"In three words I can sum up everything I've learned about life. It goes on." -Robert Frost
Mia smiled excitedly as she looked at herself in the mirror. She was wearing a simple pink dress for the wedding. She looked around her bedroom for her shoes. Despite the fact she was currently living in a dorm room, her bedroom still housed most of her things until she had an apartment of her own. She found her pink shoes and slipped them on.
Downstairs, Terry was tying his tie. He heard someone knock on the door and walked over. "Coming." He opened it and raised his eyebrows. "Can I help you?"
"Hi, I'm here for Mia."
"Aren't they all. Come on in I guess." Terry stepped aside and let his sister's date in. "Mia!" he yelled. "Your guy is here!" He turn around and looked at Seth. "I'm Terry. Mia's brother."
"Hi, I'm Seth," Seth said, shaking Terry's hand.
Mia came downstairs and smiled. "Hi."
"Hi. Wow, you look beautiful."
"Thank you." Mia hugged him. "You look pretty good yourself."
Terry rolled his eyes. He'd never been much of a romantic himself, but seeing some guy he'd just met ogling over his sister was strange. He went looking for his shoes as his parents came downstairs.
"You must be Mia's date," Travis said. He sized Seth up as he shoo his hand. "I'm her father."
"Nice to meet you Mr. Watanabe, sir."
"And I'm her mother," Sophia smiled, shaking Seth's hand as well.
"You look lovely Mrs. Watanabe."
"Thank you Seth."
Seth decided that the meeting had gone reasonably well, but wondered how and why Mia suddenly had a brother and parents she'd never told him about. He decided maybe right now wasn't the best time to ask and just put his arm around her instead. Mia smiled and leaned on him a little bit.
Sophia have Travis a look as he glanced at the pink sheathed katana on the wall. "Don't," she whispered. "You promised you'd behave, remember?"
"I do. This one had better be a step-up form the last bastard she dated."
"Travis."
"Sorry. Just saying. I considered allowing Terry to commit first-degree murder."
"As if encouraging him to do something that got him suspended wasn't bad enough."
"Alright," Terry announced, not completely oblivious to his parents' conversation. "Let's get this show on the road. Cam's a stickler for being on time for stuff, and he'll blow a gasket if his own flesh and blood is late."
"I don't know, giving him an ulcer on his wedding day would be terribly funny," Mia smiled.
"Come on children," Sophia sighed.
"Terry, you can feel free to sit between Mia and Seth," Travis said.
"Nice try Dad, but we'll go in Mom's car," Mia replied, grabbing Seth's hand.
"Can I ride with you guys then?" Terry asked. "It'll be a lot cooler than having to have my parents drive me."
"Well...ok."
The five of them left the house, Mia bouncing with excitement.

Mia led Seth into the room where the ceremony was taking place. "I'm so happy for Cam."
"So how exactly is he related to you?" Seth asked.
"Believe it or not, our family is really strange. Our mom and Cam's mom were sisters. My mom was the younger one. They married Kanoi and Travis Watanabe, my dad. Also the younger sibling."
"Weird. How did they even meet?"
"Uh...my parents met at Uncle Kanoi and Aunt Miko's wedding." Mia was pretty sure she wasn't supposed to mention that her aunt and uncle and met at ninja school.
"At least your family is interesting," Seth said. "Mine is as ordinary as they get."
"So is Cam and his parents the only family you guys have?" Seth asked as they went to their seats.
"Um...well...my dad supposedly had another brother, but no-one's heard from him in years and years. Like way before Cam, Terry, and I were even born. Terry doesn't even think he actually existed."
"Like I said, way more interesting than my family."
Mia smiled and looked around. She saw Cam standing at the later and waved to him. He smiled and nodded his head at her. She saw a tan boy standing next to Cam. Mia looked at the other side of the alter and recognized her cousin's husband to be, Hunter. The person standing next to him, his best man, she supposed, was shouter than him. They kept nudging each other happily. Another boy, this one had a stylish yellow tie, was standing next to Hunter's best man. Mia looked back at Cam's side and saw a blonde woman standing next to Cam's best man.
"So who exactly put of the people standing up there is your cousin marrying?" Seth asked.
"Hunter Bradley," Mia said pointing. "They've known each other for a while."
"Well they would have to have if three getting married," Seth pointed out. Mia smiled and elbowed him. The ceremony started and Mia found it was really enjoyable. Cam looked happier than she'd seen him in a while. The man with the yellow tie handed the ring off to Hunter's best man, but not before dropping it. The blonde woman and Cam's bets man both giggled. Cam shook his head in a way Mia recognized Jayden using with Mike when he was goofing off.
