If you want to know what the Doom Slayer sounds like refer to this video watch?v=8jPPHxAYWwQ and his unused voice lines.

Lakyus was uttering to herself not aware of her friends around her. She was saying things about a powerful warrior capable of eviscerating entities that can destroy entire worlds. A bane of a world brimming with evil and malice. His eternal war that lasted for eons with the forces that wronged him by taking the things he cared about most, and his determination to see them all dead. Every battle he's fought, every enemy he's killed, he has only gotten stronger and the endless forces that wanted him dead feared him just by a mere mention of his name. The others were listening to her ramblings trying to make sense of it all. They listened to her and looked at the stone coffin, then all the pieces were clicking together.

[Gazef] "How could someone like this fly under our noses for so long..." he said with bewilderment. "An eternal war with forces of great evil. But if I heard correctly he fought that evil with unwavering determination. That's proof enough for me to prove that he isn't here to destroy our world. But the claims of his power are far-fetched, I'd have to see it to believe it."

[Brain] "No arguing with you there. A warrior who can kill things that can destroy worlds? And eons, that's like billions of years right? He's been fighting longer than any one of us has been alive combined. And from what I've been hearing, we don't want to be on his shit list."

[Gagaran] "Damn... Do you think we should open his coffin to see what Lakyus is saying is true? I mean, she is saying that he only fights evil forces and whatnot."

[Evileye] "Are you nuts? You saw what that thing did to her. Who knows what else it could do! I say its best to leave it for now an-"

Before she could say anything else Lakyus got up and cut her off and glared daggers at her friends. They recoiled at her sudden attentiveness along with her sudden change in behavior.

[Lakyus] "Open it..." she said with uncharacteristic sternness.

[Evileye] "No way in hell! We all saw what it did to you! We're not going to let it hurt anyone els-"

[Lakyus] "I SAID FUCKING OPEN IT DAMNIT!"

Everyone including the twins flinched and were taken aback by her behavior and were staring with wide eyes and mouths agape. She never in a million years would act like this. But what could have her so riled up?

[Gagaran] "Whoa Lakyus take it down a few notches. You still need to recover fro-"

[Lakyus] "I don't give two shits about how I'm feeling right now! What matters is that we need to wake him up! A great evil is going to be set in motion and lots of innocent lives are going to be lost!"

[Gazef] "Are you certain of this Lakyus? Did you see something when you interacted with it?"

[Lakyus] "Yes, I caught a glimpse of what's to come. People trapped in a great wall of fire. Monsters and demons alike slaughtering innocent people and brave warriors like cattle." she said balling up her fists, almost drawing blood from how hard she was clenching them.

Then she made her way to the coffin, and each step she took the pentagram engraved on it grew brighter. Then she put her hand on top of it, feeling its oddly smooth surface.

[Lakyus] "Only he can help keep the casualties to a minimum. We can't save everyone that much is obvious, so we need him to be by our side to ensure that we save as many people as possible and keep as many safe as possible."

Then she attempted to push the top of the coffin off but to no avail. She motioned for her friends to assist her, but they were all hesitant. But seeing as she didn't get hurt this time, some of them assumed that it was safe... enough. Gazef and Gagaran decided to help just to be safe because they excelled in melee combat. Should anything happen they could possibly gain an advantage. Everyone else got into positions where they could assist at any given moment. Once everyone was settled, Gazef, Lakyus, and Gagaran prepared to open the stone coffin.

[Gazef] "Alright. On three. One... Two... Three!"

The trio struggled to push the stone cap. Each push only moved it a few inches.

[Gagaran] "Shit! This thing is a lot heavier than it looks! The fuck is this thing made of?!" she said with large beads of sweat forming on her face.

The coffin was now slightly open, any further attempts to push the cap off was futile. Then Lakyus thought of a way to get the cap off. Instead of pushing it off, use something sturdy and durable to pry it off, like prying a door or chest open that refuses to budge.

[Gazef] "Good idea Lakyus." he said catching his breath. Then he looked at Gagaran who was equally as exhausted. "Hey Gagaran. How tough do you think your warhammer is?"

[Gagaran] "Oh she's tough alright. Hey maybe we can use it to pry this damn thing open. I feel like I'm gonna pass out and puke trying to push this fucker any further, not in that order."

[Lakyus] "My thoughts exactly. Any further attempts to push it off is like trying to drown a fish."

Once the trio caught their breath and regained what strength they used, Gagaran got her warhammer and put the back of it under the small opening they made. Then she tried with all her might to pry it off and it budged ever so slightly, the sound of stone grinding against stone proved it could work. However she let out a groan of frustration seeing that it barely budged.

