Zelda gulped nervously as the door to the doctor's office opened. She was so scared that she couldn't stop shaking. A minute later, a kind elderly blue unicorn stallion with a doctor's coat on, a slightly grey mane and tail, light blue eyes and a gust of wind for a cutie mark appeared. Approaching Zelda, he bent down to her level. "Hi, Zelda," he greeted softly and warmly. "I'm Gentle Gust and I'm here to help you."

"H-hi there," Zelda stammered nervously. "Would you like to come in and talk things out?" asked Gentle Gust. Nodding a yes, Zelda was helped out of the wheelchair and followed Gentle Gust inside. She was scared, she was frightened, she was emotionally unstable. In fact, Zelda didn't even notice another unicorn in a doctor's coat in the room. This unicorn was pink with a slight grey mane and tail, light pink eyes with glasses on and the same cutie mark. "Zelda?" she asked, causing the princess to turn nervously towards her. "It's okay. We're here to help you, sweetheart." Zelda lay down on a fainting couch as Gentle Gust shut the door behind her. "Okay, Zelda," he said. "I want to make it very clear that I'm here to help you. Anything you wish to say is okay. We're here to listen. What we care about is your well being and nothing else." Zelda took a deep breath. "Thank you," she said. "It's nice to have someone to talk to who will actually listen. It's just so much to take in. Being queen of Hyrule, getting married, moving out of Hyrule Castle. Why does it have to be so hard?" Gentle Breeze gave the princess some water, to which Zelda gladly accepted. "Do you think that perhaps the announcement of Benny's retirement might have shocked you?" she asked. "It was when I found out that I have to be queen," said Zelda. "I mean, so many things in my life are going to change." Zelda suddenly found herself struggling to talk. "The worst part is that nocreature cares about my feelings. They think I can handle being queen and that being married to Sonic means everything will be fine. They don't care about me, except Sonic." Sensing that Zelda was going to cry, Gentle Breeze handed her some tissues. "I'm sure your friends didn't mean that," Gentle Gust said. Zelda's eye began to twitch. "THEY DID MEAN IT!" she cried. "I tried to talk to them, but they were like 'Zelda, you're going to be queen so WE, DON'T, CARE!" Sobbing once more, Zelda blew her nose. Gentle Gust and Gentle Breeze began to understand what they was dealing with.

...

...

Right outside the hospital, Sonic could hear the pained cries from the Princess of Hyrule. He sighed and shook his head. It wasn't long before Beast Boy, Jasmine, Rainbow Dash, Merna and Peach arrived. "Zelda thinks we don't care about her?" panted Jasmine, catching her breath a moment later. "That's not true."

"Guess we were all so busy with our roles of the new Sparks Crew..." Beast Boy said after transforming out of cheetah form. "We didn't notice..." sighed Rainbow Dash. "How nervous she was..." panted Peach softly. Merna was the last one to catch her breath. WALL-E arrived and he too was feeling bad for his daughter. "Does Zelda really think you're the only one who cares about her, Sonic?" asked Merna. Sonic nodded without saying a word.

...

...

"After everything I've been though with my friends," cried Zelda. "Couldn't they have listened to me, comforted me or lend me friendly ear like Sonic? He was the only one who didn't ignore me!"

"Did you talk to Sonic about these feelings?" asked Gentle Breeze. "Yes," replied Zelda. "Have you spoken to your father about these feelings?" asked Gentle Gust. "No! Never!" shouted Zelda. "Is that because you think only Sonic cares about you?" asked Gentle Breeze. "Yes," replied Zelda. "Everyone else would think I'm not fit to be queen." She started to hyperventilate. "I'd be keeping Benny from his retirement and I don't want him to get in trouble because of me." Both unicorns gave her a worried look. "I think we may have found the first problem, Zelda," Gentle Breeze said. "I don't think Benny would have been upset with you if he knew you needed more time to prepare yourself to be queen."

