As the battle around Kamino was raging, Luna was walking around the Theed Palace, doing what she could to take her mind off the battle ragging out in the galaxy. Four of her knights were out there fighting while the others were guarding Naboo from any sneak attacks. Luna knew that the four that had gone in were more than enough to take on Tirek's fleet, she couldn't help but feel like something was wrong. Something in her heart told her that something was afoot, but she had a difficult time trying to determine what it could be.

"Everything alright, Princess Luna?" a voice asked. Luna turned to see another of her knights, Light Flare, walking over to her. Luna sighed and smiled.

"I'm alright, Light," Luna replied. "Just worried about the four that went to stop Tirek's fleet. I know Crimson, Guardian, Hope, and Stone can handle themselves, but something tells me that something is about to happen that will turn the war against us even more."

"I get what you mean," Light commented. "The force keeps telling me that something is wrong and that we need to be ready for any trouble. I brought up my concerns to Master Nightshade, but he just scoffed and said that I had no idea what I was talking about."

"What happened when you brought the concerns to Crimson and Hope?" Luna questioned. She knew that Light would at least tell those two, considering that Hope was Light's closest friend and Crimson would sometimes have good advice for knights that listened to the force more than the masters.

"Crimson said to trust in the force," Light answered. "Hope agreed with me that something was wrong. He felt it too, but he couldn't place what it was." Light frowned after she was finished. Hope was one of the few knights that she could really trust, so much so that she had even begun to develop feelings for him. Feelings that the masters warned against.

As Luna was about to question more, she felt a tremor in the force, causing her to almost collapse from the shock of it. Light bent down to help lift her back up. As they got back to a standing position, they felt a massive wave of darkness sweep over the planet of Naboo. As Luna looked up at the sky, she saw the dreaded sight of Tirek's transports descending down onto the planet. The war had come to her own capital planet of Naboo.

"Get all forces on alert!" Luna ordered. Light nodded and ran to the command room to sound the alarm. As soon as Light ran around the corner, Poptart and Trilby rounded the other corner.

"What are your orders, your highness?" Poptart asked.

"Get out there and help our soldiers stop this invasion!" Luna commanded. "Trilby, you get the civilians to safety. Poptart, I need you to lead the outer defenses. Find White Rose and have her join you. Dusk and Moonlight will lead our space forces to stop more transports from attacking."

Poptart and Trilby nodded and ran off to their assigned jobs. Tirek's bombers were beginning their runs on the defenses, hitting several key emplacements, making it much harder for Luna's forces to hold them off. The transports soon landed and Tirek's forces began to swarm from their craft and started attacking the front line. Luna's forces held off the first assault, knowing that it was only a minor attack to determine how strong the defenses were. More transports landed further away and began to unload their tanks and droids, preparing to march on in a full scale assault, no sign of retreat.

Luna looked out to the army and saw their banner. A banner she had hoped to never see again long after this person was banished from their home. It was Sombra's banner. The banner that brought fear to anyone that fought him. She watched as Sombra's forces got into position before they inched to the front line. Sombra's tanks began firing on Luna's trenches, forcing a lot of Luna's troops to find cover, dirt dropping all around them from the tank blasts.

Luna's snipers popped up, getting what shots they could, many of them falling to Tirek's own snipers. The troop carriers opened their doors, allowing more of Tirek's forces to charge the trenches. Luna's forces began to waver, many of their recruits running, only to be shot in the back. As Tireks forces made it to the trench, Luna's troops fought back, many dropping their blasters and using their vibroblades or fists, determined to make the enemy pay for every comrade they lost.

Poptart and White Rose charged forward, leading a few squads of men to help push back the attackers. Poptart's lightsaber sent back many blaster bolts at the attackers as White Rose jumped into the trench, slicing one of Tirek's officers through the chest. They looked up and saw a group of star fights take off into orbit, Dusk and Moonlight leading them. Some fighters broke off and began shooting down Tirek's bombers, giving Luna's troops some breathing room from the bombing attacks. Sombra's tanks continued firing on the trenches, with Poptart and White Rose deflecting each blast to the best of their abilities. Many of the shots flew back and hit the tanks, knocking them out of the battle.

