Chapter 24 Silly Vulcan. I had a plan.

"You are the one that said you wanted this to be a show and tell. I was just trying to make sure everyone was paying attention. Instead of staring at you like they have been doing since you decided to spew verbal diarrhea like an over caffeinated Binar."

At Gala's words. That's when Kirk looked up and noticed that everyone, especially Bones, was staring at him in a shocked daze. He had gotten so used to shielding over the last few minutes that he hadn't even registered Spock staring at him also radiating sort of shocked awe…"

Kirk looked at Gala. "And you asked me why I didn't remove the chip or want to tell anyone?" Kirk said sadly, shoulder slumping. Then then pulling himself straight again. He raised his eyes. I promised you the truth, you will get it. All I ask is that you keep it to yourselves. The law is the law. I would appreciate it if you could stick around long enough to help us with the current trouble on Va-fer-tor. The people of va'fer'tor do not deserve to be punished because of me."

Kirk's instinctual reaction. Was to pull his hand away, but he knew he couldn't do that. So, he tightened his personal shield still siphoning the pain. This caused both Elder Spock and young Spock to draw and a ragged breath.

That combined with their synchronized.

"Jim— "

Jim— "

it was Dr. M Banga and not Bones Surprisingly or maybe not so surprisingly. That asked. "What is it? What's happened?"

It was Cmdr. Spock who Swallowing repeatedly which was very strange for Vulcan...

"He's… I don't understand this… This shouldn't be possible… He's pulling away entirely, similar to when… Shielding like that is difficult for… He shouldn't be able to do it that fast, that completely… I don't understand -

"Jimmy don't be an idiot. —

"Gala! Don't speak to his Lordship that way you forget yourself!" This from Riley.

"While somebody's well somebody's got to tell him, he's being an idiot. None of these people are helping. The doctor. Bones usually does it, but I think Jimmy broke-him—

Kirk couldn't help the bitter bark of laughter that erupted from his mouth.

"Winona always said, I was born to destroy things. Guess she was right. —" It was set so low he didn't think anyone heard but of course the Vulcans did. And apparently so did everyone else because the room arrested.

"Are ye daft? This from Scotty. Is that wee trinket that ye and the lassie be talking about causing yer hearing to fail? Captain Sir."

"My hearing is fine. Mr. Scott."

"Then it's our honor your questioning?" This from Sulu.

"No! Never!"

"Then you think us liars." This from Chekhov.

"Of course not!"

"Since, when do you give up so easily. Kirk? Aren't you the one who believes who says there's no such thing as a no-win? So were all a little shocked and confused. You can't blame us. Your back and forth with Gala Is a little intimidating. And hard to follow. I didn't even know you knew her that well other than… That time I walked in on you. I take it when you are finished with the show McCoy whatever it is you want to show him. You'll stop channeling your inner farmer and get back to the cocky genius tactician. We all know and some of us love." A small grin peaks on Kirk's face. "Lieut. did you just admit I'm a genius? "

"I did not, I simply acknowledged that I believe you believe your genius."

"Ouch!"

"Test scores don't lie." Said Kirk. Eyes flashing.

"Says the man who I caught under my computer expert roommates' bed in his underwear." Kirk laughed.

"Hey, it's not my fault Gala didn't let me put on my pants. Wasn't fair and then you shut me out in the hall, where anybody could've seen. It's a good thing I don't embarrass easily. Kirk said.

Sorry Jimmy, I panicked. Gala said.

"Panicked? Since when does an Orion panic over anything having to do with sex?" Lieut. Urhura asked.

Gala rolled her eyes. And gestured at Urhura.

"See what I mean. This is why I panicked. There was no way you would believe that Jimmy and I weren't having sex. One, and two, we made it promise that we wouldn't spend too much time together with other people. He has seen what happens. We let our guard down and say things…

"Okay, so you're telling me that you and the captain just set on your bed almost naked and never…."

Before gala could answer. There was a thundering growl.

Jim was yanked closer to Spock Heedless of their injured hand.

"Mine!" Spock hissed at Gala.

There was a chorus of cautious;

"Captain-Sarek said.

"Jim-Selek said.

