Kei was sitting at his desk the next day, staring unamused at his piping hot coffee. This Oikawa character had been contacted yesterday about his stalker case and, honestly, Kei was pretty stressed out about being the center of a case. He lives for the quiet and unassuming kind of life, and in an hour or so Daichi was gonna hold a meeting that would put his lifestyle in danger.

Oikawa informed them that it was necessary to inform all of the police officers of Kei's situation so they could keep an eye out for any suspicious persons. They had a couple of hyperactive officers at the Karasuno station, so Kei wanted to enjoy his last hour of peace. He looked at his screen again, he was currently looking at the jewelry thief video, which he had reviewed several times at this point. This was also an FBI case, but they had not picked up the video for evidence. Normally it would have been mailed to them, but they insisted Kei review it. It wasn't something he would brag about, but Kei was exceptionally well respected in the computer forensics world. He had worked on a few cases for them in the past, so he wasn't surprised when they asked him to work the case.

The video was the only one they had managed to get of the thieves even though they had been active for several years. The thieves, five of them, walked by with their ill-gotten goods and then walked off the screen. However, Kei noticed a slight movement in the eye of the shortest member. He was able to zoom in on the movement, at the cost of the video quality, but he became absolutely certain that the thief looked directly at the camera. Kei believed that the camera was not hacked on purpose. The Nekoma Cat Burglars, what the media had lovingly named them, never left a camera turned on.

In fact, it was believed they had a terribly efficient hacker on their team. Kei deduced that the shortest of the thieves was probably the hacker in the group, him looking at the camera certainly gave that impression. He pulled up his report and gave his impressions of the video and included clips from what he mentioned. He didn't expect to gain much of anything from the video, probably only what the thieves wanted to be seen.

Kei finally took a sip of his coffee which had cooled enough for him to enjoy. He glanced at his wristwatch and clicked his tongue in irritation. He slowly stood up just as his supervisor Asumane came out of his office. The older man smiled awkwardly at Kei and placed his empty coffee cup near the coffee pot. "We've been invited to this officer meeting, how odd. I wonder what they are gonna talk about." Of course, Kei already knew, but he dare not open his mouth about it. 'Like hell, I am gonna talk about being stalked. Not to mention it's a well-known stalker.' "Hn." He voted on not answering at all. Azumane scratched the back of his head nervously but went to the door and held it open for Kei anyway.

The two of them proceeded towards the elevator and then made their way to the biggest room in the station, used specifically for these types of meetings. There were already quite a handful of officers sitting in the room. Some of them gave a weird look towards the forensics team, not used to having them a part of the meetings, while others were too busy on their phones or talking to notice them. Yamaguchi immediately noticed Kei and slipped past the other officers to approach them. "Kei! I didn't know you would be at this meeting! It must be something important for the two of you to be needed. I wonder if it has to do with the Nekoma Cat Burglars?" "Hn… I doubt it." Kei knew Yamaguchi wanted to be assigned to that case quite badly, so he dare not get his hopes up by playing dumb with him.

It wasn't long after he entered that Keishin Ukai walked in, followed by Daichi and Sugawara. Seeing Ukai, the Police Chief, made Kei's blood run cold. Ukai being here somehow made the whole ordeal all that much more real. The room quieted when he cleared his throat, and he didn't hesitate to begin the meeting. "It has come to my attention that a serial killer has entered our district. The perp has a solid M.O. so the FBI is positive that they have indeed selected their next target. The media is referring to this killer as the Polaroid Killer." There were some audible gasps and whispering, clearly the case was not unknown here.

"For those unfamiliar with the case I have prepared a slideshow to inform you of the situation. Pay close attention. Firstly, the killer will stalk his victims and leave them an envelope with a single Polaroid photo inside. The photo has changed each time, but it will always have writing on the back in red ink or any other substance. However, the color is always red. Secondly, the number of photos corresponds with the murders. The first victim received one photo, the second victim received two, and the pattern continues. If our information is accurate, our current stalking victim will receive seven photos before the killer strikes." Once again the room filled with rumors before someone in the back raised their hang. "Yes, Kinoshita?" "You said that the Polaroid Killer is here in Karasuno, does that mean we have a stalking victim who has received a number of these photos?"

