A/N: I just want to say that please, if you are being abused in any way or you know someone who is, do not keep to yourself. Tell someone you trust and get help. Whether that is getting a therapist, telling an adult or reporting the abuse to the police, let someone know that this is going on. I don't care what you think or what you've been told, no one deserves to be hurt like that.

On a happier, less depressing note (sorry, I've been watching too much Shane Dawson recently. And let me tell you, his backstory makes me cry almost every time) I wanted to ask if I should continue putting this arc on Jackie Frost or if I should make a new story that is only this arc. Leave a review letting me know. Let's see if this actually works this time.

Here is the next chapter, with the Guardians making an appearance.

Sandy sat in the sleigh shaking his head. He could hear Tooth yelling Jack's name over and over. Good thing that time was frozen, because he was certain all of Burgess would hear her if they were normal.

There were also flowers all over the place from Bunny's rabbit holes. He was popping up everywhere, seeing if Jack was hidden in the area.

But he and North had stopped looking almost an hour ago. Jack was simply gone. They weren't sure why but they were all fairly certain who was responsible. Pitch. He must have somehow used the crystals to transport Jack. But was that through time? Forward? Backward? Was she even alive still? Jack was strong, but she was still an Elemental spirit, and she wouldn't be able to take on Pitch by herself. She may have stood a better chance than most, but Pitch was still the more powerful being.

North finally called out to the other Guardians. "Bunny! Tooth! Please, we need to return to the Pole."

Bunny hopped out of one of his rabbit holes and looked at North as if he was speaking a different language. "What, and just give up? You want us to just abandon Jackie?

"Of course not. But she is gone, and there is nothing here that will help us find her. We need to talk to Manny, see if he can help us. There is nothing left for us to do here."

Tooth looked like she was about to start crying. Her poor little Sweet Tooth, gone. Just like that. "North, what if Pitch has her? Who knows what he could be doing!"

Sandy floated over and gave Tooth a hug. North's eyes were shiny with unfallen tears, but he held them back. "We'll find her, Tooth. We won't just abandon her. And we cannot abandon our faith in her either. She is strong, you know that. Wherever she is, she will hold on until we can help."

Once he was sure no one was going to protest, North started up the sleigh. Everyone climbed in and they shot back towards the Pole.

It was almost an hour before returned to her home. When she walked in, half frozen, she thought her mother was going to through a fit. Jack just simply nodded wearily as her mother raved about stupidity and about how if Jack was determined to kill herself, would she stop doing it in ways that gave her mother heart attacks. Then Jack was told to change into one of her mother's dresses and sat by the fire to warm up.

Olivia was in the kitchen helping her mother with dinner, but every so often she would glance over at her sister as if she was scared Jack would disappear. Jack always smiled at her reassuringly and gave a small wave, which would cause Ollie's face to light up.

When the pair had finished cooking, Olivia rushed over to Jack and gave her a plate of food. Then she grabbed her own plate and plopped down next to her sister, eating happily. Jack was in no mood to eat anything, but she forced herself to swallow some of the food to appease her sister. After a while, her mother came and sat on the bed with the sisters as well, just smiling at her daughters.

It seemed almost too perfect. And Jack knew exactly why. Her father wasn't in the house for dinner, which generally meant that he would be out drinking. Which meant that this peaceful supper with her sister and mother was the calm before the storm.

Sure enough, a few hours after they had finished dinner (or she thought it was a few hours. Stupid 1700s didn't have clocks) they heard Jack's father coming towards the house, sounding plenty drunk. He was even holding an empty mug.

This was a routine Jack remembered only too well. She turned to her sister. "Go into the bedroom, Ollie. Now."

Her little sister's eyes were wide. "No, Jackie, I don't want to-"

"Do it!" she snapped. Ollie looked very upset, but didn't argue any further. Jack looked at her mother. "You need to go too."

"Jacklyn, you are hurt. I can't just leave you out here by yourself."

"If Ollie sees you hurt, how do you think that will affect her?" Jack hissed. "She's used to seeing me hurt, I get hurt both by father and by my own stupidity all the time. You're the one that needs to comfort her after I get beaten. She needs you."