[Gazef] "Damn. Seeing you struggle like that makes me tired, here let me help. You need to have good leverage on it. Put one foot on the coffin while gripping the hammers handle, like this."

Gazef went to help Gagaran pry off the cap while Lakyus watched. Gazef and Gagaran had one foot each on the coffin for extra leverage. Then Gazef counted to three and both of them with all their might pulled on the warhammer. And to their satisfaction, they heard the stone cap shift. They felt it lifting bit by bit, the tension building up more and more. Then the cap finally gave and lifted off of the coffin, effectively knocking Gazef and Gagaran on their backs with a loud and painful THUD. Everyone in the group watched with anticipation as the coffin was finally opened after twenty minutes of struggling.

Lakyus was the first to go to her friends' sides after seeing them get knocked on their backs. The rest followed soon after.

[Lakyus] "Damn that looked painful are you two okay? If I would've helped I would be sent flying to the other side of this place."

[Gazef] "Eh it could've been worse." he grunted as he got to his feet.

[Gagaran] "Never felt better in my life." she said sarcastically.

[Lakyus] "Good. I'm happy that it's nothing too serious. Now let's see what or who is in there."

Everyone went to see what was in the coffin, and saying that what they saw was unusual and bizarre is an understatement. What lay in the stone coffin was a large man clad head to toe with green armor they have never seen before. What was most unusual for them was on the armor, a blade on his left arm and a strange piece of equipment behind his left shoulder. And his helmet, on the front of it was... tinted glass? They thought it to be a design flaw as glass is the most fragile material known to man.

[Lakyus] "So this is him..." she said with amazement. "The man that'll help save the lives of the innocent and the lives of those who'd sacrifice theirs. I gotta say, I had really high expectations, like really high expectations. Now I can say that they couldn't be high enough."

[Gagaran] "Look at the size of this guy! If I had to take a guess he's almost as tall as Gazef over here. Maybe even taller. Hey shorty, can you sense any magic coming from him? Surely someone like him has used some type of magic."

[Evileye] "Hm. I can't sense any magic coming from him, but saying that I could sense the power coming from him is a huge understatement. Just his presence gives me the chills, and that's saying a lot."

[Climb] "Wow. The great Evileye of Blue Rose is scared of something? Who would've thought."

[Evileye] "I didn't say I was scared asshole! I said he just gives me the chills."

[Climb] "I'm joking." In his awkwardness he quickly changed the subject. "Look at his armor... I've never seen anything like it. It has to be super tough for him to be using for so long."

[Brain] "Lakyus said he's been fighting for eons. I'd be surprised if he was immortal, just like that vampire bitch.. no offense Evileye." She just shrugged it off. "Hey Gazef he might just be able to best you in a fight."

[Gazef] "Oh really? What makes you think that? A warrior that transcends space and time, I most likely couldn't even hold a candle to him. I doubt my martial art could even so much as scratch his armor. I'd like to see you try and go against him."

[Brain] "If I do and do end up at least scratching it, you owe me a drink Stronoff."

[Gazef] "Is that a bet Unglaus? Don't be surprised when your plan goes up in smoke."

[Lakyus] "How do we go about waking him up? Speak to him? No that probably won't work, maybe we have to trigger something."

Before she could think of any other ways to awaken the man in green, he began to gain consciousness.

The Slayer lay in complete darkness, unable to make sense of his surroundings other than a stone cold surface. He remembered killing the Dark Lord and then everything became blurry. He remembered catching a glimpse of being put into a sarcophagus and then everything went dark. During his time in complete darkness, he felt his strength has reached unimaginable heights. As if the moment he killed Davoth, he absorbed his power. Then his time in the dark came to a screeching halt when he felt his coffin being tampered with. The only reason his place of rest being opened meant one thing... another demon invasion. When it was opened he couldn't quite wake up yet but he could hear voices, human voices. Then with a little effort he opened his eyes and began to shift where he lay.

"He's waking up." one of the voices said.

"Get back, you don't know what he might do!" another one exclaimed.

Then he sat up to get a better look at his surroundings. The first thing he saw was a group of people, four in armor, one in normal looking attire, one with a strange mask and cloak, and 2 in ninja attire. He wanted to speak to them but he felt his anger wouldn't let him. Then he noticed something else, he felt calmer, more at ease after he killed the Dark Lord. But his unfettered hatred for all demon kind still remained, like a scar on his soul. Maybe he can finally speak to people and not have someone else speak for him. Then he spoke to the group in a deep voice that could cut through metal.

"Why am I awake? I killed him, I shouldn't be awake! Who are you people and why are you here?!"

They were all staring with wide eyes at his sudden awakening save for one person, Lakyus. She calmly approached him and introduced herself.

