Charlotte's Afterlife 1
"Well, well," GLaDOS says while she redirects Chells attention from Mel to Charlotte. "It seems your homicidal friend has just finished her written examination, and what's this?" GLaDOS pauses to bring the results onto screen. "It seems as though her creativity far surpasses yours, well, then I'm sure she won't try to murder me like you did."
Chell looks as though she's about to scream out, but holds it in.
"Something to note at though is her impulsivity score is well into the 93rd percentile."

"Where am I now?" I ask, even if there isn't anyone around. I look around this new room, it isn't like the last one I was in, the last one had nothing but a desk, a pencil, and a really thick looking test I had to take. After I took that test a hole opened up that's the same size as the test, and I dropped it in. Then a door opened up that I didn't even see before. I went through the door and now I'm in this new room. This room is more then completely white walls though, at least there's variety, even if it is just BLACK and white now.
In this room there's a wardrobe filled with different coloured jumpsuits, 4 of them: Green, Purple, Yellow, and Red. I grab the green one. To the left of that is a circular door with a stick figure on it. To the left of THAT is a pair of, well, I guess the best word to use would be boots. They aren't normal looking boots though, they go high up on your leg in the back and strap on in the front. Plus it looks like I'll be walking on just my toes, since the heels of the boots are high up. There's also a black metal bar thing attached to the back. I examine the boots closely, the metal bar thing works like hydraulics, and it's flexible, meaning it'll probably be easy to walk in these things. I grab the jumpsuit and bring it, as well as the boots, over to the corner to change.
Surprisingly everything fits the way it's supposed to. I walk over to the door to leave the room, but I'm stopped by a voice that's coming from above me.
"Hello, and welcome to the Aperture Science computer-aided Enrichment Center." The voice says, I wish I knew where it was coming from though, I don't see any speakers.
"We hope that your application process was a pleasant one, and you are now ready to begin testing." The robotic woman's voice tells me.
"Testing? On what?" I don't really know what to think, but I'm sure this woman will tell me.
"You will be testing the Aperture Science Handheld Portal Device, as well as a variety of Military Androids." She sounds like she's just going through the motions, am I just another number to her? And I wish I knew what I was testing better.
"Well I'm sure that makes sense to you, but I don't know what either of those things are." I put my hands at my waist to assert myself.
"In layman's terms, you will be testing a portal gun, and lots of different sentry turrets." I perk up to that
"Guns? Turrets? I'm in!"
I excitedly walk through the next door, testing guns against guns? this is going to be awesome.
I'm disappointed, to say the least, because the room I walk into isn't anything like the voice described. All there is is a huge red button on the floor, a hole in the ceiling that drops giant boxes down, a dotted blue line, and a door. There's also a small wall mounted city scanner, but, well, I guess it isn't a city scanner since it looks nothing like one, but I wouldn't know what else to call it, a room scanner? Either way it follows my every movement. Oh well, that isn't too important I guess, what's important is figuring out how to open the door, maybe I'll find Charlie on the other side. I reach into my back pocket and pull out my pocket knife, this should open the door.
"Wh-what are you doing?!" I hear the robotic woman say from her speaker in the wall.
"What's it look like I'm doing? I'm trying to get out of this room." I say as I start trying to find the locking part of the door with my knife. I thought she was like, supreme ruler of this place or something, shouldn't she know what I'm doing?
"That is not how you solve this test, what you're doing is damaging official Aperture property!" She sounds angry, or, well as angry as a computerized voice CAN sound. I pull away from the door.
"Alright, jeeze, I'll find a NEW way to open this door." I tell the voice, I then follow the dotted line on the floor. It goes from the door to the huge red button that…I wonder. I go and stand on the button, I wouldn't be surprised if I was wrong, it seems too easy to…
The door just opened…I stood on the button and then the dotted line turned orange. Then the door opens.
"Really? It's THAT simple computer voice? Weigh down a button? That's it?" I ask, because if that's the case then I don't want to continue.
"No, it isn't that simple, destructive test subject; I assure you it will become far more challenging as you continue." I wait for more, like a list of things I'll have to do, or even her name, but she's done, she isn't going to tell me anymore right now. Fine, she doesn't have to, I'll get it out of her, one way or another. I grab the cube thing, which is made out of Styrofoam for some reason, and I set it on the button, following that I walk through the open door and down a flight of stairs leading to an elevator.
=====
"How nice of you to finally give me a Portal gun that can shoot orange portals now, and hey, only 10 tests in, you might wanna slow it down a bit." I tell the computer voice, she's been getting boring. When do I get to test the turrets again?
"You might want to save your cynicism for when you'll truly need it. For now please make your way to the elevator, that is, if you're legs are long enough to get you down each step." And there it is. The voice has been making short jokes since like, test room 2, I mean, I'm only 5'3, that's not short for a 21 year old woman.
Okay, maybe it is…but not by that much, and she doesn't have the right to tell me every 10 seconds. Either way I'm pretty sure I have the portal gun testing down pat.
"Yeah yeah, I'm shorter then other people, I get it, when do I start testing those turrets?" I ask the computer woman's voice as I get into the elevator.
No comment, typical.
The elevator doors open and I walk up the stairs leading to test room #11. But it doesn't, the giant board thing that says what test I'm in says 2-1.
"What's with the room number, it should say 11, are you slipping up?" I smirk at the room scanner that the computer voice watches me through.
"I'll have you know, test subject, that as a sentient artificial intelligence, the chances of me making a mistake do not exist." She says, she sounds REALLY angry at me, too bad it's really fun to make fun of her. I walk into the test room place as we talk.
"You know, with all the short jokes you make, you kind of have a short temper of your own." I say just before laughing loudly.
"Target acquired."
I turn to the left to see who said that, but I'm interrupted by a stream of bullets.
I smile, "finally," I say as I find cover, I duck behind a wall across the way and reach for my pocket knife. I can already feel my adrenaline rushing, that means I'll have the advantage of speed. I run to the wall and get ready to run, as soon as the robot reloads I'll shut it down.