As the battle turned, a massive wave of darkness swept over the battlefield as Sombra's infantry parted, revealing Sombra himself. His double bladed lightsaber ignited as he walked over to the front line, choking one of the Equestrian officers that he had captured in the first attack. As the officers neck snapped, the Equestrians felt a chill go down their spines, knowing that this battle was now about to go against them. Sombra's infantry charged once again, firing as they went. Sombra himself charged forward, swinging his lightsaber down at Poptart. White Rose climbed out of the trench, attempting to strike Sombra from behind, only for him to deflect her attack. The three continued to duel as Luna's forces were beginning to be pushed back into the city. Sombra soon used the force and pushed Poptart into a nearby tree, knocking the knight out. He then turned to White Rose, using the force to choke her, lifting her in the air before throwing her into the same tree, knocking her out.

"Now for the city itself," Sombra said, deactivating his saber. "Luna, you will be mine. Hmm, I sense another strong force user with her. Might as well capture both." Sombra smiled as he walked into the city streets, using the force to bring down some of the buildings, damaging the city. All Sombra wanted to do was cause terror in the civilian population, causing their fear to fuel his powers. He found Trilby leading one family to the shelter. He ignited his blade and threw it at the family, slicing the adults in half. The children ran to the shelter as Sombra pulled his saber back, Trilby turning to face him. Trilby charged at Sombra, trying to distract him from the civilians, only to be pushed into a building before Sombra used the force to bring one of the walls on top of him. Trilby saw what was happening and used the force to keep the rubble from killing him, pushing it away as Sombra continued his trek to the palace.

Trilby attempted to rise, but fell down, his legs not able to move. He used the force to sense what was wrong, soon realizing that his leg was broken. He could only watch in horror as Sombra used the force and jumped to the palace using the rooftops of the houses, killing anyone that stood in his way. Civilians were cut in half while soldiers were thrown off buildings or stabbed with Sombra's blades. Even the ones that surrendered were killed, either by choke or Sombra's use of Force Storm, shocking many of the Equestrian defenders, leaving nothing of them on the battlefield than a pile of ash.

As Sombra made it to the balcony of the palace, he walked into the room, trying to sense where Luna and this other force user were hiding. Just as he took a few more steps into the center of the room, he heard the igniting of two lightsabers. He turned and ignited his own, just as a silver and pink blade swung down on him.

"Not very Jedi to attack me in the back," Sombra taunted, grinning at the sight of Luna and Light. "You two will be coming with me. I mostly need Luna, but you my dear will make a fine apprentice for me."

Light shuddered at the thought of being this evil man's apprentice. Luna tried to push Sombra away, only for him to lift his hand and use the force to start choking her. Light attempted to intervene, only for Sombra to do the same. Both were now captured by the Sith Lord. His transport arrived just outside the balcony, as he walked towards it, levitating both women behind him. His troopers put them in chains as the shuttle took off to the space battle above the planet. The shuttle arrived in the hangar of the flagship, far away from the battle.

Sombra walked down the ramp as the shuttle landed, turning to a nearby officer.

"Have the fleet jump to hyperspace!" he commanded. "I want out of here before any reinforcements arrive."

"We can't jump, sir," the officer replied. Sombra turned to the officer and ignited his blade, the red blade going through the officer's stomach. The soldiers stepped back, the helmets hiding the shock on their faces. All the officer could do was stare in horror before the blade was withdrawn from his stomach, collapsing to the ground as he let out his final breath.

"Does anyone want to say that we can't make our escape back to our home planet now?" Sombra asked, his fingers letting a small bit of lightning form on their tips. Before anyone else could reply, he turned on the communicator and set it to broadcast to the planet below and the Equestrian fleet.

"This is King Sombra of the Tirek Empire," he began. "I have captured your Princess. Lower your interdictor shields now or I will kill Princess Luna and bombard this planet to dust."

