Miami-Dade University Hospital

Pain shot through Emily as she woke and found herself in an intensive care surrounded by machines and she immediately felt her chest, "They took both your breasts and the bones," Tim spoke softly as he came into view wearing a gown over his clothes. "How are you feeling?"

"Tired and sore," Emily spoke softly as she offered her hand. "How is John's family doing?"

Tim sighed, "They're fine," he replied softly. "Did you really kill Edward Addison?"

"Yes, but as long as they are safe, it doesn't matter," Emily replied softly. "How long?"

Tim blinked, "A couple of days," he replied softly. "My parents and I have taken turns being here with you and also watching James and Julliet. I've explained it to all of them as best...?"

"Why hasn't Ryan come?" Emily asked in a groggy voice. "He's my big brother...what?"

Tim frowned, "Horatio said that Tommy Wolfe charged Ryan with shooting Sarah Wolfe and trying to kill her," he explained somberly. "Ryan's on house arrest and is currently suspended."

"What?" Emily asked in a groggy, upset voice, frowning at Ryan. "Why would Tommy do that?"

Tim shrugged and Emily winced as she reached for the pain button on her bed, "What else happened?" she asked softly, sighing as the medication took hold. "Who got hurt?"

"John Sullivan, as you know," Tim replied softly. "Sarah Wolfe also attacked Detective Caine's house and shot David because she mistook him for Ryan. David Sullivan-Boscorelli is in the hospital with collapsed lungs, broken ribs, and a healing shoulder because of the attack."

Emily frowned, "Danielle's probably wanting to go home," she spoke softly. "They should."

"You should rest, Emily," Tim spoke softly. "I'll talk to the Sullivan-Boscorelli family for you, okay? I promise."

Emily nodded and closed her eyes. Tim silently stroked her cheek and quietly left the room, as he had to respond to a phone call he had gotten that morning before coming to visit Emily.

Coconut Grove

Bobby sighed as he set the pane of glass into the window and began to secure it with a firm glue he had bought at a nearby hardware store. He was beyond frustrated at the fact his house had been attacked and an innocent nine year old boy was now recovering in the hospital.

Bosco and Danielle had chosen to stay at the house, but Bobby had told the kids that they were only to come upstairs when an adult was with them. As a result, Ellie, Adam, BJ, and John would remain in the lower levels of the house when Danielle and Bosco were at the hospital with David or doing other things. Sully, meanwhile, had been busy trying to help Ryan as he could.

"I brought you a sandwich in case you wanted to take a break," a voice spoke from behind.

Bobby sighed, "Thanks anyway, Sully, but I should finish this," he replied calmly. "I thought you and Aunt Yelina were going to take supplies to Ryan?" he asked in a concerned voice. "Why...?"

"Yelina had to go identify a body," Sully replied solemnly. "That of her ex-husband, Ray."

Frowning, Bobby turned around, "Uncle Ray?" he asked in a surprised voice. "He's dead?"

"He was involved in the shooting in the holding cells a couple of days ago," Sully stated.

Bobby nodded and went back to the window, "I didn't know Uncle Raymond well," he replied in a quieter voice. "I only knew things like he was an addict and John Hagen was his partner."

Sully nodded, "I'm going to be paying for your flights home whenever you all feel ready to go back to New York," Bobby continued softly. "Bosco and Danielle don't blame me for what happened to David, but I still feel responsible. I've already got a new alarm installed."

"Sarah Wolfe has been mentally ill for a long time," Sully explained softly. "It's not your fault."

Bobby silently finished installing the window and put the supplies back in a small toolbox before removing his gloves, "I'm thinking of going into counseling," he spoke softly. "I went to a group for abused spouses shortly after we came to Miami, but after this, maybe I need to talk to someone. I try and do stress relieving activities every day, but I still suffer from insomnia."

Before Sully could reply, Bobby picked up the toolkit, "I'm also thinking about going back to school for a forensics course," he commented as he and Sully walked down the hall and downstairs to the living room. "I'm not sure I'll stay on the PD side of things forever."

Suddenly, Bobby noticed that the door was open and not only were John's shoes gone, but the helmet to the bicycle he sometimes rode for exercise when he was off-duty was also gone, "What do you bet John stole my bike to visit David?" Bobby asked in a worried voice.

"John's supposed to take it easy," Sully replied irritably. "I think the chances are good."

