A/N: Hey guys, sorry, it's been another long minute! I gotta be honest that life's a lot busy, and also with all the divergence (and the fact that season 3 was kinda the beginning of the end, too) has my muse a bit short on ideas. I hope you enjoy this one nonetheless!

Tori was happily engaging in a chat with the HA6+ group via text as she moseyed down to breakfast.

Her mom was digging into a full omelet, moaning obnoxiously at how good it was. "Hey, Tori, want an omelet?"

"Sure," Tori said with a smile.

"Stove is over there," her mom said, pointing to the stove, which had an array of ingredients beside it.

"Oh… kay…" she murmured before grabbing a fresh pan and making her own omelet.

Trina came down the stairs in her pajamas a moment later. "Ooh, omelet!"

"You want one?" Tori asked, sitting down with her omelet across from her mother.

"Sure!" Trina said excitedly.

"Stove's over there," Tori and their mom chorused.

Trina pouted and ended up eating a bowl of cereal for breakfast.

Tori rode with Trina to school, as usual, but due to a movie shoot up the street from them, the detour took an additional forty-five minutes.

Instead of arriving early, the Vega sisters arrived with two minutes to spare.

Tori burst through the door to English class, sweating profusely. Of HA6+, only Beck was in this class.

"What happened to you?" asked Beck from his seat at the back of the room.

"Trina trying to do hot yoga while driving to school," Tori said.

The class couldn't tell if she was being literal or sarcastic.

"Don't you live like five minutes away?" Beck asked.

"Except when there's a film shoot blocking the main road to school. The detour's almost an hour," Tori said, "and that much time with Trina is insane."

"I could give you a ride tomorrow," Beck offered.

"Do I want Jade to murder me in my sleep?" Tori replied.

Beck snorted and held up his hands in surrender. "Feel free to change your mind."

Tori stuck her tongue out at Beck.

"Real mature," Beck commented.

At lunch, after a shower in the gym, Tori sat down with Cat and Robbie, grumbling about her sauna ride.

Trina came to join them. "You know, if you were the one driving, I'd let you control the AC."

"Why not get a license?" Robbie asked. "You know, like a normal teenager girl."

Tori's eyes narrowed at Robbie.

Robbie raised both hands. "Don't shoot."

Cat laughed. "Well, if you don't want to get a license, you can just do what my brother does."

"Which is..?" Tori asked skeptically.

"Drive anyway!" Cat answered.

Jade came by and dropped her bag down on the seat. "Who's driving where?" she asked.

"Tori's gonna drive without a license!" Cat told Jade.

Tori facepalmed. "No, Cat, I'm not."

"So you're gonna get a license like a normal teenage girl?" Cat asked.

Jade bit her lip against a smirk at Tori's uncomfortable face. "Why the face, Vega? What's wrong with getting a license like a normal person?"

Tori just sighed and didn't respond.

"I don't get why it's such a big deal," Tori griped.

"You not having a license?" André asked. He was giving her a ride home.

"Yeah! I mean, I just didn't appreciate having to sweat buckets with Trina!" Tori said indignantly.

"Well, getting a driver's license would solve a lot of the problem," André said as neutrally as he could.

"Oh yeah? And does getting a driver's license get me a car on my dad's cop salary?" Tori asked.

André opened his mouth to retort but thought better of it, as he pulled up in the driveway of Tori's house.

Tori sighed. "At least Beck's first response was to offer me a ride, not lecture me about getting a license."

André was taken aback when Tori lashed out. "Well, then maybe Beck should have been the one driving you then and not me." He unlocked the door.

Tori fumed as she got off the car without even a thank you.

The next day, Tori left home early, preferring to take the bus rather than sit through another sauna ride with Trina.

"You're here early!" Cat cheered, seeing Tori at the Asphalt Café so early in the morning. She was hugging a box of C batteries. "Battery?"

"What's with all the C batteries?" Tori asked.

"Oh, I found this really cool app that lets you buy stuff at huge discounts. I got this whole box at 80% off!" Cat explained. "I only paid 20% for it."

Tori took the offered pack of batteries hesitantly. "But what do you need a case of batteries for?"

"Oh, I don't," Cat said. She took out her phone and started scrolling through more deals, as Jade came over to them.

"Cat…" Jade said, a cautious warning in her tone, as she spotted the batteries.

"She's on a shopping spree again," Tori said.

Jade huffed and took Cat's phone. "Okay, cutting you off."

"No!" Cat whined. "I just found a party bus for 12 dollars!"

Jade sighed and shoved Cat's phone in her bag. "You can get it back later."

"That's so mean," Cat continued to whine.

Jade turned to Tori. "Vega, we're going to the DMV later."

"What for?" Tori asked.

"Getting you a learner's permit, duh," Jade said.

"I don't need one, I'm just gonna take the bus," Tori said.

"You're gonna learn, whichever one of our cars you end up using is up to you, but you're going to learn," Jade said.

"But why do I have to?" Tori asked, whining like Cat.

Jade rolled her eyes. "You'll thank me for it someday. Maybe."

School let out earlier, so Beck convoyed Jade, Tori and Cat to the nearest DMV office before they closed for the day.

"Does everything really have to be so slow?" Tori grumbled.

"Chill, they're actually moving a lot faster than I expected," Beck said.

"Why are you so anxious about driving anyway?" Cat asked.

Tori went quiet, focusing instead on the queuing screening, waiting for her turn.

"You can tell us, you know," Cat said.

"I just don't know that I can handle driving a car," Tori admitted. "I'm scared to lose control and hurt someone or wreck something."

"Or die trying," Jade deadpanned.

"Yeah, that," Tori agreed.

Beck scoffed. "We all feel that way, Tori, or we did when we started, but it's just something we all have to go through."

"How come Cat isn't going through it?" Tori asked.

Cat froze in the middle of trying to steal her phone away from Jade's bag.

"Are you seriously asking that question?" Jade asked, eyebrow arching.

"Point taken," Tori said.

Cat pouted. "I can totally drive."

"We know you can, Cat," Beck said to placate her. "We just think you probably don't need a license to be on the road right now."

"That said, we really think you should learn, whether or not you get a car and start driving all the time," Jade added.

After their trip to the DMV, Jade dropped Tori off at home while Beck took Cat home. The pair met at Beck's trailer.

"So, tell me why the hell you needed me to strong-arm Tori into getting her learner's permit?" Jade asked, flopping down on Beck's couch.

"She and André had a fight yesterday," Beck told her.

"And this affects me how?" Jade asked.

"It doesn't," Beck laughed. "André came at me swinging last night, something about me offering to drive Tori rather than lecturing her about having to learn how to drive, which he apparently had. I figured it would be in everyone's best interest if someone other than André did the convincing." He sat beside her and pulled her close.

Jade snorted, as he nuzzled her hair. "Boys."

"Hey," Beck complained.

Jade ran her fingers down his smooth jaw. "They're not gonna make it, are they?" she asked.

Beck shrugged. "I can't say." He kissed her cheek. "I just know we are."

Jade hummed. "So sure of that, are you?"

Beck kissed her temple, as she settled against him on the couch. "I just know no fight is worth losing you over." His arms wound around her tight.