[Lakyus] "I am Lakyus Alvein Dale Aindra, and these are my comrades." After she introduced everyone she explained why they came. "We've come here seeking something of incredible power. Now believe me when I say we were shocked to see that it was a person instead of some unholy eldritch creature or powerful item. Now as to why we awakened you... we need your help."

"Why? Are there demons? That would be the only explanation of why I'm awake. But I killed that fuckin Dark Lord so there shouldn't be any traces of demons or hell. It doesn't make sense."

[Lakyus] "I'm not certain about demons, but I do know that lots of innocent people and brave warriors are going to perish without your assistance."

He absolutely loathed demons, save for 'The Wretch That Shall Not Be Named', but he also hated when innocent people died when he could've helped. His affinity for humanity has dwindled through the eons he's been fighting, but that doesn't mean he didn't care enough about them to just let them perish. He knows all too well what losing something precious can do to someone and that it'll lead them down a path no one would dare take. He swung his legs around and got up from his coffin, his boots producing a loud thud when they hit the floor. Everyone was looking at him with wide eyes and jaws agape, even Evileye behind her mask. They saw that he was big in his stone sanctuary, but they didn't expect him to be this big. He was towering over them like a giant shield, even Gazef, Brain, and Gagaran were being dwarfed by the Slayer.

"Do you know when the attack will take place? Any countermeasures?"

[Lakyus] "No... All I know is that it will happen in the near future. As for countermeasures, the only thing we have are adventurers and a sizable military force ready to fight at a moment's notice. But other than that we need you to be there when things eventually go belly up."

He responded with a grunt and nodded. It was good to have people who are willing to fight to protect their home. But what she described to him made him think that they weren't enough. It was also a good plan to have him there ready to fight as well. Before, his actions and hatred for all demon kind caused him to put his grudge first before anything else, causing a huge loss of life because he wanted nothing more than to see all hellspawn crushed beneath his boot. He would make an effort to put the lives of the innocent first, but demons were still high on his hit list. He decided to help the strangers who had awakened him, but first he checked to see if he still had his weapons. To his dismay he didn't have them. The only weapons he had that were considered weapons were his Flame Belch, Doom Blade and Grenades and Frostbombs. Even though he didn't have the majority of his arsenal of carnage and destruction, he felt that he didn't need them. After killing the Dark Lord he felt infinitely stronger, faster, and durable. He felt like he could kill the strongest demons hell had to offer with a single bloodpunch. Hell, he even felt like he could kill a Titan with ease.

"I'll go with you. But you'll explain everything to me on the way there. Understood?"

[Lakyus] "Of course! We owe you as much since you agreed to help. Now let's get out of this place. As much as I want to stay, we have to report everything back to his majesty."

Suddenly the Slayer turned his head toward the entrance to his tomb, looking at something the others couldn't see. It felt demonic, but not as intense as the demons he's faced, not even close. This one was like a drop of polluted water in a bottomless blood ocean. He stared at it for a moment before his HUD picked up an energy signature similar to the portals Vega and Samuel Hayden opened for him before. Then the thing he was glaring at was gone without a trace but not without him noticing a presence that reeked of death, but was strangely human. Like a soul that had been misplaced.

[Lakyus] "You okay? You see something over there?"

[Brain] "Yeah you kinda spaced out for a bit."

"It's nothing, move out."

Earlier...

Demiurge was following the group from above to not draw attention to himself. He saw them battle various monsters and come out on top. Which was strange for him considering the monsters they've faced should have made easy work of them. But he noticed that most if not all monsters were reckless and irrational, attacking anything that so much as twitched.

[Demiurge] "(It must be an effect from the Reckoning's source. Interesting.)" he thought to himself.

Then he saw the group encounter something he'd never thought he'd see, a War Troll. At first nothing happened, then he faintly heard the troll tell them to turn back. The leader of the group must've refused because the troll began to go on the offensive. It was a massacre, many were butchered with a single attack. It didn't recklessly attack but instead waited for the group to make a move.

[Demiurge] "So it's waiting for them to attack for a chance to counter attack. This is most interesting indeed!"

The battle was relatively short, but well fought. This one posed a significant challenge to them, even killing some of them. But their numbers were too great and overwhelmed the beast.

[Demiurge] "So much for that..." he sighed adjusting his glasses. "Now where are they going to go next."

He proceeded to follow them until they stopped, their numbers greatly reduced as some decided to return to their base camp. One shot a spell out of the blue when he noticed that the spell's projectile vanished. But what was more concerning was the rippling effect that the spell left. Then one of them slowly went forward after casting a protection spell. Their body slowly disappeared into thin air, then they came back signaling them to follow.

