I woke up to the light of a new day coming through the window and I smiled.
I was marrying Steve today.
With a huge smile on my face, I lifted my arms and let them fall back down before seeing rose petals flying up.
Looking around I saw rose petals all around on the bed and around the room. I smiled when I saw a note on the pillow next to me. Picking it up I started to read it.
To my lovely bride-to-be,
I hope the girls were able to do what we had planned and that you love it. I can't wait to be married to you today. You are truly making all of my dreams come true. I love you more than I could ever say but I promise to spend every day showing you how much I love you. I will see you in a few hours my love.
I love you with all that I am.
Your loving soon-to-be husband, Steve.
He was so sweet and kind and I could not wait to be his wife in a few hours.
Hearing knocking on the door, I called out.
"Come in" The door opened to reveal the ladies and I smiled.
"How did you sleep on your last night as a single gal?" Nat asked me.
"Good, but I can't wait for today."
"Then let's get ready," Pepper told me.
I got out of bed and Nat held up my robe helping me to put it on before we headed to the room we were getting ready in and I saw all kinds of food.
We started to eat and get ready talking and laughing.
I was having a pretty amazing morning. There was a knock on the door and Pepper went to get it.
She came back with dad.
"I know what you are all going to say but I have something for my girl. So do you think I can borrow you for a moment?"
"Of course" I got up from my chair and followed dad out into my room, after we were in he closed the door.
"Now if you have changed your mind, say the word right now and I will get you out of here."
"Daddy, I love him. I want to marry him."
"If you are completely sure."
"Daddy, just because I am marrying Steve today does not mean I stop being your little girl and needing you. I will always be your little girl and need you. I will just need you in different ways."
"I truly got lucky in the daughter department. You are the best one a father could ask for."
"You are going to make me cry, dad."
"I know but this is going to make you cry more. When your mom and I were together we almost got married. And in that time we had got some things for the wedding. So when things didn't work out that way we decided to give it to you on your wedding day. Here your mom will do better explaining, she always does."
He handed me a letter and I slowly started to read mom's words.
My darling girl,
Today you are getting married. No longer will you just be mine and your dad's little girl but you will be a wife. I know if you are reading this I am no longer with you. I do want you to know how much I love you and that I will be there every step of the way with you today. I know you have become such an amazing and wonderful young woman and your dad and I are so proud of you. I also know your groom is pretty special because that is the only way you would be here today. Make sure he treats you like the queen you are but make sure you are a kind and gracious one. Be there for each other in every way. Have open hearts with one another and never go to bed angry. Be the amazing and wonderful person you are. I know that you will be an amazing wife and he is extremely lucky. I also know one day you are going to be an outstanding mom because you have the biggest heart and ever since you were a little girl all you could ever talk about was having your own fairytale love story. Falling in love, getting married, having a family, and living happily ever after and that is what I want for you as well baby girl. I hope today is everything you have ever dreamed it to be and so much more. But also remember that it is ok if everything doesn't go as you planned it because at the end of the day, all that matters is that you are starting a new life with the one you love. Plus knowing you and your father you will be getting married in some kind of castle just like you have always wanted to and your dad will be all over it for his little princess.
I love you baby so much, more than I could ever say. You are the very best thing in my life, you always have been and you always will be.
Now your dad and I have a gift for you which we got years ago before you were born when we planned to get married after having you. Now we want you to have it for your special day. Your father has your gift for you and I hope you love it as much as we did. We love you, sweet baby girl. Have the most beautiful day because you deserve it.
Love forever Mama
I was glad I had not got my makeup done yet because I had tears pouring down my face. I looked up at dad and he held his arms open.
"Come here, baby girl." Throwing my arms around dad I cried and let him hold me.
"I wish she was here, I miss her so much. Do you think she would have liked Steve?"
"She would have loved him just like the others but she would love him even more because he loves you so much."
"I wanted to do all of this with her."
"I know you did, and I am so sorry you don't get that chance. I know that nothing anyone does will ever make not having her here all better. But I do hope that having all of us here helps ease that for you and makes you feel better a little bit."
"It does and I am so glad I have all of you, she left me some amazing people all around to love me and have my back. I'm glad I have you dad. You truly are an amazing dad. I love you dad so much."
"I love you, baby girl." I let him pull me back in his arms once again and let him hold me tightly.
"Are you ready for your gift?"
"Yes" I opened the small box he handed me and looked at it.
Inside sat a beautiful hair comb that had a leaf pattern to it and had diamonds, amethyst stones, and pearls on it. It was truly spectacular.
"Dad, it's beautiful. I love it, thank you."
"Of course, we both wanted you to have it. I had some of the diamonds changed to amethyst years ago when you said that it was your favorite."