"You don't?" asked Zelda, weakly. "No," said Gentle Breeze. "So what are you suggesting that I should do?" asked Zelda. "Well, Zelda," said Gentle Gust. "I have every reason to believe you are forcing yourself to do what others expect of you, not what you want to do."

"But I have to think of others!" cried Zelda. "It's part of my duties as princess of Hyrule!"

"Zelda, let me ask you something. Have you ever considered yourself a perfectionist?" Gentle Breeze asked. "I have sometimes," replied Zelda. "But when Sombra destroyed the Tree of Harmony, I felt like I had to let it go. Plus, my book borrowing record came to an end, I gave up Trivia Trot and so on. Being a princess means I can't have these things if it means freaking out."

"Do you think others expect you to be a perfectionist?" asked Gentle Gust. "Yes!" cried out Zelda. "Because they're expecting me to be good, just like my father! Benny is expecting me to be queen and for Sonic to be king. We have to do what WALL-E and EVE would do. My friends are expecting me to work on not freaking out..."

"Just a minute, Zelda," interrupted Gentle Breeze, calmly. "Why does Benny expect you to be queen?"

"Because I promised," replied Zelda. "Perhaps you should talk to him about it," Gentle Gust declared. "Let him know how you feel about being queen. He'll understand."

"But that's the only way I can keep the Sparks Crew going!" cried Zelda, blowing her nose with a tissue. "Did you promise you would be queen of Hyrule or did you promise to keep the Sparks Crew going for Benny?" asked Gentle Gust. Zelda took in a shaky breath. "I promised to keep the Sparks Crew going," she sniffled. "I didn't really say I'd be queen to do it." She bit her nails nervously, knowing that she might have well broken a promise. At that moment, Gentle Breeze opened the door and Zelda closed her eyes, wondering who would arrive to join her for her therapy session. A hand touched her shoulder and Zelda opened her eyes to see Sonic standing right beside her. "I thank you for joining us, Sonic," said Gentle Gust. "It seems Zelda has expressed great concern about the coronation, yes?"

"Well, yeah," replied Sonic. "She and I will be moving to a castle and WALL-E will pretty much be stepping down from the throne. Being queen is going to be a huge challenge for her." A small tear trickled down Zelda's cheek as she listened to Sonic. "Being king is a little scary for me too," said Sonic. "I was crying a little over Zelda not being around her family. Part of me doesn't think she should be queen."

"But what about Benny?" asked Zelda. "Won't he be mad at us if we don't rule Hyrule? And I don't want to leave my daddy." She turned red in the face, feeling embarrassed for sounding like a big baby. But Sonic wasn't upset at her at all. "Zelda, why don't we ask Benny to come here and talk to you?" he said. "He'll understand if you don't want to be queen. And, I also had another idea to make this transition easier, if you'll take it." Zelda listened intensively to whatever suggestion Sonic had in mind. "Part of me doesn't really want you to move away from Hyrule Castle to be honest with you," declared Sonic. "So I think you should stay at Hyrule Castle because it's your home. And," he continued. "I decided to move into Hyrule Castle if that's okay with you."

...

...

Benny Bubbles stood nervously at his new part-time house in Ordon Village. All he could think about was Princess Zelda in the hospital. "I hope she's alright," he said. Just then, Lucita Sky arrived. "Any news about Zelda?" she asked. "No," replied Benny. "I think I should go to the hospital to see how she's doing."

"It's that bad, huh?" asked Lucita. "Yeah. She's a mess!" exclaimed Benny. "And not the kind we can fix with magic."

"Benny, if it makes you feel better," said Lucita, placing a hand on her friend's shoulder. "Then, I have no objection with you checking on the princess." Benny couldn't help but smile at at his best friend's suggestion, especially since he was looking out for the princess's well being.

...

...

At that moment, a familiar barefoot, green-eyed princess in a pink princess dress arrived and a familiar princess in a blue dress teleported in with her wand. "Sorry we're late," panted Rapunzel. "I came down for your coronation."

