Chapter 2

100 years in the past

Charles O'brady was in the middle of a convoy with a small platoon of soldiers and the other researcher heading toward the capital of New Mexico, Sante Fe. There were reports about a strange green thing dropping from the sky. A team of undercover personnel were sent in earlier to identify the unknown and whether it was safe to approach or not. Once they achieved their objective, site-6 was sent in. Next to him, the researcher Dr Riley Travesc was reading through earlier notes. He could not understand how she was able to read in a moving vehicle. Thinking about it, gave him a headache.

Based on the information they had, it wasn't much. Once they get to the site, more can be figured out. It didn't take long for the convoy to approach the site. The small squad stepped out of the vehicle and moved towards a tent. A group of soldiers were trying to keep civilians away and could be overheard threatening that they could and would shoot anyone who got too close. Charles was second to last to step out followed by Travesc. He spoke, not really to anyone else, "Why is it that I always get stuck with the alien crap? Just once I'd like to research something mind bending you know? Like that weird room site-17 found."

Even though she knew he wasn't speaking to her, Riley retorted, "One day we will. But we have to pay our dues first since we are new. Who knows, this could be a big find that could push us to the forefront to the bigger jobs." She made her way to the tent because she didn't want to waste time standing around. She wanted to jump into the research.

Charles followed after his partner on this job. When he opened the tent, he looked down at the object that warranted such hustle. He wasn't impressed, commenting, "It looks tiny to me." Upon closer inspection after putting on his gear, he saw something that piqued his interest, "Huh, it looks like there is a motherboard in there."

Barely listening as she worked with it, she responded, "I wouldn't touch it without tools. We don't know what it is capable of. It may look like a motherboard, but what is the key element to them? Create power." She eyed the board from a distance, "And it looks like there is a through hole and surface mount parts on it as well as an energy giving device. It, by itself, has the ability to create and produce power. Goddess I hope this thing isn't cognizant."

"It looks pretty incognizant to me," Charles responded, grabbing a geiger counter. He goes to move it over the thing and when he saw the readings\, he commented, "Holy shit! This thing is spiking! We should all be dead at this moment!"

Riley stood, glancing at the geiger counter herself, and commented with the most viable explanation, "It must be malfunctioning. There is no way the readings are that high without causing serious issues with the surrounding vegetation. Grab the one from my bag and we will get better readings."

Charles grabbed the other device and was getting the same readings. "The reading is still increasing," He said. "This thing must be giving off all kinds of power to get these numbers." He glanced at the motherboard and thought it was just a trick of the eye when he saw it move. Immediately, he grabbed Riley and moved away from the objective. The unknown continued to grow.

Without missing a beat, Riley withdrew a camera and started recording what was happening, "What we are seeing now, we are unsure, but the objective that we were sent out to identify is changing into something else. If it is hostile, we have no idea. But hopefully not," She said into the camera. She looked at Charles, "Something we can look at if we cant get other information. Make sure you record those geiger count numbers if possible. I want it documented."

"How can we document when the numbers have not stopped going up?" Charles countered. Soldiers raced into the room and aimed at the unknown variant.

The Chief walked in and saw, "Fire!" The soldiers all start firing at the unknown. The bullets were not doing any damage, instead it seemed to be making the unknown stronger because it started to dramatically grow.

Seeing what was happening, Riley yelled, "Stop! You are making the issue worse! We need to contain it before it gets out of hand." Before any of the soldiers can respond, a tentacle grabbed hold of one. Riley was unsure of what was happening, but she saw the changes in the soldiers before the unknown tore the soldier apart then placed the body back together.

She overheard Charles' horrified voice, "Oh god!" She couldn't comprehend what was going on before she felt an arm pull her along. Charles had grabbed her and shouted at her, "We have to run!" He shoved her ahead of himself. They did not get much further before Charles was grabbed and pulled back meeting the same fate as the soldiers.

"No!" Riley cried out and tried to reach for him, but he was already too far. Having to abandon him, she turned and ran without giving it another thought. Behind her, the alien was attacking everyone, civilian and otherwise, in the vicinity. From what she heard, the unknown specimen was putting every single one of them through different types of hell just to study them. It was then that she began to notice that the ones that were studied began to follow it mindlessly as it continued to move through town.

