I watched as an explosion took them from me. I felt so...useless. For the major part of my sinful life I was the one in control. To have that control taken away from me was certainly an experience. Not a very pleasant one, but still.
The wreckage of the car fell to the ground as my men rushed to get me to the safety of my own armored transport. And to think I just wanted to drink a cup of coffee in public. Well, I guess this is what happens when you're the most notorious crime lord in the capital of a major country.
As the stacked guards dragged my limp body into the car, I stared into the void, my mind already wandering as to what I could have done better. How could I have avoided such a fate for the only people who actually mattered to me?
Suddenly, everything stopped. The buildings outside the window, the sirens of the police cars providing us an escort...I heard nothing.
"So, does it hurt?"
My lifeless eyes snapped to the person sitting across from me in the limousine. Unfortunately, I couldn't see much. The face, the body shape, what the person was wearing, his voice... it all seemed to be blurred. All I could get was a sensation that he was male and that he was azure...whatever that meant.
"You know, you have made many men feel exactly like this."
It wasn't a question, not really. He delivered it in such a monotone that I had to do a double take. Now that I looked at him, he did seem to have some kind of an aura around him.
"Are you suppose to be some kind of an avenging angel?"
To that he answered with an amused chuckle.
"No, not really. Quite the opposite in fact. I want to make a deal."
...
"I am listening."
