Just like his other late nights spent binge drinking and blacking out, the next morning Blitzo awoke on the couch with a massive hangover.
He began to sit up on the couch, holding his head as it ached.
"Ugh, God, why the hell do I do this to myself?" Blitzo groaned, rubbing at his bleary eyes.
As his eyes readjusted he took a look at his surroundings. On the coffee table in front of him sat his phone, an old fashioned glass and the liquor from last night.
"Fuck, if I texted M and M something embarrassing I swear..." Blitzo picked up his phone, unlocked it and opened up his messages app to reveal the same old conversations he had.
"Oh thank Satan."
In an old conversation it showed that Stolas was typing something.
"Damnit. What does he want now?"
He opened up the conversation and waited for Stolas to respond.
"Good morning Blitzo," the text from Stolas read.
More waiting and then another text appeared.
"I understand if you don't wish to respond to me this morning. I'll stay out of your hair until the next full moon."
That message left Blitzo with a sinking feeling in his stomach.
Shit, shit, shit! How the fuck do I fix this? What the hell do I do? I can't just fuck him and make everything better.
He read and re-read that message wondering what to send before mustering up the courage to start typing away.
He typed several different long winded messages, beginning one before backing out and erasing it over and over.
His brows furrowed before he turned off his phone and shoved it in his pocket.
Blitzo stood up from the couch and headed out of the apartment, taking his keys to the van.
If he was gonna do this shit, he was doing it his way.
He got into the driver's seat of the car, turned on the ignition and sped over to Stolas's house.
Once he was there, he got out of the car, slammed the door shut and went for the front door.
Blitzo jiggled the doorknob.
"Shit."
It was locked.
He dug into his pockets, fishing for something to pick the lock.
"Come on, come on."
He pulled out a bobby pin.
Blitzo felt around for the pins to get into the right position until the lock clicked open. He slammed open the door and rushed inside, searching high and low for Stolas until he finally checked the master bedroom.
Stolas stepped out of the bathroom to see Blitzo completely disheveled and breathing heavily.
"Stolas...I-" Blitzo said, panting and out of breath. "I wanted- *pant* *cough*" Blitzo started to keel over with his hands on his knees, attempting to catch his breath.
"Blitzo! Did you break in here?"
"Yeah," Blitzo responded, now recomposing himself.
"You could've just knocked you know?"
"Oh yeah..."
"What is it you were saying?"
"Right. I..wanted to talk to you."
"About?"
"About...a lot. Mostly last night. Sweet Satan, I need to sit down."
Stolas shut the bathroom door behind him and the door to the bedroom before sitting down at the velvety red loveseat near the bookcase. He patted the spot next to him.
Blitzo rolled his eyes and scoffed a bit before sitting down next to Stolas.
"I'm surprised that you showed up here, especially after last night," Stolas began.
"Yeah. I guess it's just...that text you sent earlier."
"Oh! Right...I just thought that..well...after all that you said..that this would just be how you always said it was...A business affair."
A moment of silence swept by the two and in that moment Blitzo realized how nervous he felt as the adrenaline from busting in to the palace drained away.
"Did you really mean everything you said to me?"
"Kinda. I was drunk off my ass though."
"Did you mean what you said about our relationship? How it's going to end up like the others?"
Blitzo's eyes darted up at Stolas.
"Yeah..."
He's really twisting the knife now.
"Then why do you still pursue it?"
"I don't know. Why not?"
"Blitzo if you really loathe me that much-" Stolas's voice rose.
"I don't loathe you, Stolas."
"So why? Why keep up this charade, this transactional, fake love?!"
"What if I don't want it to be fake?"
That question stopped the duo in their tracks.
"Shit. I shouldn't have come here. I have to go," Blitzo said hastily as he started to stand up from his seat.
"No Blitzo, please." Stolas grabbed Blitzo by the wrist and sat him back down. "Tell me, what did you really want to say last night...about why you've been avoiding me?"
"I guess...what I meant to say is...I love you ...and I don't know what to do or...how to feel about it. And when I get in love, or at least what I think it is...I push people away and never let them in."
Blitzo slowly moved his hand towards Stolas's before enthusiastically grabbing his hand.
"But..." Blitzo turned his body to Stolas, now with a fearful yet wanting gleam in his eyes.
"I think...I'd want to let you in."
"Blitzo..." Stolas had now turned his body towards Blitzo, the pair now gazing into each other's eyes.
A wave of dread washed over Blitzo.
Is this too much? Did I push this thing too far? Does he hate my guts now? Does he hate me?!
Stolas started to laugh.
"It took you long enough."
The wave of dread Blitzo felt turned to that of euphoria as he started to laugh along with Stolas.
"So...does that mean we're boyfriends now?" Blitzo interrupted through the laughter.
"Yes. I think everyone except us figured that out already."
Blitzo laughed and playfully shoved Stolas.
"Hey! I don't think it was that obvious."
"I think it was pretty obvious to me, Blitzo."
"Of course it was obvious to you! How long have you been pining after me? An odd 20-something years?"
"Maybe~."
"I'll have to tell the rest of IMP. They'll probably be jealous that I have a whole ass prince as a boyfriend." Blitzo cupped Stolas's chin with his hand and rubbed the side of his face.
"Oh really? Now don't I feel special."
"I'd say so Stolas."
Blitzo closed his eyes and turned his head as he brought Stolas in for a tender kiss.
"I'd say so."
Notes: That's all folks! This fic was really something. It was difficult to write in some parts, especially trying to string along plot threads to the eventual conclusion. It was also in a sense, a coping mechanism after a falling out I had with a friend after divulging my intrusive thoughts to them. I feel like it shows in some parts, especially in Blitzo's breakdown in chapter 9. Anyway, I think next I'm gonna write a one-shot between Chaz and Blitzo so keep your eyes peeled ;).