"Well, the coronation isn't happening," said Lucita. "Why not?" asked Rosalina. "Is something missing?"

"We were all looking forward to it," added Rapunzel. "Did something go wrong?"

"I'm afraid so, Rapunzel. Zelda's in the hospital," Lucita reluctantly said uneasily. Both girls gasped! "Why? Did she get hurt!?" gasped Rosalina. "Is she sick?"

"Well, she is emotionally," said Benny. "That's why King WALL-E postponed my coronation until further notice."

"That's awful!" Rosalina cried in dismay. "Is she... going to be okay?"

"Rosalina can soothe her mental wounds by casting a soothing spell with her wand," offered Rapunzel. "I don't think that's going to work," said Benny. "Yeah," said Lucita. "Magic can't fix everything. Besides, a soothing spell would only be temporary. It's not worth the risk."

"Lucita and I have learned that when our magic powers aren't enough, we go to our other powers," said Benny. "But we want to help," protested Rosalina. "Sorry. Magic won't fix her," said Benny. "But you can send your good vibes to Zelda. I'll pass it along when I go see her."

"Are you sure?" asked Rapunzel. "What about my hair?"

"That won't work either," Lucita declared, shaking her head.

"Yes," replied Benny. "This is beyond something magic can do. Now I've got to go. I'll send her your love."

...

...

Zelda couldn't believe what Sonic had suggested. "You're moving in? With me?" she stammered. "Won't Navi miss you?"

"She'll move in with us too," said Sonic. "Just because WALL-E's stepping down from the throne doesn't mean he doesn't love you. And that goes for me too, princess. Besides, Navi doesn't take up very much space." Zelda chuckled softly. "It'll help me too, Zelda," said Sonic. "Because ever since we parted ways after I saved you from Ganondorf, I had anxiety that we would drift apart when I put the master sword down. You're more than a princess to me, Zelda. You're like a sister and that will never change."

For the first time since her ordeal began, Zelda managed a weak smile. "Well," said Gentle Gust, pleased with what he and his partner were seeing. "It looks like we've solved the first part of the problem." Zelda grinned and Sonic, Gentle Gust and Gentle Breeze were pleased that she was starting to feel a little bit better.

But the mental battle was not over yet.

"Now let's tackle the next part of the problem," said Gentle Breeze. Zelda couldn't help but feel worried for what was going to happen next.

...

Meanwhile, back in the waiting room, WALL-E and all of his daughter's friends waited for any news. "I hope Zelda's okay," said Beast Boy. "Don't we all?" sighed Rainbow Dash. "I hope we'll get a chance to say sorry. We shouldn't have expected her to work on not freaking out."

"I'm scared too," confessed WALL-E, quietly. His daughter's friends looked to him in surprise.

"Remind me why, your majesty?" inquired Jasmine. "Because when Zelda becomes queen, she'll move to another castle," said WALL-E. "And Beast Boy and Lucita will be moving into Hyrule Castle. As for me, Eva and I are going to go back to my old truck where I used to live for seven hundred years. But now that I know she's scared to be queen, I feel scared for her." Zelda's friends listened. "Why does EVE have to move with you?" asked Jasmine. "She lives in Hyrule Castle ruins with Zelda's twin sister, Marin."

"Yes, but it was lonely living in Earthville all by myself. I wanted someone to share my world with me. A robot needs more than a pet cockroach to talk to. When I first met Eva, I fell in love greatly. If she didn't come with me, I would have to relive my lonely life and Eva has promised to make sure I'd never be lonely again," explained WALL-E. "My cockroach has been in Earthville ever since I moved here. The reject bots didn't like the idea of having a cockroach as a royal pet, so when Zelda was a little girl, we got a rabbit instead. But unfortunately, it didn't work out."

