Aro and Marcus were watching the youngest of their little "family" staring off into space for the good part of the "visit" from a stray newborn vampire of little importance. The fool was reckless in his feedings and has brought much attention to their world. It was the lovely Dinette that brought this attention to them. The vampire couple lived in the city center and owned the tiny stationary shop that Emaline loved to visit with Jane.

In times as this Caius would be jumping to his feet and demanding that the fools head be torn off immediately or he would do it himself. Instead he stared into space, not hearing or seeing the action in front of him.

The fool newborn actually thought he could fight off Demitri and Felix, such a fun sight it was. It wasn't until the pieces of an ages old table flew pass the face of his brother that he realized that Caius was not in the room.

"Termina in fretta (End this quickly)"

With a flurry of his hand the newborn was torn to pieces. All the while Caius stared into space. Aro watched him carefully while walking towards his throne with his hands perched under his chin. A delicate knock brought his attention and the soft movement of Marcus brought him out of his musings.

"Buona sera Jennifer, avete notizia per noi? (Good evening, Jennifer. You have news for us?)" Marcus spoke slowly to the young woman in front of them with a thick file in her hands. He watched the tendrils of hair escape the delicate frames perched on her head.

"Really Master Marcus? I am so not Emaline." Jennifer looked at him with a soft smirk, "And yes, I have the plans for the impromptu ball that Master Aro has decided to hold."

Jennifer could hear Aro chuckling as he came to stand next to her while plucking the folder from her fingertips.

"Ah but in order to learn one just has to try." Marcus teased her, "Now, any news of Emaline's arrival in Paris?"

"New York." Jennifer replied, "Emaline is in New York."

"What business does she have in New York when her trip is in Paris?" A cool and slightly angry voice chimmed in, causing Aro and Marcus to look at the calculating face of their brother.

"Because Brayden is in New York." Jennifer supplied, slightly confused when the three looked at her in disbelief, "Please don't look at me like that, I've already discussed being left in the dark with "HItler" I don't really want to hash it out with you."

"It doesn't matter whether you want too or not!" Caius stood up quickly, causing Jennifer to step back and watch him carefully, "The child has no business in New York, there is no reason for her to see him!"

"Emaline has every right to see her father." Jennifer calmly spoke to the irate vampire in front of her.

"Any responsible mother would not allow him to see her when he hasn't taken the time to see her before this!" Caius started arguing with her, coming to stand so close that she had to look up at him with just as much fire in her eyes!

"You are right, a responsible mother should have taken her to see him earlier! A responsible mother would have never took her away! Or lied to her every year that her father was busy with work when he actually was busy doing anything but caring for his child! A.."

"Questo è più che sufficiente! (That will be quite sufficient!)" Aro said cutting off the argument while Marcus slowly placed his hands on the trembling womans shoulders.

She glared up at the younger king with fire in her eyes as Marcus turned her and gently walked her out of the throne room. Aro stood beside his brothers fuming body.

"Well I say that news was taken rather well, don't you think?" Aro teased Caius who glared at him and stomped out of the throne room in a huff.

Aro walked slowly to his throne and picked up the folder that was there. He looked at the delicate script and detailed notes before sighing, "Such changes you have brought on dearest."

-- Page Break --

Marcus walked behind the young woman, slightly leading her towards her office. When they reached her office, he closed the door a bit for privacy while he took a seat in her office chair.

"I had hoped I would see "take a swing" at him." Marcus teased her softly, trying to get the woman to loosen up and show the smile he found he liked on her lovely face.

She stood there and stared out the window with her back to him while he sat in the office chair in front of her desk.

"He is right isn't he?" She said softly, "I am a horrible mother."

She lowered her head a little to stop the tears that were going to stop even if she had to gauge her eyes out damnit.

Marcus calmly took her hands and tugged the resisting woman to him.

"No, he was not right and I am sure that he did not mean what he said, truly."

As he spoke the words, he could see the tell tale form of Caius watching the two in her little office. He took the time to activate his gift before grinning at the woman in front of him. A solid tendril of fire red looked like it was pressing against a wall as it tried to connect to the young woman in front of him.

It would be soon.

A low groan could be heard from the woman in front of him as she looked away with pink cheeks.

"Time for lunch for you. I am sure your work can wait for a much needed break." Marcus said while standing and uncharachteristically pushing her out the door. "Off you go!"

He was off to find his brothers. It was time for a little talk