Sombra deactivated the communication before walking to the bridge, the guards dragging Luna and Light along. One soldier took his gun and hit Light in the back.

"Move it, Equestrian Scum," he ordered. Light turned to look at the soldiers before continuing the walk to the bridge. The doors to the bridge opened as Sombra watched as some of the Equestrian fleet was starting to fall, its smaller defense ships no match against Sombra's massive battleships. Sombra could only smile as he thought about what he could do to the planet below when alarms started blaring throughout the ship.

"Sir," an officer began. "We've got a massive Equestrian fleet incoming!"

Sombra turned to the battle, watching as hundreds of Equestrian ships jumped out of hyperspace in front of his fleet. The Equestrian ships wasted no time and opened fire on the nearest Tirek ships, many shots aiming for the bridges, knocking out the ships and causing many to explode. Equestrian fighters and bombers took off from the hangars, engaging Sombra's fighters. While Sombra's pilots were numerous and many other fighters using a droid brain, the Equestrian pilots were known for their skills, many of them being led by the Equestrian knights, giving them a massive edge in the battles.

Guardian Shield led Ghost Squadron to the nearest command vessel of the ground invasion, dodging laser fire as they charged forward. Three members of the squadron broke off, attacking the control arrays, cutting off command of some of the ground forces, while the rest charged to the bridge, opening up with their lasers, eventually destroying the bridge, causing the ship to explode in a fireball. Ghost Squadron moved on to the frigates, clearing a path as they went to the flagship, allowing two more squadrons and a group of transports to make their way to the enemy flagship, hoping to win the battle.

Two fighters flew past one of the lead Equestrian cruisers, both banking a hard left before diving down into the fight, leading their squadrons into the fight, flying effortlessly past the ships, attacking the bridges of the invasion fleet's ships, knocking many of them out. The lead fighters straightened out, their fighters forming up ready for battle.

"Ready, Hope?" Crimson asked, leading Strike Squadron on the right.

"I'm with you, Crimson," Hope answered, leading Gold Squadron. They pushed at full throttle, blasting any Tirek fighters in their path, the fighters breaking off to engage their targets, allowing for the troop transports to make a beeline for the hangar of the flagship. As the first transports landed in the hangar, Hope's fighter flew in, blasting at the enemy forces before landing, jumping out and joining the battle, his green blade deflecting blaster fire back at the ship defenders. Other defenders tried to sneak behind Hope, only for Crimson's fighter to start blasting into the hanger, forcing them to find cover.

Crimson jumped out of his fighter, slicing one of the defenders down the chest, before turning to another one and deflecting his blaster bolt back at his head, killing the soldier. Crimson and Hope made their way towards one another, blocking fire as they went, knowing that together, they could fight their way through the enemy. Crimson's blue and Hope's green were working in tandem with one another, doing what they could to draw fire on themselves to protect their marines. The Equestrian Marines ran out of their gunships, finding cover and blasting away at Tirek's forces, finding their mark as most were attacking Crimson and Hope.

As the last of the defenders fell, Crimson and Hope deactivated their blades as they met up with their forces, preparing for the push into the ship.

"R16," Crimson began. "Check for any Equestrian prisoners on this ship." Having been told by Dusk Chaser that Sombra had taken Luna hostage, Crimson and Hope decided to see who else that Sombra might've captured. Hope tried to sense if anyone else was there, only for the darkness to cloud his senses.

"Beep beep be ep," R16 replied, moving over to the terminal. As he plugged into the network and brought out a holo list of the names, Hope's blood went cold. While only two names were on the list, he knew they had to hurry and get to the prisoners.

"Hope take your group and free Light," Crimson ordered. "When you're done, get Light out of here. I'll try to distract Sombra long enough to get Luna out. We need to get out of here before this ship gets blasted to nothing."

"Alright", Hope nodded. "May the force be with you, Crimson."

"And you, Hope," Crimson replied. Both groups gathered their equipment, R16 going with Crimson and R23 going with Hope, the loyal astromechs determined to help their owners rescue the ones they care about. The Marines, ready to stop Tirek's forces and protect Equestria, went with Hope, as Crimson said that he would be a distraction for the enemy to get everyone out. Only two Marines went with Crimson in this fight.

