Chapter 13: True Feelings I
They had made their way over to her house and along the way; Myzuki continued to tell Ikki her past with Kenshin. This time she couldn't handle things alone, not if she really wanted to end things once in for all.
"Sorry," she said.
"Why," he asked.
"For rambling on I guess…"
"Don't be," he smiled "Tell me have you always ridden AT's," He inquired.
They were sitting next to each other on her black comfortable couch. He stared aimlessly at the floor as he waited for a response.
"No, not really, I guess I was just a fast learner. I guess you could say I obtained my regalia early on. That is when things slowly but surely began to change around me. Like my perception of reality was just that my perception and not what the truth really was,"
"What truth," he asked.
She felt her eyes moving to his face then to his chest, remembering how it felt to be close to him. The craziest thought hit her. What it would be like if she initiated the kiss for once?
He tilted his head in her direction and observed her. "How much do I remind you of Kenshin?"
Was she so transparent? She flushed. "Not really… but enough that…"
"That you're attracted to me?"
She wanted to disappear. Talk about straightforward. She looked down at her lap. "I wouldn't do something like that for a lame reason like you remind me of him,"
"Why, not," His breath was on her cheek. Warm. Soft. Tempting. When had he gotten so close? Uncomfortable how close his mouth was near hers, and how tempted she was to let it get even closer. She got up from the couch.
"I think we -"
He stood up. She took a step back. He backed up. "It's all right," he said.
She took a step towards him. She met his gaze. She took another step. She looked from his eyes to his lips. They appeared soft, so inviting, before she knew it she was standing in front of him. The warmth of his body, melted against hers. His natural scent worked its way into her senses. She caught her breath.
"You okay now," his voice deeper now.
"Yeah," She really wanted him to kiss her or she could just kiss him. That sounded like a good idea. She inched closer until his lips were so close she could feel the heat.
"Myzuki," the way he said her name made her melt a little more.
"Yes," she managed…
"I'm finding it hard to restrain myself…"
"I'm sorry." She almost kissed him then. Almost, but knowing it wouldn't be fair to either of them. She didn't do it, not yet.
A few days since then have passed. It was Monday night and she decided to join the squad over to Ikki's place for a movie. The whole crew was there. It was great. This is exactly what she needed. Myzuki was busy racking her brain on how to deal with Kenshin. Ikki hadn't really brought it up either. She figured he was having his own issues on how to deal with it.
By this point, everyone had left. They had assumed that Ikki would be taking her home. He went to use the bathroom and she had found her way over to his room. He had snuck up behind her. He blew into her ear. She freaked out.
She was about to let out a scream. However, she was silenced when he placed his finger on her lips. He reached out with his other hand and place a strand of hair behind her ear. Her breath hitched. She wanted to look away but he held her gaze firm and unwavering. Without thinking, she moved up on her tiptoes and pressed her lips to his.
He wasn't the one that started the kiss.
Nope, she did that.
He wasn't the one that deepened the kiss.
She did that too.
He didn't move closer.
She did.
Not that he mind any of it.
Nevertheless, he was the one that moved his tongue in her mouth. Somewhere in the back of her mind, she thought "Oops."
She pulled back. They both were breathing hard.
"Wow," He said
Myzuki inhaled, still trying to catch her breath, trying to clear her head. She stared down at her shoes, because looking at him in the eyes right now would be too much. She hadn't meant for that to happen. On the other hand, had she?
He ran his finger under her chin and tilted her head up. Damn. He was going to make her look at him. He was going to ask her a question she couldn't answer him.
"What was that? Was that a kiss goodnight… or was that something more?"
"I don't know," she answered honestly. "Maybe just a weak moment."
He laughed, "Do me favor." He leaned closer.
"What?"
"Whenever you're feeling weak, come see me."
She went to give him a thump on his chest, but he stopped her. He brought her hand to his lips, his gaze heavy he kissed her inner wrist gently. The moisture of his lips sends a tingling sensation up her spine.
The second kiss wrecked more havoc then the first. "I should be going,"
"I'll ride with you," He arched a brow.
"I am not kissing you again," she blurted out before she could even think about it.
He laughed. "I bet you will."
She knew he was right. "Not tonight."
"I figured as much. Good thing I'm patient."