Bobby nodded, "I'll call the hospital," he said in a concerned voice. "I can't believe it."

"I can," Sully replied as Bobby wandered into the kitchen. "John's blaming himself."

Miami-Dade Crime Lab

"Horatio, do you have a minute?" Calleigh called out as Horatio walked down the hallway towards the elevator where Marisol, who had come to visit him because she was stressed about what had happened to Emily. "I was just going over the guns used in the shootings."

Horatio stopped and wandered into the ballistics lab where Calleigh had taken all the guns used in the shootings, "I determined that the gun that fired on Sarah Wolfe was Ryan's and there are multiple witnesses to that," Calleigh explained in a worried voice. "The bullet Alexx pulled from Edward Addison, however, is different from the ones in Ryan's gun. It came from another gun."

Before Horatio could reply, Calleigh showed him a computer screen, "I ran the fingerprints on the gun that fired at Edward Addison," she explained softly. "It belongs to Emily Wolfe and Delko dusted it for prints, which were Emily's. She's the one who killed Edward Addison."

"She protected John Sullivan and his family," Horatio replied calmly. "How did she get a gun?"

There was a chuckle, "Do you think Victims Assistance doesn't arm the people who work for them?" Grissom asked as he walked into the room. "Emily was assigned to not only serve as John's counselor, but also as the family's protection. If you want to blame anyone, it's me."

"That's why you wanted Emily Wolfe there?" Horatio asked. "Because it was her assignment?"

Grissom nodded, "That, and she is very trusted by John Sullivan and his family," he stated.

"What about Ryan Wolfe?" Horatio asked sternly. "Did you ask him to shoot his mother?"

Grissom shook his head, "That's not my arena," he replied calmly. "I'm only here to arrange another interview between the Crime Lab and John Sullivan-Boscorelli for in New York."

"New York?" Horatio asked in a surprised voice. "David Sullivan will be in hospital for a week."

Grissom nodded and held up a folder, "Maurice and Danielle Boscorelli wrote a letter requesting that the next interview be held in New York where they can at least have protection and they include apologies for endangering Emily's life," he explained in a serious voice.

Calleigh sighed, "I don't blame them," she commented softly. "If it were my kids that got hurt..."

"My lab still has Edward Addison's body and we still have to settle the Monte Parker issue," Horatio replied in a stern voice. "We need the whole story about John killing Stewart Otis."

Grissom nodded, "And you'll get the story, but if you want to try and talk them out of going home, I believe they're both at the hospital with David," he replied in a calm voice. "However, before you go, we should really sit down and discuss how we're going to work this out."

Club Cruz

"Jenny, please, get me another drink," Tommy Wolfe said in an anxious, slightly slurred voice, raising his empty glass as Jenny, who had returned to work at Club Cruz because her father claimed her grandmother couldn't remember her not working there and needed routine, approached the table where her father was sitting with a plate of uneaten food. "Please."

Jenny nodded and took the empty glass, "How's Grandma?" she asked in a worried voice.

"High as a kite on her meds," Tommy replied sorrowfully. "She'll be in hospital a long time."

Jenny nodded and was about to get her father another drink when Clavo came out of the back with Tara Price, who was pushing Bernard in a wheelchair, at his heels, "A little early in the week for you to be drinking, isn't it Tommy?" Bernard asked in a stern, cautious voice.

"My mother's locked in a psych ward," Tommy slurred. "I charged Ryan for shooting her."

Bernard looked amused and Clavo sauntered over to the bar to get a look at the paper that Jenny always brought him, but frowned when he saw the front page, "Oh, man!" Clavo said in a shocked voice, his eyes wide as he picked up the paper. "Bernie, Edward was killed two days ago in a shootout at the Miami-Dade Crime Lab. It doesn't say how or why he was killed..."

"Eddie was always reckless," Bernard replied scathingly. "He was going to get himself killed."

Tommy sighed drunkenly, "Daddy, I think I'd better take you home," Jenny said softly.

"Go ahead, Jenny," Clavo replied calmly. "I brought Bernie here for a private meeting."

Jenny nodded and helped her father up from the table and as they left, Clavo looked at Bernard, who looked annoyed, "Ray Caine was also in the cells, wasn't he?" Bernard asked.

"Yeah," Clavo replied uncertainly. "Why do you want to know where Ray is?"

