Chapter 21:
Welcome Home To Everyone
The next day, on a grassy meadow, dragonflies were flying around near the cave and birds were chirping. Half-Light was pacing back and forth in concern for Aladar while her friends watched her pace in worry. She was starting to make a hole in the ground from her pacing. Then a familiar sound was heard as Half-Light tuned to the cave entrance and saw something that made her smile in relief. And she would be lying to say that it wasn't in a little bit of pride.
Appearing from the darkness of the cave was Aladar and Neera and soon the whole herd appeared. They all stepped into the sunlight as the herd saw the nesting grounds with amazement and astonishment. Half-Light approaches Aladar and nuzzled him, feeling very proud and relief that her adopted younger brother is alright, while two Tricornatops and an Edmontopony grunted and a few Ornithohippomimus squawked.
"Welcome Home…," Aladar announced with a smile.
"...To Everyone," Half-Light added also with a smile.
Soon an Edmontopony bellows out happily and heads off as the Ornithohippomimus chatter. Soon the whole herd started rushing out of the cave and entered the valley as bellowing was heard amongst them.
A few months later, a clutch of a dozen eggs rest within a nest with one egg resting in the center. Then a shadow appeared as a familiar snout lowers down to the egg in the center and gently nudges it as it lifts up. It was a mirror to the beginning of the story. The head lifts up to reveal Aladar as he smiled and turned to Neera, and the scar on his chest has healed.
"Move over, everybody. Bringing in babies is what I do best," Eema said, joining everybody.
"I'd say it's been a few years since you've hatched an egg, Eema," Cinnamon said as she and Eema laughed.
"You're right. So let me practice on your head, Cinnamon," Eema joked as Cinnamon had a bewildered look on her face. But it was all in good humor.
"Look. It's happening. Looks like somebody wants to meet us," Frolic Timid beamed with joy, seeing the egg in the center starting to stir, showing signs of life, as part of the eggshell cracked.
Frolic Timid gently peels back the broken pieces and smiled, "Ooooh. Aren't the sweetest little cute thing I have ever seen?".
"Hey, little guy. He looks just like me," Aladar said as Frolic Timid moved aside to allow him to see.
"Meet your Dad. He's not as crazy as he looks," Neera chuckled as Aladar made a funny look.
"More or less," Half-Light chuckled.
The baby Kritopony cooed as he squirms in his egg trying to get free.
"Oooh, oh, happy day," Eema said with a smile. It was adorable watching the infant trying to come out of it's shell
"Well, done little one," Baylene said.
"Welcome to the world and our family," Evan said.
"Come here you little squirt. Let Auntie Sky Color get a good look at you," Sky Color said, lifting the hatchling out of its egg.
But then Sky Color's smile faded as the baby sneezed on her again. But everypony else was reminded of Aladar as an infant. And it made them smile.
"Oooh, bless you, deary," Rareness said to the baby.
"Eeyup. You're your father's son alright," Sky Color said with a dry look like when she first met Aladar. And she couldn't help thinking back to that faraway day when she first met Aladar.
The Crusaders giggled as Sky Color handed the baby to Half-Light. And Half-light felt so much pride holding the baby.
"Hey! Look what I found! New Neighbors!" Sweet-Tooth called out as the others turned to see Sweet Tooth with an Eohippus Stallion of her own as a few Dinoponies turned to them.
"Say are you by chance up for a game of, uh, "Pop Goes The Pony"?" The Stallion asked, turning to Sweet Tooth.
Sweet Tooth giggled and hugged her special stallion.
"Whoa, easy now! Easy! Hey! Whoo!" The Eohippus Stallion laughed.
The others couldn't help but laugh as well. Then Aladar bellows out as he bellows loudly and Half-Light, her friends, and the Chiefs began to whinny. The infant Kritoponies bellowed out as well and joined in as Eema bellowed out too. And Baylene and Evan joined in and bellowed out loudly.
Aladar continues bellowing out as Neera bellowed out as well and Url appeared with a rock in his mouth until he placed it down and joins in.
Close by, three newly hatched Edmontoponies squirmed in their broken eggshells as their mother stood over them.
At another nest near them, three newly hatched Toroponies squirm from their eggs as their mother stood by.
The mother Edmontopony bellows out as Prehistoric Hippogriffs called out and flew by as the mother Toropony bellows out.
The two Dinoponies continued to bellow out as a group of young Dinoponies rushed by, and the future was definitely brighter…
