"Cal."

The hunter gives a soft groan at the coaxing whisper against her ear but doesn't answer beyond that small acknowledgment.

"Cal." Her girlfriend attempts once again. Her fingers continued their soft tickling caresses over Cal's exposed skin as she attempts to rouse the napping hunter. Again, her attempts were ignored in favor of just a few more seconds of true rest.

She was safe, she was happy, and the best part of it all was she was with Juliette in a very real sense and not just a shared dream she would soon wake up from. Her life for the moment was going beyond well. Why spoil it?

"Come on Cal do you really want our mothers to catch us in such a compromising position?" Juliette's sinfully low voice asks in a whisper against her ear. "I mean I'm the only one between the two of us in any real clothes." Jules goes on now she knew she had her hunter's attention. The towel Cal had been wrapped in having come untied and fallen to the floor while the two had been sleeping.

"So what?" Cal mumbles not inertly hearing what was being said as she rolled over to nuzzle her cheek into the dip of her legacy's shoulder. It was still amazing to her just how warm Juliette was considering all the wildly inaccurate accounts of how vampires were meant to be as cold to the touch as death itself.

Not her Juliette.

No, her Juliette was as warm as a cozy fire on a cold day, or at the very least as comforting as a blanket freshly pulled from a warm drier.

"So, if I don't get you dressed and presentable before they get her your mother will likely drive a stake into me after she kicks in the door and sees you…." She trails off her hooded eyes flickering down the tempting length of her hunter's exposed body. "like this." She finishes making Cal shudder in proud anticipation when she hears the soft unsheathing of her legacy's fangs in an obvious indicator of Juliette's hunger for her.

"We're dating Jules she already knows….." Cal yawns then shakes her head her eyes hardening as the weight of what had been said sinks in. "wait, Mom's here?"

"Both of them yeah." Juliette clarifies struggling to put away her fangs against the half-display of her hunter's temptingly toned upper body as Cal pushed herself up a little straighter against the bed. "So, hurry and get dressed and we can still make the surprise I asked the others to set up for us on the roof."

At this Cal noticed a garment bag hanging on the bathroom door. She was almost positive hadn't been there when she'd last closed her eyes. "On the roof? Seriously?" Cal laughs with only a brush of humor in her voice as the rest of her rebels at the need for anything other than the blissful lounging she'd been allowed wrapped in her girlfriend's arms.

"What? We had our first real fight on a rooftop." The smirking legacy reminds swinging her suit jacket back around her shoulders as she gives herself a quick double-checking in the wardrobe mirror. She decided to leave the first few buttons of her shirt undone liking the air of rebellious sophistication her look provided as she runs a tussling hand through her hair shaking even more strands free from the braid it had been tied in. "So really it's kind of sentimental."

Cal chews her lower lip at the reminder grateful for the distraction of inspecting the mystery garment bag.

"I'm thinking you're liking seeing me in a dress Fairmont." Cal snickers unzipping the thing with deliberate slowness despite the buzzing curiosity filling her at what could be inside it.

"Maybe," Juliette confirms with a blush. "You look stunning in anything you put on Cal make no mistake."

Again, Cal chews her lower lip as her gaze finds her girlfriend's reflection standing behind her "Back at you Jules." The hunter smiles, forcing herself to meet her legacy's eyes instead of lingering too long on the fresh sight of her tiny girlfriend rocking that suit.

"Come on Burns we have to hurry if we're gonna beat our mothers to the roof." Juliette reminds with a wince Cal can guess was her legacy picking up the scraping ping of a closing elevator door against Juliette's sensitive hearing.

Cal barely registers the softness of the silky fabric sliding over her skin as she steps into the offered dress or the stinging tug of the hair tie biting into her hair as she whipped the unruly mess into a half-decent ponytail as she gives a questioning "zip me up?" to the watching legacy standing transfixed behind her.

"Zip up. Yeah. Sure." Juliette agrees, shaking herself out of her daze as she nodes once in quiet agreement with the asking. "Zip up."

Out in the hallway, Cal spares a glance towards the slowly crawling numbers of the lifting elevator carrying her and Juliette's mother closer.

"Come on. Babe." Juliette encourages her fingers lacing quickly with Cal's leading the way towards the rooftop stairwell.