Gala looked at Urhura and made a gesture as if to say, see. "And that right there is why I would not ever sleep with Jimmy even though he's hot. —

Cue even louder growling and hissing. Everyone started shifting as if to do something, especially Selek and Sarek, but it was Gala who stopped them cold. "Don't get your lipira's is in a bunch boys. Jimmies got this- you will only make it worse if you try to interfere. Like I was saying a minute ago. No way would I sleep with Jimmy even if this one's just a big sehlat. Cmdr. Spock might growl and slap me around a little bit for touching. Lord Spock, he'd have me flayed. Of course, Jimmy would never come across but if he did or I tried with intent. I don't know that even Jimmy could save me."

Everyone looked at Kirk. He just shrugged. Spock growled again. This time tugging on the injured hand.

"All right… Looks like there's going to be a little more live show then that I plan for at the moment… Gala…" Kirk gala and Riley share a look. Then Gala set about what Kirk had asked her to do before everybody got sidetracked for the hundredth time.

"You must take him somewhere private."

Sarek said.

"No."

"Surely you don't mean to. In front of all these people."

Kirk rolled his eyes.

"I have things to show bones that hasn't changed. This is not what you think it is."

Kirk closed his eyes and let down some of his shielding, separating him from Selek.

Selek took a deep breath.

"Ambassador—

"Captain, it's obvious he's being affected. It's your duty to—

Kirk held up a hand cutting them off.

By this point Spock was making a continuous growling noise. Gala and Riley were nonplussed, whereas everybody else was somewhere between fascinated.

"Is this that Mating business you all were talking about? Dr. McCoy asked.

"Yes." The ambassadors Sarek said.

"No." Jim Riley and Gala, all three said at the same time.

"No, it isn't. Kirk said more heatedly. This is insidious, it mimics pon farr. And I'd be willing to bet. This is what's going on the planet.

Gala was right. I should've removed fucking chip if I had I would've been able to sense it.

"Pon farr, is pon farr" Sarek starts. Kirk goes to reply, but Spock becomes more agitated.

So, it's Gala who answers. "Trust us it's really not always. Besides which, it's not like you people ever talk about it so how would you know. Do us a favor and stop distracting us. Jimmy. He's the best wrangling but he's also chipped."

Ambassador Selek says, "I think we should listen. Mr. ambassador. Having forgotten about her listening in, Kirk startles at the sound of T'pau's "I concur James would never do anything that will allow Spock to come to harm."

"I Thank thee, Elder, for thine—

Kirk is cut off midsentence when Cmdr. Spocks teeth snapped next to his face.

Without taking his eyes off the rest of the room as if it was a completely normal occurrence. which in another universe. It sort of was for little bit. Even in this one on a different planet. Kirk shifted his weight so that his body penned Spock's freehand. While his other hand reached up to grab Spock by the hair and yank his neck back until it was fully extended.

There were more shocked gasps.

Ambassadors Sarek's. Disgruntled murmurings.

A tentative "Jim."

"Don't worry, Ashel-veh. Unfortunately, or fortunately, depending on how you look at it. You have three people who have quite a bit of experience dealing with this."

"Gala, you're in no, scratch that Riley. You're in charge of answering questions. Gala I'm gonna need your help for the actual healing once…"

"Yes sir, the spaces ready."

At the sound of Gala's voice. More thrashing and growling.

Kirk absently is the hair another yank. He had slightly relaxed. His hold.

"Ambassador Spock, Ashel Veh," Kirk says while keeping Spock reactions. "He looks at Riley and Gala. "You see that? Now that is fascinating." Gala just nods. But she doesn't say anything out loud. Kirk looks at her and nods his head. "

It would appear he doesn't care about ambassador Selek." she says. Same reactions before growling and thrashing.

Kirk shakes his head. "That's an interesting reaction considering there's only ever been one Spock at a time. Never had a chance to see that. Anyway, I don't have much time, ambassador Spock. Obviously, I'm going to be occupied. As you have experience as a Starfleet officer first officer and Captain, I'm going to ask you that if there is any emergency or whatever. See to it. As is not something I can just set aside even for a red alert at the moment. I don't expect any problems but if there's a call from Pike whatever deal with it. "Mind the store Spock." Yes, Captain. Elder Spock says with twitching lips. "That includes your father."

"Jim, he needs medical attention. Bones what he needs right now. What all the Vulcans apparently need is for you, and M. Banga to take your track orders out and take some readings because if Sarek is anything go by. I'm going to need some proof to show the council."