Unbeknownst to her, a reunified Charles had stood. The creature must have assumed he was dead because it left him and moved on. How long ago that was was unknown to him. Charles shuddered as memories of the creature ran through his head as well as its dream of paradise. He wasted no time running from the scene trying to find someone, anyone. Hopefully Riley wasn't caught.

Riley made it to a temporary safe distance. She made it into a small tent and was trying to develop a plan to contain the anomaly. With unconscious speed, she gathered supplies together at a workstation. She had found various components that can be used to weaken a powered up motherboard and a chamber to contain it. As she thought through vast amounts of plans that she could use to entrap the thing. The first one she thought of was for the chamber to be able to flatten and then come up and around the unknown. Once she had everything together, she left the tent and started setting her trap. When she finished, she took off to draw the creature in.

It didn't take long to get the thing's attention and immediately it was heading in her direction. Wasting no time, she turned and took off running towards the trap. Desperately, she hoped that she would make it, but could feel herself tiring out. She wasn't used to physical activity. Behind her, she heard the creature still coming after and every second sounded like it was still growing bigger. When she neared the trap, she leapt over it and turned hoping that the creature would keep moving. Instead, she saw that some of the mindless drones that followed it were the ones to land in the trap. Cursing, Riley backed up and watched in horror as the anomaly hit the trap, trying to set the drone free.

She backed up more to keep running, but felt something grab her shoulder and pull her into a tiny alcove. Before she could scream, she felt a hand cover her mouth. She was thankful for it when she saw the creature and its drones run past the alcove. Moving deeper into the alcove, she heard Charles whisper, "Riley. We were wrong. She's not trying to kill us. No. She's trying to give us a paradise."

Surprised by hearing Charles' voice when she saw him die, she whispered, "I saw you die." When she heard his explanation, she exasperatedly questioned, "Paradise? What sense of paradise can come from turning a bunch of people into mindless drones and destroying everything that is around it? That is some messed up version of paradise. No. What needs to be done is having that damn thing contained before it destroys the entire world. Nothing less will stop it."

As if he was one of the mindless drones, he continued on saying, "Yes. Paradise. And she can somehow undo everything. But that is not important. That's what I am trying to tell you! She's not going to kill us! Her idea of paradise is floating through an unending void for all eternity. She's going to take away every humans' ability to age and die and destroy the planet so that we all float through space for all eternity."

"Then we need to put a stop to this before it gets much further." Riley responded.

"I agree. Her version of paradise cannot happen. But the regular means won't work. We need to make something specifically for it. If it is a living motherboard, then we need to make something that works as a massive constant EMP." Charles suggested.

"Kind of like an upgraded version of my attempt at making a chamber? How do you suggest we go about doing that? There isn't much still here that has not been destroyed." Riley responded.

"I.. don't know. But we need to make sure it cannot absorb it and doesn't add to its mass. …And make sure it doesn't leave Sante Fe." Riley heard Charles say. Based off what he said, everything in their list of to do's was a tall order. It seemed like a lot for two people to handle on their own without much help. She watched as he withdrew an emergency button. A button, that once pushed, will trap everything within the capital with a clear glass case, including themselves.

Knowing it was a risk and what they had to do for any breaches, Riley nodded, making her decision, "Do it. We will figure this out and make sure it cannot be set free." She thought for a moment, "We need to get to my makeshift lab that I used. It is about five clicks southwest." He clicked the button and watched as a glass dome structure fell around them. Where it started or finished wasn't easily seen, but she could guess where it was. She heard Charles' whisper, "Let's just hope that she hasn't found it already." The two took off running for lab

After ducking and weaving around various objectives, they made it to the lab. They saw how the creature was traveling around the enclosed area, realizing that it was trapped. Immediately, Riley started gathering supplies for a chamber, but she was stopped by Charles, "A chamber won't work. She is too smart for any trap we can set. We will need to make something inconspicuous enough that she won't be fooled. It also has to be made out of something that she can't absorb, like concrete or steel." Riley nodded and went to think of something else. After a minute, she was moving on autopilot to accomplish it. It wasn't until Charles interrupted her again that she realized what she built, "What is that?"