"You need me too," her mother said, tears in her eyes.

Jack forced herself to swallow down her own tears. If she let a single tear fall, she would turn into a sobbing mess, clinging to her mother. That wouldn't help anyone. "I'm seventeen. I can handle myself. Go"

She and her mother had a stare-off, but finally her mother retreated into the bedroom with Olivia. Jack let out the breath she had been holding and tried to focus on staying calm. To her, she hadn't been beaten in years but she still remembered the pain and fear that came with it. That was the worst bit; the fear. And as much as she wanted to keep her mother and sister safe, she was scared. She didn't want to get hurt by her father again.

He stumbled towards her. While Jack was debating on whether to fight back or move out of the way, he reached her and hit his mug into her shoulder. The mug didn't break but it did send Jack flying out of her bed with a new bruise where she had been hit.

"WHY DID YOU COME BACK?" He roared. His words were very slurred "THE LAST THING I WANTED WAS TO HAVE MY USELESS, MOUTHY, UGLY DAUGHTER TO SHOW UP AGAIN AFTER BEING DEAD!"

'You have no idea how true that statement actually is,' Jack thought bitterly. She imagined he meant that she had almost died but didn't.

His large hands grabbed her hair and pulled her to her feet. Jack didn't make a sound. Between her being hit when she was alive, beaten up by other spirits when she was dead and attacked by Pitch when she was a Guardian, her pain tolerance was very high.

"WHAT AM I SUPPOSED TO DO WITH YOU? THE ADULTS HATE YOU BECAUSE YOU ARE RUDE! YOU AREN'T A BOY SO YOU ARE USELESS AS A WORKER! AND WHAT MAN WILL EVER WANT A GIRL LIKE YOU? YOU'RE THE SKINNIEST KID IN TOWN, YOUR HAIR IS STRINGY AND YOU ARE ALWAYS FILTHY! SO WHAT AM I SUPPOSED TO DO WITH YOU?" With every sentence, he smacked her across the face. He threw her against the wall when he was finished speaking.

In all honesty, she really should have kept her mouth shut. That's how she used to do it. But for the past three hundred years, that's exactly what she had always done; talk back and insult whoever is hurting her. She spat out some of the blood in her mouth (she bit her tongue when she got thrown) and gave her father a little smirk. "Didn't realized you paid so much attention to my looks, father. So glad you care."

He was stunned for a minutes, not used to hearing his daughter say anything while he beat on her. But as soon as he recovered, he swung his arm back and smashed the mug as hard as he could on his daughter's head. It exploded into glass shards and Jack crumbled to the ground. Surprisingly she was still conscience, but barely. She could feel the glass shard embedded in her head. She felt a few strong kicks to her chest, which probably cracked a rib, then her father walked away.

She heard her mother and sister come out of the room after he had gone in there and most likely passed out on the bed. Her mother gasped when she saw Jack.

"Olivia, stay behind me."

"Why?"

"Do not argue with me. You stay behind me and keep your head down. Then crawl into your bed and keep your eyes closed until you fall asleep."

"But Mother, I want to see Jackie!"

"No! You listen to me, Olivia Emma Overland. Go to your bed now. And keep your head down."

Ollie must have listened because Jack could hear feet shuffling past her but no gasp of shock from her sister. Her mother knelt beside her. "Jacklyn, can you hear me?"

Jack managed a nod.

Her mother sighed in relief. "I'm going to pick some of the glass out of your head. Try not to move, sweetheart. This is going to hurt."

She simply nodded again and kept completely still the entire time. She didn't even let out a hiss of pain. She had handled worse. And she would have to handle even more. Because that night she had made the decision. Her father was dangerous and had gotten no better than before. She couldn't just leave her mother and sister to his mercy. Her purpose in life was not to be Jack Frost, it was to protect Olivia Overland. And if that meant staying human and being beaten and freezing and starving, then that's what she was going to do.

A/N: Done! So I started that one a month ago but stopped and them a bunch of crap happened so I was in no mood for writing. I'm very sorry that took so long. And thank you all for the wonderful reviews! I have almost 40,000 views on this story! That's insane! So thank you guys so much for being supportive and putting up with my crappy upload schedule.