"But Jim he should be in sick bay—

at this Spock went wild, attempting to rise up… Or tried to out of the corner of his eye, Kirk saw Riley shooing people back into their seats Gala had one hand on each of the doctors' arms. And that's when Kirk noticed dual hypo sprays. "No, no sedatives know anything no hypos. No—

"but Jim—

"Bones please put them away!"

Spock had separated their hands, so he was getting hit with the pain.

"But Jim his pain receptors or off the scale!"

"That's because when you said what you said jerked hand out of mine put them away. And watch your readings. Please I swear! They will even out if they don't then—

but they will—

"He should still be in sick bay. Either way!" Bones declares.

At this point. Gala actually put her hand over McCoy's mouth and said into his ear. "Only if you want him to go insane or die."

"McCoy makes a disgusted sound. "That is the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard that doesn't even make any sense."

Gala makes a frustrated noise. "Dr. would you stop trying to fit this very alien problem into a human box and do as the captain asked and scan. Also, stop talking about that place. You're not helping it doesn't matter if you don't understand it. The captain can explain it or maybe ambassador Spock. I don't know but stopped talking and watch. The captain wanted to prove to you that he could help with the pain of the vow. This is almost better than that but you're not helping your exacerbating the issue. Just listen and watch and maybe you can come up with a cure. This is not what the Vulcans think it is."

Gala kept her hand on McCoy's mouth until he gave a slow nod of acquiescence pointing his Tri quarter at the Vulcan in Jim's arms who was all but convulsing. And mewing. "Listen up. I need for you all to witness this so that you can help come up with something because there are not enough people to do this with an entire population. Nor would it work. I'll explain more later. Obviously, for now, be quiet to avoid exacerbating triggers." Jim said through gritted teeth.

"For Fuck's sake, Jim. If you can help him, help him. I am bones. I will. However, I must make clear after this point I won't be speaking to anybody but him don't interfere no hypos—"at the word hypo Spoke jackknifed halfway off of Kirk's lap where he had managed to hurl himself when things first started. Kirk stared hard at bones. Until he nodded once again holding his Tri quarter out a little further.

Kirk turned spocks whole body in his arms. "Watch my back Gala."

"Always, sir." Gala said the most serious anyone ever heard her. Kirk was vaguely aware of the shocked reactions of the bridge crew. He couldn't worry about that right now. He shifted Spock around until he could slide down onto the portable cushioned chase like lounge. That gala had deployed. They choose the chase like lounge portable because neither Kirk nor Spock like to be incapacitated flat on their back. Kirk gets in position despite and thrashing. He has spocks back up against his chest with their legs intertwined. He goe's to reach for spokes hand and flicks his eye to the docs. "not the way I intended it to go but here we are … you watching the pain receptors?

"Yes, Jim, I'm watching them rise to lethal levels actually passed lethal levels. If you're going to do something, do it." Jim tighten his hold on Spock with one arm grasping his injured hand so that they were once again palm to palm.

Jim couldn't control his own jerk when their palms met again. Nor could he stop the "Fuck!" that slipped out through his clenched teeth. At the sound of his voice when the flesh of their palms connected; it was obvious that even in his delirious state, Spock was trying to move his hand away from Jim...

"Jim." McCoy starts. "He doesn't seem to want you doing whatever you're doing; and his readings are still skyrocketing."

Giving up on the concept that he wouldn't be able to not talk to anyone else. Not that it would matter with Spock. This far gone. There's only one thing he can do until he takes the damn chip out for good. "Patients Bones."
" It would seem that even drugged and delirious this Spock like every other Spock except for the one that spent 50 years with me. Or 30 or whatever. Still underestimates me and is overly paranoid and protective. Since when have you ever known, Spock to do anything without a fight?" Kirk gives their injured hand a sharp jerk. Staring at the top of Spock's head fondly.

"Silly Vulcan, did you not just say it was futile to argue with me?"

"God dammit, Jim. Have you lost your fucking mind? The man is practically in cardiac arrest due to pain… He's obviously so delirious with it he that he don't know where he is and you're sitting there talking to the top of his fucking head like that's gonna help something!"

"Bones! You are doing it again. You're judging something completely nonhuman with human standards. He can hear every damn thing I'm saying, he's just being his usual stubborn bossy overprotective Vulcan-self. who doesn't want me taking a risk helping him. He'd rather go into shock and die. I'm not let that happen. Just because he underestimates me. I wanted you to be doing readings when the blood vow happened and was healed. I did not count on my first officer and T'hy'la being affected by some man-made Vulcan psychedelic sexual enhancer—

"This is enough, Jim. He needs to be in sick bay.