[Demiurge] "(An illusion? No... An invisibility spell? Most likely the case.")

Then he saw the group move forward and vanish. After a moment some soldiers reappeared with looks of pure horror, as if they've seen something they shouldn't have seen. Then after they left the area to return to their camp he landed where the rest vanished. He saw that everything in front of him was being distorted, like a giant wall of water.

[Demiurge] "Hm. Interesting. It's like invisibility or illusion magic. Yet it's not magic, what is going on here?"

When he was done processing what he was seeing, he decided to go through it as the group he was trailing did. What he saw sent chills down his spine, something only a supreme being could manage. The land shifted to a nightmarish landscape one would describe in myths and legends. Demiurge shook off the initial shock and continued to trail the group. He followed for some time, easily traversing the hellish landscape and avoiding anything that could possibly permanently wound him. Then he saw something in the distance being held up by massive chains.

[Demiurge] "Are those ruins? An ancient temple perhaps? I must say it would fit right into Nazarick, like a missing piece to a puzzle."

He continued to trail them and follow them into the structure. He was more or less impressed by its design and the material it was made of. The people he was following entered a room at the far end of the corridor, and something from the room was making him feel off. Something he thought he couldn't feel ever since he was created and brought into this world.

Fear.

It was feint at first, from anxiousness and feeling uneasy. The closer he got the feelings grew multiplicatively, he felt as if something was baring into his soul. But he continued on despite the intense feeling of dread. He hid behind one of the entrance walls behind an invisibility spell and proceeded to spy on the group. Some time had passed before one of them, Lakyus of Blue Rose, went to open the coffin in the middle and was engulfed in crimson electricity and her screams of anguish disturbed even him. He was familiar with screams of anguish and pain, but this was different. The red sparks of electricity felt otherworldly and full of hatred and rage. His instincts told him to run but he was frozen in place. Then Lakyus was sent plunging into the water that surrounded the coffin.

He stood there frozen for some time, his mind racing. Then Lakyus' friends went to her aid. For a while she was muttering to herself just outside of his hearing range. Then after some shouting back and forth she went to open the coffin. She struggled and asked for assistance from Gazef and Gagaran. They struggled even further, but eventually they opened the coffin. What he saw was a man clad in green armor, but what worried him most was his aura. He could feel the rage and power radiating off of him. He hated to admit it but his power alone could rival that of the strongest of the supreme beings, Touch Me, which was no easy feat. The adventurers were conversing with the unknown man and he wanted to go closer, but his instincts were clawing at him to get as far away from him as possible. So he decided to ask Ainz to conjure a gate to escape.

[Demiurge] "{Message}" he said in a shaky whisper.

He could feel sweat forming on his face as he waited for a response. To his relief Ainz responded rather quickly as if he was expecting him to reach out.

[Ainz] "{Ah Demiurge, I hope your reconnaissance is going well. You haven't reached back to me for some time so I would assume you'd found plenty of valuable information.}"

[Demiurge] "I'm sorry my lord but must request that you summon a gate at my position."

[Ainz] "{Demiurge what's the matter? I've never heard you sound so troubled.}"

[Demiurge] "I might be in serious danger Lord Ainz."

This caught Ainz' attention. Never before had he heard Demiurge sound so troubled. But he also admitted he was in danger. As far as he knew Demiurge was always calm and collected, but something was making him act way differently.

[Ainz] "(If Demiurge says he's in trouble then it must be serious.), Alright I'll summon one to you right away, but if you don't mind me asking. What has you so on edge?"

[Demiurge] "I can explain everything to you in full detail when I return. I-"

He was cut off when he felt the atmosphere get denser and heavier than the densest of metals. He felt as if something was tearing a hole into his soul. He looked up and saw the man standing from his coffin and staring at him even though he was concealed behind an invisibility spell. He could feel the killing intent wash over him like a tsunami of blood and hatred. If anyone could glare daggers, this giant of a man was glaring razor sharp greatswords. He was petrified to where he couldn't move or speak, or even breathe. His legs were ready to collapse from the pure pressure and power the man was emitting.

He felt as if he would die right then and there, until a large skeletal hand pulled him into a swirling magic rift. He was back in Nazarick's throne room with every floor guardian and Ainz by his side looking at him with concern. He didn't notice this but he was sweating profusely and hyperventilating.

[Aura] "Demiurge! What happened to you out there man?!" she said rushing to kneel by his side. "You look like you've seen some scary stuff."

[Cocytus] "Yeah, even for someone like you to say you're in serious danger must mean you've seen something that you wish you hadn't."

