Brenda

When I went to pull away, I felt his arms hold me in place. I didn't mind the gesture one bit. This kiss felt more passionate than the one before. More urgent. A plus was that there wasn't even a hint of alcohol on his breath, which meant he hasn't drank today. That little detail I appreciated very much.

When we finally pulled away we were a bit breathless, that was a make out session to remember.

"Ready to try again?" He asked me and I was still mesmerized by him.

"Yes." I responded too dreamily.

The next few tries were good and bad some I took the wave by storm and others I fell before the wave really started. Dylan never let me feel an ounce of shame again he kept encouraging me.

"You think you got the next wave by yourself?" We were walking back to shore, his board still on the sand.

"Yeah, thank you for this Dylan, I really needed it."

He turned to me then and stood in front of me. As he inched closer I met him the rest of the way and our lips connected again for a sweet kiss. I caressed his face as we kissed then it was over, and I felt the emptiness he left behind as he went for his surfboard.

We went out to the waves side by side then as a wave came we created space as not to bump into one another then I hopped on my board.

This wave was a bigger one than the last I had done and when it overtook me I fell almost instantly into the water. I swam and swam to the surface when I finally got air. I heard Dylan.

"Brenda are you okay?" He was swimming to me.

It took me some time to ease my breath this time. So I nodded to reassure him when he was next to me now. He put an arm to my back and rubbed.

"Want to take a break? That was a pretty big wave." I could sense he was worried and I felt my insides melt at that.

"Yeah I'll take a break but you keep going Dylan this was your first wave." I told him grabbing my board.

"Are you sure?"

"Yes, I'll meet you in a few minutes." I smiled at him then swam back to shore.

I unclipped the board at my ankle and took a seat on the wet sand. Dylan was already on a wave, watching him do it with such ease made me think he was born for this.

Sitting here watching him made me realize how worn out the water made me. Maybe I could take a longer break while he enjoyed the waves. I stood then and went to lay on a chair near the dry sand.

Dylan

Brenda suggesting that I continue taking on the waves was just what I needed. Here in the ocean I felt all the negativity of my life go away. Wherever my dad was didn't matter, school and the fake people there didn't matter, only this feeling of me and the ocean being one. This is all I craved in life. The one constant I have in my life is surfing.

After a couple of more waves I join Brenda on the sand.

"Are you enjoying it?" I ask when I take a seat next to her.

"Yes, I see why you love surfing. I'm not as good as you but it's fun to do."

"For me it's not only fun, it's an escape." Maybe it was her that made me feel comfortable enough to share that about me. She makes me feel that I can share things about me, and she won't judge me. Something very un- Beverly Hills.

Then just because I missed her lips I kissed her which turned into making out.

After we separated from each other I stared into her eyes. Her eyes were some of the most beautiful eyes I've seen.

"Want to go grab something to eat?" I ask.

"Actually yeah I'm kinda hungry." She smiles then I hop up and offer her my hand.

We head over to the seaside restaurant and order some food. She grabs a burger so I do the same.

As we eat I get into a playful mood and stick a fry to her mouth, she laughs and does the same to me.

So we stay in that playful fun vibe for the rest of the meal, it's after the meal that I know we have to head home.

"Want to catch some more waves before we leave?" I ask and she nods so we go back to the ocean.

She grabs her board and I grab mine. When we get to the ocean I grab her hand and we walk out into the waves together.

Later were at the Walsh's front door.

"Dylan I had such a great time today," She says giving me a smile.

"Me too." Is all that I say, then I go in for the goodbye kiss. It's a short sweet kiss.

"Goodnight Bren." I tell her with a smile.

"Goodnight Dylan."

As I walked back to my car I hear her call out, "Dylan."

I turn and she comes to me.

"Will I see you again?"

"Yes, as long as you want to."

"I do. Goodnight." She smiles and kisses me one last time before she runs back to her door, then I get to my car, get in and drive away. All the while going home I realized I didn't once feel the urge to drink today.
