Author's Notes: Snape will be a little out of his element here. Like I said in the very beginning of the series. I wanted to make Snape a little softer than what he is. I do promise this isn't a Snape/Harry thing. More of a family bond like Sirius is to Harry.

Chapter 29: I Want The Truth

Harry didn't want to do this, but he had no other choice. Moody wasn't helping him. Ron could care less and Hermione was still not talking to him. Not to mention Dumbledore and McGonagall were no help.

So in the afternoon on the day before the final task, Harry knocked on Snape's office door.

"Enter." Snape said.

"Ah Potter. What can I do for you?"

Sighing, Harry looked at his feet. He admired his new trainers that Dumbledore got for him. They were comfortable. Not too tight or not too big. They were red and gold like Gryffindor colors.

Snape raised a dark eyebrow. "Did you come here to tell me about your shoes or are you needing something, boy?"

Sighing, Harry lifted his head. He centered himself before walking all the way in and up to Snape's desk.

"I want the truth." Harry said.

"The truth? About what?"

"Everything!" Harry raised his voice. He didn't meant to. "I want to know why Karkaroff is so obsessed with needing to talk to you about the mark on his arm. Why you care so much about Hermione and I? What should I prepare for for the last task?"

By now Snape was standing in front of Harry. Normally he wouldn't do this, but this was Lilly's son. He promised her that he would keep him safe. So he pulled Harry into a hug. Holding him as he cried.

Harry was taken aback by the hug. He never got along with the man. He hated him since day one. However, he couldn't hold back the tears falling as Snape held him.

"There's so much I cannot tell you. However, I will help you with what you need for the final task. I can talk to your father about me being there instead of Moody. I never did like the guy anyway." Snape explained.

Harry couldn't speak. All he did was nod his head.
