Kamala rushed into the hospital, looking around frantically. She went to the desk, frantically slapping her hand on the counter.

"Excuse me, excuse me!" She called out. "I'm looking for my dad. Yusuf Khan?"

"Over here, Kamala." Her brother called out. She made her way over and hugged him tightly.

"How is he?" She asked him.

"They're pretty worried; they're saying they think it's his heart." Amir informed her as he led her towards their father's room.

"I thought they said it was an attack..."

"There was an attack outside the bank, but they're saying he collapsed afterwards." Amir told her. "They tried to get him here sooner, but there were still people outside the bank, so they needed to wait on the cops clearing them away before they could safely get in."

Kamala felt ill hearing that. It didn't take someone with a medical degree to know that the sooner someone got medical treatment, the more likely it was they would recover completely. If they did suspect it had been a heart attack, every moment that he had to wait for help was a moment he potentially didn't have. She couldn't help feeling a little anger growing inside her to imagine that people were keeping an ambulance crew from helping her dad.

As they got closer to his room, she saw some police in the hallway. Some of them near Amir's room, some stationed outside some other rooms. She could see inside, seeing people that bore the unmistakable injuries of a fight. One of them was clearly an Inhuman. The police seemed to be guarding them all, ensuring they were kept separated. She could see they were all handcuffed to their respective beds, indicating that the police were still dealing with the incident.

"They brought them here?" Kamala asked, gesturing to the rooms. She didn't know much, Amir had only mentioned that he had intervened in an attack outside the bank, but he hadn't gone into too much detail. Amir just nodded.

"All the hospitals have been busy." Amir pointed out. He didn't need to say much more. The fact was that violent incidents were becoming more and more common, and hospitals were seeing a lot more admissions as a result. "I asked why they weren't taken somewhere else, but they say that there's nowhere else, that's why all these cops are here to keep them all separated."

He could see how upset Kamala looked, and sighed. He wished that the cops could take them anywhere else. The stress couldn't possibly be good for his father, but he could see how troubled Kamala was and could already think what she was thinking.

"It's nothing to do with you." Amir assured her.

"We both know that's not true." Kamala murmured.

"He hauled bullies off me for being the kid with the funny accent and the weird food years before you were even born. Years before anyone had even heard of an Inhuman." He assured her. "He did the same with some of the other kids from the Mosque too."

Kamala didn't answer. Amir was trying to make her see that her father had always believed in helping out others when he was in a position to do so, but she still couldn't help asking herself the question if he would have gotten involved if his own daughter wasn't an Inhuman.

She got to his room and went inside, finding her mother sitting by his bedside, holding Yusuf's hand. Kamala went over, hugging her mother, before sitting by her father's side, holding his hand.

"Beta." He said softly. She held onto his hand softly. "You could have waited until after school."

She couldn't help smiling a little. Just like her dad, he'd just had a heart attack and he was still lecturing her about staying in school.

He pulled her closer, so he could place his hand on the side of her head.

"But having you here is already making me feel so much better." He assured her.

"Then that's the only place I need to be." She replied.

Meanwhile, on the Helicarrier, Bruce, Tony and Steve were all gathered around the War Table, keeping track of the latest moves from around the planet. To say that tensions were increasing would be the understatement of the century. The Inhumans had made a big play in crashing the UN Assembly. Unfortunately, if the intent was to ease tensions during a transition into the evacuation they had proposed, then it had achieved almost the opposite.

"We've received reports of attacks on AIM facilities worldwide." Tony declared as several dozen spots on the holo map lit up bright red. "Whatever we thought we knew about the capabilities of Inhumans we just learned we don't know jack shit."

"They're hitting facilities all over the world almost simultaneously with firepower that's overwhelming anything AIM throws at them in a matter of minutes." Bruce stated. "Between their combat and their transport abilities they could very well overwhelm anything that anyone in the world might be able to throw at them. I'm not even sure the Wakandans have anything that could stop them if they declared war."

"Let's just hope it doesn't come to that." Steve sighed, trying to wrap his head around everything that was happening. "T'Challa's at the UN right now, trying to calm down a whole bunch of world leaders who just got threatened by a super-power they never even knew existed until recently. They're afraid, and the last thing we need is a whole bunch of people who are afraid with direct command of the most powerful armed forces on the planet."

"We're also getting a lot of reports in from the streets. Pete's sent in a lot of information he's gotten from all his old media contacts." Tony told them. "It seems a whole lot of Inhumans are taking the fact that their big, badass brothers have just shown up to get some long overdue payback on a lot of people who gave them a lot of shit."

"I can't say many of them don't have reason to want that payback." Bruce conceded. "But all it's going to do is feed into the narrative that the Inhumans want a whole lot more than just to leave and live in peace."

"The first evacuation is in two hours in Central Park." Steve reminded them. "The first thing to do is make sure that goes off without a hitch. Thor and Jane are already in the area to make sure people keep a safe distance."

