Qrow landed on the window pane, pecking at it to knock. Glynda walked over and opened it for him, letting him land in Ozpin's office and shift back to human form. Immediately she said, "Did you know?"

"What?" Qrow said, "Oz called me back from looking for our thief. Did I know-?"

"That Salem is apparently immortal," Glynda said, sounding frustrated. What.

"What?"

"We were having an emergency war council with our new allies," Glynda said, "and that little revelation came up. Salem was evidently cursed by the God of Light with immortality."

"I shouldn't have said that," Ozpin sighed, staring at an almost full set of chess pieces, the queen piece missing. Glynda turned towards him, "You were never supposed to know-"

"Why?" Glynda said, "What does it matter Ozpin, if she's immortal, and Satanachia's boss isn't capable of undoing it."

"He isn-"

"You don't know that!" Glynda said, "We are talking about something completely alien to Remnant, Ozpin, and you seem so obsessed with being resigned to it not changing that you're just dismissing the very real possibility that they might have an answer to this problem."

"Woah, woah, hold on," Qrow said, gesturing with his hands, "What's, what's going on? What new allies, what do you mean Salem is immortal? We knew she couldn't die from old age. Who's Satanachia? What do you mean, 'completely alien to Remnant'?"

"Earlier today," Glynda said, "a portal opened on the Beacon Commons. Out of it, came… a group of people we weren't expecting. It's better if I just showed you, Qrow, because it's hard to believe."

She typed something into the terminal, causing it to pop up a holographic display of a woman who looked like, "Why's she look like Ruby grown up?"

"Because she is Ms. Rose, grown up," Glynda said, "The group was Team RWBY, having traveled through time. The others left before they entered Beacon proper, otherwise I would show you Ms. Xiao Long too."

"We sure it isn't a group of bandits using a Semblance to trick you?" Qrow said in disbelief.

"She knew too much, Qrow," Ozpin said, "things I've never told anyone, and said she got that information from someone nobody can access at the moment. It's Miss Rose."

"Or as she told us to call her to make the differences between them easier, Satanachia," Glynda said, and then, voice dripping with sarcasm, "Well, she gave us a few rather ostentatious and egotistical titles, but Satanachia was the one she was most modest with, so that's the one we're using."

"Alright then," Qrow said doubtfully, "how far in the future are we talking, and what's this about a boss?'

"That's where things get hard to believe," Ozpin said.

"Or as harder to believe as any of this can be," Glynda cut in, "Six hundred years, because they're not human anymore."

"Then what are they?"

"Devils," Glynda said, "That's what Satanachia calls them, at least. They were apparently sent to another world, and became Devils to survive long enough to return to Remnant. Satanachia's "boss", Ajuka Beelzebub, is apparently one of the strongest people in the world she comes from. She's fairly confident that he can undo Salem's curse. Actually…"

She flipped a switch and spoke into the intercom, "Satanachia, can you come back to Ozpin's office? We have someone for you to talk to-"

Everyone jumped as a knocking came from the window, and the older Ruby lookalike was hanging in the air with a bunch of bat wings beating. Once the window was open, she let herself in, landing and spreading her arms wide, "Hey there, Old Man, you're looking good. What have we covered so far?"

"Salem's immortal," Glynda said, "you think it can be undone, you're Devils, you're six hundred years old."

"Right, let's go over the members of Salem's faction, again, and get you all caught up, ok?"

"It's really you," Qrow said in disbelief, "You're really Ruby…"

"Yep," Ruby popped the P, hugging him tight, "I missed you, Uncle Qrow. We need to get Dad out here for a reunion, it's been even longer since I saw him."

— X Ruby X—

Ruby was popping a strawberry in her mouth when the arrow came flying towards her. Of course, calling it an arrow was a bit much, it was really one of those fancy light swords the exorcists used, fired as an arrow. Floating Array flew up, knocking it off course as Ruby pushed off Wilted Rose. The ten blades of Floating Array split and began to hover around her shoulder blades like a pair of bladed wings.

"You can do better than that, Griselda," Ruby said around her strawberry, "Man, these are really good, you want one?"

Another arrow shot at her head was the response she got, and Ruby used a single blade of Floating Array to bat down the arrow-sword. Griselda Quatra dropped down from a higher level of the favela, placing another arrow against the compound bow, "Hello, Ruby."

"Hiya," Ruby said, opening her saddlebag and storing the strawberries inside, "We really doing this?"

"Unfortunately," Griselda's eyes flickered behind Ruby, and she drew the arrow back. Ruby breathed in, catching the scent on the breeze and gesturing with her hand. A hundred layers of paper thin barriers formed into existence around the second exorcist. A beautiful young woman with blue hair with a shock of green.

"Oh, crap, is that a Holy Sword?" Ruby said, walking around the barrier to examine it, "I always wanted to study one of them. Which one is it, Galatine? Ascalon? Hauteclere?"

The blade came down in a double handed stroke that shattered all one hundred layers in one go, the wave of destruction carrying on and cracking the ground in two. Ruby infused her hands with Silver Light, surging into the young woman's guard and shooting a grin that could only be described as flirtatious at her, "Hi!"

The girl jerked back even as Griselda started, "Ruby-"

Ruby didn't wait, slamming her elbow into the off-balanced girl's gut and sending her flying away from her sword, catching it with the silver light enhanced hand. Ruby hummed, spinning the sword around one handed, "It's not Excalibur Destruction, they wouldn't let that out for little old me, so… Durendal?"

The blade hummed happily at being identified. Ruby ran her free hand down the flat of the blue and gold blade, cooing, "the things you could teach me, sweetie."

"How are you holding Durendal?" The young woman said, "it should be-"

"Ruby's Sacred Gear means she holds a large amount of Light in her, despite being a Devil," Griselda explained.

"Anyways," Ruby said, pulling out a card and wrapping it around Durendal's hilt, before lightly tossing it back to the poleaxed teen, "this was fun, but I should get going, the Stray's dead. Catch you around, uh…?"

"Xenovia," she said.

"Xenovia, Griselda," twelve wings flared and she grabbed Wilted Rose, taking off into the sky and for the nearest port.

Xenovia walked over to Durendal, looking up at the beautiful woman flying away, and pulled the card off and staring at the glyph emblazoned on it.

"Well, Ruby likes you," Griselda said, holding up her own card, "she gives that to exorcists she likes, "to give us someone to vent to when the church is the problem"."

"I would never summon a devil," Xenovia protested.

"Never is a long time," Griselda said, "hold on to the card, just to be safe. That's what my mentor told me to do when I was in your shoes."