"We're scared too, WALL-E," said Jasmine as tears started to form. "We thought we should play it cool when we found out that Zelda's going to be queen, but the truth is, we don't want her to leave her home. She belongs in Hyrule Castle. It doesn't matter if she's queen or princess."

"We need to work together when Ganondorf strikes again," said Merna. "And we need her to be there for us," said Peach. "And what if you forget how to dance again?" cried Rainbow Dash. "We gots to tell Zelda that, yo!" cried Beast Boy. "I'm not going through with the coronation if Zelda doesn't want to be queen, guys."

"Well, the problem is she promised to keep the Sparks Crew going for Benny," WALL-E sighed. "I don't want to leave Hyrule Castle. Like you said, Rainbow Dash, I need her just as much as she needs me."

At that moment, the door to the office opened and out came Gentle Breeze, sighing and wiping down her glasses. "How is she, doctor?" asked WALL-E, his eyebrows pricking up in great concern. "Well, the good news is we're making progress to get Zelda's anxieties under control," replied Gentle Breeze, wiping sweat off her head. "But it's going to take some time to completely control them." At that moment, Link, Amy and Tails arrived. "WALL-E, how's Zelda?" asked Link, out of breath. Before WALL-E could answer, Link saw Zelda and dashed right to her side. "Oh, my princess. My sweet girl," he whispered while hugging her as Sonic looked on. "Zelda. how are you?" asked Tails in concern as he came to her side and rubbed her arm.

"I'm going to be okay," replied Zelda, trying to sound brave. "You don't need to hold it in," said Sonic, stroking her hair. Then Amy came in. "Oh, Zelda, we're right here for you," she said in a gentle whisper. After they shared a little group hug, they backed away to give Zelda some space. Gentle Breeze turned to Zelda's other friends. "Alright," she said to them. "Zelda said she's willing to see each of you one at a time. We decided that the next step is to clear the tension between you and her. Who wants to go first?"

Zelda's friends each felt their hearts drop. They didn't know how to face their troubled friend, but there was nowhere left to hide. "Zelda wants to talk to us?" asked Beast Boy, hoping it wasn't the case. "She's willing to talk to you one at a time," Gentle Breeze replied. "It'll be easier that way." Beast Boy looked to the others. "Well…" he said slowly. "I'll go first. I'm sure she'll be able to hear me out. I've always opened her up to possibilities one way or another." The little shapeshifter followed Gentle Breeze to Zelda, who was leaning on Sonic. She noticed Beast Boy coming and turned to face him, whose face was full of concern and sadness. "Hey, Zelda," sighed Beast Boy. "I'm sorry if I made you feel like I don't care about you. It's a big challenge for us, girl, and I understand how hard it is for you. No matter what your title is, Princess or Queen, you'll always be a friend to me. Do I really wants things to change?" He sat down and stroked the side of her head. "No, because I need my friend with me, just as you need me. I need you to be where you belong, and so does Hyrule, girl." Cupping her chin in his hands, Beast Boy smiled weakly before backing away.

Peach was the next one to go. She struggled to hold back her own tears, but she bravely took a deep breath. "Zelda? Can you hear me?" she asked. Zelda looked at her. However, Peach lost control of her emotions and tears poured down her face. "I CAN'T STAND YOU LEAVING HYRULE! I NEED MY BEST FRIEND HERE WITH ME! I FEEL SO TERRIBLE FOR TREATING YOU SO BADLY! CAN YOU EVER FORGIVE ME?" Unable to say anymore, Peach left the room, escorted by Gentle Gust.

Next, it was Jasmine's turn. "Zelda," she said. "It was really unfair of me to treat you this way during a big change. It's the creature in a wedding dress that I care about. I may have big dreams of expanding my waredrobes and giving helicopter rides to the next generations of creatures, human or not, but all that matters to me is your happiness. I promise to be kind and respectful to your mental health, darling."

