Well, here is a request. Wood Dog is a good friend of mine, and as such, he reads my Harbinger story. Within that story is my OC, Alexia. He asked of me to write a poem about her, and he sparked an idea within me to make a small series of poems for her. I will release them as we see more of her in Harbinger, so I may not spoil things.

So, warning ... Spoilers may be with in if you are not up to date with Harbinger.

Here you go, Mike, I hope you like it.

Internal I: Broken Waves on a Cold Shore

Crash
Crash
Crash

(daddy's little girl)

I feel the pain
The tears sting upon my flesh
And I hear their taunts
Their jeers
Like the screams of (!no daddy!)
The gulls, high in the cold
Gray sky …
Crack, the clam falls,
Twitching, it flies down their gullets
Like wind down the tunnel,
And the ocean continues to crash
Upon the sand of Maine,
White and grainy.
The pieces shift, loosely,
Like my mind,
And I hear (!DADDY!)
My pappy tell me he loves me …

(yeah right)
(hey look! it's daddy's little girl!)
(hey Alexia, heard you got raped)
(just like Philip, 'cept you got to live)
(yeah, he got stuffed with a prick and a knife)
(I wonder what flew down Philip's gullet?)

The voices … the outside world
(them)
They follow me around as I
Walk down the rocky crags
And the ocean crashescrashescrashes
Into the sand
Like a flame licking the air.
(licking)
(tasty)
And I shudder at the thought.
I feel my heart break
When I think about Philip
Or my Pappy,
Or even my (murdered—)
Dead father …
(—by me)
I can even remember his—
No.
(daddy … please don't)
And I grow.

The sky is cold and gray
And of course,
No one even knows I exist …
Except for maybe the gulls and
The clams flying down their gullets
Like wind flows through a tunnel.
A fire in my mind licks at possibility,
And my eyes follow the bend of the sand
And the crashcrashcrash of the murky waves.
Murky, muddled, mixed …
Like my mind.

The screams …
(she's such a freak)

The terror …
(I saw her move it without touching)

The fear …
(she doesn't even look normal)

The hate …
(I say we take her)

The pain …
(she's a freak, but she's hot)

The tears …
(take it, bitch … take it and swallow)

The horror …
(hey, let me at her … wait, what the fuck!?)

The realization …
(…)

The solitude …
(…)

The isolation …
(…)

The shattering …
( )

The gray sky, with the cold wind broke apart
And with it came the darkness.
Like tendrils of supremacy,
They wrapped around my life,
Everything I knew,
Everything I didn't know,
And it devoured.

The world dissolved into nothing.
The ocean no longer crashedcrashedcrashed.
The gulls flew no more.
The clams stopped twitching.
The taunts and jeers silenced.

A new life was thrust upon me,
And the horrors of my past …
They dwell within my mind …

May the love of Anuwëy guide you when all Hope is lost