As CMO—

Just then the conference room doors opened momentarily drawing everyone's eye… Allowing Spock to almost roll way, but Kirk was quicker. managing pulled him back down.

"All while, in walks. Lady T'pau, escorted by Elder Selek. She walks right up to McCoy causing him to take a step back. Pinning him with her gaze.

"You will do nothing with my grandson. That the captain does not wish. you will cease interrupting; and observe as the captain has asked. He seems to have faith in your abilities as a physician. Although I have yet to see why. He has bid thee several times observe and not interfere. I suggest thee do so. It is not well to interfere between mates. They are T'hy'la. Everyone seems to neglect to remember this. Kirk would not allow harm to come to Spock. for to harm Spock, is to harm himself. I have noticed when thee mentions medical practice. This does not ease my grandson. Mayhap, through observation knowledge might be gained."

Kirk nods at T'pau. "Thank you, eldest mother."

To T'pau inclines her head slightly. And this time, Kirk can see sadness in her ageless eyes. "If Thee has a plan. I would urge thee to implement it."

Kirk nods, "I do. I'm just being an illogical human, I wished things to be easier for my k'diwa." As he spoke, Kirk ran his hand through Spock's hair. He looked at Gala. "As soon as I have him. Don't wait, move and heal the hand. Make sure the doctors get to see, explain what or how it works as well."

The whole time he was talking to Gala he was absently stroking Spock's hair lovingly as he twitched and growled in response to Jim's instructions. Everyone in the room was reacting except for Riley, Gala and Jim.

"How the fuck can you sit there and be so calm?" Nyota demanded.

Kirk just shook his head.

He was vaguely aware of someone probably Selek answering. "As the other half. He has no choice… Do not judge."

With one last look at gala to make sure she had the healing wand ready. "You won't believe me, but this is not…as it will seem…especially to the humans. this is not…remember he is Vulcan. There is more—

Kirk broke off and met T'pau's gaze. Who inclined her head. "It's the only way now. I do my duty, as a mate entrusted with the privilege rarely given to an outworlder. The care and protection, of something so fragile and rarely seen That most doubt it still exists today. But I know it does, the Vulcan heart." Kirk bent close over Spock. Running his first two fingers down over Spock's sculpted cheek bone.

"k'hat'n'dlawa, you honor me, I swear I will not fail thee."

With that the only warning Kirk blocked out all other responses, including the sound of gasps echoing around the room as he grab Spock by the hair yanking him roughly. Hard enough to force sound from him, driving his eyes open from the shock of it. Kirk made sure that his mouth was near the juncture where neck meets shoulder. He hisses into Spock's face.

"You are mine! Your mind, your body. Your blood is mine. Switching his grip so that he's holding Spock's chin in his hand. Kirk squeezes when he starts to see Spock's gaze waiver adding shake to the movement. We are T'hy'la! We are one not easily separated. They think us weak. We are not. We will find them. Those that would dare drug us thinking that that would be enough to separate us. To touch one is to touch both. When the time comes, they will face both of us. As it should be. No one touches what is mine! This will be their only warning!" The last word was a growl scream. that shocked everyone because of its inhuman sound coming from Kirk's mouth. He may not have noticed but everyone in the room including Sarek and Selek shot each other glances. Yet couldn't tear their eyes away. It just the room just had a feel about it. Even the psi-null humans could sense something, but they didn't know what. All they could do was stand there and watch as after holding him so tightly and that strange speech. Kirk completely let go of Spock, all the while, continuing to emit a strange low sound. There was the exact length of two heartbeats as their eyes were locked together. It would've been missed, If everyone in the room wasn't watching. Spock's body language shifted slightly. He tilted his head, exposing his neck to Kirk and faster than breath. Kirk was on him. Shocking everyone into rounds of "holy Fuck" a couple "Jesus Christ's" and at least one fascinating made it into the chaos. At this point they had left the lounger seat. The force of Kirk's movement drove Spock in the floor. As he sunk his teeth deep into Spock's neck. Deep enough to taste the copper of his green blood on his tongue. He proceeded to growling to the wound. Then never taking his mouth off the bite. He lifted Spock up setting back on his heels. It was then that he felt Gala move forward with the device. He felt. Spock's body tense. So, he clenched his teeth and shook his head just a bit until he felt. Spock's body go passive. Watching Gala while keeping his teeth where they were. Vaguely aware of some comments probably from the doctors and Riley answering. He wasn't really paying attention to anything until he felt the fingers, of Spock's now healed hand knotting the hair the back of his neck. At this Jim removed his teeth but kept his mouth over the wound lapping at it softly. Slightly angling his own head so that his neck was exposed. When Spock made no move. He brought his own hand up and pressed Spock's mouth to his own neck. So that all in the room could hear other Vulcans could hear. Kirk breathed against the bite mark. "I'm as much yours as you are mine. k'diwa, I want everyone to know who I belong to. Let your mark be their warning! You do not stand alone. My strength is always; and ever yours to draw on. As is a mate's duty; and most importantly my wish this I so swear. Please my love, My Ashaya,

