finally changed to an odd kind of amusement, watching Kurapika's face had begun to distort into an irritated expression.
"I don't know what you're talking about," Kurapika replied sternly. "There are no family members in my life."
"No?" she asked, chuckling a bit more, "You didn't strike me as dishonest at all. There must be something wrong with my judgment of you."
For some reason, the poor Kurta boy felt a pin in his heart as she said those words. It wasn't clear why he felt that way, if anything, it just felt wrong to him to feel that way.
Vividus and Kurapika have very similar characteristics. Of course, they are, he looked up to his older sister and aspired to be just like her. He left the village to help find a cure for his best friend because of her.
However, at the same time, the role model he loved so dearly, is what led to the death of the clan to which he belonged to. In addition to this feeling of anger, he also feels a sense of sadness that he cannot move on from.
At least not for a very long time.
"Let's say that this mystery woman happens to be a relative," he said, clutching his fist tight, "we are alike, what makes you say we are?"
In a state of astonishment, the woman blinked a few times in response to his sudden question. She wasn't expecting him to ask due to the fact that he was so stubborn. The woman had a choice to completely disregard it and send him off to complete his nen training.
Instead, she complied with him. Entertaining him one last time before he sets off into brutal training by the Hunters Association.
"Your eyes." She said, leaning back into her seat. "They both scream the desire of wanting revenge."
No matter how much the boy tried to hid it, the woman could tell he was trying his hardest to hold back a smirk. However, his face remained as still as ice. Realizing that there is nothing more to discuss. Letting out a disappointing sigh, she would save her hand at him as though she was trying to shoo him away.
"Until you can see, I cannot hire you." she said, deactivating her skull aura made out of nen, "Now get out, come back when you are ready."
Hearing him click his teeth, the Kurta boy wanted to protest but he knew just as well that the conversation is done. Especially how he made his response towards his "non-existent" sister. As he was about to turn away, he couldn't help but ask one more question.
"Can she see?"
The informant knew exactly what he meant by her. As she turned her chair around, she would take out a cigarette, placing it onto her lips as she lit the end of its bud. As she inhaled the nicotine of death, she would take it into her lungs and exhale out.
"Not only can she see," she said. "But she is beyond your level of skillset. The things she's seen in her life are something you can never imagine. All in the sake of love and revenge."
Kurapika this time around tried his best not to show any emotions, he felt as though he has exposed himself a bit too much considering he let a couple of things slipped on his end. At this point in time, he felt like he heard enough of his 'wise' older sister. As he bowed respectfully, he would say his thanks and walk out the door without another word.
Watching the kurta boy walk away, the informant seen enough to know that is going on between the siblings. Seeing how whatever happened, it was clearly not something good.
She remembered how she first met the female Kurta as she leant back into her chair. She can visualize the scene as clearly as day in her head. The sound of deadly grace and power coming from two sets of footsteps.
She knew right away, when she met the platinum-blonde woman and her dark-skinned friend, that she was a powerful woman. Even when she asked the woman to let down her zetsu for a moment in her office, those few seconds in her office felt suffocating.
"Now isn't that interesting," she spoke, her hand tracing her aura. "I haven't seen someone as strong as you in a while."
"Thank you," Vividus said, bowing humbly, "I appreciate your kind words."
"Please, no need to bow," She said, rolling her eyes, "With someone of your status, I should be the one bowing to you, not the other way around."
"My," Gaia said, blinking at the woman, "You know my friend?"
"Of course I do," she said, lighting up a cigarette but having a hard time igniting the flame. "This woman is one of the remaining survivors of the Kurta Clan, along with a floor master in heaven's arena. Even though she conceal her face with her mask of hers, other informants such as myself know enough about her to not get on her bad side."
As the woman was about to give up, Gaia pulled out her own zippo lighter with the hunter association symbol on it. Leaning over, she lit the end of the bud, inhaling the sweet nicotine as she chuckled softly.
"Thank you."
"Anything for a friend," Gaia said, shoving it back into her pocket. "Now, other than our unique friendship, we are here today to hire you."
"Hire me?" The agent said, "Now, you seem to mistake my role here. I work for the Sengi Guild to hire people. Not for others to hire me. You should know this by now Gaia."