Ukai looked uncomfortably toward Kei, but Kei refused to meet his eyes. "I was going to save this for last, but it is best you know. The perp targets a specific type of person. The type of person they chose will have blonde hair and will be working in the computer forensic field." He didn't need to finish he thought because all eyes in the room had fallen on Kei. Kei clicked his tongue and looked toward Daichi, perhaps for a small bit of comfort. "That is correct, our very own Kei Tsukishima is the target. He has just received his fifth envelope, so we do not have much time to catch this bastard. Our comrade's life is on the line, I expect every single officer to take this case seriously and look out for our own."

Kei had spent the rest of his work day in the chief's office being told about any and every precaution he could take for his own personal safety. They then decided that he would not be allowed to stay in his own home for his own safety. Daichi, unsurprisingly, volunteered his own home for Kei to reside in for the time being. He would have an officer by his side at all times, starting immediately. All this was really draining on his energy. The first officer that would be assigned to him was Kinoshita. He wasn't really close to Kinoshita, but that really didn't matter to him since he didn't plan on interacting with him too much.

Since he was considered safe in the station, he wouldn't need a guard while at work. Suddenly, work seemed like his safe haven. It wasn't long till the work day was over, however, and he was driving home followed by Daichi and Kinoshita in their own vehicles. Once there, Daichi stayed by his side while Kinoshita went into his home and looked for anything suspicious. Much to their relief, there was no new envelope, not that Kei expected one so soon after the last one. They usually arrived a week or two apart.

Daichi accompanied him into his room as he grabbed his go bag and filled it with at least four pairs of work clothes and night clothes. He didn't look at Daichi much, since he was still upset with the man, even though it turned out to be a good thing. He was also mad that he wouldn't have the comfort of his own home, not to mention it felt like he was moving in with Daichi like the older man had wanted. Still, he had packed like he was supposed to, and soon they were all in their cars, after an inspection, the three made their way to Daichi's home. Once Kinoshita was sure Kei was safely in Daichi's care he left with the promise of picking up the tall blonde tomorrow for work.

"Fuck, shit, fuck." Kei threw a small temper tantrum in Daichi's kitchen as he went about making the two of them some tea. "Kei, can I talk to you?" Daichi sounded apprehensive since his lover seemed to be peeved at him. "Why not? You seem to be good at talking to people." Kei spits out at him. The atmosphere wasn't very good, but Daichi continued anyway. "I'm sorry that I told Sugawara about your stalking, but I was truly worried about what would happen to you had I left it alone. Who knows what that sick fuck would do on any given day. We have no way of knowing that it wouldn't escalate. I hope you can forgive me."

Kei continued working on the tea, preparing the cups and such, uncomfortable with being able to say something back to Daichi. "I'm… I'm not all that mad. I would have been had it turned out to not be as serious. I obviously do not want to die or whatever else that sick fuck would do to me. Fuck it… I'm pretty scared Daichi, and I don't know how to process that emotion." His hand shook as he handed Daichi his cup of tea. Seeing that the older man took both cups carefully and placed them on the counter. He then embraced Kei and held him tightly, it took a moment but eventually Kei reciprocated the action. "I'll protect you, I promise."

The two spent a quiet night watching Kei's favorite the Jurassic Park series. When they went to bed Daichi made sure to hold Kei tight so that he felt as safe as possible. However, they were not entirely alone, for the stalker waited outside. They knew of their fated person's indecency with that… man. It infuriated them that their fated person was hiding from them. They felt the need to act, to show them that they were displeased. Yes… the next photo should do the trick, it would be early but it was necessary for their love.