But that want the only small disaster of the day. When it was Cam's turn with the ring, his best man nudged him, making him drop it. The blonde woman volunteered to pick it up and Mia saw Terry trying not to laugh.
"Does this count as bad luck, like the groom not seeing the bride in the dress kind of bad luck?"
"Maybe," Mia said as things got back on track.
The last little disaster came when Cam and Hunter lawns in to kiss and Hinter tipped in something, falling onto Cam. The two men laughed and Cam kissed him anyways. Mia giggled a everyone stood.
"And they say weddings are boring," Seth whispered to her. "That was by far the most entertaining ceremony I've ever seen."
Everyone made their way outside for the reception and Mia made a beeline for her cousin. "Cam!"
"Mia!" he smiled, hugging her. He squeezed her tight, and Mia returned the squeeze.
"Congratulations," she beamed. She smiled at Hunter and gave him a hug too. "Welcome to the family Hunter."
"Thanks," he smiled. "I'm excited about it."
"And I see you brought a date," Cam nodded.
"Cam, this is Seth. Seth, this is Cam."
"Nice to meet you," Seth smiled.
"You too," Cam replied. "So where's Terry, Aunt Sophia, and Uncle Travis?"
"Around here somewhere I'm sure. Your ceremony was beautiful."
"It would've been better if someone hadn't dropped the ring," Cam said. Said offender cam up behind him and put his arm around his friend.
"You guys talking about me?"
"Mia, this is my- our friend Dustin. Dustin this is my cousin Mia."
"Hey."
"Hi. I should warn you two, Tori and Blake are looking for you."
On cue someone came up and practically tackled Hunter. "Congratulations bro!"
"Blake, you're a grown man," Hunter complained. "Stop actions like we're teenagers."
Cam chuckled. "Tori I thought you were getting him a leash?"
"He out ran me," said the blonde woman Mia had seen earlier.
"Mia, this is Blake, hunter's brother, and Tori, his wife. Also friends of mine."
"Must be hard keeping up with Cam," Mia said.
"You can't really keep up with Cam, you more just follow him," Tori smiled.
Cam's best man joined the party, putting an arm around Cam. "Congratulations man. Now two-thirds of us are married."
"We're moving up in the world. Mia this is Shane. Shane, this is my cousin Mia."
"His favorite cousin. This is my date Seth."
"Sorry about bumping into you," Shane said.
"At least you didn't fall on him," Blake joked.
"Quiet," Hunter replied.
"I'm sure you have other people to talk to," Mia said. "I'll send my parents and Terry your way."
"Great. Did he bring a date?" Cam asked.
"Nope."
"Ah well. You two have a good time now."
"Not too much of a good time though," Hunter smiled. Cam took his hand and then group dispersed.
"I like your cousin," Seth nodded. "Nice guy."
"He used to be a lot worse," Mia said. "But never mind that now. Let's go get some food."
"Sounds awesome!" Seth said giving her a side hug. "Let's do it."
Mia grinned. "There's hope for us yet."

Antonio looked through the mail and raised his eyebrows when he saw one form him. "¿Qué pasa en el mundo?" What in the world?
"What" Lauren asked.
Antonio sat down as he read the letter. "My grandfather died."
"Oh." Jayden and Tiara looked up and gave him a look.
"Weird."
"I'm sorry," Tiara said.
"It's so strange though, I've never met the guy."
"How?" Jayden asked.
"Well, it's my dad's father. They had a huge fight when my dad was like sixteen. He ran away form home and as far as I know they've never spoken to each other since." He sighed and looked at the letter again. "Just listen:
"Dear Antonio,
I know you don't know who I am, but my name is Gabriella Garcia. My son, Aáron Garcia is your father. I'm writing to inform you that your grandfather, Antonio-Roberto had passed away. I know we don't know you, but it would mean a lot if you would attend his funeral next week. We also have some business to discuss with you that we think you would be interested in. I hope you can make the trip and we all look forward to seeing you.
All my love,
Gabriella, your Grandmother."
"Sounds pretty serious," Jayden said. "Are you going?"
"Well...I don't know. I mean, I don't even know them. But they are blood, and my dad always told me I need to put my family first." He sighed. "Looks like I'm heading to Costa Rica. You coming mì amor?"
"Go on a trip with you?"
"Sure. I'd feel better having someone there with me."
"It's a sweet offer, but I think you should do this alone. Besides, I don't even speak Spanish."
Antonio sighed. "Can't blame a guy for trying. Ok, I have to get booking a flight. Man this day started out so normal."