As Hope began marching down the main hallway, his lightsaber deflecting blaster shots back at the enemy forces, he used the force to push away many of Tirek's forces, even throwing his lightsaber, having it curve back and slice many of the defenders in the chest. Hope's Marines were clearing out the rooms as they went, many of them being empty as Hope was killing most of the defenders. Hope was being driven by only one desire. To find Light and get her off this ship.

Just when Hope turned down the next corridor, he saw Light, her hands cuffed behind her back, with a group of soldiers, one of which had just hit her with the stock of his gun. As Light collapsed, Hope raised his left hand and began to use the force to choke the soldier that hit the person he cared for. The Marines arrived and began blasting the remaining soldiers as the one that was being choked was thrown back against the wall. Hope walked towards the soldier and brought his blade to his chest.

"Any last words?" Hope asked, ready to kill his enemy. As the soldier was about to reach for his blaster, Hope shoved the lightsaber's blade through his heart, the soldier's eyes widening as he felt his life leave his body. The Equestrian Marines charged forward, determined to clear any remaining enemy resistance ahead of them, allowing Hope to help Light up and check her for any more injuries.

Hope began to help Light up, hoping that she would be ok. Light grabbed onto Hope, holding him close to her. Light stared into Hope's blue eyes, before forcing her lips onto Hope's, causing Hope to freeze. His eyes widened in shock, not expecting the kiss. As Light continued to hold Hope close to her, Hope began to return the kiss, feeling that Light felt the same for him as he felt for her.

As they broke the kiss, Hope pulled Light away from the fighting, as the marines began to return to their position, all of them making a break for the transports.

"Thanks for coming for me," Light said, as Hope continued to guide her to the transport.

"You knew that I would save you," Hope laughed, remembering all the times that he saved her from their little trips onto the Naboo plains when running into the more hostile wildlife. As they reached the hanger, Hope helped Light onto one of the transports and then went to his fighter. R23, who had been communicating with R16 on how the rescue had been going, activated his thrusters and went to his spot on the fighter, allowing Hope and half of the transports to take off back to Hope's flagship to continue the battle.

Meanwhile, Crimson was marching down the hall to an elevator to an observation platform where Sombra was watching the battle with his hostage. So far, he and his two Marines hadn't run into any resistance, but they kept their guard up in case an ambush was ready for them. R16 was rolling behind them, scanners picking up any chatter from both friend and foe alike.

"Beep bip Beep Ooop" R16 whistled, Crimson looking back at his droid.

"That's good news," Crimson said. "If Hope can get back to his ship, then he can coordinate the battle and help get everything ready to help the capital after."

"Sir," one of the marines began. "I can see the elevator. Scanners aren't picking up any lifeforms nearby. If it's alright with you, we'll stay here and guard the entrance."

"Granted." Crimson replied. Crimson and R16 moved to the elevator and opened the door. As they walked in, Crimson closed his eyes, taking a few deep breaths. He knew that he wouldn't be a match for Sombra on his own, but maybe he could get Luna free and buy her time to get off the ship. If Crimson could keep Sombra distracted, even if he died, Luna would be able to lead the war effort in their sector and push back the enemy forces all the way back to their capital if they were lucky.

The elevator ride soon came to an end as the door opened, allowing Crimson and R16 to enter the room overlooking the observation platform. The battle was raging all around them as fighters sped past the windows. Crimson watched as Lunar Strike wiped out two enemy frigates, both exploding in a massive ball of fire. He looked down and saw Luna strapped to a chair, watching the battle. Crimson jumped down, walking over to Luna, using the force to release the straps on her chair.

Luna turned around and saw Crimson walking towards her, smiling that she was ok. She got up and ran over to him, holding him as she got to him.

"You ok?" Crimson asked.

"We need to get out of here," Luna replied. "Sombra will be back in a few minutes."