She answered, "I went on auto based on everything you had told me. It is a concrete base and made to not conduct electricity. I have it set to a temp inside over 35 degrees celsius. I'm hoping head will help slow it down and stop. It won't even be able to absorb energy through the device itself." She lifted it and looked at Charles, "Anything else we should add?"

"That thing won't be able to hold a charge forever. We need to have a failsafe for when it's about to die." Charles threw in.

"We catch and then lock it up in the lower pits of the facility with multiple doors and locks in place. Only high clearance individuals will know it is there." Riley said. She wrote notes down and placed them in a file. She looked at Charles as she placed the device in a lockbox with the file. "It might not die, that is the issue. We might only be able to halt it for now till more tech is made to defeat it. We don't have the tech to accomplish it."

"But that is the thing. There's no guarantee they'll find it on their own. And we won't be alive to tell them." Charles told her, but he didn't want their imminent deaths to discourage her. But he knew there was no chance of them surviving.

Riley looked back, "Then we have to hope that they will be able to come up with something. We can leave them as much info as we can about what happened here today and it will have to be enough. Something is better than nothing." Riley sighed as she whispered, "And I knew when I took this job that the possibility of dying was a real idea. I've come to terms a long time ago and will still stand and fight. I just hope that my information will be enough to stop it from getting this bad again. We can only do what we can even if it is only temporary in the long run."

"Then I suggest placing a beacon in the box. Once it is low enough, have it contact the foundation. If anything else, we need to make sure this thing gets contained if the slab doesn't hold it long enough." Charles suggested. Riley nodded, placing one. She stood tall and spoke, "I'm ready. Let's go." He nodded, "Now, the question is, how do we get it on the thing?"

Riley smirked, hiding the box, before saying, "I have a plan already." She took off running without any more of an explanation and got to one of the taller buildings. She pulled the device out and began running. When she reached the ledge, she leapt into the air towards the thing. When she reached a good distance, she attached the device to the closest area she could reach. As she continued falling, she hit the button to activate it. The reaction of activating the device was instantaneous as she heard the thousand cries of the drones and the creatures itself. It all signified the agony that every single one of them faced. In the mix was also Charles' cry of agony. In response to the pain, Riley felt the anomaly attached to her and felt the intense barrage of what the thing considered paradise to try to get her to defer her plan. Fighting the barrage, Riley yelled and kept the device on. Pain coursed through her as she did.

After a few minutes, she felt the creature fall away from her and heard hundreds of bodies hit the ground. She hit the ground hard after the attack was done. Weakly, Riley saw that the creature was growing smaller and smaller, returning to its original size. Charles presses the button making the glass dome open. Laying next to each other, Riley felt him grab her hand before everything went black.

Present Day

Katana hadn;t stopped the research into the power outage that took place years ago. At some point during her research, she ventured into SCP-003 and an unknown case that has never been opened. There was no record of information of whose it was and how it came to be in this facility. The only thing that she did know was that 05-10 was adamant about never opening the lock box. His reasoning was that no one was sure if it was actually safe. Despite the many tests that were ran on it, 05-10 never felt sure enough. She read through the documents on how the lockbox was first found. It was lying next to 003, but the site and everyone that was there were gone. Vanished. No traces were left. Site-6 never made the connection that the disappearances to the power outage. Call it a spontaneous idea or ludicrous, but Katana couldn't let go of the matter that the two could be connected. Despite how outlandish it was. Though she understood why the connection was never made, the two sites weren't even remotely close to each other.

While doing her research, she had the lockbox checked out to look out. She had set it up in an empty room next to her office. Just in case 05-10 was correct about the danger, she really didn't want to destroy her office. It wasn't her only one. She had one at every facility because of how often she is traveling between sites, but it would really put a damper on things for her.