Allow me this please… I beg thee do not reject me.

A heartbeat later, the only warning he got was a barely audible broken. Sounding "Jim." That tore at his heart. He knew that negative feelings with the last thing needed at this point… Thinking the Gods for all the skill he learned he had just enough time to lock them down before he felt unbelievably hot breath on his neck. Followed by a searing pain that he was unable to decide whether it was unbelievably pleasurable. Or unbearably painful. The confusion it causing his system almost caused vision to white out. If it was not for his many experiences with love, pleasure and pain. He probably would've passed out. He knew he had to stay in control. Though especially for Spock's sake. With great force of effort, he managed to move his hands. To Spock's face, sliding them up into his fingers came in contact with his beautiful ear ridges. Knowing that he can't just pull Spock off of his neck, he must not show weakness. He has to stay in control. He must control his mate. Losing him to the madness is not an option.

So, he draws upon his knowledge of such things in uses his thumb to stimulate one of the pleasure points in the highly sensitive Vulcan ear. Shocking Spock into letting go. Without giving him time to do more than let go. Kirk uses the shock to meet his eyes and say,

"Forgive me, k'diwa."

Then Kirk crashed their lips together fiercely. He felt sharp teeth sink deep into his lip. Just as he switched pressure points and Spock released his lip. Falling limp into Jim's trembling arms. For just a second, Jim pulled Spock in closer and presses his still bleeding lips against his beloved's forehead. Heedless of the tears running down his cheeks with the blood from his nose mixing with that of his bleeding lip. "I'm sorry l-Spock, I promise it won't be for long. I will keep you safe. This is the only way to protect you while I get rid of this fucking chip… I will not let you be used." Suddenly, Elder Selek was there. Placing a hand on Jim's shoulder. "I know why you worry; this is not the same. He will see that. One cannot hate that which is a part of them. He will understand and if he doesn't, I will help see that he comes to."

Jim gives Elder Spock a watery smile. "Thank-you old friend, I needed that. I'm glad you're here. I apologize for earlier. I shouldn't have pulled away think that's what… It doesn't matter. I shouldn't have pulled away am sorry I just… Galas right. It's time I stop hiding—

Kirk looks down at Spock in his arms. "Will you see to him being situated back on the lounger and stay with him while I have gala remove the chip. I should have him taken to quarters, but… Something was not right about that. I want to keep him near until I figure out what exactly is going on. I don't want you were Saurek or T pau for that matter. Hell, any of the house of Saurek on the ship too far out of my sight."

Selek nods. "Of course, Captain, who else would he be safer with other than himself."

Kirk rolls his eyes. "Smart ass." Kirk points a finger automatically. "Don't even think about saying anything remotely involving how there is not a Equus africanus asinus in this room smart or otherwise. Or whatever other Bullshit you were considering."

"For you, Jim. I shall endeavor to cut the bullshit…" Jim grins and turns to face the room squaring his shoulders. Taking in the various white faces excluding T'Pau and Sarek of course he is just about to open his mouth. When Selek adds.

"At least for now." Taking his seat. He pulled up beside his counterpart.

"Jim makes an exasperated noise. I think I'm beginning to understand. Bones better. I guess I better be happy and take what I can get. By the way, do not meld with him. You don't seem to be affected. For now, and I don't want to take any chances. Even without the chip. There's only so much of me to go around. I will not be forced to choose." The last part was said with humor, but the seriousness was not lost.

Turning quickly back to the room. Clapping his hands together. Kirk opened his mouth to say something. To try and ease the obvious tension even though he had no clue what that might be. However, instead he wound up bringing hand to temple.

