KRISSIE: I am finally coming back to this. I re-read the whole thing yesterday and began writing some more for it because I've been writing little snidbits.

Masato burst into laughter while driving.
"What is it?" Jadeite clung to his seat. He wondered if Masato had finally snapped.
"Izono lied," Masato answered. "He just rolled over and went with what Aino-san aid so she wouldn't meddle."
Jadeite smiled and then began laughing. "Of course, he did! It just makes so much sense." The blond sat up right. "Now drive safely to my mom's."
"She's at work, right? That little salon?" Masato questioned.
"Yes. She's going to give me the keys to the house and my wallet. We're going to then get a gift for your aunt." Jadeite stated. "And I would like to make it there in one piece."
"Is that why you're folding swans?" Masato asked.
"No. My mom just likes it when I make her origami." Jadeite shrugged.
The salon was small, but it smelled of beautiful soft scents. Rei liked this salon. She enjoyed getting her hair and nails done here. She and Ami had a free period this morning so they came here to unwind. Rei needed it too. She was super stressed.
"Where is Myriam?" Rei asked as she entered.
A woman with raven hair pinned into a tight bun in the back of her head stepped forward. Her blue eyes seemed to beam. "Hello Hino-san," she greeted with a bow "Shall I do your usual?"
"Can I add a little extra? I'm really stressed," Rei smiled.
"Of course," she bowed, "And for you miss?"
Ami paused as she wasn't sure.
"How about her hair and nails?" Rei suggested. "Something simple so she isn't overwhelmed." She smiled at her blue haired friend.
Ami nodded in response.
The two girls sat down in a chair as Myriam and another girl set to work on their hair.
"So how have you been Myriam? You seem to be elated." Rei smiled at the older woman.
She liked Myriam a lot. She was a classical Japanese woman, but she worked hard to make ends meet. Rei just wished Myriam had better taste in men. And was stronger. It was hard for Rei to believe that she had met this woman at the super market after witnessing a man slapping the poor thing across the face. Rei couldn't stand it, so she shooed the man away. She befriended Myriam soon after.
Myriam blushed. "Nothing gets passed you Hino-san."
"Rei-chan is fine," Rei smiled, "But a blush can only mean so many things. So what is it?"
"My son finally called yesterday, Rei-chan." Myriam gave a huge smiled as she washed her hair. "He's coming to visit today."
"Then why are you working?" Rei gasped. She didn't want ot be in the way of such a reunion. "Won't your little peacock be upset about you working while he's here to visit?"
"Oh, my little peacock knows I can't just take a day off work." Myriam stated, "But if it'll ease your mind, Rei-chan, you will be my last customer of the day. After all, I need to make sure my son gets a proper gift for our house guest."
"This house guest isn't a man, is it?" Rei mused.
"No," Myriam shook her head. "His father hasn't come to the house sine you greeted him at the door. Though I did let him know our son was coming home today."
"Then do you mind if I intrude on your reunion?" Rei asked. "I don't want him to disgrace you in front of your son."
"I don't know…" Myriam trailed off, "My little peacock might see you at the table and think I've engaged him."
"Would I not make a lovely bride?" Rei faked hurt.
"Oh, you would dear. A very lovely bride." Myriam affirmed.
"Then am I not good enough for your peacock?" Rei pouted playfully.
"No," Myriam shook her head while laughing. "I feel that neither of you are ready to marry. My little bird is 21 but still growing. And you're only 17. That's barely done with high school. In this day and age, you should take your time and fall in love before jumping into such a huge thing as marriage."
Rei smiled.
"Plus I believe Rei-chan isn't very trusting of men," Myriam teased. "I don't think my little peacock could change that. Not when he's always fussing over his mom."
The girls laughed.
'Why is your son's nickname peacock?" Ami asked.
"Because he dreams of being a model," Myriam chuckled.
"And he's here to see you," A woman walked into the back where they were. "He says he's willing to wait till you're done. He brought his manager too."
Myriam nodded as she began brushing Rei's hair. "Tell him it will be a while."
"No," Rei interjected, "Bring him back here. I want to meet him."
Myriam sighed. "But he might get in the way of your girls relaxing."
"I don't mind," Ami stated.
"Neither do I," Rei beamed. "So bring him back here."
Jadeite was greeted by the receptionist as she came out to greet him. He would have to wait an hour or two, he was sure. So, he was surprised to hear something else.
"You can come back now," she smiled.
"But the customer?" Jadeite questioned.
"Is a regular who is requesting she gets to see Madam Myriam's little peacock."
Jadeite gulped. He was never quite sure what to expect when meeting regular customers at the salon. He collected his swans in a small bowl and got up. Masato was right behind him.
Jadeite knocked on the door. It was a private pamper room. People often got massages back here. He didn't' like being in that room while customers were there.
"Come in my peacock," His mom greeted.
Jadeite smiled. He felt overjoyed to hear his mom's voice after so long. He opened the door slowly and quietly stepped in. He bowed low out of respect. "Hello mother," he greeted, "Sorry for my intrusion."
"Nonsense," His mom waved her hand. "Actually, could you grab the black comb for me."
Jadeite nodded as he grabbed the comb. And then he noticed who the customers were. "Ami-chan? Rei-chan? Why aren't you two at school?" Jadeite asked as another thought hit him. "Which one of you is the regular Mya mention?" He instinctively took a step back from them.
Myriam arched an eyebrow as she ran the comb through Rei's hair. "Do you all know each other?" She stared at her son.
"Yes," Jadeite answered. "I would like to know which one has a life time of black mail against me so I can bribe them into secrecy."
"How do you know each other?" Myriam asked.
"It's… huh… complicated." Rei tried to lie.
