Chapter 23 channeling your inner Binar Jimmy?
Visibly shaking himself, kirk looks over to Spock.
"Before we get to the fun part. The healing I would like to allow Bones and Dr. M'Banga to take some scans.
Spock raises an eyebrow. "This is not going to be pleasant. I can see the necessity of having tangible proof. To Settle things with their friends. However, Jim—
"don't worry, Ashaya remember k'diwa Nothing leaves here." Kirk said in a tone that everyone in the room realized it was for them more than Spock.
"It's like Selek said with bones. Seeing is believing. He needs to see his scans. He needs to understand. He can't be an effective Dr. if he can't understand how—
"I know you're right… It's just—
"I know Ashaya, this is different… Fuck it... This is supposed to be all about sharing from here on out. Well, listen. Most everyone in this room knows or has been told how painful the blood vow is. These aren't a bunch of Vulcan healers and you're not a lab rat." Jim made sure everyone knew he was speaking directly at Sarek. Even if he was talking to Spock. No one here is going to judge your reactions. I will not stand for it. From anyone not your father or grandmother." Spock jerked at the mention of his grandmother. "Kirk just smirked. Oh yes, I know grandma's been either listening through a device on Sarek or Selek. Probably Sarek because Selek would know it would be futile to try to hide such a thing for whatever reason.
Selek actually chuckled again. "I warned you, that he would know."
"Well, he certainly does now." snaps a familiar disembodied voice.
"Oh, please! Don't get pissy with Selek. It's not like it was that hard to figure out. I figured out as soon as they showed up on my transporter pad. What other purpose would you have in sending two of your best, ambassadors. Minutes after I ended our conversation? A conversation I might add that you were quite finish with. Kirk shrugs. It's what I would've done. Since you're already listening. Why don't you just pop on over, so you don't have to eavesdrop. After this little show and tell. There's going to be some pictures. And since I'm going to just level the playing field so that we're all not rehashing old ideas and confused about certain things. You might be interested to see or at least be here for that part... You and you alone are invited I'll have someone meet you in the transporter room to ensure your safety and escort you here to the conference room."
Very well, as thee wish James, I find I wish to see this great-granddaughter. Says T'pau.
He looks up to see everyone staring at him again and rolls his eyes.
"Jesus Christ none of you start. Yes, I just invited T'pau here to the conference room. If she's going to listen. She might as well see what's going on. I don't know, why all y'all are looking like that she's a Vulcan female not the second coming of the antichrist from a 20th century horror movie."
"I'll never understand how you do that." Nyota says.
Jim shrugs. "I really don't see why everybody's freaking out. But if you have to have a reason the perks of being a Tarsus lab rat—
There was a chorus of what's all around the room. With one
"Jimmy really! You know that's not true. Especially since you're still wearing your chip."
"I know, Gala I know. I'm just… I need to get this hand taken care of, be a doll and make a spot for Spock on the floor that would be safest."
"Yes, Jimmy. Riley can help me. Are you going to be able to… With the chip?"
"Duh! I've already been doing it Gala. The chip hasn't really been, but halfway functional sense Delta Vega… Well, there was the drill… The Narada probably didn't help any—
"My Lord! You didn't remove it before facing the Romulans?" Riley asked. With actual fear in his voice.
"Oh yeah, because that would've helped the situation. Hey! I know that I'm just the cadet that's on the ship, pissing off the first officer totally succeeding in getting my ass marooned on an Ice planet. But hey, no worries. because I met yet another counterpart of my soulmate. Yes, he's the one that helped me get back on the ship. He says I belong here. Oh yeah, don't worry it's okay because after months of trying to convince myself to come to terms with the fact that my so-called soulmate has fallen for somebody else. Yet another counterpart says it's not possible. And so, instead of trying to be nice I have to use our connection to cause enough pain and embarrass him in front of the whole ship of people. So, I can save earth and maybe what's left of his people whose planet I had already failed to save. Hang on, hold up everybody, stop what you're doing. As you see that doppelgänger I mentioned? Well, he created a Chip so I could pretend to be a normal human. After I left his universe; to come back here to find my rightful soulmate. Just give me 30 minutes to remove it. And maybe another 30, maybe 25 to get right. And y'all just hang out. I'll just go right over there and take care of some business. Just don't ask questions, Cos if I actually told you that I was genetically altered as a kid on Tarsus IV to be a psi ops super soldier combining the psychic and physical abilities of several species using a genetically engineered bacteria as a catalyst. I'd have to … Hey, I know how this sounds, but trust me there's nothing to worry about. It's complicated, I know, but I actually spent time training how to control all this weirdness with some techno-savvy caves Vulcans. Because the Prince who happens to be yeah, you guessed it, a doppelgänger for my soulmate; made it his business to look out for me.
