Goodbyes Are Hard, sort of.

Percy sighed as he walked around his cabin, straightening up everything that he was leaving behind. Near his bunk bed were two suitcases packed with most of his personal belongings that he'd be taking back to his mom's apartment.

The Minotaur horn sat on his nightstand as it had the summers before, it seemed to remind Percy that he'd be back.

Percy had already notified Mr. D that he was going home. He had one last year of high school left. He'd already asked Chiron to forge a transcript for him but of course his answer was no. Yet he wasn't too heartbroken about it, he was kind of looking forward to the change of pace.

It wasn't like this year would be boring either. Apparently, Annabeth had decided to finish up school with him. When he'd asked her about how she was going to move in, she let it slip that while he was gone, she'd sort of moved into his room at his mom's apartment. She didn't change much but she had stayed there for a while.

As hyped as Percy was about being able to be around Annabeth all year, he wasn't sure if his mom knew what she was doing by allowing him and Annabeth to be in the same room after dark. He'd never tested how soundproof the walls were in his room but he hoped they'd cover up mostly everything.

Percy felt the folded piece of paper in his right pocket. His class schedule sat dutifully in his pocket. The paper had come in the mail from his mom's address. Paul had pulled some strings and managed to get his schedule for him. Percy was less than impressed to find he had pre-calculus this year. He reckoned he had Athena to thank for that. If she couldn't kill him outright, then she'd just kill him using math.

Speaking of the gods, he was starting to get uncomfortable with how much they were watching him. He expected his dad to do that but then there were gods like Zeus and Athena, gods who hated his guts. Yet Zeus kept a close eye on him, probably so he could find a reason to execute him. Athena watched him probably so she could laugh at his struggles in school. He'd get back her though, he wondered how much she'd like watching him and Annabeth snuggle every night.

A knock at the door caused Percy to look over. Mostly everyone had left already, he wondered who could possibly be looking for him.

When he opened the door, he wasn't surprised at all to find Annabeth waiting for him. She was dressed to leave too. She had her backpack over her shoulder along with a suitcase next to her.

She smiled at him, "You ready to go, Seaweed Brain?"

"Yeah, I'm just cleaning everything up before we go." He said, nodding to the inside of his cabin.

Annabeth shrugged, "I guess I'll help."

Percy stepped back and let her in. She dragged her suitcase next to his and started working on tidying everything up, even going as far as to adjust his Minotaur horn. She'd even straightened out the wrinkles in his bed sheets.

"Jason and Piper left a few minutes ago." She said while organizing his closet.

"Yeah, Jason came by to say goodbye." Percy confirmed.

Jason and Piper were going back to California, apparently her dad was onboard with letting the son of Jupiter stay in his mansion with Piper. Percy had to admit, saying goodbye to Jason was much harder than he thought. The two had become close friends over the months. They weren't best friends by any means, Jason's best friend would ultimately be Leo while Percy's best friends were Annabeth and Grover. Yet that didn't stop Percy from being a little teary eyed when he'd left.

"What about Leo?" Percy asked, "Has he said anything about what he's planning to do?"

"He's going to stay here and do some homeschooling. He said it's safer that way but I have a feeling he's only doing it so he can spend the school year messing around in bunker nine." Annabeth scoffed.

"Let's hope camp is still here when we come back." Percy said.

"It better be," Annabeth said, "Or I'm killing him."

Percy chuckled, he didn't doubt her threat at all. She still loved camp, if Leo burned it down, well, let's just say Percy would not want to be in his shoes.

"Oh, and I got a call from Reyna." Annabeth said, "She and the Hunters are going to be in Central Park for a few weeks so if we want to drop by, we can."

"Yeah, just tell them not to shoot me in the ass again and we'll be fine." Percy grumbled.

He still had a bone to pick with the Hunters after not one but two of them had shot him in the ass during capture the flag. He could've chalked the first one up to being a accident but the second time all but confirmed they meant to do that. It hurt to walk for days after they'd done that to him. Annabeth found it hilarious but he swore the next time he saw them in a swimming pool, he was going to make them regret it.

"They're still not apologizing." Annabeth said, "Personally, I wouldn't either."

Percy scowled in her direction, he knew that already. She never apologized after slapping his ass during a call with Thalia. Thalia never let him live it down and constantly teased him about being the bottom in their relationship.

"Be careful, Percy, if you keep looking at me like that, I might think you're trying to fuck me." Annabeth warned, "And I don't think you want that."

Percy looked away, she was right, he'd rather not get into his mom's car smelling like sex. Not only would it be rude but also because he knew his mom would know. As far as Sally was concerned, he and Annabeth were still innocent little teenagers and he intended to keep it that way.

Another set of knocks came from the door.

"Who is it?" Percy called.

"It's Chiron!" Chiron said from the other side, "Your mom is here to pick you up."

"Alright, I'll be there in a minute!" Percy called before walking to his bunk and picking up his belongings.

"Well, we should get going then." Annabeth said as she handed him his suitcases, "You might want to wear your armor because I think your mom is going to break your ribs when she sees you."

Percy groaned internally, his mom was going to hug the life out of him. When he'd called her and told her that he'd fallen into Tartarus with Annabeth, she went ballistic and asked if he was okay at least a dozen times.

They stopped at the door of the cabin, turning to look at the inside one last time. Percy knew this wouldn't be the last time he'd be seeing this place but it would never feel the same. It seemed like yesterday he was still that awkward middle schooler who had no idea what was going on. Now he was a hero who'd fought two wars and lived. He'd made it.

His nostalgia was put on pause when Annabeth leaned in and kissed him, "We'll be back. We'll always be back."

A/N: And that's a wrap! I was going to end this story off with a smut scene but decided i'll take the wholesome approach. I hope you all enjoyed. I ran out of ideas so i figured this would be a good place to stop.