She had a few tools next to her and was running a variety of tests, trying to configure if the box was truly safe. When the tests didn't read anything she assumed it was safe. Nothing spiked. Now she would have to prove her findings to 05-10 that the box was, in fact, safe. As she went to move on to do more in depth testing, she was informed by a tech that a soldier, Sarah and a council member had arrived. "Which council member?" Katana asked.

"05-07 Ma'am. He came to oversee the movement of several SCPS with the soldier. Upon his words, she got the notification on her phone that a council member had arrived. She knew that she wouldn't be the only one. She set her items down and went to step out in the hall. As she walked away, she locked the door not wanting to leave an unsupervised item in easy reach. When she reached the main lobby, she saw 05-07, a man of roughly two hundred fifty pounds and towered over her dressed in business casual. 'He is obviously over six foot.' It was one of the few council members that she did not regularly interact with, but she felt an off vibe of how overly friendly he was. Almost as if it was a mask for a deeper personality. Shaking off her assumptions, maybe this would be what she needed to get the approval to open the box.

As she stepped up, she felt his gaze fall upon her. She spoke, jumping right to the point, "Sir, welcome to the facility. Sorry to cut to the chase, but it is a matter of importance. In my investigations, I uncovered a box that could be linked to the power outage. I know the restrictions placed on the item won't allow for me to just open it, but every test that I have done showed that there is no present danger." Katana explained.

Before she could say anything else, 05-07 let out a chuckle, "I might be a council member, but Katana you still have to be specific which box you are referring to."

"Sorry sir. It is for the box that was found with SCP-003," Katana clarified. She could have smacked herself in the forehead for not being specific.

"Ah. That box." She watched as his face became serious as he continued to talk, "05-10 made it very clear that they do not want that box opened. You have to give me a strong enough reason for me to approve opening that case."

"While performing all the tests for the lockbox, scans didn't read anything dangerous coming off it. I feel strongly that the objects in the box are important. If they tie into 003 in anyway, it will provide us more information in regards to 003." Katana explained, "There could be first hand knowledge in that lockbox that would prove to be useful."

05-07 nodded, "The power outage was just a power failure. But you seem very sure that there is something amiss. I'll allow it, but Katana, you won't be going in alone." He sighed and continued on on a lighter note, "Maybe this will give us a way to move it."

"Sounds fair, but if the documents prove my theory then it will be worth it to find out," Katana responded.

"Very well, you have my approval, Katana. Sarah will go with you if you do not want to wait for me," Katana watched as he continued to move down the hallway to move the SCPs that were with them.

Before she could turn, she heard Sarah comment, "So, do I get to do my job or watch you open a box?"

Chuckling at the bluntness, she responded, "I'm going to go open the box. You can come with me as I don't plan on forcing you, but it will be you who gets into trouble for disregarding safety protocol. The sooner this is done, the sooner we can go home," She turned to head back to the room, but didn't miss the guard rolling her eyes. Ignoring the gesture, Katana headed back to the office with the guard on her heels. Without wasting time, she slipped on gloves and began by unclasping the locks. She took the time to make sure nothing would happen before proceeding on picking the locks. That part didn't take any time at all and was all set to lift the lid.

"Wait. You sure this isn't going to blow up or some shit?" Sarah asked behind her.

"Can you not do that? If you have a question, you know there are better ways to get my attention. Not startling me in a moment of discovery," Katana responded, still set to lift the lid. "But to answer your question, I am sure. The bigger of these boxes seems like a containment chamber. The smaller was most likely used to hold and keep info safe."

"If you say so, but if it is all the same to you, I am staying back here," She heard the guard move a few steps away from her.

Katana didn't have an issue with it and proceeded on. She lifted the lid and just like she had been saying, it was nothing but documents and a tape. Withdrawing the paperwork, she skimmed through it as best as she could. The paperwork was definitely aged and from her first guess looked to be a hundred years old. While glancing at the paperwork, she asked Sarah without even looking up, "Can you grab me an old tape recorder? I want to know what is on that tape." In minutes, she had one set on the table still slightly covered in dust from not being used. Looking up, she watched as Sarah dusted it off a bit and turned it facing away from her. "Don't want to see what is on it?"

"I'd rather not be hypnotized, thank you very much. The job is hard enough as it is and I really, really don't need the added difficulty," Sarah responded.