"OWWW Fuck! Goddamnit, I don't need this right now!" He suddenly hears the wer of a tri-quarter and has to smile, both Dr. M Banga and Bones are scanning him and frowning. Both are muttering to each other about the impossibility of whatever's on the scanner.

When Bones looks up. To see Jim smiling. Jim knew, it would set him off. or at least he hoped it would. Mainly because he knew that if his smiling right then didn't cause bones to throw a fit. Their friendship might be irreparably damaged. Which of course, caused him to smile even wider when Bones started yelling. It was even worth the nosebleed in the pain. to know that Bones wasn't ready to walk out yet. he does hope it stays that way. Seeing the usual signs of a James T Kirk is a fucking infant, accident-prone pain in my ass, rant getting ready to start. Dr. M'Banga takes several steps back. Bones notices and gives him a scathing look.

Jim takes that opportunity to make eye contact with Gala and motion towards his arm.

She smiles and starts to hand him the same rectangular instrument that she had used to heal their hands. He shakes his head, holding up a finger. Still smiling on purpose.

The movement though draws McCoy's attention back to Jim. And Jim. Maybe it's the chip. Maybe it's the stress but Jim suddenly reminded of old 20th-century cartoons where the cartoon characters' face slowly changes color. And Jim can't help but giggle.

"You think this is fucking funny, you idiot!" Bones bellows.

"No bones. Everything's pretty messed up right now. Actually, look I know you're worried about me, but I'm fine—

gala snorted. And Kirk gave her a dark look.

"Gala you're not helping. I'm fine—

"No, my lord Jimmy captain you will not be fine. if you do not take out the chip before you keep using psi power to do things like attempting to blast him free with love, Which OMG never seen a glow that bright before. Really pretty to! Is that a T'hy'la thing? It probably is … then. when it didn't free him. You still managed to knockout your artificially sexed up Vulcan love machine. Wow… if others have seen you wield this kind of…and with the chip active wow. it's no wonder they except you at Lord Spock's right hand. You most certainly will not be fine. None of us will be fine. If you keep pushing that chip. Most don't have the ability to test it like that. those that do, it's rare for them to need disguise, so they don't bother, to much a hassle to remove we they need their ability's. yours is a special case Trust me on that. however, that, does not change the fact that should that chip finally short out for good and kill you. We will most certainly be praying to all the gods across the multi-verse for a quick death. I guess the upside to that is, we won't have to worry about the soul eater, pon farr, or Vulcan aphrodisiacs saying, and you keep willfully ignoring or choosing not to hear me. —

It was Riley that spoke up. "It's because, he only knows of this elder's Saurekian Spock who managed to find a purpose or something when his bond mate past—

"Technically, my bond mate was lost in a fluctuating vortex that pops randomly around the universe and apparently time does not exist there. I have no way of finding him or going to be with him where he is… However, he's not truly dead merely inaccessible. Our bond is stretched completely thin. I think if it wasn't the T'hy'la bond the bonding of souls. Maybe then it would've broken… I don't know but I know… He's not truly dead.

I also think that's what allowed such a quick link with Jim. Or so I thought maybe not. Though, since he also form some sort of bond with this Lord Spock. So,

it probably is that all over, Katra's are connected."

-Yet one of these days when we get done with the current crisis. Before command sends us off on some other life-threatening mission. We're going to sit down with all our favorite eggheads. I'm thinking one egghead in particular who figured out how to bust into other universes like going next door for a cup of sugar who knows if time really doesn't exist in that place. Maybe we can put our big brains together and figure out how to get old me back. —

"Jim don't joke about something like that. Please…" Selek said softly.

"I—

"you are doing what you always do. You are trying to change the subject infant!" McCoy cuts in. "I also don't have to have Spock's IQ to understand what. Your two worshipers over there trying to say. Apparently, your cuddly cave Vulcan. Isn't that cuddly with anybody else. Now just from listening to everything is being said, I'm thinking that a person who was so obsessed with Jim Kirk's that they started rummaging through other universes. It is not the kind of person you want to piss off by telling them that their favorite Kirky bear and apparently also baby daddy's brain turned to mush. Thanks to some designer techno bling."

It was Urhura that commented. "I think you've been spending way too much time with the captain Leonard."

"Probably," Leonard grumbled

"Yeah, what he said." Gala put in.