"Dad, it truly is amazing, thank you so much."
"Your mom wanted you to have it and love it as she had. She was always prepared for anything. When you were ten she gave me a box full of letters, gifts, and other things. She told me that if anything happens to her she wanted me to give them to you at the moment wrote on them. She was always prepared for everything. Something else you get from her. I on the other hand misplaced the box but found it right before your birthday."
"Thank you, dad, for everything. I know today is not that easy on you but I am so grateful I have you with me for it."
"Baby as hard as it is to watch my baby girl grow up and to watch you move to the next chapter of your life. I am so incredibly proud of you and happy for you. You have found what a lot of people dream to find. You are happy, strong, beautiful, and amazing in all you do. While it hurts knowing that you will no longer be just my little girl and will be a wife by the end of the day. I am happy that you are so happy and that you found the guy worthy of all you have to offer. I can't wait to walk you down that aisle because I know that you are happy, loved, and cared for. I know Steve will provide for you and protect you. That you will also have his back. Baby girl, you have always been so much more mature than other people around you and see the whole picture. You have been right about everything. So how could I think you would be wrong about this? You are going to make an amazing wife and one day hopefully a while from now you will be the most amazing mother. I am so incredibly proud of the beautiful women standing in front of me. You are more than your mom and I could have ever dreamed of and I am so lucky to be able to be your dad."
By the time he was done, I was fully crying and he pulled me into his arms once more.
"I love you, daddy, so much"
"I love you, baby girl, now let's dry your tears or I'm sure Romanoff will have my head for making you cry." That made me smile and laugh some.
"I think you would have all of them after you."
"You are most likely right about that. Now let's take you back to them so you can get ready to be married."
"Thank you, daddy, for everything."
"It has been my genuine pleasure."
With one more quick hug, we both walked back to the others.
"You made her cry, Stark?" Nat asked, annoyed.
"Don't worry Nat, they were happy tears. I also have this for my hair." I showed her the box. "It was my mom's"
"It's perfect." I smiled at her.
"Well, I will trust that I am leaving my little girl in good hands. Take care of her and I will see you soon." He placed a kiss on my forehead and then left the room.
"Let's get ready to get you married," Nat said and we got started on make-up and hair.
There was laughing and stories being told as we got ready.
We were all enjoying ourselves and having a good time.
"I still can't believe you are getting married. You are all grown up and no longer the little girl that used to run around everywhere. I am so happy for you love." Mel told me with a smile.
"Thank you, I am pretty excited."
"You deserve it. You deserve all of this and we are all happy for you." Nat answered.
"We are also so proud of you, everyday you amaze everyone with the amazing person you are and all you do," Laura added.
"You are an amazing Auntie," Lila said with a smile.
"Well thank you, beautiful girl. You make it easy, I'm so glad you decided to be my flower girl."
"I got you Auntie Beks"
"I got you, sweetie."
"Are you ready to marry Steve, Auntie Bek's?"
"I am"
"Do you think he will be ok if we call him Uncle Steve after?" I saw the others smiling.
"I think he would be fine with that."
"Do we get to put on our pretty dresses now?"
"That we do. Do you want me to help you?"
"Ya, then I can help you."
"I think that sounds like a perfect idea. Come on little one, your dress is in my room."
I grab her hand and we head into the room to get changed while the others all get their dresses on.
The bridesmaid's dresses were all baby blue simple and long. They also had white fuzzy shawls to have on while outside to keep warm.
As for Lila's dress, it was blue but a shade darker than the bridesmaid's dresses. It had some lace and sparkles on the top before flaring out and having sparkles on the skirt of it as well.
Both of us had matching white long fuzzy on the inside cloaks that we would wear outside.
Grabbing her dress from the hanger I helped her to slip it on and do up the zipper. She turned around and I looked at her.
"You look beautiful."
"I feel like a princess."
"You look like one."
"This is the best day ever."
"I think so too."
"We need to get Auntie Nat to marry Bucky so I can be a flower girl again."
"I am working on it, but I will need your help."
"You can count on me."
"I knew I could, my little super spy."
"Super spies forever."
"Super spies forever." we linked pinkies and I smiled at her.
"Do you think you can help me with my dress now?"
"Yes, I can."
Getting the dress I smiled and pulled it from the hanger before stepping into it and pulling it into place.
"Will you zip it up?" She stood on a chair and zipped it up. Turning around I helped her down before taking a step back.
"What do you think?"
"It's even prettier now. YOU look like a princess."
"Thank you, sweetie. Do you think they will all like it?"
"They will love it. You look gorgeous."
"Well, you do as well. Should we show the others?"
"I think we should." I looked in the mirror and smiled before she walked over to me and held my hand.