Katana nodded and proceeded to put the tape in. What was on the tape caused her to look in astonishment. She saw everything that took place just before they acquired 003. She heard a woman speaking, probably a researcher, explaining what they were working on. Then she saw when shit hit the fan and things had gotten out of control. At a loss for any words, she looked at Sarah and said the only thing that came through her head, "Get 05-07 in here right now."

At her voice, Sarah turned catching glimpses of the video, "Oh damn that was brutal. Right away." She left, running out to go retrieve the council member.

When Sarah and 05-07 came back in the room, Katana showed him the tape, "What do you make of this?"

Katana waited for an answer from 05-7 and it came after a few minutes, "That… proves it! Site-6s missing research team! They're connected to 003! But other than that… I can't see anything helpful. I wonder why we couldn't tell this was an SCP box?"

Katana shrugged in regards to the last part, but answered the other, "There's a bunch of notes about containment and a first hand written explanation of what took place. Written by the researcher named Riley T. Said that they were called to the site to investigate an unknown sentient that fell into the area. I couldn't get much further as the pages were worn. I may be able to translate or find a way to transfer what is on these so that it is legible, but it will take time."

"This will be good to add—" Before 05-7 could continue, lights went out throughout the entire base.

"Oh sh—!" Sarah cursed. Immediately, Katana watched as she withdrew her walkie talkie and tried to get a response, "Everyone? Do any of you have eyes on 173 or 003?!" The only thing Katana could hear in response was someone screaming and the sound of something breaking. Sarah then spoke, "Shit.. 173 is out."

Katana couldn't help but curse. That was going to make containing this much more difficult. Closing everything up, she lifted the lockbox and moved to her office next door. She transferred everything to a carrier case for easy transfer. Once she had the documents and tape safely put away, she stepped into the hall. Feeling like she already wasted enough time, she was already moving. The first objective would be to contain 173. They didn't need something that would snap their necks if they weren't looking at it. As she moved, she heard Sarah order, "Announce when you blink, 173 only moves when nobody is looking at it. We need to get 05-7 to the transport, then we can get to work on fixing this mess. Again. Speaking of which." She sees a soldier run in, "Sir, I need you to get 05-7 out of here while we deal with 003. What is the status of 173?" Katana only listened, allowing the soldier to operate. She would do her own thing.

"It's loose in the facility somewhere ma'am." The new recruit responded.

"Great. Keep your eyes open, use some D-Class to get it into containment after you get 05-7 out of here." Sarah ordered.

The thought of using D-class infuriated Katana and she was ready to say something to the soldier, but knew she wouldn't win the argument. They were used to sacrificing the lowest class. She would try to change that when she could.

"Yes ma-am," He takes the research lead and the council member away, taking them to transport.

"Katana, you're with me. 003 is probably growing already." Sarah ordered towards her.

With a huff of annoyance at being ordered around like a recruit, Katana nodded, "Alright. Let's move." She followed after Sarah quickly, but was forced to stop when she heard Sarah command, "Don't… blink. Move carefully and keep it in your vision at all times. Blinking." Immediately, Katana did as suggested and kept her own gaze on it while Sarah blinked. It went like that back and forth until they made it to the door on the other side. Acting with haste once inside the hall, Sarah slammed the door and locked it, "It should be stuck in there now. 003 is down the hall." As they walked, Katana saw Johnny. Before Katana could say something, she heard Sarah sharply inhale and order him, "Hold it right the fuck there D-class. Back to your cell!"

Katana didn't have time to say anything in rebuke of the treatment, before Johnny voiced up, "Woah, don't shoot!"

She tried to calm the adrenaline filled security guard by placing a hand on her shoulder, "Easy. He is harmless. Do not aim that gun at him unless there was an apparent threat." Meanwhile, she spoke telepathically to Johnny, "It will be safer in your cell. A couple of dangerous SCPs escaped. Other guards are running around here, you probably don't want to get caught in the crossfire."

"I'll just… gooooo-," Johnny spoke trailing off as if he noticed something behind the women. Sarah was the one who risked looking and her face turned from calm to alarmed in seconds, "Run! Run!"