"Target lost."
Now.
I run and before I get spotted I jump on the spot, this gives me my momentum. I use the momentum to flip, so now, upside down and in the air I can see what was shooting at me. It's the same type of turret I saw Chell with when she entered town. I guess that makes sense, she was here before. It still seems to not have noticed me, not surprising, it's only been about 1 second so far. Let's get creative here, shall we? I shoot a blue portal, first at the floor behind me, then an orange one below the turret. I land across the hall as I hear the turret fall through the orange portal I set. I can't turn quickly enough to spot it before gravity will take back over, so I simply throw my knife backwards at where the turret is. I hear the clash of metal piercing metal and I turn around to look. There's nothing there, not even- oh right… I spot the turret as it falls upward through the blue portal I set just 4 seconds ago. It's arm things are still out, but it's not shooting, I guess I busted it with the knife. I knew that'd be easy. I'd talk to the computer voice about it, but I'm still moving too fast, my voice would come out high pitched and really fast. I grab my pocket knife and continue.
I run down the hall and turn the corner and spot three of the same type of turret, the first can spot me around the corner and is already activating, the second is looking straight on, and the third is facing away from me. With limited time I shoot an orange portal at the wall beside the turret facing me. And I stare for a 7th of a second as the portal moves towards the wall, I know it's all happening in an instant, but it's slowed down for me. To tell you the truth, it's pretty cool looking to see. But the first turret has started shooting, so back to the point. I point my portal gun at the floor underneath the second turret, which has just noticed me. I set a blue portal and watch the turret fall through it and hit it's buddy that almost hit me with like 20 bullets, good thing I can dodge worth a crap, not like my brother. From here I run over to the third turret and push it over, poor thing, it didn't even get a chance to stop me.
In the next room there's about 10 of the turrets all facing towards the center of the room, I guess the computer voice is trying to out flank me. She's smart too, I can't even set portals in there. I guess it's time for some stylish take down.
=====
Stepping into the elevator I have a chance to slow down, the computer voice set up more and more turrets as I went through the room, and that was only room 2-1. I look up and hear the distorted mumbles of the computer voice trying to talk to me, I wish I could make I out, I'm still moving too fast, and this elevator is taking forever.
When I FINALLY step off the elevator I'm surprised, the room number is different, it`s a large 125, and it only shows two pictures underneath it, a ball with three legs, and a person being shot. I guess I`ll have to be careful.
"There you are."
I hear from behind me as I stare at the board. But wait, I'm still moving quickly, I shouldn't be able to hear normal voices…
Uh oh…

"I can't help but notice," GLaDOS says to Chell in her chamber, "At how inhuman your friend seems to be. She seems to possess incredible speed for someone of with human inferiority."
Chell inwardly smiles; she doesn't understand how Charlotte was able to do any of that to the turrets. But hearing her make snarky comments back at Glados has been worth everything Chell has gone through.
"But I suppose this is a good thing." Chell snaps her look at Glados, what did you just say?
"You see, I have created several Aperture Science testing aids that were deemed too dangerous by the old scientists that worked here. All 5 of them were deemed dangerous because there were no possible way humans, or even robots could combat them. One of these testing aids is a special brand of turret. It can do many things. First and foremost it has the ability to walk around and move on it's own accord, as well as shoot at you."