"Too late," a voice said. They turned and saw Sombra walking towards them, his lightsaber activated. Crimson stood in front of Luna and brought out his own lightsaber, his blue blade shining brightly compared to Sombra's blood red blade. Sombra sent a wave of lightning at the two only for Crimson to bring his blade up to absorb it. As the remaining lightning was absorbed, Sombra ran at Crimson, only for Crimson to stop the blade from striking. Luna watched as Crimson blocked each blow, using his skills from all the practice that all her knights did.

"Luna!" Crimson yelled. "Get out of here!" Crimson barely blocked a second lightsaber that Sombra brought out. Luna ran to the side as Crimson was being pushed back, making sure to stay far away from Sombra. Luna turned back and saw that Sombra was using her silver lightsaber as well as his blood red one, keeping Crimson on the defensive. While Crimson could handle a single opponent with a double bladed lightsaber, he was at a disadvantage against basically three sabers at once. Sombra however had trained for years with his style and could call upon the dark side to almost its fullest extent.

For Luna, she could only watch as Crimson was being pushed to his limit while Sombra was barely breaking a sweat. Sombra was pushing Crimson against a wall, meaning Crimson wouldn't be able to run away. Luna soon understood what Crimson was doing. He was buying her time to escape and get to safety. While she understood his meaning behind it, she refused to let him sacrifice himself.

"Ahhh!" A voice cried out. Luna watched in horror as Sombra was able to strike Crimson in the leg and used her own saber to slice near his eye. The same eye that Deceit had struck at before. As Crimson collapsed on the ground, Sombra brought Luna's silver blade over his head ready to strike.

Before he could, he felt the lightsaber being pulled out of his hand. He turned to see Luna igniting the blade and charged at Sombra. Sombra was barely able to block the strike when he felt himself being thrown across the room. Luna looked down as Crimson tried to stand, his eyes steeled with determination to keep going. As he stood straight, he fell on his right knee, still feeling the injury. Luna went over to him and helped him up, helping him limp from the fight. Sombra got back up and jumped at them.

Just as he was about to strike, a purple lightsaber blocked him as a lilac lightsaber swung at his legs, injuring the Sith Lord. Luna and Crimson watched as two more knights joined the fight, covering the two.

"Spike!" Luna exclaimed. "How did you and Sweetie Belle get here?"

"Because I brought them," another voice said, just as more knights jumped down between them and Sombra. Luna and Crimson smiled as they realized who they were. It was Twilight and her entire group of Knights. "We arrived just about an hour ago with our fleet to discover that some knights disobeyed orders to head for the capital."

"Just be glad that we knew that those orders came from Nightshade and not Celestia," Rarity continued. "Celestia sent Twilight a message to help out here since Luna's fleet was engaged elsewhere. I guess we got here just in time to see Sombra's fleet be destroyed by the Lunar fleet arriving from its own battle."

Just as Rarity finished talking, Sombra unleashed a massive amount of lightning, hitting Spike and knocking him back towards the wall, causing the young apprentice to fall unconscious from hitting his head on the steel walls.

"Spike!" Sweetie Belle cried out, running over to her friend as the other apprentices ran over to check on their comrade.

"That's it!" Twilight yelled. "Your reign of terror is at an end Sombra!" Twilight's lavender blade ignited as she charged forward, Sombra barely able to block each blow that Twilight unleashed. Twilight was not holding back, determined to make this villain pay for every single Equestrian he had killed. This time, Sombra wouldn't be able to escape.

After a few more blows, Twilight's lightsaber soon found its mark, the blade going through Sombra's stomach, forcing the Sith to drop his own blade. Sombra's eyes looked over to the Equestrians standing before him, all of their blades ignited. It was then that Sombra realized that the Equestrian Republic would soon win this war. The different factions all standing together, knowing that combined, they could overcome Tirek's forces and defeat him once and for all.

As Twilight pulled her lightsaber out of Sombra's gut, he collapsed to the ground, his eyes closing, never to open again. Twilight stepped back, catching her breath after the fight, walking over to the others. Spike was starting to come to, while Crimson was starting to be able to stand on his own.