Bernard raised an eyebrow, "I just want to have a quiet, healthy meal," he replied sharply.

"I'll get it for you," Clavo replied in an anxious voice as Tara sat down beside Bernard.

"Timmy, what's up?" Tony asked softly as Tim came into the psych ward. "How are you?"

Relieved to see that Tony was taking his meds and appeared to be taking care of himself, Tim smiled and watched Tony tuck in his shirt before sitting at one of the tables, "I-I've been writing letters to that guy who's son I took," Tony spoke softly. "I know I did it and I can't remember..."

"Is that why you wanted to see me?" Tim asked, remembering that he had gotten a call from Tony shortly before he came to visit Emily. "Do you want to talk to Sergeant Stetler?"

Tony shook his head, "No, I don't think he'll talk to me and I wasn't myself when this happened," he replied in a nervous voice. "Can...can you just take the letters to him?"

"Yeah," Tim replied calmly, sighing as Tony got up and hurried off down the hallway.

A moment later, Tony came back with a folder filled with papers, "I don't know how long I'll be here, but I really don't want to go to jail whenever I'm released," he spoke softly. "Dad was maybe talking about letting me live in the apartment above the restaurant, but I know I can't live by myself. I won't remember to take my meds unless I'm under constant supervision."

"I'll give these to Sergeant Stetler," Tim replied, taking the folder. "You look tired, Tony."

Tony nodded and sighed heavily, "The meds help keep my head in order, but they also make me remember things and that keeps me awake at night," he explained shakily. "Ugh."

"I'll tell Dad to talk to your doctor about that," Tim promised. "How do you stay busy?"

Tony sighed, "I clean and I read," he replied shakily. "I sometimes get to use the hospital kitchen for cooking as long as I'm supervised. My therapist thinks it's good for me to learn social skills."

"You look as if you could use a nap, Tony," Tim observed softly. "Do you want to lie down?"

Tony blinked, "My blood sugar's a little low," he confessed softly. "Eating's often difficult and I keep flashing back to when I was on the street. I found myself saving food for later on..."

"Where are you hiding it in your room?" Tim asked in a concerned voice. "And for how long?"

Tony stood and motioned for Tim to follow, which he did. They went to a room that was at the end of the hallway and private. Tim stood in the doorway while Tony went over to the closet.

"Have you been assigned a therapist?" Tim asked as Tony opened the closet to reveal food.

Shaking his head, Tony shut the closet door and moved over to his bed, "I've been going to group, but the hospital's understaffed as far as individual counselors," he spoke quietly, sitting on his bed. "Maybe if I can get the sleep under control, I might be able to ask for a pass."

"For now, why don't you rest?" Tim suggested kindly. "I'll see about getting you some food."

Nodding, Tony silently laid down on the bed as Tim left to find some diabetic food.

Miami-Dade University Hospital

"John's on his way here?" Bosco asked into his cell-phone as he left the room where Danielle was sitting with David while he napped. "What do you mean he stole your bicycle?"

As Bosco listened to Bobby explain what happened, he walked down the hallway of the floor where David had been placed to recover and spotted John, who had his diabetes bag on his back with the helmet hanging from one of the clips, who was holding a large shopping bag filled with things he couldn't see, wander into the ICU corridor without saying a word.

"I just saw John come on to the floor, but he's not visiting David," Bosco commented softly.

Curious as to where John was going, Bosco remained on the phone as he followed John into the ICU and nodded at a passing nurse. John silently went into a room and Bosco quickly realized that Emily Wolfe was in the room and asleep, "Miss Wolfe?" John asked in a quiet voice.

There was silence and a cough, "John, hi," Emily's tired voice spoke. "How are you doing?"

"I haven't been able to thank you," John spoke shakily. "I know you shot Edward and I've been having to take it easy for the last couple of days. I heard my grandpa mention you were here."

Emily sighed softly and Bosco watched as John opened the bag, "I know you mentioned during our Skype calls that you have two little kids you're trying to provide for, so I bought some stuff for you and your kids as a thank you," John spoke softly. "Some shoes, books, and other stuff."

Looking mystified, Emily adjusted the bed so she was sitting up while John set the bag on the bed and took things out for her, "I'm sorry about your brother, John," Emily spoke softly.

"Are you going to be okay?" John asked softly as he set the last of the items on the bed.

