Chapter 19 as the modern pre-reform Vulcan universe turns.

"Yer, sorry fer acting like an ungrateful arse well ye should be!" Scotty Practically Bellows into the silence. Holding up a hand to forestall any sort of response from the doctor. "Dunne give me that look. From the day I came aboard, this silver lady. I have watched that man who by the way, is our Captain and supposed to be respected. fore n'e open yer gobs and spew forth stupidity. Let it be known that I will happily do my three days in the brig.

"Scotty—

"Nah… Captain I can'ne hold my tongue any longer. I dun'na understand how you can put up with this…" Scotty shakes his head in disgust at the room. Seeing, Sulu, and Chekhov, Nodding. He makes a disgusted sound and says. If you understand, can you explain it?"

Sulu shrugs, "I can try but I don't know if it will make any difference. I think the problem is fundamental.

Nyota makes a Scoffing noise and Doctor McCoy asks. What the… what the hell is that supposed to be… is that supposed to mean?

Sulu shrugs. "What I mean is… Mr. Scott and I see things differently, because we come from an ancestral background of deeply clannish people in their own way. Just as the Vulcans. Without the details, that blood vows from people? I from one don't need to know anything about the sensitivity of Vulcan hands. To know that's some serious shit. To make the offer on our behalf as a new clan member? People have doubted the captain before, then wish they hadn't. I have to say I don't doubt the captain. He says you're his best friend. You say he's your best friend. Okay… Other than sneaking him on board the enterprise. And occasionally getting drunk with him… When have you actually acted like it? Truly yell at him, about not telling you things. Why should he? You find out about the Vulcan bond, the blowup."

"A vow of the blood. My Lord between T'hy'la?" Riley breathes. He sounds strange combination of outraged and afraid. "Who would doubt the honor of such warriors. That could claim true T'hy'la!?"

"Mr. Riley while I appreciate your outrage on behalf myself and my T'hy'la. I'm going to remind you again for what is this the third time now. This is not the Vulcans your use to this is not Tiggy's Vulcans. These Vulcans are dedicated pacifist and followers of Saurek. Saurek is the majority here. Not the minority. The way of the warrior is the past the closest they come to it here is at the koon-ut-kalifee if someone chooses to invoke kal'i'farr. Which you should know they haven't done until today and over to millennium here."

Seeing the confused looks pass between the two. Kirk rolls his eyes.

"They practice or should I say they still practice Telan t'Kanlar" Kirk says. He is lucky because as soon as the phrase is out of his mouth. Both Riley and Gala take too big step back. Hiss and spit on the floor. In his peripheral vision Kirk can see. Spock's eyebrows climbing to his hairline. But once again he doesn't have time to acknowledge that.

Kirk holds his hand up in a placating gesture. "It's not as bad as you think. Well, sort of…" Spock's head swiveled to him now. "The parents choose logically."- all three non-Vulcans roll their eyebrows at the use of that word.

"Though nothing's consummated until one or both parties is called to the other during pon farr near the plak-tow-"

This time both Gala and Riley suck in a breath. "But that's not… They couldn't possibly…" They both start, Disgust and so much sorrow or horror in their voices at the thought. He remembered having the same reaction himself. All Kirk can do is nod and notice the slight crinkling of Spock's forehead a sign that he's confused. Kirk doesn't blame him.

"You have to remember guys, it's all about the logic here. Like I said before. No one speaks of pon farr not even amongst themselves. They don't even tell the children. Not even when mated. That's what causes so much of the problems—

Kirk is interrupted by an irate Gala. "That is the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard! No wonder they don't have pon farr pits here. They don't need them! Well not pits anyway because… All Jimmy letting parents make logical choice about bond mate's what kind of ridiculousness is that that's worse than the pits at least in the pit you have a chance. However, slim a finding your match… Like you did although you found. T'hy'la technically before the pits but that's beside the point. With the proper mate. It can be a beautiful experience… Logic my ass. There's nothing logical about pon farr. It's no wonder there ashamed of it. After trying to logic pon farr it would be all confusion and pain all god! No wonder that fucking bastard like it here so well this would make his ultimate feeding ground especially now… With the elders insisting on logical compatibility matches solely for procreation purposes."

