Chapter 3 – Unhealthy Uchiha Obsession
"That's it?" Neji asked. "Our mission is to watch Sakura-san? What from?"
Tsunade sighed. "Do you know about Uchiha Itachi?"
Hinata winced, and hid behind her cousin.
"Uchiha Itachi? Isn't he Sasuke-san's older brother who murdered their whole clan except the two of them?" Tenten asked, sounding concerned. "What does he have to do with her? Is he after her?"
"No," Tsunade replied. "But you know how she's been since she found out Sasuke-kun's story. She says SHE will be the 'avenger' and kill Itachi, even though everyone know that's not going to happen and she'll end up dead."
"So we're going to make sure Sakura-san doesn't run away to try finding him, then," Neji concluded.
"That's basically it," Tsunade finally said. "Now go. She'll be more than happy to tell you what she knows about him, if there are any questions you have."
Sakura was taking a walk, trying to figure out a plan to get out of Konoha and take on Itachi. Suddenly, she heard someone call out her name.
"Sakura-chan?" Tenten asked.
Sakura turned around to face the other kunoichi. "Hey, Tenten, what's up?"
Tenten smiled awkwardly. "Well, I'm guessing you know why we're here..."
To this, Sakura smiled wickedly. "You guys here to protect little me from running away? From running away to face the big bad weasel? And squishing him to little bits and hanging the dead body on the top of Hokage's mansion and flashing his-"
"Yes, something like that," Neji said firmly, cutting her off - something that couldn't have been anything but good for their minds.
Sakura sighed. "What are you going to do to stop me? It's not like I'm just going to sit here and make a clay figure or something, and you know that."
"W-we could... maybe... go out f-for a w-walk?" Hinata suggested, looking down and fiddling with her fingers, as usual.
And so they did.
---
Yess!! This is the perfect opportunity to run away!
That had been Inner Sakura's first exclamation (inside Sakura's head of course) at the suggestion of going outside. No corners to put her in, no walls.
Well, that hadn't been exactly right, she soon found out.
Neji was on her left, Tenten on her right and Hinata behind her. Except for her front, she was STILL trapped. And she couldn't exactly expect them to let her dash out of sight straight forward.
Not like she had any better plan.
So she decided to, you guessed it, dash forward and try running away from them.
She wasn't even remotely when she found herself crashing into someone.
Was it Tenten? No, she wasn't that big. Hinata? No, she'd have screamed and fainted for sure. Neji? …She sure hoped not.
She fell backwards from the crash, and dusted off herself.
However, the sight of the person she had in fact crashed with somewhat distracted her as she looked up to face him.
"Huh, you're still in Konoha? Heard you'd be off to find me," Itachi smirked amused.
Sakura screamed. And she screamed again. And one more time.
"ITACHI!!!" She yelled, throwing herself over him.
Itachi caught her in his arms, giving her a big hug. Without letting go of her.
"LEMME GO LEMME GO LEMME GO!!" She screamed at the top of her lungs. After a while, though, her screams became silent whispers, and she eventually silenced.
Neji, Hinata and Tenten stared in shock at the kunoichi and the rogue ninja.
As Sakura after a while slowly started hugging back, anyone nearby had stopped to stare like idiots. This included, of course, Naruto, Sasuke and Kakashi.
Naruto had fainted from the sight of the much unexpected hug.
Kakashi had a faint nosebleed, but seemed unable to tear his eyes away. He seemed part jealous and part pleased, though nobody had any idea why. Not like any of them looked at anyone else than the hugging ninja.
Sasuke... Well, he was Sasuke. The sight of Itachi had made him instantly furious, the sight of Sakura made him want to back at once. Together, this made him not move an inch. But the sight of two people he really despised, HUGGING… No, that was too much for him to take.
"Sa… Sa… SAKURA?!" He stuttered. "How can you HUG HIM?! He's evil! He's enemy! You're supposed to kick his groin or something if this happens, not HUG BACK!"
Sakura finally looked up. "I finally get a hug from an Uchiha, don't disturb me. You never want to hug me anyway," she mumbled.
And Itachi smiled, and Kakashi smiled, and most of Konoha smiled.
Except for Sasuke. He did not smile. No, he did not smile at all.
Nor did Naruto. He hadn't woken up yet.
A/N: Well, just thought I'd update now since the next chappie I'm working on is LONG. I mean, seriously long. Until then, review folks! This chapter was requested by, and is dedicated to, my friend BT. Miss ya.
