Yeah, I said I'll have this done by the end of April yet here I am starting it on the 27th lol.

I really gotta say that Dr. STONE's ending song for season 3 is amazing, props to Okamoto's.

Anyways, here's chapter 3.

Chapter 3: Encounters

~~ June 3rd, 2019, 12:33 PM - Somewhere in Japan ~~

Natsuki Subaru, 17 years old, a shut-in NEET, or a hikikomori. It's been 3 months since he has last gone to school, and now he stays in his room for most of the day. However, today, he decided to go out to grab a few things, whether it be manga, food, or something else.

Getting out of bed for the first time today, Subaru goes through his standard morning routine: putting on his signature tracksuit, performing radio calisthenics, and getting something to eat.

After finishing up, Subaru made his way to the door. "Mom, I'm heading out for a bit. I'll be back later this evening."

"Alright, be safe Subaru. I love you." Natsuki Naoko, Subaru's mother, waved to him for what might be the last time.

~~ 33 Minutes Later - 1:08 PM ~~

Subaru walked down the road with his head down. "You are just like your father."

He kicked a rock out of frustration, thinking about the constant reminder people give him, that he is just like his father.

"Why? Why do I always have to be like my father?" He muttered to himself. Another thought crossed his mind as he continued walking. "Why do my parents still love me, despite how useless I am, they always say they love me…"

Subaru continued walking until he passed by the school he used to go to. "Three months, huh? I wonder if anyone still remembers me…"

~~ 1:10 PM ~~

"I guess I'll stop by that convenience store later, for now, I guess I could-"

Subaru stopped mid-sentence as he stared at the horizon, an ominous green light[1] rapidly approaching the area. "W-what the hell is that?"

He turned around to start running, he didn't know if he could outrun the light, but he didn't want to find out what would happen if he stayed. "No…"

Subaru could see the green light shining behind him, running won't help him. "Mom, Dad, I'm sorry…"

With those final words, Subaru with a fearful expression on his face, and the rest of all humans on Earth, were turned to stone.

~~ 3700+ Years Later - Ishigami Village ~~

Ruri has sat patiently by the phone for the past 6 hours, waiting to hear back from Senku and the others. Usually, the Perseus would contact the Village daily, however, Ruri suspected that something has gone wrong.

Ruri's father, Kokuyo walked up the steps of the priestess' hut to check on his daughter. "Ruri, I don't think they'll be contacting us today. You should get something to eat, you've been here almost all day."

"But father… I fear something has gone wrong. They always contact us, what reason would there be not to?" Ruri responded with worry.

Kokuyo sighed as he looked at his eldest daughter. "I don't understand science at all, but even Senku said that nothing is completely foolproof. If they don't contact us today, there's always tomorrow."

"Al-alright, I guess if don't today, they will tomorrow…" The blonde priestess said as she looked at the phone and back at her father. As she walked down the steps with her father, he spoke up.

"Jasper, Turquoise, if you hear the phone ringing, come get us," Kokuyo said to the two guards to which they nodded. "Don't worry, Ruri, I trust Senku with my life, he is one of the most capable men I've ever met."

As the father and daughter walked together, Ruri looked at the setting sun with a saddened expression. "Chrome… please be safe…"

?¬ネᄋꖎ↸- ̇/, Kingdom of Lugnica ~~

Silver hair, amethyst eyes, pale skin, and the ears of a half-elf, an uncanny resemblance to Satella, the Witch of Envy. Something Emilia has lived with for most of her life, something she wants to change if she is elected as the next ruler of Lugunica.

However, it is her appearance that has made gaining support so difficult. Walking down the street, she heard a few murmurs about her appearance, but one voice stood out in particular.

"Watch out!" A girl yelled from behind her, but before Emilia could turn around, she felt a hand reach into her robe's pocket, and pull out something. 'My insignia!' Emilia shouted in her head. Before she could react, it was already too late, the daft thief had already passed her.

Emilia outstretched her hand in an attempt to stop the thief but when she did, the thief's current pursuer crashed into her arm. Both of them were knocked to the ground as a result of their collision. Emilia opened her eyes to see who had run into her, the girl on the ground had blonde hair tied back, a rugged blue dress, strange earrings, blue eyes, and fair skin. On the blonde girl's back was a circular shield with a strange symbol, and a sheathed sword on her waist.

"What were you thinking?" The blonde grumbled. "I was so close to getting it…" The girl stopped herself before she finished that sentence. "Dammit!"

