In a spinning blur of robes and limbs (thankfully no vomit as a tornado of it would make for a rather unpleasant voyage), Kingsley Shacklebolt, Septima Vector, and Aurora Sinistra arrived in front of MACUSA's headquarters in the USA via portkey, although they landed in a tangled heap.

''That was quite a ride,'' remarked Sinistra as the trio disentangled and straightened themselves, ''I wonder what this vortex thingy that the Unspeakables here created is.''

Unlike the British ministry's of magic old traditional brick buildings, MACUSA was the epitome of modernity. It was a tall, steel-gray, sleek skyscraper with lots of large windows, stretching upwards almost into the clouds. The trio looked at it in awe, then entered the reception area.

The American MACUSA president herself -Tammi Tran, a short woman with blonde highlights in her hair and wearing violet robes with a matching hat - awaited the trio, and the two heads of the respective magical communities greeted each other. All four of them took an elevator to the very top floor, where MACUSA's department of mysteries was located.

''Oh yay, here are our expected guests!'' exclaimed a man; with his appearance, it was hard to not notice him. He was a skinny, lanky man (towering above the others in the room) with a prominent Roman nose and wavy -almost frizzy- dark hair tied back in a ponytail cascading down his back. He wore a monocle, but most notable was his choice of outfit: instead of wearing robes, he wore a white lab coat with complex math equations doodled all over it and plain sweatpants and sneakers. He was holding an aged, worn notebook (no time for a break from doing math) with a pen stuck in its spiral.

''I am Dr. Ross Arrow, the chief arithmancer here at MACUSA,'' he said in an energetic voice, ''gotta keep on doing my math. No time to stop, mwahahahaha! Gotta show ya this black hole vortex. It is really cool and I did a lot of the math behind it.''