But the most concerned was Ainz as he saw his loyal guardian in a state he never thought he'd see him in.

[Ainz] "Demiurge it's alright, you're back within the walls of Nazarick, you're home. So please calm yourself, slow your breathing. I need you to explain to me what happened, even if it may be... unpleasant for you."

Demiurge gradually collected himself from the experience and slowly got to his feet with a grunt and dusted off his crimson suit and then knelt on one knee.

[Demiurge] "My Lord... there is something, or rather, someone who poses a threat Nazarick and was just set free into the world. I felt a power that no mere mortal could possibly have obtained. I couldn't accurately gauge their power, but from a somewhat close encounter they have power that rivals that of a Supreme Being, or surpasses one."

Almost all the Floor Guardians took offense to this, especially Albedo, as comparing a Supreme Being's power to an unknown factor was blasphemy at its finest, especially to Ainz albeit indirectly.

[Albedo] "How dare you suggest that someone surpass our Lord in strength!"

[Ainz] "Albedo please now is not the time for childish squabbling. Control your outbursts at times like these. Any other time would be acceptable but now is serious. Besides, he wasn't directly referring to me. However, comparisons help us get a read on our adversaries, so what he said was warranted."

[Albedo] "But I- of course. My apologies Lord Ainz."

[Ainz] "Now Demiurge."

Ainz put a hand on his shoulder and his eyes flared with crimson flames.

[Ainz] "Explain everything down to the most insignificant minute detail. Leave nothing out. NOTHING." he said in a firm tone. "(Chances are they're a powerful player, but we've known almost every powerful player in Yggdrasil. So that brings down the chances of them being one. Maybe it's a world enemy or someone with a world item, or a world item wielding world enemy. Just thinking about it gives me the chills.)"

Present...

The Slayer was looking at the entrance to his tomb where the presence he felt had vanished. It felt much like a demon, but was more... complicated. It was nothing like the ones he eradicated back then, those were hellbent on complete dominance over everything, killing anything that was unfortunate to be in their path. The one he felt just mere moments ago was more tame and very intelligent if they didn't make a bee line straight towards him. He was lost in processing everything up until this point in time he didn't notice a blonde girl trying to get his attention.

[Lakyus] "...llo? Hello? Hey. You okay in there? Do you see something over there?"

[Brain] "Yeah you kinda spaced out on us for a bit."

"It's nothing. Move out."

Everyone made their way out of the temple structure and back into the hellish landscape with the Slayer following close behind. To say the Slayer didn't miss this place was an understatement. It wasn't exactly Hell but he hated it all the same, it brought forth too many memories he wishes he could forget. The only regret he had was that he couldn't eradicate the demons sooner, but he is only one man who can't be everywhere at once.

Everyone was on their guard on the trip back from the 'Hell on Earth' sans for the Slayer. His sensors weren't picking up any demonic signatures at all, which relieved him somewhat but was concerning two times as much. But he didn't tell them because he believed letting ones guard down for any reason shows weaknesses that everything and everyone can exploit.

They eventually reached the end of the small slice of hell. The Slayers sensors were picking up an energy signature he wasn't familiar with from the camouflage field in front of them. It wasn't like Argent energy by any means, nor was it something Earth had developed. The second everyone passed through, it vanished along with the small slice of hell as if it never existed. What remained was what was supposed to be there, a vast wooded area with flowing rivers and an abundance of wildlife.

"(Mmh, Maybe I didn't finish off that Dark Lord asshole and he's fucking with me. It was all there now it just vanishes. Surely someone is fucking with me.)"

[Evileye] "Strange... as soon as we passed through it just vanished. Was it all an illusion? But that's not possible because it was as every bit as real as... him."

She pointed at the Slayer as they never asked what his name was. They were more focused on leaving that nightmare sooner rather than never.

[Lakyus] "Yeah speaking of which, we never properly introduced ourselves did we? Well let's start again yeah? I'm Lakyus Alvein Dale Aindra, but you can just call me Lakyus. And I'm the leader of the adamantite adventurer group 'Blue Rose!' I specialize in melee combat."

[Gagaran] "I'm Gagaran. This party's friendly neighborhood tank and heavy hitter! I take the brunt of most attacks and can hit back just as hard. Nice to meet ya!" she exclaimed proudly brandishing her warhammer.

[Tia/Tina] "I'm Tia/I'm Tina, it's a pleasure to make your aqquaitance." They said in unison and with a bow of their heads. "We're the group's stealth and assassination specialists."

[Evileye] "And I'm Evileye. I'm our magic and support specialist." she said in her usual cold tone.

"Mmh" he nodded. Then he turned to the other three members. "And you three?"