"I'm happy for you Auntie Bek's, you are so happy that you sparkle."
"Well thank you, I'm happy I get to spend my special day with you."
"There is nowhere I would want to be more."
"Well, I am glad I have you."
"No problem, I'm always here."
"That makes me very happy, come on beautiful, let's show the others."
"I will go out first then I can see how they look at you."
"Alright, go on." She gave me a hug before running out and I heard the others all gush over her which I'm sure she was loving.
Looking back in the mirror I grabbed the chain that hung from my neck and held the rings. Something I realized I did for comfort.
"I wish you were all here with me today. I love you all so much." With one last look, I made my way out to show the others.
Walking into the main room they were all standing there waiting the moment I came out I heard many gasps and sighs and all kinds of reactions.
"You look, beautiful love," Mel said walking to me first.
"Thanks,"
"You look amazing and I love the smile that brings it all together."
"Well thank you, Nat."
The others went around telling me how good I looked and I tried to remember they were because they cared and loved me and I was going to be in the spotlight today, so I would accept all of the compliments they were giving because there would be a lot more.
"Are you ready to go down?"
"I am, I feel like I have been my whole life."
"Then let's go get you married," Nat said, grabbing my arm.
We all got anything we would be needing for the ceremony and then headed down.
They all went into a room we were waiting in and I went into a room to see dad before the ceremony started.
Walking in we were alone and I was happy about that. He stood at the window looking out and I walked closer until I was a few feet away.
"Hi," I said quietly but he heard me and turned around.
As I looked at his face I tried not to start crying again. I could see tears in his eyes and he had a huge smile on his face.
"Baby girl, you look stunning. You are all grown up and have become such a beautiful woman. I am so proud of you and I know I already told you but I can't say it enough because it is true. You are amazing."
"Thank you, daddy. This is everything I could have asked for and more. I am so grateful for you and all everyone has done. I never thought we would see this day."
"I know but I am happy we get to. You are going to have such a beautiful life and you make a beautiful bride."
"You really think so?"
"I know so my darling. You are truly radiant and shine wherever you go and wherever you are."
"I am glad you are my dad."
"I'm not perfect."
"No one is, but that is what makes me love you more. No matter what you keep trying to do and be better for me. Every single day you are trying to do better for me and I am grateful for it. I truly am. I know things have been crazy and wild and nothing has gone how we have all planned in life but even with all of the sad, and bad moments I am glad that we have been able to do it all together. I'm glad that I have you by my side."
"I will always be on your side from now on and I will trust you. You are truly the most amazing daughter I could ask for. If there is anyone even close to perfect it would be you. I love you, baby girl."
"I love you, daddy."
"Let's go get you married, your groom is waiting."
"That sounds good." He looped his arm through mine and we went into the other room.
Nat, Larua, Wanda, Bobbi, Daisy, Jemma, Bells, Kara, and Lila were in the room and lined up waiting for us. They were all my bridesmaids and as my maid of honor, Nat handed me my bouquet. Which was full of blue and purple flowers which were the colors and then a few silver flat flower accents down the middle of it.
"Thank you, Nat."
"Of course. Everything is ready now, we just need to go."
"Let's do it."
They were given their cue and one by one they started to walk in.
It felt like a lifetime waiting for each of them to walk out and the next to start their walk but slowly we were moving forward and I was getting a little nervous.
I was about to walk into a room where everyone was going to be looking at me.
What if I tripped, or said something wrong, what if Steve changed his mind, what if I did something to ruin the wedding? What if I passed out while everyone was watching? I had so many thoughts running around my head and now I just had Laura, Nat, and Lila in front of me.
I was starting to freak out and I think dad could tell because all of the sudden he grabbed my hand that was linked through his with his other hand and held it.
"Breath sweetie."
"What if I trip, mess up, or do something stupid? Everyone is going to be looking at me."
"You will be fine. I will make sure you don't trip, I have you. Then Steve will be right there the whole time. You will be fine. You will not do anything stupid and it will not be messed up. You have this, you have practiced many times since we got here and I believe that you can do this. As long as you still want to marry Steve."
"Of course, I still want to marry Steve. More than anything I want to marry Steve."
We were down to just Lila as Nat made her way out.
"Then you will be fine. Once you are with Steve you won't notice anyone else I promise you. You will be too busy looking at him to see anyone else."
"Thank you, daddy. I needed that."
"It is what I am here for."
Lila walked out and I turned to hug dad one last time. One last time just the two of us, one last time as Rebekah Stark, Because soon I would be Rebekah Rogers and while I was excited I also knew I would miss this a little as well. The music changed and dad looked at me with a smile.
"It's our turn, are you ready?"
"More than ever." We started to walk out and I knew that Forever starts today.