Katana glared at the oncoming 049, "Back to your cell 049. Now."

All she got in response was it replying to Sarah, "Feisty one, you'll make an excellent subject," He proceeded to move towards the guard while simultaneously ignoring Katanna and Johnny.

She heard Sarah respond, "In your dreams." Before she could step in, she watched Sarah throw a flashbang before grabbing the both of them and running.

"Fuck this. My chamber is safer than…" Once at a safe distance, Johnny moved back towards his own cell for safety. When he had gotten back, he ran into 003, "Crap crap crap!" He went to close himself in his cell but it wouldn't lock, "Damn it! No locks!" He turned and ran from the now fully awake 003.

Katana saw the 003 as well and stepped back. She heard 049 turn tail and run after saying, "Hm? Oh my. I'm afraid this… whatever this was will have to be cut short. You have your hands full as is." The remark caused Katana to chuckle, 'No kidding.' Even the most dangerous SCPs had their own comedic moments. As she looked at 003, it was the same creature in the video. She glanced at Sarah and knew at that moment, they thought the exact same thing, 'Shit.' Taking charge of the situation, Katana said, "Back out slowly. Before it notices you." She didn't miss the fact that it was heading straight for Johnny.

"It's chasing your friend. Sure you wanna just leave it be? We need to get it contained one way or another." Sarah said.

"I know. We have to time it right to be able to assist him and for me to do that, you need to back out slowly." Katana ordered.

"Oh hell no," Sarah responded. Katana didn't want to argue and moved to help Johnny, "Then let's go." She didn't wait to hear a response and took off running in the direction Johnny went. Without missing a beat, she threw herself across the wide spread and landed, throwing her hand out. Items moved to block the path of 003. At this point, Katana had tossed the idea of exposure out the window. Not only did she possess the ability of telepathy, but she was also telekinetic. The ability to move items with her mind.

Immediately, she knew Sarah was surprised and made a comment, "uh… what?! Those 05 guys really don't tell us shit do they?"

"No one else can know Sarah. But we have to contain this thing by any means. I'll play distraction while you get to Johnny and move him towards us." Katana ordered

"What's so special about 'Johnny' anyway?" Out of everything that is what you take away from this? Katana thought. Before she could respond, Sarah continued, "Also, if anyone is going to play a distraction, it will be me." Fine, whatever. I don't care as long as we get this under control. They both notice that the thing moved slower now, thanks to the slab on its back.

"He heals from anything and is one of the most human scps we have here," Katana responded, "And fine. If that is what you want to do, then do it." Not wanting to waste anymore time, she moved quickly to the other side of 003. Looking at Johnny, "We need to move now. She can only hold it for so long."

"Hey, live or die, I'll be in my bed tomorrow. So whatever you wanna do, I'm up for it." Katana heard him respond, though clearly out of breath.

Before they could take off, she heard Sarah shout, "Crap. My bullets are just making it bigger!"

"Go!" Katana said, moving her hands in the air to hold 003 in place. She hoped it would be long enough for Johnny to get to the other side. "Sarah, stop shooting it!"

"I know!" She heard the response and the sound of hitting. The sound made her look and what she saw was Sarah hitting tentacles back with the gun. In minutes, Johnny was on the other side and chucking the heaviest thing that could be found. The item happened to be made of metal and caused 003 to stumble and screech. The screech was so loud that it pierced their eardrums. Seeing what happened, Katana chucked more metal items at the thing. Because she was so focused on chucking another item, she didn't see a tentacle coming towards her through her blind spot. She only noticed because Sarah shoved her out of the way; the tentacle was attached to her instead. The effect was instantaneous as it latched itself.

Katana cursed and tried to throw the creature back by using her own powers, "Let go now!"

Sarah fell, trying to reorient herself, "Oh my god. I… I don't… sick… it's sickening. But… you made a mistake. C'mon!" She pulled Katana and Johnny towards the technical room. Before they could make any progress, Johnny was grabbed and dragged away. Katana tried to grab for him but was stopped and pulled away by Sarah, "We can help him later! C'mon!"

