CHapter 5: The [Second] Search For Robyn

That night, at Figg's mansion, Jeannie was lying in bed, in the mansion's spare bedroom, which Figg had arranged for her when she'd arrived.

Suddenly, Figg burst in, looking worried. "Jeannie, get up at once!" she said, alerting her.

"Pristine, what's wrong?" Jeannie moaned, sitting up in bed. "It's 10 o'clock at night!"

"That brat Robyn's escaped again!" Figg exclaimed. "Lickboot will be here any minute to collect us to go and look for him."

"But I'm not even dressed!" Jeannie said.

"I don't care!" Figg snapped, "This is an emergency!"

"Oh, allright." Jeannie groaned, as she got up, put her slippers on, and followed Figg out.

Lickboot, Figg, and Jeannie rode up to the bridge in the city in their pyjamas and nightgowns in Lickboot's car. Lickboot stopped the car, and Figg, Jeannie and Lickboot got out, armed with torches, to find Robyn Starling. This was of course where the patrolman had found Robyn last night.

"This is where they found her last time." Figg said. "She'll come back here again. I'll stake everything I've got on it!"

And Lickboot said, "That's exactly what you're doing."

"Shut up, you twit!" Figg snapped.

At this time, Ferdinand rolled himself outta Lickboot's car to aid the search.

"Yoo-hoo, Robyn Starling!" Figg called, "It's your Aunt Figg, darling, come to take you home." Figg called.

Jeannie looked on the opposite side of the bridge to Figg and Lickboot, but couldn't see Robyn.

"Robyn?" she called. "Come out, come out wherever you are!"

Ferdinand saw Tom, Jerry, and Robyn rowing down the river on an old raft. He tried to tell Figg he'd spotted them, but due to his gibberish, she couldn't understand, and kicked his board away, thus sending him into the river, where he tried to get after them, but sunk under the water, due to his weight.

Figg, Lickboot, and Jeannie searched the bridge all night, but they had no luck. Jeannie, who had been searching under the bridge, suddenly noticed Ferdinand in the water. She threw a nearby life ring to him, and rescued him and his skateboard from the water.

"Oh, Ferdy." Jenanie said, "I think we'd better take you home before you catch your death of cold."

She climbed up the steps, to an awaiting Figg and Lickboot. "Any luck?" Figg asked her.

"Nope." said Jeannie, "Nothing. I think it's getting to dark to search any longer. I think we'll have to call it a night."

Figg agreed, as did Lickboot, so they set off back for the mansion.

Once they were back, Jeannie put Ferdinand to bed, then went to bed herself. "Oh, Robyn," she whispered to herself as she lay down, "I hope you're ok."
