After not talking to Will for a few months except about work, "Dorothy." He knocks on the door to her office to see her standing at her large window.
"Hello Will."
"Can you forgive me?"
"Will," she leans against the window. "You were wrong to speak to me like that and disrespecting my relationship with Graham. We broke up for a reason, and yes it was mostly my fault for not being able to trust you with certain aspects of my life."
"I am seeing someone."
"That's great! What's her name?"
"You know her."
"Is it Sam?"
"It is. She agreed to go out with me again if we went to counseling."
"That is a smart idea. I am happy for you." Will leaves the office while Ace gets her phone out.
"Hello Ace."
"Hello handsome."
"You are in a great mood."
"Looks like Will not be giving us problems anymore."
"He started dating someone?"
"Yes."
"I can't say I blame him for not wanting to give up on you."
"Graham."
"What you are brilliant."
"I love you too."
"I am looking forward to this weekend."
"Me too, is Ryan looking forward to having the flat to himself?"
"He is. Are you sure you are ok with a bigger place?"
"More than. I have a feeling we both will have people over from time to time."
"And whenever Yaz decides to stop traveling with the Doctor, she will need a place to stay."
"She will have a nice big bed and her own room."
"I am looking forward to picking up the keys."
"Me too," a large smile grows on her face. "As much as I want to continue talking to you.I probably should get going."
"I understand, see you tonight?"
"Maybe, don't you want to spend one of your last nights in the flat with Ryan?"
"He won't be home. Kate sent him on a mission of some sort."
"Then I will be there."
"I'll look forward to it, I love you."
"I love you too, goodbye."
"See you later."
When Ryan arrives home after midnight, he hears laughter coming from Graham's bedroom. 'I am glad they are getting their own place,' he thinks to himself, making as much noise as possible to alert the couple that they are not alone anymore.
"Graham stop, I think I hear something." They stop and listen and hear the stomps of Ryan. "We should be quiet now."
"I can do that, but can you," he whispers.
"I don't know, I have never tried." Graham lays his lips against Ace's, and she moans in pleasure.
Graham breaks this kiss, "shh honey," he starts to kiss her again, Ace withholds any sound this time.
The next morning, Ace and Graham are in the kitchen as Ryan walks in he sees them laughing. "Morning."
"Morning Ryan," Ace replies, "did you have a good sleep?"
"After the noise stopped," Ace and Graham blush. "Are you two looking forward to this weekend?"
In unison Ace and Graham reply, "yes."
"I am finally getting this place to myself."
Ace grabbing Graham's hand, "you will also always have a second place to sleep."
"I am fine, I won't need it, I love Sheffield."
"London isn't that bad, especially the little area we are moving to."
"Grandad, I understand that you and Ace moving into the area are for two reasons, A Charitable Earth and UNIT HQ. I am ok with doing thighs for Kate about once a month."
"We are doing things for Kate more frequently than that.''
"Exactly." They go on with their days. That weekend Ace and Graham pick up the keys to their new house. Neither knowing that Kate has disappeared yet again. Ryan helps them move in. "Wow this place is." Ryan looks around the large foyer looking up to see a chandelier when the AC unit kicks on.
"Your Grandad and I wanted a place where our friends and what we have of a family could stay for as long as they wanted, also a place we can have people over for holidays. Here let me take that to my office." Ace takes the box from Ryan as Graham comes up from behind him with a box in his hands.
"You like it?"
"You two wanted such a big place?"
"We did, we got it for cheap, it seems someone named John Smith left it in a trust for Liz Shaw, but when Liz Shaw said she didn't want it, they took out the paperwork and it didn't describe the real Liz Shaw it described a young Ace."
"A John Smith?"
"Yes, this John Smith."
"Graham, can you help me a bit?"
"Coming." Graham walks to Ace's office and sets his box down in a spare room on the way. "What did you need my help with Dear?"
"I can't get this door open," Ace is struggling with the closet door.
"Let's try and get it together." They work on the door together and get it open to find a black umbrella with a red question mark handle. When Ace laughs a big belly laugh Graham looks at her, "who is this from?"
"Our theory on who left us this place is true," she picks up the umbrella tossing it between her left and right hands. "The amount of times he would use this handle to direct me away from places I shouldn't have been and getting me out of trouble."
"So the Doc made sure we had a place."
"Maybe he knew the person who didn't have a family would make a big one."
Graham puts his arm around her, "you are making one."
Ace turns in his arms, "a big one. I have you and Ryan, Tegan and Nyssa."
"Don't forget Yaz."
"I'm not. Who knows maybe we will have even more of those who know the Doctor join this wacky blended family."
"I am sure we will."
"Oi," Ryan yells from downstairs, "I will not be moving the two of you in by myself."
"Let's go help out your Grandson." They head back out to grab some boxes when someone that only Ace recognizes appears from the side of the truck.
"Hello I am Mel."
"I know who you are, Donut." Ace says with a smile in her voice.
"Ace?"
"That's me." The curly redhead comes up to the woman she hasn't seen in years and brings her into a big hug. "Mel, I can't breathe."
"Sorry Ace."
"It's fine Mel, I would like you to meet two wonderful people." She grabs Graham's hand, "this is Graham my partner is the best sense, and this is his Grandson Ryan." The three that don't know each other shake hands, Graham goes back to holding Ace's hand. "She traveled with the Doctor right before I did."
"You know the Doc."
"I do, you and Ace both have nicknames for the Doctor."
"You know what they say about great minds," Graham jokes.
"You two do think a lot alike, I spend enough time with the two of you."
"Mel, we can talk later, I want Graham and I to get moved in before dark."
"You know that you will see a lot of me, we are neighbors after all."
Mel leaves, "we already have someone who is going to visit a lot."
"We do Graham, come one." They continue moving in the boxes, they decide to do the last of them over the next few days. Ryan stays in one of the spare bedrooms.