Since he lost his Kirk to assassination. An accident that probably wasn't entirely accidental now that I think about it. landed him following me into captivity and torture. There was a good thing though. Some of the fucked-up tortures resulted in our shared daughter. After surviving hell, we decided it would be best if I returned temporarily to techno-cave Vulcan land. So, His Highness could teach me control. which by the way, apparently is excellent. when I'm not wrestling with a masking chip and other psychic trauma for real. I truly do. Except, of course. That one little incident where my baby mama gave himself up to protect the people with him. His mother and other uppity ups. Because some of that cave Vulcan issues. You see, he knew I could and still can sense him and plan his rescue. How did I know finding him beaten and violated in unspeakable ways would cause me to go native and blow up a few heads. Techno-or not. It's not every day that pre-reform Vulcans who live by the blade in blood; not only accept but are actually pleased to have a round eared human as their matriarch's consort. But hey, at least when I had to leave, I now know that no one would dare question my child's place in the hierarchy, whatever her blood. So, when it was time, Tig Figured out how to help me hide. He created the chip. So, I could go back where I belonged my own universe. with no undue questions or people looking to kill me to cover their asses. Although come to think about it. That may have changed. Or rather just be fucking normal. So, I know this sounds, but well certain people would be upset about that. Especially if they finally figured out that their experiments were successful. Oh wait, yeah that's why the chip was created. so that most if not all med scanners would be fooled. Since most of the changes occurred in my brain. As a human I don't have the option of saying no, I don't want to see a regular Dr. like some telepathic species, there'd be too much explaining. Yeah, that's right. Oh yeah there's also the fact that I'm psychically tied to my first officer/Soulmates counterparts I already know from earlier before, I found myself impersonating a lab rat and genetically altered. That I am sensitive to that particular person. So, I can only imagine what would happen if I was stuck on a ship with that person with no buffer there, said person is bound to figure it out. Considering they're not Psi-null in fact their Psi- rating is very high. Yeah… that would not be awkward
"Jesus fucking Christ Jimmy…
"So, you tell me Gala… Exactly when would've been the perfect time. Not during the fighting. Not enough time to adjust, especially with the communal links gone. That's also a problem. I spent enough time on T'khasi to get used to them. Vulcans can go around fuzzed out. They lost the planet their telepaths. You can also go around this ship in your own zone, or whatever because you're an empathic Orion by breed. They don't need to know anything else. Riley's paperwork is damn near full-blooded Betaziod again affected by emotions. Jimmy Kirk? If I am sad, or hell, if I'm not playing the field, or what was it trying to make the alien rainbow? like a good little man-whore? Couldn't let them know that my stretch bond links were giving me touch starvation that's not a human thing not at the levels I felt at times. Better to just let everybody think Jimmy Kirk is the biggest man-whore in the galaxy."
"Well?... Apparently, I have been doing everything wrong. I come in here to have a meeting about a fucking crisis, and somehow it ends up the days of Jimmy's lives. To tell me… When would you have yanked out the chip? during all that? And still been able to keep secrets for everybody's safety? Do keep in mind, Bones always has a tri-quarter up his ass. He's also already suspicious of all my fucking allergies."
Gala took a knee. "Oh Jimmy… I'm so sorry Lord spock asked us to take care of you. I didn't realize you're right. I don't know, when would've been a good time but you know, my Lord Spock said that anytime you had to actually use your skills. You should remove it. It was only meant to keep other people from noticing anything different about you. You know, he said that if it overloaded… If you died from something he created… He may have sent you back here because you deserve to have your rightful T'hy'la, and he deserves to have you. But you know you're all connected, and my Lord Spock loves you."
"Christ! I know Gala… You keep saying that like I'm not aware. kaiidth. I can't very well take the chip out while I am holding hands with my k'diwa. I like his marbles where they are and his brain, not liquefied. So, I think we will wait until we take care of this hand thing which I've been trying to do. Then okay, I will remove it. I take it yours has already been removed?"
Gala giggled. "Well, that's a silly question. I never liked them anyway… Besides, it wasn't that big a deal for me. Like you said, people pretty much chalk everything up to my being Orion anyway so it's not a big deal and I can control the pheromones better."
"Not that big a deal for me. I can control them. Either way."
Kirk looked at the small square Gala had laid out on the floor after Riley and Scotty pushed the table over.
"Well, gala you're bitching at me about using chipped are you going to activate or not. So, we can get this done. I really, really need to move on. We spent the last 45 minutes seriously. I really haven't even heard the reason you two were skulking in my quarters " Kirk huffs.
"Well, I think you'll definitely want to wait until after we take care Cmdr. Of Spock for that."
Kirk makes an inpatient get on with it gesture.
Gala huffs. Looking around the room.