"Oh, you mean that you're Sailor Mars and you saved my son from the Dark Agency's brainwashing?" Myriam retorted.
Ami and Rei felt their jaws drop. Masato stepped closer to the door. He gave Jadeite a look.
"And what makes you say that mother?" He tried to play cool. He knew his mom couldn't read minds, but times like these made him think she could.
"Because Rei and Mars both use talismans the same way. And it's very unique. There's just no denying it. Plus, they look exactly alike." Myriam stated.
"Well at least you can't read minds." Jadeite sighed with relief. "But when did you see Rei use a talisman? Did she purify the salon?"
"No," Rei shook her head. "I used it on some creep named Thomas."
"Thomas?" Jadeite hissed. "As in creep Thomas who tells innocent young ladies lies just so he can get what he wants? Creep Thomas who leaves a woman with a child swimming in his debts? Creep Thomas who has done nothing but make you cry, creep Thomas?"
Myriam sighed. Ami sat with an open mouth. Masato suck in a breath and Rei stared with a blank face.
Rei then smiled. "Creep Thomas who also might be visiting you at your mom's today."
"No he's not." Jadeite shook his head. "He has no right,"
"Jadeite," Myriam cut him off firmly, "He is your father. He has the right to see you."
"Ha!" Jadeite scoffed, "That man is not worthy of the honor of parenthood. He even ran from it. Sperm donor suits him better."
"He still has the right to see you," Myriam reaffirmed.
Jadeite clenched his fist. "That may be so, but he has no right to be in your presence mother."
Rei smiled. "You're right," she turned to Myriam, "He is very protective of you."
"Yes I am." Jadeite saluted, "But back to the matter at hand."
"I will be coming with to shoo him away if he causes trouble." Rei stated.
Myraim sighed as she waved her hands in the air. "Very well, you may come, but only if Jadeite agrees."
"I don't mind Rei-chan coming along," Jadeite shrugged. "She can hit him since I am forbidden from doing so in your house."
Myriam rolled her eyes.
"Feel free to break his leg," Jadeite added in a whisper.
"Jadeite!" Myriam gasped.
"What? I can't do it in your presence." Jadeite looked at her with an innocent face.
"I'm just glad to have my baby peacock home." Myriam kissed Jadeite on the cheek.
"Which reminds me, what all have you learned about me?" he turned his attention to Rei.
"You want to be a model, so your mom calls you her little peacock. You told her when you were small that would get rich and make sure she would never have to work again. And you'd get her a house with two servants."
"Yeah. That's still a plan. I need to get back to work soon. How much is left in the savings account?"
"I haven't touched any of your bank accounts. Though your back account only has 10$ in it. The police told me your last purchase had been 2.000$. What on earth did you buy?"
Jadeite smiled nervously. "Did you get your birthday gift mailed to you?"
"Meaning?" Myriam gave her son a stern look.
"The hair pins, a kimono with peacocks on it, that peacock brooch you're wearing. I sent you a few other things too. I spaced them out over two months so you wouldn't get too suspicious about how much I was spending." Jadeite shrugged. "I just really wanted to spoil you for your birthday."
"Well I do love everything you give me," Myriam smiled, "By the way, what's in that bowl?"
"Origami swans," Jadeite pulled out a swan.
"He propped some up on random shelves and tables when we got here," Masato stated.
Rei stretched with joy. She still had to go to school, which she was sad to do. But she agreed to meet Myriam at her house later that day. Ami and she waved before departing the salon.
"She knows where you live mom?" Jadeite hummed as he looked at his mother. "Just how good of friends are you two?"
Myriam merely smiled as she patted her son on the cheek. "How does it look?"
"Like you've become best friends with a girl who, I'm pretty sure, hates me," Jadeite stated as he looked at Rei. He then sighed. He couldn't deny that Rei was a good person though. Plus, she was a great fighter. He didn't mind her being friends with his mom. She could protect her if trouble every happened while he was away. And it seemed like she had. He should probably get her a thank you gift while he was out.
"Here are the keys and your wallet with your cards," Myriam hugged her son tightly.
"Then let's go shopping for a gift for Miss Stanton," Jadeite smiled as he accepted the items. "Is there anything you would like while we're at it?" Jadeite had hoped she would say yes, but she merely shook her head.
Jadeite was glad he had called the bank while waiting in the salon to transfer money from his savings account to his checking. He was still couldn't believe he had so much in his savings account. Masato assured him it was because of interest. Jadeite could only smile. He didn't quite understand interest, but he sure did like it right now. He practically had enough in there to rent a cheap house now. He would have to keep good track of it.
"We're still putting a bow in Masato-san's hair, aren't we?" Myriam mused as she held up a pack of bows.
Jadeite beamed. "Of course!" He turned to the 22-year-old, "Which color do you want Masato?"
Masato looked at the bows. "Purple. It's her favorite color."
Jadeite and his mom nodded with grins as they picked out a cute plush animal and some flowers for Amelia. Jadeite bought the items and had Masato take his mom to the car as he went to pick up one last surprise.
Jadeite picked up a box of Ashwaganda tea and two sparkling hair pins. The tea was the cover up for his mom. The hair pins were surprise presents.

KRISSIE: Here is the end of this chapter. It's been like 3 years since I wrote for this. I doubt anyone remembers it. I really do love this story, so I'm going to continue this. Though I can say that I have published a few ebooks since I've worked on this. I've also started a webcomic on WebToons. It's called My Brain, so if you want something derpy to read that updates every Monday, go have a look. I have plans for 2 more webcomics too, but those are more story based. Also if you want to see random tidbits of the charas interacting that may or may not wind up in the story but will probably be referenced, I would suggest going to check out my blog, Galaxy of Tales, where those tidbits will be published.