"Look, Jimmy I'm not about to cross his Lordship by discussing certain things. However, maybe one of these days, you should ask himself or Michael or even The Lady what it was like. Right after… Well, actually until he found you to help. I don't know if it was a combination of the Saurekian principles you or just you. The one thing I do know is since he found purpose protecting saving and taking care of the little boy who was almost beaten to death at seven. He became better… Even after the incident. People were surprised. The punishment you doled out wasn't the whole reason the people called for you… Yes, the people called for you.

Oh, he was considering it anyway. However, the fact that people asked after you in the markets and when you were at his side. Anyway, the point is if you die, especially because of that chip. I can promise you, his Lordship S'chn T'gai Spock head of the house of Sarek high ruler of the T'khasi will more than likely drown more than one universe in blood and various horrors I doubt very seriously whether even Savik could keep him from doing so."

Kirk threw up his hands. "You can stop now. I was going to have Gala remove the chip any second. Jesus! I know Tiggy can be ruthless when he has to be. He learned the hard way what happens if you let his guard down. I understand you're trying to look out for me –

To prove a point Kirk held his arm out to Gala and nodded his head. She stepped forward, wand at the ready.

"Wait you're just going to take out some Psi inhibiting trinket here in the conference room?!" Bones squawks. Kirk grinds his teeth. "Weren't you just over there hemming and hawing, talking about my scans and my brain turning into Swiss cheese? Gala's right I need to remove the chip obviously everything that's happened has made the chip malfunctional I'm way to head blind. which made me have to do something that I doubt Spock will ever forgive me for, even if it is to help him. Plus? This fucking headache is driving me crazy, and I need to get rid of the chip. So, I can get rid of the fucking headache once and for all."

Bones nods. "That's why I said let's go to sick bay—

"Bones, I realize you're a doctor, and therefore your first reaction is for everybody to go to sick bay. which is your wheelhouse. I'm trying to understand that; but the thing is, even if I was in sick bay, hooked up to every one of your machines there's nothing you could do, because the chip doesn't show up. That's the whole point. Once it's removed the damage should repair itself. You can take all the scans you want with your tri-quarters. Also, there's no reason for me to go to sick bay, because we're not making any permanent records. On any of the major equipment we have already been through this since there's nothing anything in sick bay could do to help with the situation. The nosebleeds will cease when the chip is gone. The biggest problem with removing the chip will be the backlash by which I mean the chip deadens my psi abilities. So, without it the first few minutes are going to be really fun. Sarcasm intended." Jim pointed a finger. "No…"

McCoy opens his mouth, closes it.

"You don't even know what I was going to say."

Jim scoffs. You are going to say that if I would go down to sick bay you can sedate me. Or give me some psy- inhibitor. Fair warning in case you get any ideas. If you do any of those things; it will most likely result in my death of some sort of massive brain hemorrhage." Jim shrugs. "I'm not a doctor but I know it's not good. Especially without the chip."

McCoy makes his coughing sound through his teeth. "What the hell are you talking about Jim? I Have given you both more than once!"

"We know trust us!" Both Gala and Riley say in the same disgusted tone. "Do you know how hard it is to treat someone for repeated bouts of acute onset psychic shock? Due to being dosed like that not only repeatedly… while keeping it on the Down-low? So, nobody figures out what we're trying to do? Cause there'd be too many questions?"

Kirk taking pity on Bones. "All right, that's enough. Bones save my life. He did what he thought was best, he had no way of knowing that I was actually healing better than the Tribble that the abnormal brain readings, were normal for me in my version of the Tow-cath. He'd never seen them before. Because the damage chip. I'm here… Everyone's okay. Kadith…"

Gala made a noise in her throat. "You know, I've heard you complain when the a Saurekian say that, but you don't mind using it when it suits you. —

"She's got you there Jimbo." McCoy says. Although his face is whiter than usual.

"In the interest of honoring what I said about keeping an open mind. Let us go ahead with this chip removal thing that's going to help you."

McCoy says Penning Kirk with his own don't Fuck with me gaze. "However, at some point we will be coming back around, and you will be elaborating on the details."

"Bones, you saved my life. I'm alive now. You had no way of knowing certain things. And it really doesn't have anything to do with the current crisis on the planet. So, I don't think—

seeing the look on Bones face darkening. Kirk threw up his hands. "Fine! but let me deal with this chip I have to get it out. Then deal with Spock can't leave him like that much longer."