Emily nodded, "Yes," she replied softly, ignoring the items. "These are such lovely things."

"I didn't know how else to thank you," John replied softly. "You saved my parents and I."

Deeply shaken by what he had seen and heard, Bosco moved back down the hallway and went into David's room, relieved that Danielle had fallen asleep at David's bedside. A few moments later, Bosco heard footsteps and looked calm when John entered David's hospital room.

"I came by to visit," John spoke softly, frowning as he saw the phone. "I forgot to tell Grandpa."

Bosco nodded, "Sully, he's here," he commented calmly. "You and Bobby can relax."

Swallowing hard, John watched as Bosco hung up the cell-phone and put it away, "You need to tell people where you're going while we're here," Bosco stated firmly. "Just remember that."

John nodded, "Your mother and I met with Grissom and we've asked for the next meeting about Doc to take place in New York after David's well enough to travel," Bosco explained.

"I bet Lieutenant Caine got mad at you," John spoke softly. "I just want to go home."

Bosco nodded, "You can stay til your grandpa and Detective Caine come," he replied calmly.

"I parked Detective Caine's bike in a janitor closet not too far from here," John commented.

Bosco nodded and John sat in a chair near the corner, "Check your sugar and make sure your little bike ride didn't mess with it," Bosco instructed in a fatherly voice. "I'll get some food."

Miami-Dade Crime Lab

"Yes, that's Raymond," Yelina spoke softly as she stared at the body on the coroner's table.

Alexx nodded and quickly covered up the head with the sheet that was covering the rest of the body, "I'll leave you two alone for a few minutes," she said in a reassuring voice. "Okay?"

Yelina nodded and Alexx left, "Ray, I want you to go upstairs and wait for Bobby and John Sullivan to come," Yelina spoke softly as she looked at Ray Jr. "Call me when they come."

Nodding, Ray Jr. walked over to the body reached out to pat his hand and the hand suddenly shot out and closed around Ray Jr. wrist, "That freak Sully is coming, huh?" Ray asked darkly as he suddenly sat up and glared at Yelina. "Did you at least wait until after we were divorced?"

Shellshocked, Yelina reached for her pocket, but Ray launched himself off the table and pushed her up against the glass wall, "And my dear nephew is also coming?" Ray asked coldly.

Yelina didn't reply, so Ray slapped her across the face and removed her gun from its holster before moving away with Ray Jr.'s arm in his grip, "If you think you're going to marry that doughnut brain from New York and let him adopt my son, you've got another thing coming," Ray growled, cocking the gun. "I'm taking our son and leaving you alone to die."

As Ray cocked the gun and fired at the glass window, Yelina dove to the floor and Ray dragged Ray Jr. out before she could stop him. Trembling anxiously, Yelina stumbled out of the morgue and pulled the nearest fire alarm just as Alexx, who had heard the shot, came running.

"Do you want me to come back for you and Aunt Yelina after I get John and my bike from the hospital?" Bobby asked in a kind voice as he pulled Sully's rental car up to the curb outside of the Crime Lab. "Or are you two going to spend time with Ray Junior today?"

Sully shrugged as he got out of the car, "I want to get to know both Yelina and Ray Junior better before we decide anything," he replied cheerfully. "We might go to a family fun centre..."

The doors suddenly burst open and Ray came out with an arm around Ray Jr. while holding a gun to the boy's head, "Uncle Ray?" Bobby asked in a shocked voice. "I thought you died?"

"You WILL die, Robert, if you don't drive my son and I where I tell you to," Ray hissed, waving the gun at Bobby as he glared at Sully. "You may share a bed with my wife, but you will NOT take my son away from me, you Manhattan piece of crap. Now, move it before I kill you."

Ray Jr. whimpered as Ray opened the back door and threw him into the car, "Sully, go inside," Bobby instructed Sully, desperate to stay calm for Ray Jr.'s sake. "Go inside and be quiet."

Sully, however, didn't move and Ray climbed into the front passenger seat and closed the door with one hand while the other pointed the gun at Bobby's head, "Drive," Ray ordered. "Now."

A desperate expression crossed Bobby's face as he hit the gas and the car careened out of the lot just as a crowd of Crime Lab personnel poured outside in response to the fire alarm.

"John Sullivan Senior, what brings you here?" Grissom asked, suddenly spotting Sully.