[Gazef] "I am Gazef Stronoff. Chief warrior of the Re-Estez kingdom and his majesty's bodyguard. It's a pleasure to meet you."

"A disciplined warrior and soldier type? I can respect that. We might have some things in common Stronoff."

[Brain] "Brain Unglaus. A run of the mill mercenary type looking to better myself in my area of expertise, swordsmanship. Nice to meet ya."

[Climb] "And I guess that leaves me. My name is Climb, I'm a Knight of the Re-Estez kingdom and Princess Renner's bodyguard. It's nice to meet you."

[Lakyus] "Aaand that leaves you. What's your name mister..?"

"My name? It's been ages since I used my name that it's been lost to time and forgotten."

[Lakyus] "Then what should we call you if you don't remember it?"

"Slayer."

Upon hearing this Lakyus' eyes lit up like a child in a candy shop. A slayer? A slayer of dragons? A slayer of monsters? So many questions to ask!

[Lakyus] "Oooo! A slayer? What do you slay? Trolls? The undead? Ooh ooh maybe even dragons!? So exciting! Please tell us! Tellustellustellus!"

"Another time... maybe once we've reached our destination."

[Lakyus] "Auuugh come on please?"

[Evileye] "Come on Lakyus give it a rest. He'll get to it eventually. We need to get out of here first."

Lakyus pouted like a toddler that didn't get the toy they wanted, puffed cheeks and all.

[Gazef] "She's right we need to head back to base camp and let them know about him. But first we need to check the area. Evileye, go ahead and get a birdseye view of our surroundings."

[Evileye] "On it. {Fly}"

A blue light enveloped her and she took to the sky. She had a good view of the forest. She saw that all the wildlife weren't so jumpy anymore. Now that she thought about it she did feel more at ease when they left that place. But that also meant that any hostile creature would probably be on their way back.

[Evileye] "(Maybe thats what that field was. It kept anything from going too deep. The closer anything got the more the feeling of dread and anxiousness increased, causing things to start moving away from it to keep a safe distance. Since it's gone, we might have heavy resistance going back.)"

She glided back down to inform everyone of her observation.

"A pocket dimension meant to ward anything off until I was released maybe?"

[Brain] "Yeah now that you mention it, I do feel more relaxed and less like a wind-up-toy." he remarked rolling hos shoulders.

[Gazef] "Still, be on your guard and keep your head on a swivel if we are to expect heavy resistance returning to base camp."

They continued to head back to base camp, their trip uneventful with the usual encounter with wild life. The Slayer however was, in a way, enjoying nature in silence. How long has it been since he truly had time to soak in the oxygen the trees and vegetation provided to support life? How long has it been since he's seen wild animals just going about their life without a care in the world?

The group decided to take a quick break from the hike. The Slayer was checking the immediate area for any threats. His HUD displayed the group of eight as friendly, along with any wildlife within a fifty metre radius as non-hostile or potential threat. His patrolling came to a halt when he saw something that brought back some pleasant memories.

A group of rabbits, a mother and her three offspring. The mother made eye contact and so did her three kits. For some reason they weren't threatened by his imposing figure. Instead they approached him, albeit very slowly, and craned their necks to look up at him. He knelt down and slowly reached out his hand, and they slowly approached. This was the most tranquil he's been in ages. Just when they were millimeters away, they perked their heads up and looked in another direction only to flee in the opposite direction.

"...Daisy..." he sighed inwardly.

Then his HUD flashed with a warning. /INCOMING HOSTILES/

[Gazef] "Contact! Enemies closing in and fast! Everyone rally on me and prepare to engage!"

The Slayer regrouped with everyone who was in defensive positions. He could hear footsteps, rather large footsteps, along with a feint rumble. He tried to use his visor to get a clear image of what was coming, but the dust being picked up made it difficult for him to get that clear image.

[Lakyus] "It hasn't even been twenty-four hours and you've seem to have found yourself some trouble Slayer. I wanna sit back and see how you fight to be completely honest."

[Gagaran] "I second that. But that wouldn't be fun at all! I need to relieve some stress after what we've seen."

The rumbling grew louder and louder, the dust cloud getting larger. The Slayer's HUD was picking up enemy signatures, lots of enemy signatures, an entire stampede. Soon whatever was coming came to a standstill about twenty metres away, the dust cloud still obscuring everyone's view. The dust was still lingering until a strong breeze slowly blew the dust away to reveal a small army consisting of goblins and ogres armed with crude weaponry such as knives, clubs and spears. All of them had a look that was a mix of fear and bloodlust but mostly the latter.

"What are those?"

