This is a poem inspired by some conversations I had with a very good friend of mine.
Enjoy!

What is Love?

Shallow,
Are the feelings within.
I don't know what it
Is
That I feel,
Or know,
Or want,
Or love . . .

But, I do know
That I care about you,
That I like to be with you,
That you make me laugh,
That you make me smile.
From the deepest of caverns
To the tallest of towers
We fight side by side
And vanquish the evil
And bring the light

We run over meadows of old
And hills of new
To lay on the knoll of
Green grass
And watch the
Blue sky
And point at the
White clouds
Until the
Red sun
Sinks into the
Purple horizon
And the
Black night
Is upon us

On sandy beaches we walk,
Leaving impressions of memories
That fade away with the frothing sea.
Gulls sweep over us
And we laugh and pretend once again.
We pretend to fight the dragons
Of ancient lore.
We pretend that the trees
Are a twisting, tangled forest
Where spiders of mammoth size
Wish to kill us.
And, I, the knight
Will protect the one
That I care for,
But do not love.

I don't know these feelings,
As we grow older.
How could so much
Mix around in my heart
Now?
Do you feel this, too?
Are all teenagers like this?
I feel the confusion,
And the triphammer of my heart
With the sweat of nervousness
Just to not know.
But, I care.

I do know
That I care about you,
That I like to be with you,
That you make me laugh,
That you make me smile.
From the the lands within our minds
Where we fight evil
And vanquish the darkness
To restore order to all the world.
We fight side by side
And I struggle within.
I feel these emotions
And I don't know.
It bubbles, boils, breaks inside
Of me.

All I will ever know
Is that I love you

But what is love?

May the Love of Anuwëy guide you when all Hope is lost