Sully frowned, "Ray's alive and he's got Ray Junior and Robert Caine as hostages in my rental car, that's what's up," he replied in a distressed voice. "Ray threatened to shoot me if I..."

"Excuse me?" Horatio asked in a concerned voice as he came through the crowd.

Sully sighed and frowned as he suddenly noticed Alexx and Calleigh helping a badly bruised and shaken Yelina out of the building, "Yelina," he said in an anxious voice as he hurried over to her.

"John," Yelina spoke in a shaky voice, fighting back tears. "Ray slapped me and slammed me..."

Calleigh gave Sully a look, "We need to process Yelina for evidence and get her to explain what happened," she explained in a concerned voice, seeing that Sully seemed very close to Yelina.

"I know Emily Wolfe is in the hospital, but she is a professional and can talk to Yelina in a way that she will be comfortable," Sully spoke up as Horatio and Grissom approached. "Yelina can be processed at the hospital while she talks to Emily. I wouldn't trust anyone else with Yelina."

Deeply shaken about the abduction of two of his nephews by the brother whom he thought was dead, Horatio nodded, "Since Ryan's not cleared to work in the field yet, I don't believe any harm would come of Miss Wolfe talking to Yelina," he replied shakily. "Alexx, can you...?"

"I believe Ryan can still do work for Victims Assistance even if he can't help you, Lieutenant Caine," Grissom spoke in a frank voice. "When Yelina is done at the hospital, I want her sent to the same place where Ryan Wolfe currently is. He can serve as her personal protection."

Horatio pursed his lips, but nodded, "Horatio, there's a mess downstairs because Ray shot out the glass in the morgue window," Alexx commented anxiously. "Don't forget to process it."

"Bobby was at the house with the kids, wasn't he?" Horatio asked worriedly. "Are they alone?"

Sully shook his head, "I called Bosco and Danielle and Danielle came back before we left, so she and John are with the kids," he replied. "John snuck to the hospital to visit people."

"Okay," Horatio replied as he got out his cell-phone. "I'll have to give them both a call then."

Miami-Dade University Hospital

Relieved that Tony had eaten and was now resting with their father there as company, Tim found himself at a vending machine deciding what he wanted to get himself to snack on before visiting Emily again. As he mulled over the choices, he heard an upset voice from down the hall.

"...I can't believe that happened," Bosco's voice came down the hall. "He's been through enough already and now this had to happen. At least Danielle's back with the kids..."

Recognizing Bosco's voice, Tim walked down the hallway and saw that Bosco was standing at the window in David's room while David watched a cartoon in bed, "Dad, it's one of those guys from the Crime Lab!" David said in a weak, but excited voice. "Maybe he can help!"

"How are you feeling, David?" Tim asked, having heard the information from his mother.

David shrugged, "Dad's on the phone and he's upset because his old partner got grabbed by a bad guy with a gun," he replied in a worried voice. "I'm just supposed to take it easy in bed."

"Detective Caine got taken hostage?" Tim asked in a concerned voice. "Who took him?"

Bosco sighed as he put a hand over the phone, "Some guy named Ray Caine that was dead for two days," he replied in a gruff voice. "Ray assaulted Detective Salas and took off with her son."

"Is BJ's great auntie gonna come here?" David asked softly. "If she was hurt, the hospital..."

Bosco nodded, "Could you go tell Emily?" he asked. "So she isn't taken by surprise?"

Tim nodded and silently made his way back down the hallway to Emily's room, not surprised to see that Emily was awake and on a laptop, "Emily, there's been an incident," he spoke softly.

"Another incident?" Emily asked in a concerned voice, gazing at him. "What happened?"

Tim sighed, "Ray Caine faked his death and after he beat Detective Salas up, he kidnapped her son and took Detective Caine hostage to get away," he explained. "Officer Boscorelli told me while his wife told him over the phone. John Sullivan Senior witnessed it and phoned Danielle."

Emily frowned, "John Sullivan Senior recommended that you could talk to Detective Salas and so she'll bring her over to your room so you two can talk," Tim explained. "If you're up for it."

"Your mother brought some of my clothes by the other day so I could have something to wear besides this gown if I felt like it," Emily replied, gesturing to a bag that was in a nearby chair. "If you bring me the bag, I can change and be professional for when Detective Salas gets here."

