Chapter 16: King & Queen

Kokuen looked around the club at the teeming, half-naked bodies on the dance floor, taking in the seen before him. He reached for the drink on the table in front of him. Someone sat next to him.

"There's a group going around stealing regalia's. According to my sources his name is Kenshin, we're actually not sure what his last name is. Also, Myzuki Takahashi is being blackmailed into giving up her regalia. It seems like her father has been kidnapped. It's safe to assume that within that small radius the other regalia's in danger would be Ikki's, Kazu, and Agitos.

"Benkei, we haven't seen each other in while, is that how you greet me?"

"Get serious Kokuen, Sora is still alive—"

"It's not him,"

"How do you know?"

"It feels different. It's hard to explain. Sora is an egomaniac. This feels like whoever is behind this has a vendetta. To what extent though… oh well… it's hard to say," Kokuen turn towards her then. He had a lazy smirk. How long has it been, he thought.

The last time he saw her was when he aided her after which he got injured. Benkei has lost a lot. She is no longer a hollow shell of what she was when Yoshitune died and lost her leg. These days she replaced her right leg with a prosthetic similar to Sora's. She has come a long way but she still longs to avenge Yoshitune. Kokuen feared her judgement was clouded in this case. She was desperate to grasp to the fact the Sora and Nike had anything to do with this.

"Listen, come back to my place and we—"

"No."

"Then how about you relax love and I will go check on Ikki and his friends, right?" He stood up and didn't wait for a response before he took off.

Benkei huffed something about men under her breath. She reached for her pipe then. She had tucked away in her pants. She filled it with tobacco and proceeded to smoke, shortly after a server came by for her drink order. She left before it got there.

"Did that bastard really think I was going to sit on the side lines like a damsel in distress." She took off in the same direction as Kokuen.

In another part of town.

Her phone rang.

"Hello?" she answered hesitantly.

"Myzuki?" The deep sound of his voice did another pull on her emotions.

She swallowed a knot down her throat and visualized him in her mind. The way he would look at her when they would kiss.

"Yes?"

"It's Kenshin."

"I know," she answered him. She closed her eyes. "Why are you calling me?"

"Do I need a reason?"

"We're not together anymore, Kenshin. And how did you get this number?"

"That's a mistake I'm trying to rectify. Don't you see? That's why I came all the way here for."

He was meet with silence.

"Look, I'm leaving town."

"Why are you telling me?"

"Because I don't want you to think that I had given up or anything. I'm coming back. So be prepared."

"For?"

"Because I'll be back for you princess." With that, Kenshin hung up.

She closed her eyes and let those words sink in. She let her phone fall out of her hand lazily onto her bed. She fell back on her bed and draped her left arm over her eyes, as to shield her from the bright light. Who does he think he is? Thinking I am something that he can claim. Fucking bullshit! She thought.

She stretched and changed into a pair of sleeping shorts. She pulled out the futon; she really wished she could get that phone call out of her head. It all felt like dejavu except for the whole Katashi kidnapping her dad. The bastard hadn't called her and neither had those two bitches. She wasn't sure if Kenshin was involved. He was leaving town. Did that mean he was the one on guard duty for her dad? Everything felt like it was collapsing in on her. She opened her window to let some air in, she felt like if she didn't she would pass out.

"Yo,"

"You just like coming to people's houses uninvited, hmm Ikki," It really wasn't a question, but she had to admit she was a little happy to see him.

He didn't say anything. He proceeded to make himself comfortable. He took off his AT's and laid on her bed.

She rolled her eyes and walked to her bathroom. After brushing her teething and washing her face. She ran a cold damp towel across the back of her neck. She was hot for some reason. Cool droplets ran down her skin and she welcomed the shivers that followed.

She walked back out and frowned. There was something strange. The air around her felt more dense for some reason, while a small underlying current of electricity, like their auras were intertwining.

Ikki stood up from the bed. He was making his way towards her and she couldn't move. She was just frozen in place. He reached her and all she could do was stare. She felt even hotter now.

'Was that even possible,' she thought.

"I thought maybe we could try this again," his voice came out huskier than usual.

She let out a breath; she did not know she was holding. She put out her hand to the nearest wall in order not to faint. The air got denser and the electricity became more erratic. His hand crossed the distance between them and he took her chin with his thumb and forefinger. He tilted her face.

She thought he was going to kiss her, but he didn't. His head bent down and he took a deep inhale.

"You smell good."

He placed a small kiss on her neck.

"Then again you always smell good."

Her body became heavy, she lost her grip on the wall and was about to fall. In one smooth move, he caught her. He swept her off the floor and she leaned into him. He handled her as if she was weightless. He crossed the room and laid her down on her futon. She reached out and cupped his face with her right hand. This seemed to surprise him but he didn't move away.

"Kiss me," She whispered.

He took too long. She grabbed him by the flaps of his jacket. She tried to pull him down.

"Easy, I want to take things slow," he said.

She didn't want to take things slow. She went to break free of his hold. She arched her back, which had made her breast strain against her shirt.

"Damn," he muttered.

She smiled up at him.

"Touch me… Please,"

His eyebrows were drawn together. He seemed to be deep in concentration. She wrapped her legs around him and drew him to her. His blood was pumping as if he was in an AT battle. By this point, the air around them was like a tornado and they were in the eye. The lightening was still circulating through it; it was getting out of control and it took out the electricity on her block.

He let go of her wrists. Her hands went to his jacket trying to pull it off. He ripped it off and it fell to the floor. She laughed then, not at him but a genuine laugh; one that sounded like she was happy right then at that moment.

"You two love birds should slow down,"

They both came out of the trance they were in and looked over to the window. There stood Kokuen otherwise known as Cokefire. He was Spitfire's right hand man back in the day. He is the current leader to the group Volcano and doubles as an advisor to Kogarasamaru of some sort.

They both just realized the huge electric tornado going on around them.

"If you guys keep this up, they'll be nothing left of this block. Oh and might as well as make yourself a target for Katashi, hmm…" Cokefire continued.

The both willed themselves to calm down. Everything seemed to stop.

"The three of us are going to have a lovely ol' chat,"