[Lakyus] "The small ones are goblins, they're known for raiding helpless villages, killing mainly the men and taking the women to make them nothing more than goblin factories. But there are some good ones out there that are just like us and are the polar opposite of those... things. The big ones in the back are ogres. They're nothing too serious, but they can still do some serious damage. Especially if they're in a group." she said with a drop of sweat forming on her brow.

[Gazef] "We need a plan. I expect us to get out of this alive, but we won't be unscathed." he said sword in a ready position. "Alright, me, Brain, Climb, Gagaran, Lakyus and the twins will reduce the fodder. Evileye, I leave you with dealing with any stragglers with any ranged spell in your arsenal. And Slayer you'll-"

He was cut off when the Slayer walked past them rolling his shoulders and cracking his neck and knuckles. The goblins and ogres readied for a charge, most of them cackling like madmen who found a legendary treasure.

"(I know those looks all too well. Looks like their only goal is to get rid of me and anyone who stands in their way no matter what. Just like those fuckin demons.)"

Then the Slayer extended his doom blade and adjusted his equipment launcher and flame belch. Then without a word he charged the horde faster than any man or monster, and the horde charged in kind with a battlecry, weapons ready to strike. Before the goblins in the front moved a metre, the Slayer was already on top of them and ran two goblins through their skulls with his doom blade, picking them up off the ground and flinging them into the horde knocking some goblins off their feet.

The horde converged on him ready to overpower him with numbers. They stabbed, sliced, and bludgeoned the Slayer, but to no avail. The Slayer retracted his doomblade and grabbed two goblins by the legs and used them to beat several more until the goblins in his hands were nothing but red stains on his gauntlets and until there was nothing more but mounds of flesh in his wake. The goblins' attacks were getting desperate but they kept up the onslaught even though it was futile. Then the Slayer jumped and air dashed backwards, his gaze still on the horde, then he unleashed a torrent of flames hotter than hellfire from his flamebelch into the horde. Screams of agony echoed through the air as flesh melted off bones and the bones turned to ash.

Then without a second longer he charged back in, leaving the ones set ablaze to their demise and focused on the ones that were untouched by his flamebelch's fiery gaze. This time he opted to use his fists. His fists met with every goblin who was unfortunate to be close and in his line of sight. He punched them with such force that there was nothing left but red puddles and chunks of flesh. The goblins numbers were being reduced to zero, and the group behind him could only watch slack-jawed at the display of speed, strength and brutality.

The Slayer had dealt with almost all the goblins and the rest were going to ambush him again. Then he got an idea and a smirk formed behind his visor. When the remaining goblins jumped at him, he grabbed one by the head and double jumped into the air and air dashed to the side. He then used his equipment launcher to fire a grenade into the goblins mouth and throw it back into the remaining goblins in a matter of seconds before gravity could take full effect. Then as soon as the makeshift goblin bomb made contact with one of the other goblins, the grenade exploded in a hot ball of fiery death. Flinging limbs, organs and entrails across the field, into trees and plants alike.

[Lakyus] "What did he just do?! Did he use some kind of new explosive magic? Whatever he did, that was so intense, so... brutal..."

[Gagaran] "He took on that horde and killed all those goblins single handedly. He looks like he didn't even break a sweat too. Badass."

[Climb] "B-but there's still the ogres! We need to get in there and help him!" he yelled gripping his sword.

They stared at him standing in the middle of the aftermath of his brutal onslaught, with a look of utter shock and intrigue. Then he turned his attention to the ogres, who were there to deal the finishing blows after the goblins tired out their target, which to their ungodly misfortune did the exact opposite. There were six of them and they all charged him ready to attack with their clubs. The Slayer charged in kind with a somewhat sadistic smirk, and readied his fist. When he was within striking range he unleashed a Bloodpunch on an ogre that was in the front. The ogre exploded into a red mist and its entrails and chunks of its flesh rained down on the others and the field. The Slayer expected them to have some resistance but to his not-so-suprise they couldn't even handle a single Bloodpunch.

The shockwave of the Bloodpunch knocked down the other ogres and left them in a daze, and in the Slayer's point of view, were flashing. Another smirk formed behind his helmet, and he charged the nearest ogre and extended his doomblade. He jumped on the ogre's shoulders and drove his blade deep into the front of its skull killing it instantly, but he wasn't done. He then let his weight and gravity pull him to the ground, carving through the ogre from its head, all the way down to its guts and straight through its pelvis. He pulled his blade out and the ogre's insides became outsides as its internal organs spilled out of the newly formed gash on its front with a downpour of blood, then the two halves fell to the floor.