Sobbing lightly, Jasmine left the room. It was Merna's turn to go up. She walked slowly up to Zelda's bed and the princess turned to face her. "Hey, Zelda," she said. "The big change won't be fun if you have to change titles. I know being queen is going to make you sad. I need someone to laugh with and life is better with you by my side. I need you to put a smile on my face and I'm happy to do the same for you…" But Merna couldn't say more without crying loudly and hugging Zelda. It took a few minutes before the yellow hedgehog had to be escorted out of the room.

Finally, it was Rainbow Dash's turn to face Zelda. But first, a certain bubble boy needed to help her. The very same retired young hero who wasn't with the group at the moment.

Benny Bubbles bounced to the hospital as fast as his bubble shoes would carry him. He panted when he reached the office. "Is she still here?" he asked. "Certainly," said the receptionist. Benny popped his bubble shoes and walked to Zelda's room. At the same time, Rainbow Dash prepared to face Zelda. "Princess Zelda," she whispered. "I know everypony's been telling you this, but… I… I need you. You're such a good friend and I speak for all of us when I tell you how much I need you when I have my own personal crisis. Even if you do get over supportive like my parents, it doesn't matter, because your heart is always in the right place. Everypony loves you, Zelda, and so do I. I've learned that the code of the Wonderbolts is to always look out for each other, but I didn't do so. You're the best friend and teammate I've ever had. I'll never turn my back on you again, Zelda. I promise." She shuddered, but held her ground. "It's okay, Rainbow Dash," said WALL-E. "I've been there." Rainbow Dash smiled sheepishly, rubbed Zelda's head and backed away.

Now that everycreature had said their piece, Tails bent down to Zelda. "Zelda?" he said. "Amy, Link and I will each put your well being first and we're more than happy to support you any way we can, no matter what happens, we'll always love you." Amy stepped forward. "Link's right, Zelda," she whispered. "You have inspired us all, just like your dad and that's what makes you great." She gave Zelda a big hug. "And don't forget," said Tails. "You are the best friend I've ever had, and you always will be."

All Zelda could do was look at Tails and realize that it was true.

Finally, Benny spoke up. "Excuse me. How is she?" he asked softly. "Zelda won't even talk to us, Benny. She's so hurt!" cried Peach. "We can't live without her, Benny!"

"She belongs as princess," said Merna. "But she won't believe us when we tell her that." Benny took a deep breath and stepped into the office, immediately catching the attention of Gentle Breeze and Gentle Gust. "Hello there. Who are you?" asked Gentle Gust. "I'm Benny Bubbles," Benny shakily answered. "I'm going to be prince of Hyrule soon."

"Benny?" said Sonic, surprised. "What are you doing here?"

"I'm here to help Zelda," Benny bravely declared. He walked around the couch and bent down beside Zelda. He felt nothing but sympathy for the poor princess. "Benny? Why are you here?" asked Zelda, weakly. "Is it… time for me to sign the adoption papers?"

"No, Zelda," replied Benny. "Your well being is really important to me. I know you promised to keep the Sparks Crew going for me, but you don't have to be queen to do it."

"I don't?" squeaked Zelda. Benny shook his head. "You're clearly happier being princess than you would be as a queen. And I never said you have to move out either. You should go wherever your heart tells you and I'm sure others will be more than happy to respect that." Benny took another deep breath. Then, he used his bubble powers to create a doll shaped like a butterfly. "Here. This will remind you of the fun adventure you had with me and the butterflies. I know you enjoyed that time and I enjoyed leading it just as much. It's going to be an 'I'm So Glad You're Staying' gift." Taking the bubble doll in her hands, Zelda turned it this way and that, admiring it just like her father did with a Christmas present. Benny couldn't help smiling. Zelda was just as curious about this gift as her father had been with his Christmas gift. With a smile, Zelda opened the present. She was surprised. "A book of memories?" she asked in disbelief. "Yes, memories from each of your friends," said Benny. "It was so you could look back on the good times you've had whenever you miss Hyrule. But even though you're not moving now, you can still keep it. I don't mind." Zelda smiled. "Thank you, Benny," she said. "I love it." Benny was happy. "And Rapunzel and Rosalina wanted to send you their good vibes," he said. "That's nice of them," said Zelda. "I'll be sure to thank them when I get home." Gentle Breeze and Gentle Gust were glad to see that Zelda's mind was being put to ease. "Very good, Benny," said Gentle Breeze. "We're so proud of you."