Riley puts a comforting arm around Gala at Kirk's nod, knowing that he would probably do it if it weren't for Spock being with them right now. "Which leads me back to my original point. The one known as ambassador Selek, which we know is a spot counterpart. Acknowledged me is a counterpart to his own, T'hy'la. Even Lady T pau herself had to admit that since a T'hy'la bond is through the Katra. That means that all Spock's and all Jim Kirk's are acknowledged as part of each other. This was unequivocally proven as far as this universe is concerned. When the one known as ambassador Selek melded with me on Delta Vega to convey information. We were automatically melded as if a bond link already existed. Whether this has to do with just the T'hy'la bond or Tiggy and myself I do not know. However, he showed this to Lady T' pau, and she acknowledged my place in the house of Saurek and my right to stand challenge for Elder Selek Koon-ut-Kalifee earlier. I have no idea exactly how T'Pring's got word of this… In this universe, Sarek of the house Saurek made a tacit agreement with T'Pring guardian… Some political Bullshit. As I understand it. I get the feeling that neither party truly believed Spock would enter pon farr. Nor did T'pring herself truly wish to be mated to Spock. Honest to God. I've never understood why any of the healers claim those two are anywhere compatible… However, apparently both she and her chosen or should I say self-chosen mate entered in the pon farr at least the first stages and having somehow found out about the decree concerning counterparts she decided to solve her issues by having Stonn challenge not this universe is Spock. This Spock, my Spock, but Elder Spock in hopes that age would lead to advantage using the excuse that her time. Both are times were near and with the population deficit they couldn't afford to wait on calling young Spock back to accept the challenge. She either didn't know or didn't care that I was near to accept for Elder Spock. I know she didn't expect me to be victorious. In Elder Spock's timeline. It was he and his captain that fought for it was before they discovered they were T'hy'la. It was that particular incident that confirmed it."

"I guess she's a conniving bitch in any universe." Gala exclaimed.

"I can't believe he would allow you to do such a thing you could've been killed!" Spock said In a tone that was the Vulcan equivalent of highly pissed off.

"Not likely. I don't know why my Lord even let that wretch mark him, especially if he is as unschooled as my Lord says-"

"not likely, it wouldn't even be the third time that Jimmy's kick Stonn's ass. I would say he probably let him get some shots in being too nice and trying to keep from killing him-"

"Now wait a god damn minute! One, Selek didn't allow me to do ship nobody allows me to do anything, especially when it comes to something like this. She made the challenge to Selek based on the fact he is a Spock. Just as I my counterpart is a Kirk we're both, T'hy'la. as T'hy'la, it is my right to accept challenge on behalf of my mate. Any mate that is S'chn T'gai Spock. which is the general accepted rule. In any universe so far because apparently Katra's are universal constant. As far as the damage it that's right I got most of it trying not to have to kill his ass number one reason there are so few Vulcans left I did not want to be responsible for the death of another. No matter how much he might deserve it. I think the loss of a planet just might wake him up. With T'pring which by the way, is another reason not to kill his ass. I already have to deal with one T'pring. More than I want to. Thank God she's mostly Tiggy's problem… Come to think of it. I'm surprised Tiggy even speaks to me after saddling him with that."

"Oh, please!" Gala makes a derisive snort. "I don't know why you're worried Jimmy! Michael keeps her out of his lordship's hair. And she gets to play nanny and hostess of the house of Saurek since the lady Amanda doesn't want anything to do with it. Well at least the hostess part. Last I knew she was still pissed that she couldn't convince his Lordship to come across since you had to return to this your proper universe. So, if you asked me. She's pretty much got her cake and gets to eat it too. I don't know how you can stand it. Jimmy with-"seeing the look on Kirk's face Gala stops talking her mouth forming a little O as she realizes what she almost said.

Kirk wants to be angry that she almost said more than she was supposed to but then the remembers that her chip is been disabled. That's probably not helping. So, his features softened "there really wasn't any choice Gala, as you know, I didn't have any choice but to end Stonn in that universe. I couldn't afford to be seen as weak as for whatever known reason only to him. Tiggy named me Prince of the house. Though I had to come back here, and he knew it. I am not his true T'hy'la any more than I'm Selek's true T'hy'la my Spock is right here. Therefore, I couldn't take everything from him." Kirk said, giving them both a significant look well aware that his Spock was cataloguing everything.

"As much as I'd love to continue this lovely version of as the modern pre-reform Vulcan universe turns. I have a planet wide pon farr epidemic to figure out how to fix. Whose popular cause appears to be something about switching planets and circadian rhythms." Kirk doesn't fail to see the most awesome game of eye tennis ever going on between Gala and Riley.