"Crimson," a comlink went off. Crimson pulled out his comlink.

"What is it, Hope?" Crimson asked.

"We're about to attack the enemy flagship," Hope replied. "Get out of there before our ships start their attack."

"On it," Crimson put his comlink away before pulling a fallen beam from the railing. "We need to get moving. If what Hope said is true, then we'll only have a few minutes to get out of here. R16, get all elevators on this level activated!"

R16 whistled as he went over to the elevator controls and got to work. The massive group moved up the stairs, Spike and Crimson having to be assisted as much as they could. As they got to the top, the elevators had just opened their doors, allowing for them to make their escape. Luna helped Crimson into one with R16 and Fluttershy, who was asked by Luna to help treat Crimson's injury on his leg, allowing Crimson to move faster.

"This may hurt a bit," Fluttershy said, applying pressure with the force on the leg. Standing up after it had been stabbed had made it worse, meaning it would take more than just a standard force heal to heal it. Crimson nodded, biting down on the side of his mouth, doing his best to ignore the pain. The pressure soon put everything back into place, allowing both Luna and Fluttershy to heal the leg the rest of the way, meaning that they could move faster.

"Never do something foolish like that again," Luna told Crimson, her eyes staring right into Crimson's soul with anger at what he had done.

"Sorry," Crimson replied, not knowing what else to do. "I didn't expect reinforcements to arrive when they did so I thought I could at least buy you time to get away and stop Sombra before heading back to the capital and help your sister."

"It was still foolish," Fluttershy stated. "You should've gone in with more knights. Where's the ones that joined you at Kamino?"

"Stone went on to the capital with Ember's ships," Crimson began, just as the elevator doors opened. "Hope returned with me and went to search for Light while Guardian was leading his squadron into the battle. As for the ones on the planet, I have no idea." The group met with the two marines that had stayed behind to guard the entrance and ran for the hangar, where more marines and transports were waiting. As they arrived, Crimson and R16 went to their fighter while everyone else boarded their transport ships. They soon left the hanger, as Crimson met up with Strike Squadron and turned back to the flagship, firing at the weapon systems and the bridge, causing the bridge to explode in a massive ball of flames as Lunar Strike and Solar Fury attacked the hull of the ship, causing it to break apart, ending the remaining hopes of the invasion fleet.

"All of the remaining enemy ships are starting to surrender," Hope said through everyone's comlinks. "Crimson, when you're back on Lunar Strike, we'll head for the capital. It's time to stop the enemy once and for all."

"On my way," Crimson replied, leading his group back to his ship, just as Luna's transport also arrived at the hanger. As Crimson got out of his fighter, he noticed that his men were exhausted. He knew that they could fight another battle, but they would need time to rest, even though they were given very little time to really get away from this battle.

"We better get moving," Luna said, walking over to Crimson. Crimson nodded and they went over to the lifts that would take them to the bridge. As the door closed, Luna grabbed Crimson's hand and grabbed it, Crimson squeezing her hand, helping to comfort her after the events of the day. They let go as the door opened, both walking onto the command bridge. The crews of the invasion fleet were being transported onto the planet into camps while the ships were being towed away, allowing Luna's engineers to try and learn about these ships, something that Blueblood had prevented back at Kamino.

"Make all haste to the capital!" Crimson ordered. "Launch all fighters when we arrive and blow a hole right to the enemy flagship."

"All communications have indicated that Celestia is holding the line on the capital itself, but Blueblood has yet to arrive," one of the officers mentioned. "Stone had just arrived and was taking a heavy beating, but his ships were holding. Nightshade and his knights had vanished with no trace, so it's going to be chaos when we arrive."

"Sounds like something Discord would enjoy," Luna remarked. "All ships, make the jump."

"Right away," the officers replied. Crimson and Luna walked to the viewports of the bridge as the fleet made the jump to the capital, Twilight's fleet joining them. It was now a do or die situation. Either they reach the capital in time and stop the attack, or the Equestrian Republic was doomed.