Instead of following, Katana shoved her bag into Sarah's hands and pushed her out the door, "I'm not fucking leaving him. Get the researchers to look through that information and figure something out that can fix this. I will hold it off as long as possible. Go now!" Instead of running like she ordered, Sarah pulled a prototype suit out and assisted Katana in helping Johnny. "I ain't leaving your ass." Working together to move the creature back, Katana used the added space to grab Johnny. The creature went for her immediately only to be pelted back by iron ingots from Sarah.

Once at a safer distance, Katana tried to wake Johnny while ordering Sarah, "Get that data to Conrad! He should be able to whip something up to help. I can hold it off long enough to get what we need so that it doesn't leave the facility. Go!" Katana began moving towards the creature, doing what she could to slow it down.

The response from Sarah was not one she expected as she was shoved back and the bag shoved into her own arms, "Hell no. You get it to him! This bitch is mine!" Katana nodded and watched as she withdrew a large metal spike and attacked with it.

"You better stay alive you idiot," Katana responded, grabbing Johnny. "I'll get you to my apartment. You can rest there for now. Your cell is a no go right now." She moved quickly, using her telekinesis to help move.

"How the hell am I gonna get there?" I'll be fine, just go! I'll be back no matter what, right?" Johnny told her.

"Fine. Let me take care of this situation and then afterwards, I'm improving your situation. I'll talk to the people I work for, to get you on as my partner. You shouldn't have to go through this shit. But I have to get this research to Conrad." Katana said

"Whatever, just go before that sculpture decides to show up or something!" Johnny told her.

Moving quickly, Katana moved through the hall. What she did was focus her power to her feet, allowing for lighter movements thus letting her go faster. While running, she runs into 049 grabbing a D-class and killing them. 173 was also there and she ran in on it snapping multiple necks. Great…I don't have time for this! She yelled out, her voice rough, "Back to your cells now!" Without missing a bit, she moved her hands together and used the air to push the two SCPs violently into the walls and out of her path. The effect wasn't what she expected. 049 fell flat, while 173 was fine, but seemed to avoid her 049 standing and 173 not moving, Katana raised her hand ready for another push, "Unless you want to be destroyed, get to your chambers right now. It is the only protection you have right now." She wasn't worried about 173 as it seemed to move out of her way. Glancing at 049, she asked, "Are you going to cause me any issues?"

"Hmph. I doubt I could. You would make a terrible test subject anyways," That was the best response she would get and take it."Stay in this area unless you want to deal with the big and nasty a few halls down." She continued on, continuing at the same pace as earlier. She only slowed down when she came upon a group of soldiers. Immediately, she spotted Conrad and shoved the bag into his hands, "We need something drawn from these plans. Can you do it?"

"After looking at them, I'm sure I can figure something out, but it will take time. I've got a temporary solution for now while I work on this. Can you take it and make sure it is set up? It is the same device as last time. For now it will have to do till I make something better." Katana nodded, grabbing it and started running back. Once out of sight, she started using her abilities. When she arrived, through the window, she saw Sarah still punching the thing and pelting it with iron ingots. Thankfully, the power had been fixed. Katana burst through the doors and past Sarah. She launched herself using her powers to reattach a second slab. She then moved her hands together to create static electricity to power both slabs to weaken it.

The dual slabs were enough to send it to the ground and make it shrink. Breathing heavily, Sarah spoke, "Good timing. Just ran out of bullets." Katana turned towards her as she stepped out of the suit, but before she poke, she stumbled forward weakly. She had used her power too much in this entire issue. Before she hit the ground, she felt Sarah catch her. "Woah there. Take it easy for a while. I'll get this little shit transported to site-19."

Katana nodded, feeling like she could pass out any second, she grabbed Sarah's arm and said in warning, "No one can know what you saw me do. You have to keep it to yourself."

"The council would have my head if I did. You have my word it will stay between us. But watch who you do that in front of, most people would have shot you on sight. Which reminds me, c'mere." Sarah helped her over to a control panel, or what was left of one and said, "This wasn't an accident or something out of our hands. This was deliberate. We have a traitor among us."