"I'm really not loving this plan." Tony said reluctantly. "A whole lot can go wrong."

"No plan it full-proof." Steve reminded him. "I watched some of the most certain of defeats turn around into a victory with just a little faith and luck."

"In the war?" Bruce asked. Steve just looked to him.

"Actually, I meant some of our battles." He replied.

In her office building, Monica was keeping track of the news reports. She hated the situation she was in, having to rely on Krieger, but with so many eyes on her; she didn't have much of a choice. Even with a whole bunch of media stations and Social Media accounts starting to swing towards trying to pressure the Select Committee into voting to exonerate her, there were still a lot of people who believed the accusations against her…largely because they were true, and so far there was no sign of the Committee either exonerating her or ending their investigation. That meant she couldn't risk anything too visible.

She kept watch as the media descended on Central Park, there to cover the first of the mass evacuations. There was a large crowd too, some there to wish those leaving a fond farewell, some voicing the opinion that it was good that they were leaving, wishing they'd take the rest of their kind with them, and some of the opinion that allowing them to leave was itself a crime, that they deserved to be punished for their crimes. All of it being barely controlled by a police cordon, there to keep everyone at a safe distance as the Inhumans had demanded.

She activated her comm-link.

"Krieger, you've got quite an audience." She told him.

"Just what you need to change a few minds." He told her. "Don't worry, the show's just about to start. The convoy is here."

"Then I guess I just need to enjoy the show." She responded.

In Central Park, Medusa was standing, waiting for the arrival of the refugees. Several vehicles arrived, being waved through the cordon by police, eager to see them go as soon as possible, before the crowd got too restless.

Some were there in support of the Inhumans, wishing them well on their journey, and hoping for the best for them. Others were there keen to see them go, and wishing that more were leaving, while others were enraged at the thought of them being allowed to leave and not facing punishment for the actions of those that had committed acts of violence in the name of their cause.

Karnak and Gorgon leapt down from one of the transports, approaching their Queen, greeting her with a respectful bow.

"Did you have many issues?" She asked.

"Some of the facilities didn't want to part with their guests." Gorgon told her. "And some communities weren't exactly sending a warm farewell to their neighbours. It was nothing that we couldn't handle."

She furrowed her brows, looking at him.

"Fear not, we kept hostilities to a minimum." Karnak assured her. "Just as you and the King have commanded."

"Good." She responded. "There may well be unpleasantness during this time, but I do not wish for us to be the ones that start it if it can be helped."

Just then, there was a bright flash of light, and Lockjaw appeared. She gestured him over stroking him gently.

"My fellow Inhumans!" She declared regally as she addressed the refugees getting off the trucks. "We understand you are afraid! You are leaving what was at one time your home and are going to a strange land to start over. Many of you are leaving behind connections, friends, communities, careers…in some cases everything you knew. Rest assured, in New Atillan you will be taken care of! My husband and I assure you of that! You have a home with us!"

She turned back towards Lockjaw.

"Alright, begin with the evacuation." She told him. "A few at a time, I don't want you to overtax yourself. There will be many more to come."

As the first group was teleported away, she stood with Karnak and Gorgon, keeping an eye on proceedings. She looked out over the crowd around the evacuation zone.

"So far, so good." She stated. "Let's just hope it stays that way."

Karnak sighed.

"You have more faith than I do, Your Highness." He stated.

High in the air, circling above the park, beyond the cloud cover, Thor and Jane were doing circuits to keep an eye over things. Tony got onto their communicators.

"Alright, how are things looking out there?" Tony asked.

"The crowds are looking restless, but so far nothing out of hand." Jane stated.

"Aye, so far cooler heads are staying their hands." Thor added.

"I still say you should have let us start a downpour." Jane added. "The evacuees wouldn't mind a bit of bad weather for a few minutes, but it would have made some of the worst elements consider staying at home."

"We're trying NOT to look like we're getting involved." Steve reminded her. "We can't be seen to be picking sides."

"It'd be rain in New York, Cap, that isn't exactly something everyone would immediately blame on us." Jane answered in return.

"You're talking to a guy who attended a Dodgers' game in the height of winter until the game was called off because of a blizzard and was still among the last people to leave the stadium." Steve answered. "I'm well aware of New York weather, but you just know some people will be looking to put two and two together."

"Dodgers' game?" Jane asked him with a smile. "Wow, I bet that must have caused a stir having Captain America in the stands."

"Actually, that was before Project Rebirth." Bucky interjected. "I remember because I was the one who had to carry his scrawny ass six blocks to the hospital because the dumbass got hypothermia."

"Alright, enough with the trip down memory lane." Steve cut them off as Jane laughed at his expense. "Just keep your distance and stay vigilant."

Meanwhile, in Exxon's main office building, Kreiger was keeping his own vigil. Seeing things starting to get heated, he smiled. This was perfect. Seeing Medusa arrive to oversee the evacuation personally was better than he could have hoped. He got onto his communicator.