"So?" The woman said, smirking a bit, "I'm here to help my fellow friend over here. You see, Vivi-chan needs certain information burnt away. We are trying to avoid certain hunters obtaining sensitive information if you know what I mean."
The agent was taken my surprised with the high request, she would look over at the platinum blonde who only had a neutral expression on her face. All she did was simply nod her head in agreement, confirming the job.
"Very interesting," the agent said. 'You work for the hunter association, don't you? I know you have higher power to get things done. Your job is almost identical to mine but more complex. You are an expert at disguise and an Informant Hunter."
"While I appreciate your flattery," Gaia chuckled lightly. "However, even I am limited in what I can accomplish. You must understand that even if I delete her information, lingering copies will always remain. Especially given Vivi-chan's status."
Gaia continued to explain her reasoning to her friend, pointing at the kurta survivor in her path.
"If it helps, we don't need all the information burned away; there is only one set of information we need to burn away. I think you may find interest in this."
As she let out a small puff of smoke, the purple-haired woman raised an eyebrow and smirked. It interests her that this is happening at all considering how hard they are trying to hire her.
"You have my attention."
Vividus stepped forward at this point, no longer letting Gaia speak. Since this is her request, she feels now is the right time to begin what the job entails.
"As you already know who I am, I am certain that information about me will never be lost. I am already known to too many people. Fans as well as those who want to know more about me. In spite of this, I want to make sure that one vital piece of information never reaches the surface, because if anyone finds out, they might use it against me."
While taking in the information before her, the agent blinks a few times and nods her head. As she took mental notes, she could not help but feel excitement filling her. In spite of the fact that she knows this job is going to be dangerous, she already enjoys the idea of being one of the few reliable informants in the world.
Truth is the most valuable thing in the world, as people say. This floor master is about to give everything she has to ensure this request will be granted. As a result of her serious nature, the platinum blonde caught herself a useful client she wants to remain friendly with.
In the future, she could even be an ally.
"Tell me what you want, and it shall be done."
The agent couldn't help but feel taken back by the small smile that emanated from the woman after she finished her last words. Her one and only interaction with this one made her realize that was something she rarely does.
If not, ever.
"I want you to make sure there is no information out there that points to Kurapika Kurta as a possible connection to me. Aside from the basic information of who he is, I want to make sure he has no relation to me. The fact that he is a survivor already qualifies him for keeping his information a secret, so I want to ensure that it stays that way."
A wide-eyed agent stared at the woman, thinking her request would be selfish. Instead, it was an act of selflessness. It was not something the informant expected.
"What's the reason? Is it really worth the trouble to delete such insignificant information? "
Her smile never wavered.
"I am already known as the last survivor by those who have met me first. My goal is to avoid any enemies who will come up against me in the future knowing that my little brother has also survived. When my enemies find out, I know they will do anything they can to use him against me. As he…"
Holding her hand over her chest, she trailed off. She no longer felt threatened by the aura around her. Her eyes, however, shone with bright blood-red rubies. Her words were not filled with hatred; instead, they were filled with vindication.
"Is my only weakness in this world."
Suddenly, the informat's memory vanished like smoke from her cigarette. She blinked a few times and realized she was back in the cruel reality we all live in. +
Even if she wanted to, the informant couldn't say no based on her memory. There was some kind of innocent charm about Vividus when it came to how much she cared for her family. These kinds of personalities are hard to find in the world we live in today.
The task she was given was completed as instructed. Burning all information based on Kurapika being related to Vividus in any shape or form. As predicted, there was more information about her being a survivor than Kurapika himself.
The Hunter Association server was the hardest to infiltrate out of all the data bases. As she made an update to Gaia, the fasionesta knew that would be an issue so she took care of it. Taking one thing off her plate. Upon completing her task, the informant was shocked to see the money wired to her account.
It shouldn't surprise her that the platinum blonde has money too, considering she assisted a very powerful woman. This money will enable the informant to live comfortably for the rest of her life if she ever has to go into hiding.
Although she is living a dangerous life, she is not bothered by it. Even if one day this lifestyle will be her downfall.
As soon as she meets the older sister of the Kurta boy, the boned woman can tell that the two have very different personalities. With a history she read, she knew Kurapika would never be mad at Vividus forever, regardless of these issues.
He will understand one day that Vividus' actions are for his benefit.
Keyword...one day.