Tim quickly got the bag and drew the curtain around the bed so that Emily would have privacy.

"Mom, I feel selfish," John spoke as he watched his mother return the phone to the cradle on the kitchen counter in LaRusso's kitchen. "I was wanting to go home and then Detective Caine got kidnapped..."

Danielle sighed softly and shook her head, "You're not selfish for wanting to go home once David's well," she replied softly. "With Maurice's former partner now missing, though, I think we need to stay and be here for Detective Caine's children. I know it may take a long time..."

"Mrs. Boscorelli, where's my dad?" BJ asked softly as he came into the kitchen. "He was gonna go get Auntie Yelina and then he was gonna come back and we were gonna go to the beach."

Danielle frowned, "BJ, where are Adam and Ellie at?" she asked softly. "We need to talk."

BJ quickly gathered Adam and Ellie from downstairs and they all sat on the furniture in the living room, "BJ, Adam, your dad was at the police department to pick up Detective Salas when a bad man came out of the precinct with a gun to his son's head," Danielle explained in a concerned voice, knowing she needed to be brave for the kids. "The man shoved his son into the rental car my dad got for while he was here and forced Detective Caine to drive for him."

"Is my dad dead?" Adam asked in a worried voice, his eyes wide. "Like my mommy died?"

Danielle shook her head, "Not as far as we know and I think all of the Miami police will be looking for him," she replied in a gentle voice as Ellie snuggled up against her. "Maurice is at the hospital with David, so I'll be staying here with all of you. We'll try and do something fun."

"Can we play Monopoly Junior?" Adam asked in a quiet voice. "It's the only game I understand."

Danielle nodded, "John can set up the game while I make everyone some lunch and we'll eat while we play," she replied in a calm voice, determined to keep the kids on a schedule.

Club Cruz

A loud voice filtered into the party room where Bernard had chosen to rest under Tara's orders after eating specially prepared food that Clavo had made, "What on earth is going on out there?" Bernard asked in an irritated voice as he slowly got out of bed and into his wheelchair.

After grabbing a gun off the nightstand that Clavo had left him for protection, Bernard wheeled out into the main area and was shocked to see Ray Caine standing there with an arm around a boy's neck while another man lay on the floor, "Ray Caine," Bernard said in a grouchy voice.

"I want a jet to Brazil," Ray hissed. "Some Manhattan donut grubber is stealing my wife away and I took my son so he couldn't adopt him away. I know you have money and power."

Bernard raised an eyebrow, "Who's the guy on the floor?" he asked in a confused voice.

"My dear nephew, Detective Robert Caine of the Miami-Dade Police Department's Homicide Division," Ray sneered crudely. "He drove us over here, but he can't come to Brazil with us."

Bernard looked amused, "Are you hoping to make a trade for Lindsay Willows-Stetler?" he asked in an amused voice. "Memmo's the one you need to talk to about Lindsay."

"Memmo's in Brazil and you own Brazil," Ray scoffed. "You must have a way for me..."

Bernard sighed, eyeing the gun that Ray held as he pulled out his cell-phone, "If you get to the far end of the Everglades just outside of the swamps near the county line, I can have a jet meet you there that will get you out of the U.S.," he spoke in a weak voice. "Have Caine drive you."

"Think of Yelina," Bobby spoke anxiously. "Do you really hate her that much, Ray?"

Swearing, Ray kicked Bobby hard in the chest and in the side before pointing the gun at him, "I AM thinking of Yelina and if she's so happy with Sullivan, she doesn't need the brat!" he roared, scoffing as he delivered more kicks to Bobby's body. "If you don't drive me, I'll kill both of you."

"Okay, I'll drive you," Bobby groaned as he pulled himself off the floor. "Where are we going?"

Ray looked at Bernard, "The part of the Everglades near the county line and it's easy to find if you take the back road from this parking lot," Bernard spoke shakily. "I'll call while you drive."

As Ray left with Bobby and Ray Jr. in tow, Bernard swore and trying to keep himself calm so that he wouldn't have an anxiety attack, he wheeled himself back to his room and locked the door.

Miami-Dade University Hospital

"...It seems the news has gotten wind of it already," Emily commented softly, frowning at the TV as she sat down in her wheelchair near the couch. "Has Ryan been informed of this?"