"Alright, change of plan. We have a perfect target." He stated. "Firestarter, are you in position?"

On a rooftop a little way from the park, Kreiger's agent, Yelena Belova was watching with binoculars.

"I have eyes on the area." She told him. "What's the mark?"

"The one with the hair." Kreiger told her. Yelena whipped a tarpaulin off a waiting sniper rifle. Flicking it up into her hands with her foot, she lined up a shot, making calculations for the distance and conditions. The crosshairs lined up on her mark perfectly.

"Just say the word." She told him. "I have the shot."

Krieger took a sip of his whisky and smiled.

"Then it's time to start a war." He answered. "Fire when ready."

The evacuation was still going smoothly for the most part, even if people on all sides were uneasy. The Inhumans being evacuated were being teleported in groups to prevent Lockjaw draining himself too much. Gorgon went to Medusa.

"We're on the last couple of groups now." He told her. "Perhaps you should go with the next one."

"I said I would ensure the safe departure of all the evacuees." She reminded him.

"Your Highness, we have things covered here." Karnak assured her, looking up. "Not to mention our uninvited eyes in the sky are ready to move in.

"I will leave with the last group as planned." She reiterated. "It will not be much longer."

Just then, a shot rang out. Medusa felt a sharp pain, like a punch right in the stomach. She reached down, before looking to her hand, which was covered in blood. She sank to her knees, being caught by Karnak as people started to panic after the shot.

"Lockjaw, change of plans!" Karnak rushed out. "We're going to have to take the rest all at once!"

He looked up as some of the protesters broke the police cordon in the panic. He could see them coming for them in a rage. The echoes from the area made it all but impossible to locate the shot, so everyone was still confused, frightened, and angry, not knowing who had fired the opening shot.

"Gorgon, keep them at a distance!" Karnak instructed him. "Our uninvited guests are moving in to help!"

Some of the protesters were slowed by a massive gust of wind as both Thor and Jane descended, trying to keep the two sides from tearing each other apart. Karnak had relied on The Avengers being there to try and keep both sides separated. Gorgon stomped on the ground, throwing up a massive wall of earth, creating cover for them.

"What the Hell is going on?" Steve asked as all this was going down.

"Shots fired!" Jane told him. "I can't get eyes on the shooter, but both sides are ready to tear each other apart!"

"The Queen has been hit!" Thor added. Tony ran a hand through his hair.

"Shit, that's the last thing we needed!" Tony said flatly. "If the Inhumans were pissed before, there's no way they're going to let this go!"

"My thoughts exactly, this is way too much of a coincidence." Steve told him. "Buck, do you have eyes on the area?"

"I'm on the move." Bucky assured him. He had been in the area, ready to react if they got any sign of trouble. His training as the Winter Soldier gave him good instincts for where to set up an ambush. He had performed so many hits for the Red Room and for AIM that he had an instinctual grasp of where to set up a good perch. Doing a quick sweep, going through his options, he quickly started going in descending order from the perches he could find with the easiest shot.

As another couple of shots rang out, he started to home in on the area. He leapt across multiple rooftops on his way to the location.

"I've got a location." He told them. "To shoot from here, whoever it is has to be good."

"How good?" Tony asked.

"Put it this way, maybe Nat or I could make the shot." Bucky told them. He finally leapt down, landing on a rooftop right behind the shooter. He fired, knocking the rifle from Yelena's hands. She spun around, staring straight at him.

Bucky tried to cover her, but before he could do anything further, she activated a flash grenade. By the time he recovered his sight, she was already gone.

"Buck, what's going on?" Steve asked. "Bucky! BUCKY!"

"I'm fine, Cap." Bucky told him. "But the shooter's gone."

"Alright, just help the others keep things as calm as possible until the Inhumans are gone." Steve sighed. "We'll do a full debrief when you get back."

"Roger that." Bucky responded.

In New Atillan, the final group of refugees was teleported into the main square, along with Medusa and her retinue. Karnak lowered her slowly towards the ground. Lockjaw flopped to the floor, completely exhausted from the exertion.

"Get the medics here, now!" Karnak rushed out. Black Bold flew into the area, landing and rushing over to be by his wife.

"Your Highness, we...we tried to protect her!" Gorgon rushed out. "We asked her to return with one of the earlier groups, but she insisted on staying..."

He held up a hand, silencing him, before reaching down to his wife. He looked into her eyes, the shock and horror evident in his face. Karnak started moving around the crowd gathering around them.

"Everyone stay back! Give the medics some room!" He told them. The medics arrived by Medusa's side, beginning to work on her. Black Bolt moved away reluctantly, allowing them to work on her. His fists clenched in rage, and he looked to Karnak. He just nodded.

"Security, separate the refugees into groups, get them to processing!" He told them. As they were all led away, Black Bolt looked down to Medusa, before signing something to her. She just looked up to Karnak and Gorgon.

"The King has spoken." She grunted out through her pain. "If it's war they want, then war they shall have!"