By the time he was done, one of the other ogres had recovered from their dazed state. The ogre rushed the Slayer with its giant club and swung with all the strength it could muster. The Slayer ducked under the swing and hit the club with an uppercut, splintering it at the end and staggering the ogre. And again there was the flash. The Slayer took the opportunity and knocked down the ogre with a powerful kick, putting a sizable hole in its gut, and knocking it on its giant ugly ass. The ogre let out a roar of pain and anguish, its guts were spilling and blood was pouring by the gallon. Then the Slayer tore the splintered club from the ogres grip and set the tip ablaze with a quick burst of the flame belch. Then without a second to waste, planted the splintered club, now an inferno on a stick, into the ogres face and through its skull with a sickening scrunch.

The remaining four ogres could only watch as their comrades got slaughtered. But they didn't falter as soon as he was done with his latest victim, they charged him ready to put him down.

"(I've vented out for too long, I need to get these people back to their home. And possibly get some answers of what I should do in the meantime before Lakyus' vision comes to pass.)" the Slayer thought, rushing at the remaining ogres.

Then he fired a frost bomb at the ogres and managed to freeze three of them. Then he charged and unleashed another devastating bloodpunch, shattering the three frozen ogres and staggering the final ogre. Then he saw it again, that flash. He rushed the ogre from the front and jumped high and kneed it in the chin, causing it to stagger even more. Then he jumped on its shoulders and put his right boot on its forehead and left boot on its chin, leaving its disgusting maw agape. Then just as when the ogre recovered from its daze, the Slayer fired his flamebelch into its gaping maw. A steady stream of fire scorched it from the inside, then flames erupted from its eyes, ears, nose, every orifice on its body. The ogre thrashed about, slowly turning to nothing more than a charred skeleton as its flesh turned to dust in the wind, but eventually fell backwards with the Slayer still atop as it fell like timber. The skeletal remains of the ogre didn't make a sound as it turned to dust as soon as it hit the dirt.

Lakyus' group along with Brain and Climb stared at the aftermath with jaws agape and eyes as wide as they could go. Even Gazef and Evileye stared with shock. Then they all ran to the Slayer who stood there admiring his work. He heard them approaching and turned to meet them. Lakyus was practically skipping with each step.

[Lakyus] "That was so awesome!" she exclaimed. "Literally using goblins like flails to kill other goblins? Who would've thought of that! Then the fire, the ice and the explosions ohoho the explosions."

"You're really ecstatic for someone who witnessed a one sided slaughter." he said somewhat dismissively.

[Lakyus] "Trust me, in our line of work this is just another day at the office. We could've handled it... not without taking a few hits of course, but you went at them solo! They outnumbered you but that didn't stop you from being a total badass."

[Evileye] "I have to ask, what was that red energy when you punched them? Is it some kind of magic?"

[Gazef] "As much as I'd like to know, he'll have to answer your questions later, the sun is just about ready to start setting. We need to head back to base camp as soon as possible so we can begin our departure to the capital as early as tomorrow morning. And from today's events we'll need the sleep."

Then without any further delay, they resumed their trip back to base camp.

When they arrived it had become dark and the moon was shining bright. The Slayer was getting looks of fear and awe. Everyone there had never seen armor so bizarre.

[Gazef] "Don't worry everyone, he's friendly! I believe that he is what we were looking for."

Everyone had calmed down a bit and resumed what they were doing. Gazef and the others retired for the night while Slayer stood outside.

[Lakyus] "You not gonna sleep Slayer? Out of all of us you probably need it the most."

Slayer never needed sleep let alone thought about it. His crusade against Hell's forces and his Praetor Suit made him accustomed to not needing rest.

"You people go ahead. I'll stay out here and keep watch for any possible threats."

Lakyus retired without further questions with the others, leaving Slayer to his own devices. He looked up at the stars and started thinking to himself about how or why he's awake. He thought it could be outside interference or divine intervention, but the things he could get possible answers from are killed by his hands. He picked up a rock and held it firmly in his gauntlet, then in a moment of anger he threw the rock into the night sky with such strength it looked like a shooting star.

"(Damn it all! After all the shit I've been through! After all the shit I've done! Even after killing that Maykr bitch, that fucker Hayden, and that piece of shit Davoth!)"

After his moment of anger he calmed down and decided that he'll try and get answers, but for now he'll just have to take it slow, one day after the other.

Hello not dead! I had a lot on my mind and so many story ideas I wish to write that I somewhat strayed or almost forgotten about this fic.

Okay quick question, do you like the current style of writing or should I change it to something more normal?

And, should I or should I not rewrite this starting from the beginning of Overlord where Momonga was first isekaid? Kinda like fallout or any rpg game to go back and see the unique dialogue and interactions.

Anyway thanks for taking the time to read this and have a good rest of your day or night!