"Where are they?" Talia Burns demands not liking the fact the door to the room Ben had told them Juliette and possibly Cal would be in was now standing virtually open without her daughter inside it.

"You think this is fun…." Talia starts to argue back but Margot holds up her hand mostly pointing upward as if Talia was meant to understand the action.

"Sneaky little ones, aren't they?" Margot praises in amusement. "It seems our girls moved their meeting to the rooftop for the evening." She explains at her companion's teeth-gritted glare as Talia Bruns glares around the room at the same time as Margot was gesturing towards the room door with an amused "Shall we?"

"What do you think?"

Cal could only gasp in honest shock at the sight awaiting them on the hotel rooftop. A soft tune already playing from the set-up speakers as they drew closer.

The simple gazebo-styled setup of their obvious destination was wrapped with a few glittering strands of fairy lights casting shimmering rainbows of light against the darkening sky overhead. The see-through tiles of the covered roof offered a clear view of the starlight overhead should the rumbling storm the two could see on the horizon reach them before they'd stayed their fill.

"If it's too cheesy or Twilight-y I can call Carm and Ollie bac…."

Cal spins around to press a quieting finger against Juliette's rambling lips. Her legacy was uneasy at the hunter's prolonged silence. "You did all this for me? For us?"

Juliette smiles against the digit resting against her lips. "Yeah." She breathed against Cal's skin. "I figured you deserved a real prom, Cal."

In truth, it's the low sounds of her daughter's giggling laughter that keeps the on-edge mother from calling out to Cal once she and the following vampire reach the landing of the so carefully set up hotel rooftop. "Damn." The hunter gapes in surprise at how peaceful it all seemed once her initial feelings of dread ebbed away under the soft glow of the lights and the genuine stillness around them.

Margot behind her gave a smile of her own as she like Talia watch the valiant spin move Juliette was attempting with the much taller Cal before she gives up backing a few steps to dip into a half bow still holding Cal's hand with a questioning "May I?" that catches even Cal's attention as the shorter girl's fingers graze along the hunter's wrist.

The scent reaches them before the sight does.

"Is this what I think it is?" Cal breathed her whispered question louder in the simi quiet of the rooftop hideaway as her other hand lifted to brush her fingers along the delicate pink-colored flower blossom she'd been gifted.

"I thought it fit." Juliette smiles as another wafted breath of peaches tickles Talia's nose. "and what's prom without a corsage anyways?"

"Humm." Cal hummed bringing the fragile flower to her nose for a deeper breath of the lingering scent it gave off. "You do know that now thanks to you I can't be around anything to do with peaches without thinking about…" Cal starts to say her tone equal parts accusing and teasing as she draws the shorter girl closer by her hips.

"Should I say I'm sorry for that?" Juliette cuts in already wrapping her arms back around Cal's waist in return.

"Are you?" Cal questions the shot of worry in her voice making her eavesdropping mother's heart ache to hear.

"Are you?" Juliette parrots

Both mothers feel the need to drop their gazes at the half groaned "I'm only sorry it took that long." as Cal's lips meet Juliette's in a sinfully tender kiss.

"Bees." Margot concludes in a low whisper of a breath whilst Talia Burns's eyes remain trained on the two still attempting to merge if they hold on tight enough to the other as they swayed to a dance rhythm all their own under the low glow of the overhead fairy lights.

"What?" Talia asked puzzled.

"The lights." Margot answers nodding towards one of the throws outlines of twinkling lights just reaching them from their shadowed corner beside the rooftop stairs. Sure, enough, the small dancing pinpoints flickering over the rooftop could be mistaken for a hazy shadow of a small swarm of flying bees.

"Weird." Talia shrugged

"Humm. Well, it seems this was a fool's errand after all." Margot concludes sparing the two in formal dress another pleased smile before turning her back on them with a probing "Would you be opposed to my walking you back to your car?" as she gestured back towards the stairwell door.

The Burns mother seemed about to put up more of a fight if not for the buzzing of her cell phone in her jacket pocket. "Huh seems I may need to tag along with you. Theo says your husband wants to go over security measures for the newest council meeting." She summarizes "Seems a few of the proposals the Guild offered last time are finally being put into practice."

"See, it seems we can cohabitate after all." Margot smiles earning a good-natured eye roll from Talia as the two start back down the stairs leaving the still-entwined couple to their dance.