Tim nodded, "I called Stetler, since he's the one who knows the location of Ryan's house arrest," he replied in a concerned voice as he watched Emily straighten her button-up blouse and pants before relaxing on the pillow that was behind the wheelchair. "Are you okay?"

"I'm fine," Emily replied, sighing as Alexx and Yelina walked in with Detective Trip at their heels.

Frank sighed, "Detective Salas has been processed," he explained. "Where do you need me?"

"Go down the hall and sit with Maurice Boscorelli and David," Emily instructed softly. "Please."

Frank nodded and silently left the room while Alexx sat in a corner chair, "Would you like to sit on the couch, Detective Salas?" Emily asked softly. "I think you'll be more comfortable there."

Nodding, Yelina sat on the couch close to Emily and Tim sat on the bed, "Ray Junior and I were identifying Raymond's body and then we were going to go to one of those family fun centres with John Sullivan Senior so he and Ray could bond," she explained softly. "Ray Junior was saying goodbye when Ray suddenly woke up and grabbed him. After assaulting me, stealing my gun, and shooting out the window, Raymond left with Ray Junior and I was left alone..."

Overcome with emotion, Yelina wiped a tear from her eye, "I'm sorry," she whispered.

"It's okay," Emily replied softly. "Can you tell me if Ray has been abusive to you before now?"

Yelina nodded and swallowed hard, "When he was working undercover for Narcotics, he would come home high and abuse me for any little thing," she replied softly. "That's why we divorced and I took custody of Ray Junior. Shortly after we divorced, I heard that Raymond had died."

"I understand how difficult it can be to suffer in an abusive marriage, but let me tell you what a police officer told me after I escaped my first marriage," Emily spoke softly, remembering when LAPD Officer Jesse Cardoza had helped her escape. "You are a strong woman who has endured much and even though the past can't go away, you can make the most of a new tomorrow."

"Who told you that?" Yelina asked in a shaken voice, feeling comforted by Emily's words.

Emily sighed, "An officer from the LAPD named Jesse Cardoza who helped me escape to Miami so I could find Ryan after the divorce from Bernard," she explained in a soft voice. "Not long after I moved to Miami, I heard that Bernard had gotten Jesse's wife, Donna, killed to retaliate. I knew that if I lived in fear forever, the sacrifices made to get me to safety would be in vain."

Strangely comforted by Emily's words, Yelina nodded and continued to recall her time with Ray, as she wanted to help in any way that she could.

Miami-Dade Downtown Condos

Ryan sighed heavily as he turned off the stove and poured the pasta from the pot into the strainer that was part of the furnishings and supplies provided in the apartment. He was allowed visitors and was also allowed to communicate via phone and internet, but he was limited to the property until the department cleared him or Tommy dropped the charges.

As Ryan watched the pasta drain, he heard the door open, "Ryan, I brought you some supplies and also some news," Rick spoke in a concerned voice as Ryan turned to face him. "Detective Caine was taken hostage at the MDPD by Ray Caine, who also has Raymond Caine Junior in his custody. There were violent circumstances involved and you've been given an assignment."

"I don't believe Tommy dropped the charges," Ryan replied softly. "I'm not allowed to work..."

Rick sighed, "Gil Grissom from Victims Assistance is assigning you to guard Detective Salas for the time being," he explained in a concerned voice. "There are multiple bedrooms at this condo, so you'll each have privacy. MDPD is also sending a guard over to Detective Caine's."

"When is Detective Salas coming?" Ryan asked nervously. "Why would Grissom ask me to...?"

Rick sighed as Lenny came into the house with a suitcase, "Lenny will be here to keep you both company and he's not allowed to leave by himself," he explained. "I'll also be here when I'm not on duty because I worry that Ray might show up at my house at an odd hour and hurt us."

Ryan nodded and Rick sighed again, "Detective Salas was assaulted by Ray and after she's done talking to Emily at the hospital about the incident, Doctor Woods will bring her here," Stetler explained, unable to help smiling as Lenny made himself comfortable on the couch. "Okay?"

"Will you come back later, Dad?" Lenny asked softly, seeing that his father was about to leave

Rick nodded, "I'll be helping in the search for Detective Caine during the day and then come here after work," he replied calmly. "When I'm not here, Yelina and Ryan will look after you.

Lenny nodded and as Rick gave him a quick hug and hurried off, he silently looked at Ryan. Both of them were unsure what to say to each other.