"Thank you," said Benny. "So now that Zelda knows she doesn't have to be queen, can she…" His voice trailed off however, knowing it was probably going to be a bad question. "She can't go home yet," said Gentle Gust. "We still have to run some tests on her."

"Tests? But I didn't study!" cried Zelda. "No, it's not the kind of test you have to study for," said Gentle Gust with a chuckle. "It's a series of medical tests. In fact, we think it would be best for you to stay overnight. That way, we can have a clear diagnostics of your condition which we'll be able to deliver in the morning." Zelda was sheepish that she'd taken an expression literally, but she was also worried about what the medical tests would involve.

In another part of the hospital, Zelda looked at the two therapists. "Are you sure about this?" she asked. "In our opinion, we think your mental health isn't well enough for you to go home," said Gentle Breeze. "We are pleased with the progress you and your friends have made, but we still need to observe you overnight. Are all of Zelda's things packed?" Gentle Gust asked. "Most of them are," replied Sonic. "Her clothes, toys, books, you name it."

"We think the most important things to Zelda should be unpacked and placed where they belong," Gentle Gust said as a recommendation. "And whatever is not so important to her goes to her new castle. That way, Zelda will have a stable environment when she goes home."

"And, you should work through the process together so that the pain you feel will go away," added Gentle Gust. "We'll take you up on that suggestion," said Sonic. "It'll be nice to move back and forth between castles." With that, Gentle Gust pressed a button on the intercom. "Prepare a room for a patient in our office," he said. "Make sure it has an invisible villain-proof barrier. Princess Zelda will be staying here tonight and we do not want any villains abducting her in the middle of the night." Zelda was pleased they were going to make sure she would be safe in the night. "So what are you going to do?" she asked. "First, we have to take some blood," replied Gentle Gust, making the others gasp in shock! "B-b-b-blood!?" stuttered Rainbow Dash. "B-b-b-but she'll suffocate! I mean, I've seen horror movies about somepony losing their blood. When I went on animal adventures with Rosalina, she showed me prey that died from blood loss. And I've seen other horror movies where something sharp was injected into a victim that either made them lose blood or inject poison in the bloodstream that killed them! I don't want Zelda to die! None of us do."

"Dash, they're not going to kill me," sighed Zelda. "These guys really know what they're doing. Sure, it'll hurt, but this is part of the process so it's nessesary."

"That is correct, Zelda," said Gentle Breeze. "You're in good hands here and we'll make sure no harm will come to you." Zelda was relieved to hear that, but gasped when she saw a phlebomist pony with a butterfly needle and a medical tube. "This one will be the least painful," he said. "I'm just going to search for a vien." Zelda gulped as he did so. Despite telling her friends and family that she wouldn't be killed, Zelda couldn't help but feel nervous. "There's no need to be nervous," said Gentle Gust tenderly. "We'll be with you the whole time." Zelda took a deep breath and squeezed her eyes shut to brace herself for the incoming pinch of the needle. "That's a good girl," said the phlebomist. "Almost done." Before Zelda could respond, the needle was taken back out. Only was a bandage wrapped around Zelda's arm did she dare open her eyes. "You see, sweetie? You're done," said Gentle Breeze. "Now you can come with us to the room." Zelda was placed onto a hospital bed and wheeled away.

At that moment, WALL-E turned to Benny. "I have a plan," he whispered. Benny slowly began to realize what WALL-E was planning to do. "You mean…?" he started. "Yes," replied WALL-E. "The time for your new destiny has come."