Kirk turns to Gala. "You'll have to do it. I don't think I should try even low-level right this moment. —

"Well, maybe you shouldn't have forced—

Riley hisses. "Gala, you go too far!"

Kirk moved as quick as lightning his hand wrapping around galas throat. Lifting her slightly so that he had to look up to meet her eyes. From less than an inch away so close that he could feel the little puffs of her breath as she tried to breathe around his grip.

"Riley is right. You go too far. I may be your Captain here and not your Prince. That does not mean is your place to question what I do with My mate! You of all people know how insidious this thing is…" Kirk had to stop and take a breath. He was vaguely aware of somebody's hand hovering over his arm. He heard Riley say something and then the hand disappeared. Although he didn't know what because his focus was on not losing his shit entirely. "He's not reacting… Like those in the pits. I I tried…" Kirk saw her eyes widened and then turned sad. "The light?" He nodded. He set her back on her feet releasing her throat with the shuttering gasped. He was aware that he was starting to tremble. "I don't know why… He's not reacting like the others… I refuse to let history repeat itself. It's like it was with Tiggy… Because he's a hybrid? Because we're T'hy'la? I don't know and I don't care. I was an inexperienced kid than. An inexperienced kid who Tiggy didn't want to take advantage of. An… At least it wasn't… He wasn't brought up to be ashamed and fear… At least he had his first time with his Jim. He knew… He knew…" Kirk just shook his head. "I tried. When I heard that there was something going new Vulcan and Starfleet wasn't given the details. I had my suspicions… That it might have to do with pon farr… Was actually surprised it hadn't happened sooner. Or maybe it has, and they just kept it—"

Gala nods, "God forbid we talk about sex in public with other people. —

Kirk gives Gala a little shake. "He's a fucking virgin Gala! Well… When it comes to his choosing. Anyway, he's never been this would be his first pon farr…" Gala made a shock sound. She opened her mouth like she was going to ask something. Jim just shook his head. She took a firm hold of his arm. He felt another hand clamp on his shoulder. He turned his head to see Selek staring back at him. Kirk shook his head. He felt another smaller hand clamp on the other shoulder and was shocked to see that hand belonged to T'pau. "You really don't want to be touching me when she removes the chip. My shields may fall." Kirk looks directly at T'pau. I have nothing to hide, you will get the answer you wanted earlier. However, I cannot guarantee that you won't get more." "Worry not about me, James. I have been around. What was it you told the youngling I yes this won't be my first rodeo. I am not some initiate much like my elder grandson. I have trained in many arts including Kolinahr. Also like my grandson. I chose to forgo the final step. Do not worry about my stability. I'm sure thee know as consort to the matriarch the welfare of individuals in my clan is my concern. Especially one so important to my clan. This procedure is obviously going to be difficult. My grandson need your strength. So, if I can lend the aid I will."

Kirk nods. "As thy wills, eldest mother."

Kirk's eyes flicked back to Elder Spock.

"Do not let me fry your brain old man." Elder Spock nods solemnly. "As you wish… Who am I to defy James T Kirk?"

The room chuckles. Kirk takes a deep breath and nods to Gala. He watches the wand begin to glow as she touches it to his skin. The skin parts cleanly with no blood. He can't help but smile and wink at Bones. Whose eyes flicked to his face and then back to watching. "Here goes Jimmy. Just breathe, focus and breathe. Oh, and please don't croak on us. I don't want to face Lord Spock again. I don't think Savik could save us this time. With that she winked. Kirk was vaguely aware of some shocked gasps. He could hear the cadence of McCoy's voice. Though Not quite what he was saying. He was definitely unhappy about something. Then suddenly, there was pain so much pain, fear, and grief, pain and loss. He felt someone's arms come around him, Elder Spock. He could tell by the smell of green tea and Vulcan spices. That made him think of happy times with Elder Spock, Tiggy and Savik. And his Spock there few chess games. How cute it was when he was confounded by something Kirk said or pretended to be confounded when Kirk actually won with his totally illogical playing style. Spock… Spock needs him. Spock has been affected somebody attacked what's his. He has to help Spock. He thinks back to what happened on Tarsus. This is the same thing. How the hell did his Spock or any of the other Vulcan for that matter, get affected by this shit why does it work differently on his Spock. Or his Spock's mind. He is rapidly going through all his memories. He's vaguely aware of Lady T'pau there as well as Elder Spock. He can hear voices around him. The loudest being Bones.