"I s-sincerely apologize. I didn't mean to!" Emilia said with a nervous demeanor. Her eyes widened as she quickly remembered what the thief just stole from her. "My insignia! That girl stole my insignia."

The two girls got up and as they did, the blonde pushed her earring closer to her ear as if she was listening to it. Emilia could've sworn she heard someone's voice coming from her earring. She glanced up and down at the blonde, noticing a scrape on her elbow from their collision.

"Umm… you're hurt, I-"

Before Emilia could finish, the blonde interrupted her. "You said that girl stole something from you, right?" Emilia nodded in affirmance. "How about we help each other out since she stole something from me as well?"

"I- Are you fine with that? I guess it makes sense…"

"Why wouldn't I be? If we are going to work together, don't be too slow." The blonde said as she rubbed her scrapped elbow. "By the way, my name is Kohaku."

Emilia hesitantly looked at Kohaku before speaking again. "I'm… Satella…"

"Well, Satella…" Emilia flinched as Kohaku spoke. "Let's go get that thief."

"Umm… okay..." Emilia was confused, 'She didn't even flinch when I said my name was Satella. Does she not know?' Emilia thought to herself as the two girls started walking down the street in the same direction as the thief.

Felt jumped from rooftop to rooftop with a smirk on her face. 'Score! I can't believe I nabbed these so easily. I should make some good money with this!' She thought to herself as she landed in an alleyway.

She noticed three strangely dressed men in the alley, similar to what the people on that ship wore.

"Hey, is that the girl?!" One of the men with a stone piece over his eye yelled. "Hurry and call Senku!" The man said with a grin.

The large blonde man took a cone off the metal box on his back and started speaking into it. "Mwa-ha ha, Senku, we found that thief! Who knew it would be so easy!"

The man with the stone piece over his eye and another short man approached Felt. "Now, just stand still. We ain't gonna hurt you if we don't have to."

"Right!" The short man commented.

"Sorry, don't have time for this!" Felt responded as she ran toward them. "Live strong!" She said with a thumbs up before jumping onto a rooftop.

"Uh… she… just jumped up there…" The man stared dumbly at the rooftop where Felt jumped up to. "Shit."

"Dammit, Yo!" The large blonde man yelled as he turned away from the metal box. "You let them get away!"

"Shut it, you primitive dunce!" Yo retorted, pointing at Magma. "You did nothing here, you-"

The two were cut off by Senku yelling over the phone. "Can you two shut it?! You're going to break the speakers over here!" Senku grumbled. Things have not been going well on his end, everyone on the Persues has been feeling anxious, and the knights standing guard around the ship didn't seem to help.

They've yet to hear about what they have done to Ryusui after they took him in, interestingly enough, Francois disappeared around the same time Ryusui was taken in. "For now, just focus on trying to catch that thief. Damn, who knew being in another world would be this much of a pain in the ass." Senku joked. "Just don't do anything that'll draw unnecessary attention."

As Senku hung up, the three heard a voice speak from behind them. "What are you babbling about?" In response, Magma, Yo, and Mantle turned around to see three other people.

"If you don't wanna get hurt, cough up whatever you've got!" The pale-haired man in the middle said.

The two short men stared at each other, as did the two large and muscular men, and the two lankier men in the middle. "Huh…" All six men seemed to say at the same time.

"Halt!" A feminine voice said from behind the three thugs. "If you return what is mine, you will not get in trouble."

"If you refuse, I won't hesitate to slit your throats!" Another female voice said; A voice that the Kingdom of Science's moronic trio recognized.

"Kohaku?" Magma questioned.

Stepping into view, the athletic blonde looked at the three she recognized. "Oh, it's just you…" She said with a disappointed tone.

"Harsh!" Mantle commented.

"Yeah, yeah…" The brute grumbled.

"Hey, Kohaku…. My friend," Yo exclaimed with an awkward smile. "So… I have some, y'know, bad news I guess."

"You let the thief get away," Kohaku deadpanned. "Senku gave me the radio earrings before I went after her."

The trio of thieves standing off to the side quickly realized that they have been outnumbered and completely forgotten. Taking this as a sign to leave, the three decided to sneak off elsewhere.

"Radio earrings?" Emilia tilted her head as she looked at her blonde companion.

"Yeah, with these earrings, I can listen to distant voices," Kohaku explained. "But I'll leave Senku to explain the rest."

"Senku? Is he another one of your companions?" The half-elf questioned.

"Yes, he is, and our leader," Turning to face Yo, Magma, and Mantle, Kohaku spoke again. "We should probably continue our search, you three idiots are coming with us."

With a group of five in pursuit of the blonde thief, things were starting to look better for the Kingdom of Science. It also seems luck has blessed another one of their crew mates.

Staring at the red-haired knight in front of him, Ryusui smiled as he held out his hand. "Reinhard van Astrea, it truly has been a pleasure to meet you."

"Please, Reinhard is fine," The knight responded with a smile as he shook Ryusui's hand. "I'll make sure your situation is taken care of Ryusui, after all, I know that I can trust you."

Earlier, as Ryusui along with Francois was being escorted by the two guards, they just so happened to run into the off-duty Sword Saint. Quickly striking up a conversation with Ryusui, Reinhard relieved the two guards of this task. After getting a good understanding of their situation, Reinhard concluded that the captain was a trustworthy person.

"Ryusui-sama, I do believe that we should head back to the Perseus," Francois said with a bow before looking to the knight. "Thank you very much, Astrea-sama."

'SNAP!' "Until we meet again, Reinhard," Ryusui said with a grin. "If you ever happen to need a captain, you know who to ask."

As Ryusui and his butler traveled back to their ship, the Sword Saint smiled. "It's quite fascinating to see such an experienced sailor here," Reinhard turned to face the two guards that were initially escorting Ryusui.

"So… do we get a bonus for this?" The second guard asked. "I mean… we've been working hard, right?"

"Are you crazy?!" The first one argued with his partner. "You can't just ask the Sword Saint for a bonus!"

"But I think we deserve it!"

Chuckling a bit at the guards' antics, Reinhard smiled. "Unfortunately, I am off duty today, so I can not really help you there."

Back on the Perseus, Tsukasa held a necklace in his hand. On the necklace were neatly strung pink seashells along with a metal locket. Flipping it open, Tsukasa looked at the black and white picture[2] inside of it. "Mirai…"

Just before Tsukasa left with the Perseus, he took a picture with his younger sister, Mirai. The martial artist looked down at the picture with a sorrowful look before closing the locket and tying the string around his neck. "Your brother will return…"

"We'll find a way…" Tsukasa heard a familiar voice behind from behind him. Turning around to greet Senku, he smiled. "Because that's what we've always done."

The two exchanged smiles as a third voice boosted through the canal the ship was lodged in.

"AH-HA! Your captain has returned!" Ryusui proclaimed as he jumped onto the ship's deck followed by Francois. "And I return with good news."

Senku faced Ryusui, with a slight grin. "Let's hear it then, I'm sure we're all just dying to find out."

'SNAP!' "I ran into one of the Royal Knights, truly a gentleman," The blonde captain started. "After a nice talk, he let us go, telling me that he trusted us."

"Which means we can finally get off this ship…" Senku finished.

"Does that mean…" Chrome said as a smile grew on his face. "That we can finally explore this new world!"

"This will be interesting-yay," Gen commented with his hands in his sleeves. "Not all of us will be going, right, Senku-chan?"

"Right, you are, mentalist," Senku replied. "We'll be splitting up into four teams. The first is the group that has already left. The next is the crew staying behind for now. After that comes the first recon group, followed by a backup team."

Standing before the crew gathered in front of him, Senku raises his fist in the air. The Kingdom of Science was about to officially step foot into this new world.

End: Chapter 3

"Yo! Mecha Senku here with more trivia from this chapter!"

[1] "The petrification event occurred on June 3rd, 2019, at approximately 1:10 PM in Japan. It appears in the first chapter of the Dr. STONE manga, and the first episode of the anime."

[2] "This photograph Tsukasa carries was made using a Daguerreotype Camera. These first appear in chapter 93 in the manga and in episode 2 of season 3 in the anime."

"That's all from me! Mecha Senku out!"

June! It's almost June and I had planned to get this out before April ended.

Oh well, don't have a time machine…

On another note, it's been really difficult writing this story. Mostly because of all of the different perspectives I'm trying to convey. I think that once I finish this arc, it'll be a lot easier.

Also, I plan on working on this story bi-weekly and using the other weeks to work on my other fic, Devil of Zero.

Please leave any reviews or questions, feedback is one of the biggest motivations in making stories.

This is Pyrite, signing off once again.
